What's up?
Speaker BSkirts up, squad.
Speaker ADid you just take my wine?
Speaker AI did.
Speaker AIt's Samantha and Melissa.
Speaker CI'm going to actually tell you guys how it is right now.
Speaker CIt was so fun.
Speaker BWe couldn't even make it up.
Speaker BI'm gonna do it.
Speaker BI'm gonna wear it in public.
Speaker AAnd then she looks at me and.
Speaker CShe goes, that's what Jesus is for.
Speaker CWe are about normalizing things that are.
Speaker BHard to talk about.
Speaker CI was like deer in headlights.
Speaker CSkirts out, but keep your pant.
Speaker CWelcome to our first episode in November.
Speaker BIt's November 3rd.
Speaker COctober flew.
Speaker CIt flew.
Speaker CAnd here we are in November.
Speaker CLike, it's just wild.
Speaker CLike the year.
Speaker CThis is maybe glass half empty, but it feels like the year is almost over.
Speaker CLike, where did it go?
Speaker BWell, yeah.
Speaker BOr half full.
Speaker BBecause, like, we made it.
Speaker BI like that refrain.
Speaker AWe're gonna go with that.
Speaker BWe made it.
Speaker CWe made it.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker CThat is what we're going for.
Speaker CAnd when we were talking earlier, you mentioned that maybe it feels that way because October is just kind of like our favorite month.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd I wish it could last a little longer.
Speaker BI'll be honest.
Speaker BLike, I freaking love it getting cold.
Speaker BI love the leaves starting to fall.
Speaker CChange colors because November is like fall.
Speaker BThat's true.
Speaker BHere in Georgia.
Speaker BThey don't fall as early as they do up north.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker BBut, yeah, it's.
Speaker BYeah, you're right.
Speaker BNovember is really more.
Speaker BBecause that.
Speaker BThey were falling at your wedding.
Speaker CThey were falling at my wedding.
Speaker CWhich our anniversary is on the.
Speaker COh, my gosh.
Speaker CThe 10th.
Speaker CNovember 10th.
Speaker CSo, yeah.
Speaker CNext week.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker COh, my goodness.
Speaker BAnything fun?
Speaker CWe don't have anything planned.
Speaker CAnd I think I'm lowkey waiting to see if he forgets.
Speaker BHe does do something.
Speaker BOh, if he forgets.
Speaker BOh, you're trying to.
Speaker BYou're trying to trap it.
Speaker BI'm not, I'm not.
Speaker CI really, like.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BI think you're trying to see low key.
Speaker BIf he remembers.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker CBecause regardless, like, I can honestly say, like, honestly, like, full heartedly say, like, right now, if he didn't remember, I would just laugh and not have any hard feelings.
Speaker CLike, things just.
Speaker CThings are just so good.
Speaker CThere's nothing he could really give me right now that would mean more than just, like, spending time together.
Speaker CSo I think I would laugh if he, like, forgot and just be like, well, I guess, God, make it up to me.
Speaker CI'm hearing the melting pot.
Speaker CHe doesn't like the melting pot.
Speaker CI like the melting pot.
Speaker BI know.
Speaker AWorks.
Speaker AI love it.
Speaker BBecause it's true, though.
Speaker BLike, I I don't think you're really trying to trap him.
Speaker BI was just joking.
Speaker BBut it is nice to kind of be like, oh, is there going to be a surprise?
Speaker BWhat's going to happen?
Speaker BAs long as you don't get mad.
Speaker CWhen it, you know, when you are in a negative headspace, though that is for sure a trap.
Speaker CLike if that's your mind, like for sure.
Speaker CLike, I.
Speaker CProbably not probably.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CI, I, I've done it before.
Speaker CI was about to say, like, I want to say I probably have done it before, but I, I've done it before.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker BIt's not fair, but it's happened.
Speaker BBut oh, that's so good that things are perfect.
Speaker BI really can't wait to see if he does what what he does.
Speaker CYeah, I guess we'll find out thing.
Speaker CWe'll find out if he does.
Speaker ACool.
Speaker CAnd if not, I'm hearing the melting pot.
Speaker CThat's where we're going.
Speaker CThe melting pot.
Speaker CThey should pay me for this.
Speaker AThey should.
Speaker CI don't think we mentioned this in the last episode, so I just want to remind everyone that we have our subscription on our website so you can pay to get our extended full episodes.
Speaker CAnd with video, which.
Speaker CYeah, I think people have been asking not I think people have been asking us for.
Speaker BWell, I didn't realize people had asked you.
Speaker BI had a couple people ask me too.
Speaker CYeah, I didn't know anyone was asking you.
Speaker CI just know that on side people were like, man, I wish there was a video because I just, I don't get into just listening and.
Speaker BWhich is weird because I think you and I are both like on the same page where we are like, no, I can only listen when I'm working or doing something because I don't have time to sit there and watch.
Speaker BBut yeah, they want to see us.
Speaker AWe got to give them what they want.
Speaker COh, slide's awesome.
Speaker CThat is there.
Speaker CCheck it out.
Speaker CIt's on our website.
Speaker CWe also have our charity event for canine assistance coming up with Clean as our head performance.
Speaker CAnd we also have an opening band called Carrie in the Feels.
Speaker CSo it's just going to be this whole fun.
Speaker BWait, wait.
Speaker BOh, we're, you know, Carrie in the Feels.
Speaker CYou know them?
Speaker CYeah, I went to school with them.
Speaker BThat's crazy.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CSo it's just exciting.
Speaker CReally exciting.
Speaker CIt's going to be just this music filled, magical day and it's all dogs.
Speaker CYes, kids.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BHow could you ask for more beer?
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CGood drinks, dogs, amazing music for a good cause.
Speaker CLike, come on, it's going to be fun.
Speaker BIt's going to be really nice.
Speaker CI'm so excited.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYeah, me too.
Speaker BYay.
Speaker CAnd another thing, you guys may have seen this by time it comes out.
Speaker CMelissa, I just shared this with you.
Speaker COur episode.
Speaker CI'm so thankful for.
Speaker CFor the opportunity that we get to talk with people of all different walks of life.
Speaker CIf someone had come across our episode about with the domestic violence and sexual assault investigator, where we talked about the red signs and symptoms and, you know, what you can do when you find yourself in a domestic violence situation, and someone heard that episode and reached out and said that that episode is what led them to get away from their situation.
Speaker CAnd I'm just so thankful that the investigator was open and with her story and was able to talk to us and that DeKalb county even let her do that, because I know that that.
Speaker BCan be, you know, that can be dicey, right?
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BAnd, like, yeah, she had, like, a lot to say already, and she had a lot of experience with dealing with these things with other people.
Speaker BBut that investigator was so freaking open about her own story, like, you just said.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BAnd I think that was the nail in the coffin on that one.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CI just got goosebumps.
Speaker CAnd, you know, we just got out of domestic violence awareness month, so I just feel like it was just perfect timing.
Speaker BYeah, it was really special.
Speaker CIt was special.
Speaker CI'm also thankful for the episode that we're going into today.
Speaker ABut first, but what?
Speaker CWe need to talk about our fails.
Speaker BOh, okay.
Speaker BOkay, okay, okay.
Speaker CMine's not really a fail.
Speaker CMine's kind of stupid.
Speaker CSo I'll go first, and then you go run with yours.
Speaker BMine is really dumb, but okay.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ASo good.
Speaker CBecause it's, like, an actual fail, but, like, it's funny.
Speaker BOkay, okay.
Speaker CMine's really, like.
Speaker CI really don't have anything good.
Speaker CMine was.
Speaker CI don't like cats.
Speaker CI've never liked cats.
Speaker CBut then this, like, little, like, young, black cat just kind of walked onto the property the other day, and I fell in love with him.
Speaker CHe's got this, like, chopped tail.
Speaker CIt's not a bobt, but it's not a full tail.
Speaker CSo something happened to his tail.
Speaker CAnd he's just so adorable.
Speaker CHe's solid black, and I just love him so much.
Speaker CAnd I named him Jinx because I thought that that was the name of the cat in Hocus Pocus turn, which.
Speaker BWhen you told me that's why you named him that, I was like, oh, yeah.
Speaker BBecause I thought it was the name of the.
Speaker CMy neighbor did the same thing.
Speaker CThey're like, oh, like hocus pocus.
Speaker CAnd, you know, like, that's.
Speaker CYes, exactly.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CAnd then my sister comes over, and she goes, you know, it's Binks, Hannah.
Speaker CI was like, no, it's not.
Speaker AIt's Binks.
Speaker ABut to be.
Speaker CYeah, hilarious.
Speaker CI left it as Jinx.
Speaker AHis name is Jinx.
Speaker CAnd then, you know, Karma kind of hit because I accepted one cat and now there's two, so name that one Karma.
Speaker CThat's.
Speaker CI wonder if they're litter mate.
Speaker BOh, no, they're different.
Speaker ANo way.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CThe second one's, like, way younger.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CIt's so bizarre.
Speaker CI've noticed.
Speaker BShe friendly, like Jinx?
Speaker AOh, yeah.
Speaker CShe's.
Speaker CShe's more timid, but she is very friendly.
Speaker CAnd they.
Speaker CI don't know.
Speaker CShe's, like, afraid of him, and he's, like, a little rough, and I'm like, okay, well, I really love him, so this is gonna be a problem.
Speaker CLike, she's gonna have to see her way out.
Speaker ABut they'll figure it out.
Speaker CI'm hoping they do, because she's adorable.
Speaker BOh, what does she look like?
Speaker CShe's like, this little calico, and she.
Speaker CIt could turn out to be a boy.
Speaker CLike, again, when they're this young, you really can't tell.
Speaker CI think it's a girl, and I think it's Karma.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker BOh, you named her Karma.
Speaker CI did.
Speaker CKarma's a bitch.
Speaker CI accepted one cat, got another.
Speaker AI love it.
Speaker BThat's not a fail, in my opinion.
Speaker BWell, success.
Speaker BAnd I love.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker CMore to love.
Speaker CTrue fail is.
Speaker CIt was Binks, not Jinx.
Speaker BOh, that's the fail.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BThat's adorable.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker COkay, but tell yours, because it's so good.
Speaker CIt's like, is it best?
Speaker CThey.
Speaker BIt's really dumb, I think.
Speaker BOkay, guys, she's actually overhyping it.
Speaker BI'm worried you're not gonna make it.
Speaker CI think it's because it.
Speaker CLiterally, as you're telling me, I'm like, man, you.
Speaker CWhy do you and Courtney not hang out more?
Speaker CBecause it's like, you guys are the same person, and I think that's why I love it.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BI don't know why we don't either, because I love her, but.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BI was at the dog park the other day, and I feel like the people there are.
Speaker BYou can talk, you can make jokes, and people are always inappropriately, like, joking about.
Speaker COh, the dog's not even the one I'm talking about.
Speaker AWell, I'll get there.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BAnd so Then this dog came into the dog park and she had like these kind of swollen looking titties.
Speaker BAnd so.
Speaker BSo somebody was like, oh, has she had allure recently?
Speaker BAnd he's like, no, but I think she's about to go into cycle again.
Speaker BAnd I was like, oh, she's in.
Speaker BAnd I put my hands on my breast like this.
Speaker BAnd I was like, oh, she's in that, like swollen boob stage or tender breast stage or something.
Speaker BAnd everyone just stood there and I was just joking.
Speaker BI was trying to be funny.
Speaker BAnd everyone just like looked away and kind of kept talking.
Speaker BAnd I looked and I dropped my hand and I was like, yeah, that happened.
Speaker CYeah, yeah, that's exactly what would happen to me.
Speaker CI think it was funny.
Speaker CAnd since you said the word titty, I need to say now that I.
Speaker COkay, a word.
Speaker CA word that I have a hard time remembering how to spell for some reason is practitioner.
Speaker CAnd then I realized that there's titty in practitioner.
Speaker CAnd now I spell it right every time.
Speaker BThat's insane.
Speaker AI.
Speaker BThat is funny.
Speaker COkay, okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, continue.
Speaker BThe practitioner.
Speaker BPractitioner.
Speaker BNever mind.
Speaker BBut yeah, no, that's my fail.
Speaker BIt's always.
Speaker BAnd then.
Speaker BWell, are you talking about the ugly?
Speaker CThe better one.
Speaker BOkay, well, what's funny is I told her that story earlier.
Speaker BShe's like, you always have dog fails.
Speaker BAnd I was like, no, I don't.
Speaker BAnd when she said that, I remembered a memory that I had forgotten for years.
Speaker BWhen I was little, I was trying mine.
Speaker BWe had a golden retriever, and she had a litter of 13 puppies.
Speaker BAnd I remember thinking how she must be so tired because she was always working to feed them.
Speaker BAnd my dad caught me.
Speaker BI was must have been like 4 years old because maybe even younger.
Speaker BBut he came out where we were keeping the puppies and the dog, and he caught me with puppies, two puppies under my shirt, and I was trying to breastfeed them.
Speaker CAdorable.
Speaker BThat is not how it works.
Speaker CThat is so funny.
Speaker COh, so there is a. I do.
Speaker BHave a lot of dog fails.
Speaker CYou know what's funnier, though?
Speaker BWhat?
Speaker CThat's still not the one I want you to tell.
Speaker AWhat?
Speaker CThe one you told me last night?
Speaker BWhat happened last night?
Speaker CYou lost your keys.
Speaker BOh, my gosh, you guys, I do.
Speaker AHave a lot of dog.
Speaker CI am making you air out all the dirty laundry because this is the one I've been waiting for.
Speaker AOh, my gosh, it was awful.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker BAnd I even had a friend I was supposed to meet.
Speaker BShe was gonna Meet me at the shop.
Speaker BLuckily, she actually backed.
Speaker BNot backed out, but she ended up canceling.
Speaker BAnd so she wasn't here waiting for me.
Speaker BBut, yeah, I was at the dog park with Oliver last night, actually, and I went to get in the car, and the car was locked, and I couldn't get in.
Speaker BAnd I have, like, the kind where, like, the key fob, if you're close, you can push the button on the handle and it will unlock the door.
Speaker BAnd so I'm like, well, great, I lost my keys somewhere.
Speaker BAnd I thought, surely I'll just turn around and retrace my steps.
Speaker BI'll find them.
Speaker BWell, I didn't find them.
Speaker BAnd then I had, like, everybody in the dog park.
Speaker BThere were three other people, like, policing the whole area.
Speaker BThey were asking people if they'd seen keys.
Speaker BOh, looking everywhere for my keys.
Speaker BAnd then they were like, sorry, Melissa.
Speaker BAnd they ended up leaving.
Speaker BI mean, after, like, a good 30 minutes of searching.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker CThere's only so much you can do.
Speaker BExactly.
Speaker BAnd I was like, well, I guess I'll just call Jacob anyway and so don't, because they did offer me a ride.
Speaker BAnd I was like, well, I'm a call Jacob.
Speaker BAnd so I called him, and he's like, okay, yeah, I can go get you, but what are we going to do to fix this?
Speaker BLike, what are we going to do?
Speaker BYour car is there.
Speaker BAnd I was like, I don't even know right now.
Speaker BJust come get me.
Speaker BBecause it was starting to rain, so for, like, another 20 or 30 minutes.
Speaker BAnd at this point, it was dark and it was rainy, and I was just walking around in the rain with my flashlight, trying to find Jacob gets there, and he walks around for, like, five minutes.
Speaker BAnd then he goes, oh, here they are.
Speaker BSomebody had found them.
Speaker BAnd before we even started looking, I guess they had gone to the parking lot, figured out which car it went to, and they had tucked them, like, under the windshield wipers, like, down where they're, like, falling into the hood.
Speaker BAnd so I couldn't see them because it's a truck and I'm not.
Speaker BI'm not short.
Speaker BBut anyway, so thank goodness for Jacob and the kindness of his heart to come out in the rain.
Speaker BAnd he found them.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSo I guess the person hid them there so that they wouldn't get, like, stolen.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BBecause they didn't know who.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CThat's just a hard place, like, to put them there.
Speaker CLike, how are you supposed to know?
Speaker BRight?
Speaker BLike, if maybe if there was a note, but then that would defeat the purpose, too.
Speaker BLike, maybe somebody could steal.
Speaker BSo I know they did the right thing.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker BAnd I was looking everywhere, like, on the ground, under the tires, thinking, well, maybe if someone found them, they would, like, set them on top of a tire or under one or something.
Speaker CYeah, that's kind of what I was thinking.
Speaker CLike, on top of a tire.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BBut they're.
Speaker BYeah, so that happened, too.
Speaker CYou're welcome.
Speaker CGuys, you got three stories and Tricky Girl.
Speaker BI know.
Speaker CWell, you just am forgetting the one that I wanted.
Speaker CYou're like, I want to picture hell out of you.
Speaker BI did.
Speaker CI did.
Speaker CI kept.
Speaker CThat's not the one I want, Melissa.
Speaker BLike, I didn't even have to tell.
Speaker AYou guys I was breastfeeding puppies from the age of four.
Speaker ANope.
Speaker CNo, I didn't.
Speaker CYou volunteered that one.
Speaker COh, okay.
Speaker CSo in our first episode of this season, I think you guys heard us talk about some of the episodes that really touched us, and this is actually one of them, because this is one with astrology scientists.
Speaker CIs that kind of how you explain her?
Speaker BI would call her an astrologist, I guess.
Speaker CAn astrologist.
Speaker CThat sounds very professional and logical.
Speaker CI like it.
Speaker BBut we loved her.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BWas so good at, like, just teaching us things as if we were five.
Speaker BBecause we needed it.
Speaker BWe needed.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker CAnd then all of a sudden, we were like, hold up.
Speaker CLet's, like, is there, like, a tangible example?
Speaker CAnd she takes one, and it's about us, and she runs with it.
Speaker CAnd we just learned.
Speaker CI don't know if it's that we learn so much.
Speaker CIt's that it feels so good to, like, be seen and, like, have something reflected what we're trying to do.
Speaker BExactly.
Speaker BShe was amazing.
Speaker CAnd actually, I have been.
Speaker CI have already recorded to be on her podcast, so when that comes out, I'll let you guys know.
Speaker CAnd, Melissa, you're supposed to reach out.
Speaker BI need to get on.
Speaker BI get it.
Speaker BGet on that.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CSo, yay, Our first guesting appearance.
Speaker BTake it away, Laura.
Speaker CToday we have with us Laura Allen.
Speaker CShe's an artist host in scientist, which is a whole big realm of things, and she's going to tell us all about it.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AI'm an artist.
Speaker AI paint, I write books, I. I'm a hula dancer.
Speaker AA bunch of things in, like, the artistic realm that before I wasn't able to do growing up, I was always.
Speaker AI was.
Speaker AI was accelerated in math, so it was always about math and, like, being good at math and all of, like, like, the hard stuff with, like, academia, like, really.
Speaker BSure.
Speaker AAnd devoting myself to it.
Speaker AAnd so now I get to, like, have fun and do all my artistic things.
Speaker AI have two podcasts, so that's what the host comes in.
Speaker AAnd then with the scientist part, I'm getting my PhD right now in education, and I'm focusing on everything.
Speaker ASo I just love everything.
Speaker AAnd before, when I started this project, it was really looking at what the purpose of education was.
Speaker ASo that's why I was trying to, like, bring in all these different academic subjects.
Speaker ABut I found out what the purpose of education is.
Speaker AIt's to connect.
Speaker ASo the reason why we learn about plants is to connect with plants.
Speaker AWhen we learn about cars, connect with cars, whatever we learn, it's to connect with it.
Speaker ASo that then what I've learned is that it's like a mirror of learning within ourself.
Speaker ASo then I went whole, like, rabbit hole of like, okay, well, then who am I?
Speaker AI've always just been devoted to academia.
Speaker AWho is all of this?
Speaker AAnd so that's how I started piecing everything together.
Speaker BWow, that's beautiful.
Speaker AI'm looking at how.
Speaker AI'm looking at 16 different ways of knowing, and then how it can inform us to make better decisions.
Speaker ASo that's.
Speaker BWhat do you mean, 16 different ways of knowing?
Speaker BAs in, like, different learning styles?
Speaker ANo.
Speaker ASo back in the, like, in the 1700s, there was a huge debate on do we know things based on logic?
Speaker ALike, if we can logically prove something, that's how we know that it's real versus using our senses.
Speaker AAnd then that's how we know that it's real.
Speaker AOkay, but our senses can sometimes trip us up or not be.
Speaker AWe could just get fooled with by our senses.
Speaker AIt's true.
Speaker AThen it only went back to the rationality.
Speaker ABut sometimes things don't make sense, but they're still true.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AAnd then that's how I started bringing intuition.
Speaker ASo on my podcast, it's called Hila Radio, and we look at all ways of knowing.
Speaker ABut really looking at intuition, what I've discovered by having guests on is that there's so many different ways of intuition.
Speaker AAnd some people even say, like, intuition, same as instinct.
Speaker AAnd I'm like, I don't think so.
Speaker AI think those are two separate things.
Speaker AAnd so that's piecing it together.
Speaker AAnd now it's like this.
Speaker AThis whole chart where I included the astrology in there, I included life themes, and then also understanding the soul, mind, body, and spiritual and how they interact with each other within us.
Speaker ASo it's like a thing now.
Speaker BOh, my gosh.
Speaker BI feel like I told like an episode with you?
Speaker BYes.
Speaker CAnd a fifth and a sixth.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BAnyways, like, right, just then, you literally were talking for two minutes, and I had, like, a million questions.
Speaker BI'm like, oh, no, we're never going to get through.
Speaker COh, right.
Speaker CMy jaw dropped and I was like, oh, my God, I know nothing about astrology.
Speaker CLike, as Melissa's giving me her, like, base knowledge of astrology, I'm like, which is little.
Speaker CLike, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Speaker CSo I was like.
Speaker BI was like, so, yeah, I'm kind of curious about how do you know?
Speaker BLike, so I know.
Speaker BLike, you know.
Speaker BOkay, for instance, I was born a Taurus.
Speaker BI'm a Taurus.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker BBut I think it goes deeper.
Speaker BWell, I know it goes deeper than that.
Speaker BI just don't know how.
Speaker BBut, like, okay, it has to do with, like, what House was your son in and your moon in when you.
Speaker CAnd then she was like, then you're assigned an element.
Speaker CAnd I was like, like an Earth element.
Speaker CAnd she was like, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BI didn't say that mean.
Speaker CYou did not.
Speaker CI was like, we do.
Speaker AWe are assigned those.
Speaker AAll of these things for sure.
Speaker ASo I could talk about how it.
Speaker AHow astrology.
Speaker AHow I started, like, with astrology and all that.
Speaker ABecause I agree with you.
Speaker ALike, I'm a Leo.
Speaker AMy birthday was just on Friday.
Speaker BHappy birthday.
Speaker AThank you.
Speaker AAnd I was.
Speaker AEveryone around me that was a Leo.
Speaker AI'm like, we're both Leos, but we're not the same.
Speaker ALike, I have this else that has to be true in order for.
Speaker AFor this to work.
Speaker AAnd so that's why I started digging deeper.
Speaker AAnd so there are nine planets that influence us.
Speaker AAnd there's actually probably more, like, different asteroids out there.
Speaker AThere's different things.
Speaker ALike, Chiron's an asteroid.
Speaker BI was gonna ask.
Speaker BI said Chiron.
Speaker BI mentioned it.
Speaker CI was like, I have no idea.
Speaker BBut I don't know anything about it.
Speaker BPeople talk about it all the time.
Speaker BIt'.
Speaker AAsteroid.
Speaker AYeah, it's an asteroid.
Speaker AAnd so it's a healer.
Speaker AAnd so wherever.
Speaker AThe reason why it's so important is because it shows where you're most wounded so that you can heal yourself.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AAnd then that's why Melissa Walker was.
Speaker BTalking about it, because she's a therapist.
Speaker BShe's really interested in trauma.
Speaker BThat's why she likes.
Speaker COh, she is.
Speaker BThe trauma.
Speaker BIt's kind of coming together.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo that's the Chiron, but there's all these planets and then the houses.
Speaker AAnd so it's like.
Speaker ALike a Little puzzle where you have a house, you have a planet, and then you have an element or you also have a zodiac sign.
Speaker ASo all the different things kind of mesh together and then create you.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker ASo that's like the.
Speaker AThe basis of astrology.
Speaker AAnd that's why it can't be, like, scientifically proven, because we would need like a million of you with different birth times.
Speaker CWhat's really, really you?
Speaker AAnd what's the influence of the planets?
Speaker CRight.
Speaker ASo that's where that from.
Speaker AAnd then with the houses.
Speaker ASo I see them as like different sections of humanity.
Speaker ASo that's why I use them as a framework for my.
Speaker AFor my PhD work.
Speaker ABecause if I'm trying to bring everything together, I had to have some kind of, like, space to put it in.
Speaker AAnd so astrology, it walks you through life.
Speaker ASo the beginning with Aries, first house, it's about yourself.
Speaker AIt's about how you grew up, how you keep that childhood curiosity and excitement as an Aries does.
Speaker ASo that's why Aries now, as adults, they're known as being impulsive or being too ambitious.
Speaker AThings like this or leadership, because it all comes back to the beginning.
Speaker AWhereas Pisces is the end of the zodiac.
Speaker AAnd it's supposed to be somebody who brings everything together, who sees the collective as a whole.
Speaker AThat's what they say.
Speaker AJesus is a Pisces because really brought everybody together and tried to feel like humanity.
Speaker COkay, okay, so.
Speaker AAnd then in between.
Speaker ALet's just go.
Speaker AIt's halfway Libra.
Speaker ALibra is about connection with yourself.
Speaker ASo if we start at the beginning, Aries, connection with yourself, Libra, connection with others, and then Pisces, connection with the world.
Speaker BSo that's what, like, each of these signs, like, represent.
Speaker BOh, but we all have part of, like, that part.
Speaker AWe all have all of them.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AEvery single one.
Speaker BWow.
Speaker BSee, this is where my mind is starting to be blown, because I've always been like, okay, all I know about astrology is I'm a Taurus, and I am one thing that I can really relate to as far as Taurus goes.
Speaker BSuper earthy, super loyal, and probably stubborn.
Speaker BBut, like, I mean, other than that, I don't know.
Speaker BSo you're saying it's more than just you have everything in you.
Speaker BOne of the things that I was thinking was when you start thinking about your signs and stuff, and you want to go to an astrologist and ask questions, you want to ask.
Speaker BOkay, you don't want to say particular, just what is the right thing for me to do, but maybe like, hey, with the way my house is set up, how can I accomplish these things that I want to accomplish?
Speaker BBecause it's like you're, you're saying it's not predestiny.
Speaker BWe're not like, oh, every Capricorn has this talent and should do this.
Speaker BYou're just saying there are some strengths that you could have and it can help you in this way.
Speaker CExactly, yeah.
Speaker APeople like to use it as kind of like a map.
Speaker ALike, okay, these are, these are the, the strengths that I have now and these are the ones I will have in the future.
Speaker ASo let me start working towards them.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ABut I see that kind of like a self fulfilling prophecy.
Speaker BOh, yeah.
Speaker AI really use astrology as just a way of learning more about myself.
Speaker ALike, it's still a way for me to understand myself and to see, like, how I can uplift people or how I can connect with them, how I can show my love.
Speaker BOkay, I have another question.
Speaker BSo say what makes me a Taurus?
Speaker BVersus I hear some people say, well, you're a Taurus, but you haven't this leaning or I don't know, like, why do we just go by the bay?
Speaker BIs that the whole chart that we're going by?
Speaker AWhen you, when we have like the differentiations of like, oh, you're Taurus, but this.
Speaker AThen yeah, you're looking at the whole.
Speaker COh, but if you just say you're.
Speaker AA Taurus, that just means that your son is in Taurus.
Speaker BYour son.
Speaker BOkay, yeah.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker BWhen you were born.
Speaker AWhen you were born.
Speaker BBut now it could be somewhere else.
Speaker AOh, no, your son's always going to be in Taurus.
Speaker AYeah, that's always in Taurus with the progress chart.
Speaker AIt depends degrees.
Speaker ASo let's say.
Speaker ASo for instance, I have my moon at 29 degrees in Sagittarius.
Speaker ASo in the progress chart it would be like maybe like 3 degrees in Capricorn because it's always moving.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BInteresting.
Speaker BAnd then you have to learn.
Speaker BDo you have to memorize all that stuff?
Speaker CYou're like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker AThat's what I loved about astrology too, is that it was so.
Speaker AIt wasn't like I had to sit down and study or read all these books.
Speaker AIt was just like picking it up as I went along, like reading a little bit here, a little bit there.
Speaker ABut it wasn't even like reading books.
Speaker AI would read a little bit and then apply it to my life and say, okay, like, is this actually working?
Speaker AWhat is, what does it mean?
Speaker AThat kind of thing.
Speaker AAnd like really be checking it As I went along.
Speaker ABecause when I first started, I was kind of trying to disprove it because I was.
Speaker ALike I said I was so into academia.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker AI only knew about Leo sons.
Speaker AAnd I'm like, okay, that's not true, because I don't do this, this, and this, like other Leo sons.
Speaker ABut then that's when I had to start digging deeper and deeper.
Speaker AI'm like, oh, okay.
Speaker AThere's this whole world to.
Speaker BInteresting.
Speaker AAnd so I.
Speaker AThat's how I learned it.
Speaker AJust a little by little and really applying it to myself and then applying it to the people in my life so that I'm.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker CSo one of the things you brought up when we had our pre.
Speaker CConversation was that you need to create roots that are true to you and not what other people say.
Speaker ASo how.
Speaker CHow have you.
Speaker CAnd how does one create the roots that they're meant to have?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo going back to Renee Descartes from the 1500s, he said that the only way that we know what's real is the things that.
Speaker ABecause our mind is working and because we can see that things exist.
Speaker ASo his thing is I am, therefore I exist.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker AOr I think, therefore.
Speaker CYou know who that is, Melissa?
Speaker CLike, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BHe's a philosopher.
Speaker COh, okay.
Speaker CI haven't.
Speaker CSo.
Speaker CBut I saw your face change, and so I was like, oh, Melissa knows about this?
Speaker BYes.
Speaker CYeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BSo, like, I think therefore I am.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker AYeah, exactly.
Speaker AI think therefore I am.
Speaker AAnd so he had to, like, basically spill out all of his belief system and see, okay, why do I believe this?
Speaker AIs this true?
Speaker AIs this not true?
Speaker AAnd so at the end of that, that's how he came up with the I think, therefore I am.
Speaker ASo when I did it, it was right after or it was during COVID because I met this guy, and four months later, we were engaged.
Speaker AAnd a little after that, we were married.
Speaker AAnd my whole, like, support system freaked out at me.
Speaker AAnd they were like, this is the wrong guy.
Speaker ALike, you shouldn't be with him.
Speaker AWe've been married now.
Speaker AIt's gonna be six years, so congratulations.
Speaker ASo it ends up being good.
Speaker ABut it was because of that that I was like, okay.
Speaker ALike, I know in my heart that he's the right guy, but everyone's saying that it's wrong, that it's false.
Speaker ASo I think that's kind of how all of this came up, too, with, like, the beginning, what I was talking about, the different ways of knowing that, like, the chart lights up with the ways of knowing, but it's just those Two, that what the world sees that says that, no, like, on paper, it would never work, but in actuality, it has been working.
Speaker ASo I had to really dump out every single belief system that I had about love.
Speaker AAbout the same time I was in that.
Speaker AMy PhD program, and I was thinking about quitting because I was getting all into the spiritual stuff.
Speaker ASo I'm like, how can I be spiritual and an academic?
Speaker ALike, that doesn't really make sense.
Speaker ASo all of this was happening at the same time that Granite Spirits came up.
Speaker ASo it was, like, really trying to embrace myself as an oxymoron.
Speaker AAnd now I'm seeing that everybody's multi.
Speaker AMulti dimensional.
Speaker AEverybody has an oxymoron.
Speaker AEverybody has.
Speaker BAnd they work together.
Speaker BYeah, let them.
Speaker AIf you let them.
Speaker AThat's the thing, is that we're constantly fighting with ourselves.
Speaker ALike, our head and our hearts are fighting or, like, are fighting with.
Speaker AWith the other parts of ourselves.
Speaker AAnd I.
Speaker AThat's why I created the chart, so that we can, like, see all the different parts of ourselves so that we know who is fighting with who.
Speaker BSo, wait, you created a chart of your own?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BOh, tell us about that.
Speaker BI think I didn't understand that.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker AI didn't realize at the beginning the 16 different ways of knowing that.
Speaker AOkay, is that what you were saying?
Speaker BBecause I was just about to ask you.
Speaker BYou said, like, everybody's telling me no, but they're just looking at.
Speaker BOn paper and like, head in the heart.
Speaker BI'm looking at the chart, and it all was lighting up.
Speaker BSaying, this is Right.
Speaker BWhat ways?
Speaker BWhat were you seeing on your.
Speaker BWhat was your.
Speaker CYeah, that's a great question.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CBecause what's lighting up?
Speaker CWhen you're like.
Speaker CIt's lighting up.
Speaker CYou're not talking about just, like, in your brain and in your heart, it's lighting up.
Speaker CYou're talking about.
Speaker CYou followed your six various modalities.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker AOh, well, at the time, it was.
Speaker AI just created this, like, it's.
Speaker AIt's gonna be a book that's coming out soon, but it's not like it's been through trying to figure this out that I've been able to create the chart.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker BOkay, so, like, what was lighting up for you?
Speaker ASo for me, it was like, the.
Speaker AThe negative parts of the parts that like to say this.
Speaker BThis is right.
Speaker BIt's okay.
Speaker AGo against.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CLike, the green.
Speaker CBecause a lot of times, especially, like, we do a lot of work with, like, domestic violence and stuff, and it's like, oh, if your friends are telling you these are red Flags.
Speaker CThis is bad.
Speaker CLike, you should probably listen to your friends when they're all telling you something, but what you're saying is that all of your friends and family were like, hey, this isn't right.
Speaker CLike, this is too fast.
Speaker CBut you went against that, and it was exactly what you were meant to do and supposed to do, and you're happy and thriving.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker CYeah, I'd love to know how.
Speaker CLike, how you knew.
Speaker CYeah, like the difference.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo my chart, it combines the soul, mind, body and spirit, and then the four disciplines.
Speaker AAnd so for me, the two main ones that really lit up were.
Speaker AWait, what are the.
Speaker BWhat are the four disciplines?
Speaker BJust for those who don't know, like.
Speaker AMyself, the natural sciences, the social sciences, the humanities, and the arts.
Speaker BThank you.
Speaker BOkay, perfect.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo the body of the soul is expression.
Speaker ASo if you think about our soul, if we were to think about our soul having a body, it would be the express how we express ourselves.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker AAnd the way of knowing is somatic.
Speaker ASo when you feel it inside, like, your body feels good doing this.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker AThe somatic part, then the academic subject related to it is the performing arts.
Speaker ASo like theater, dance, I would even say, like, entrepreneurship, leadership, like getting up and like, speaking or like using your body to express, like, that kind of stuff.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AAnd then the astrology sign is Leo.
Speaker ASo shining bright, all of that.
Speaker ASo like with my husband, he.
Speaker AHe allows me to.
Speaker ATo shine bright.
Speaker AHe doesn't put me in a box too.
Speaker ALike, you can only do this.
Speaker AHe allows me to, like, spread out and like, what we're talking about earlier with the roots, to go deep with things and to really build these sturdy roots so that the found.
Speaker ASo now, now the foundation is, like, set for us to be able to, like, live out our dreams.
Speaker ASo that was a really big one with the belief system.
Speaker ASo that one's more intuitive where if someone tells you something, it's up to you to check within and think, like, is this true?
Speaker AIs this not true?
Speaker AI always like to use, like, short and tall.
Speaker ABecause, you know, if you're short or you're tall, anything that can be.
Speaker AYeah, so someone.
Speaker BIt could be measured.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ALike, if someone were to call me short, I'm really tall.
Speaker ASo if someone were to call me, sure, I'd be like, no, I know that's not true.
Speaker ASo it doesn't matter.
Speaker ABut if someone were to call me dumb, then I'd be like, oh, like, am I dumb?
Speaker ALike, you'd be rethinking it and so, like, that kind of thing.
Speaker ASo that's like where it really hit hard with me with my husband.
Speaker AWas that what everybody else was saying?
Speaker AIt didn't feel like how inside it felt like what they were saying was wrong.
Speaker ALike if they were saying that he's short, he's really tall too.
Speaker ASo it's like if everyone was calling him short when I know that he's not short.
Speaker ASo like that's where that one came in.
Speaker AThat's cancer.
Speaker ACancer is naturally rules the moon.
Speaker ASo the moon is the sign of your internal world.
Speaker AYour intuition, your emotions are also part of that.
Speaker CAnd where did the cancer come in for you?
Speaker BI was gonna say how did you attach.
Speaker BLike earlier you said that was Leo and this is cancer.
Speaker BHow do you attaching.
Speaker CAre these your like specific elements or.
Speaker AOh, no, this is the general for everybody.
Speaker BSo you're just saying these are like aspects of a cancer is like to.
Speaker BLike you said, Leo is helping you shine bright.
Speaker BAnd so what makes that the case?
Speaker BIt's just because Leo, that's what it embodies with cancer.
Speaker ACancer.
Speaker AI was saying that it rules the moon and things.
Speaker ASo it is about like really tapping in and feeling.
Speaker AAnd then with the belief systems, cancers can I always feel like a little crab where they're really about protecting the inner and pushing out the outer.
Speaker AAnd so when we see this in society, it's like when people groups come together and like, oh, you're not part of us.
Speaker ASo like you can't be part of this.
Speaker ASo that's where I was saying with cancer, and this is the body of the mind.
Speaker ASo with cancer, it's knowing what is.
Speaker AHow do I say this?
Speaker AThe mind.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker ASo when we think about conceptualize what a mind is, some people would say that it is you and other people say it's the body.
Speaker AAnd so like that's where a lot of like the.
Speaker AThe fight comes in.
Speaker ABut if you think about the mind as a body, it would be the belief systems.
Speaker AIt would be.
Speaker AThis is what I believe and this is how I'm acting.
Speaker ASo like the body is going to follow whatever the belief systems are in place.
Speaker AAnd so that's why cancer would come in.
Speaker AWould come in there.
Speaker CI think that we're confused on.
Speaker CSo are.
Speaker CAre we hearing that like we are all the signs?
Speaker AYeah, you're all of them.
Speaker COh, okay.
Speaker CSo where we have all of the signs and then those signs.
Speaker CSigns mean something different that pertain to you.
Speaker CSo for you, you were saying that for you the cancer represents the mind, the belief system.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker CYeah, yeah.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker CAnd you were Saying that.
Speaker CWhat the Leo for you means that that's, like, your light up.
Speaker AYeah, but that's for everybody.
Speaker AWherever it is that you have Leo, that's where you shine.
Speaker AThat's where you light up.
Speaker BGot you.
Speaker CWhat do you mean when you say that?
Speaker CLike, wherever that is.
Speaker AWhatever.
Speaker AWherever House.
Speaker AWhatever house that you have.
Speaker AIt.
Speaker ALet's.
Speaker ALet's look at, like, the chart for today.
Speaker ALike, out, like.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ABecause.
Speaker BOkay, so not.
Speaker BI'm not trying to take us on a different tangent, but because you can also, like, use charts for businesses and, like, relationships.
Speaker CBesides, just when you say business, like, the day you've, like, launched it, like, that would be like the.
Speaker AThat's the.
Speaker AThat's the date that you'd put into the.
Speaker COh, yeah.
Speaker BBecause I wanted to, like, kind of.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BI was thinking about.
Speaker BFor you and I. Sam.
Speaker CYeah, that would be really fascinating.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ABut.
Speaker BOkay, so, like, do you guess.
Speaker BLet's look at today right now?
Speaker AWe.
Speaker CWe did January 2, 2024.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BIn Suwanee, Georgia.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CYou're smart.
Speaker AYou are, too.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker COh, okay.
Speaker ASo talking about cancer and the moon, that it naturally rules for you guys, it rules in virgo in the 12th house.
Speaker ASo what this means is that you guys, like, getting into, like, the.
Speaker AThe dark and the unknown.
Speaker ASo bring it out into the lights.
Speaker BIt's so true.
Speaker BThat's what we wanted our podcast to be about.
Speaker CI don't understand this.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd then the Virgo means that you want to help.
Speaker AYou want to be a service to, like, help people as they listen to it.
Speaker CI'm, like, sweating what we said we wanted to do.
Speaker BIt just seems like magic, what's going on.
Speaker AThat's why, like, when I first started getting into.
Speaker AI'm like, there's no way.
Speaker AAnd then it just keeps happening over and over and over again.
Speaker AThat's why I had my whole show about it, and every time, it always hits.
Speaker BSo, wait, so why did you decide to look at where cancer was and where Virgo is?
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AOh, that was just the first thing that popped up to me on here.
Speaker BInteresting.
Speaker AYeah, but.
Speaker ABut, like, I could go into the other ones.
Speaker ALet's see.
Speaker CYeah, let's do it.
Speaker AOkay, so you have.
Speaker AOh, this is cool.
Speaker ASo Sagittarius in the third house, it means that it's like, Sagittarius looks like an arrow.
Speaker ASo I always say it's like a straight shooter.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AWhen they're ready to commit.
Speaker ASo it.
Speaker AThe third house is like how.
Speaker AHow you are seen by the outside world, and so you Have Venus, Mercury, and Mars all in this house.
Speaker ASo what that means is Venus is about love.
Speaker AMercury is about communication, and Mars is about, like, action, but also, like, motivation or drive.
Speaker AAnd all of this is coming together to say that you are seen as somebody.
Speaker AOh, okay.
Speaker AThis is kind of like you guys are like, the, the ones that are, you know, people say, jump on the bandwagon.
Speaker AYeah, I mean, the bandwagon.
Speaker AAnd, like, people are, like, jumping on to, like, how you feel.
Speaker AGood.
Speaker AOh, my God.
Speaker CThat is interesting.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker CFun.
Speaker COh, my God.
Speaker CI'm gonna start using that, like, in our, Like.
Speaker COh, maybe our season three intro will be.
Speaker COr wait, no, we are in season three, four.
Speaker COur fourth intro will be something about, like, jump on our bandwagon.
Speaker CThat's right.
Speaker BSo, okay, so now.
Speaker BOkay, so I, I, I'm starting to, like, get more of a clear picture because you're talking about.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BVenus means love.
Speaker BThis means so this.
Speaker BAnd I'm kind of understanding that a little bit way.
Speaker BAnd I understand how you said the houses are kind of like how the sky is divided up.
Speaker BBut what does each house kind of stand for, too?
Speaker BLike, what makes you know that?
Speaker BOh, that stuff in the third house means this.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker AI like to memorize it by, like, a few words so I can go through them really fast.
Speaker ASo the house is about yourself.
Speaker AThe second house is about your values and, like, financial.
Speaker AThird house is about, like, how you're seen in the outside world, but it's also, like, early childhood, especially with school and with siblings and communication.
Speaker AThe fourth house is about family, and that's where the roots are built.
Speaker AAnd so if you didn't grow up in a good family, those roots are really small.
Speaker ASo then it's up to you, when you're an adult, to build those deep roots.
Speaker ABut that's also why the ic.
Speaker ASo the bottom of the chart in the fourth house, it represents the lowest part of the chart.
Speaker AI think it got really dark all of a sudden.
Speaker BBut no, this is interesting.
Speaker BThank you.
Speaker AThat's all in the fourth house.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AGetting dark and.
Speaker CYeah, like, the negative.
Speaker AWell, it's interesting because in your, in your guys's chart, you guys have Capricorn.
Speaker AAnd so Capricorn is about, like, you guys.
Speaker APeople might be, like, drowning, and you, like, lift them up.
Speaker BOh, I'm gonna cry.
Speaker CThat's a.
Speaker ABecause you have Pluto here, too.
Speaker ASo you're about deep transformation.
Speaker CThat's all we wanted.
Speaker CLike, we've deeply Transformate.
Speaker CTransformed.
Speaker CI know I have for sure.
Speaker CI know that I've been enlightened through this.
Speaker CAnd, like, that's what we hope is we really hope that people, they listen to us and they're inspired to change into whatever it is that they have been thinking or wanting to be.
Speaker AYeah, that's true.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd so that's definitely Capricorn.
Speaker ACapricorn's an ambitious sign.
Speaker AAnd like you said earlier, the leadership.
Speaker ABut I always see it as, like, a mountain.
Speaker AAnd so since in the fourth house.
Speaker AThe fourth house is typically a water sign.
Speaker ASo it's like this mountain in the sea.
Speaker AAnd so people are coming out of the sea and onto the mountain.
Speaker BLike, so beautiful.
Speaker BLike a landing pad.
Speaker BA safe space.
Speaker AExactly.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BThat's what we said too, from the beginning, huh, Sam?
Speaker BWe wanted to be a safe space to talk about things that are difficult.
Speaker CThis is what we needed to, like, kind of piece it all together.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker AThank you.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CNow it's making sense.
Speaker BOkay, so how many houses are there?
Speaker A12.
Speaker AThere's 12.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker AYeah, I'm halfway done.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BShe's at 4.
Speaker BYou're at 5 now.
Speaker BYeah, I'm writing them down because.
Speaker CWait, so you said our dark house, like, wasn't even dark.
Speaker COur dark house was that, like, we save, like, we want to be us.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo you guys are lucky that all of the.
Speaker AThe water signs there, that are typically water signs here, they're Earth signs.
Speaker ASo it, like, balances you out nicely.
Speaker COh, okay.
Speaker BInteresting.
Speaker CI love that.
Speaker ASo the fifth house is expression.
Speaker AThe way that you express yourself, like, love.
Speaker AIt's also, like, with children and, like, finding your inner child and taking care of your inner child.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker AThe sixth house is about routine, about work, your day to day.
Speaker AIt's also health.
Speaker AThe seventh house is about relationship.
Speaker ALike, one on one relationship specifically.
Speaker ATypically, people like to say that it's marriage, but I say it's also like business, financial.
Speaker AAny pairing where it's one on one is the seventh house.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker AThe eighth house is about the taboo stuff, like sex, drugs.
Speaker COoh, what are we?
Speaker ASo you have Taurus here, and Taurus, as you know, is about being loyal and stubborn.
Speaker ABut you also have Jupiter here, and Jupiter is about expansion.
Speaker ASo it's kind of like the more that you talk about these taboo subjects, the more that you'll expand.
Speaker AJoseph and Luran is here, and that one is about, like.
Speaker ALike a revolution.
Speaker AIt's like switching things up and, like, changing the way that people typically see these things.
Speaker BOh, nice.
Speaker CThis is amazing.
Speaker AOkay, then the ninth house is about higher learning.
Speaker ASo it could be higher learning, like, in school, but it could also be like a spiritual higher learning or just like learning in general.
Speaker AIt's also traveling, languages, foreign languages, things like that.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AThe tenth house is legacy, reputation, your career, how you're seen in the public eye.
Speaker BHow would you say that's different from the third house?
Speaker CI was just gonna say that.
Speaker AWhich is different than the third house because the third house is your initiation, your opening.
Speaker AWhereas the tenth house is more like this is your long standing legacy.
Speaker AAfter we're all dead and gone, what is remains?
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AOkay, thank you.
Speaker COh, what is ours?
Speaker CWhat's going to remain?
Speaker AThis is so sweet.
Speaker AIt's in cancer.
Speaker ASo it's like that nurturing, like nurturing like the love, compassion, taking care of one another, that kind of stuff.
Speaker BOh, I love anything.
Speaker AThen the 11th house is community.
Speaker ABut it's also like dreams, aspirations, like getting yours, like elevating, getting to the next level.
Speaker AAnd the 12th house is like your subconscious, your dreams.
Speaker AYeah, that's about it.
Speaker AOh.
Speaker ALike spirituality is also in there.
Speaker CBut I feel like that house, that is a composite of all of them, right?
Speaker CYeah, that's kind of what it sounds like to me.
Speaker CBecause it sounds like we hit like.
Speaker CYeah, okay.
Speaker BWow.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BSo I'm feeling like I'm finally kind of.
Speaker BSome of the stuff we were talking about earlier is making more sense.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker CSo examples.
Speaker CIt is, it is.
Speaker CUsually we operate off of examples.
Speaker CSo I'm really glad that we moved into this direction because it's really, really clicking.
Speaker CSo we just said that a good way to look at it is that it's like, you know, a collective.
Speaker CCollective.
Speaker CCollective.
Speaker CAnd then a composite of everything that like went through.
Speaker CSo if I had to guess again, I'm not going to know, like, because I don't know anything what is in that last one.
Speaker CBut if I had to guess whatever you would have to tell us, it would be something off of things, off of being inspirational.
Speaker CGrowth, love, happy.
Speaker CLike, if I had to guess, like, that's what you would tell us.
Speaker AWould sometimes.
Speaker ABecause with the 12th house, it encompasses everything like what we were saying, so you could see it in the positive light.
Speaker ABut then the other way to see it would be like in.
Speaker AIn Stranger Things, like the Upside down world.
Speaker AOh.
Speaker ABecause it's the shadow side of the first house.
Speaker ASo the way.
Speaker ASo like the circle, it doesn't go a circle like a clock.
Speaker AIt doesn't.
Speaker AIt starts here.
Speaker ASo it's 1:12 on this side.
Speaker AAnd then it goes 1, 2, 7.
Speaker CKind of upside down.
Speaker BLike the dark tarot and the shadow Work.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BLike knowing how to like work like taking the negative things but like knowing how to work with them for yourself.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ATo make them into a positive.
Speaker ASo that's why like I kind of agree with you, Sam.
Speaker CBut no, that makes sense.
Speaker ALike then the negative side in there too to see how.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BRemind me example.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CRemind me what our one was and then remind me how that.
Speaker ASo your one is in Libra.
Speaker ASo Libra super bubbly.
Speaker AExactly.
Speaker BLike one is like the self right.
Speaker ATo your show in the first place.
Speaker AOh, how fun and bubbly you both are.
Speaker AAnd then like the dark side would be Virgo.
Speaker AWhich Virgos.
Speaker ALike, the dark side of them is like they want to be perfectionists.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AThat will like that's a free at all same from doing it.
Speaker ABut because you have Lilith here.
Speaker ALilith is.
Speaker AActs like a little bubble.
Speaker AI like Lilith.
Speaker BI like that name.
Speaker BI feel like she's.
Speaker BIs it.
Speaker BShe kind of like mischievous.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo the reason why I call it a bubble is because you have to pop it in order to like, let all of like your mischievousness come out and like be proud of it and not be ashamed of it.
Speaker BOkay, interesting.
Speaker BSo what's in our 12th house?
Speaker BIf we're going back to our example.
Speaker BLilith.
Speaker BThat's where.
Speaker BYeah, that's.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker COh, yeah.
Speaker CI asked how like what was our first house and how does that reflect into like our negative quote unquote, the last house.
Speaker ABut because you're so light and airy, you wouldn't assume like it just look.
Speaker ALooking at the picture, you wouldn't assume that you dig into these deep.
Speaker AThat's so true too.
Speaker AAnd so that's my whole life.
Speaker BPeople are like, you're not what we thought you were.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CAnd then our name is like an oxymoron.
Speaker CIs how I explain it to people.
Speaker CBecause like the people who don't get it immediately because a lot.
Speaker CSome people, a lot of people like her.
Speaker CSo skirts up, then get it immediately.
Speaker CAnd then others are like, but why like, you know, like show like showing people your underwear.
Speaker CI'm like, no, like, like kind of like digging in you in the normal, like, you know concepts like we can.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker CDig in, do hard work.
Speaker CAnd like we can just do all things.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AVery cool.
Speaker CThat was really fascinating.
Speaker ASo now let me share my.
Speaker AOh, there's no sharing.
Speaker AI was like, let me share my chart so you can.
Speaker ASo that I can actually make it.
Speaker BSam, make it so she can share.
Speaker CCan I do that?
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CThis is awesome.
Speaker BI would love to have you back.
Speaker AYeah, let's be back having some.
Speaker BThat would be amazing.
Speaker CI'm so glad, like, we.
Speaker CYou know, it shifted into, like, really being able to grasp it, because now it's making so much sense, and now.
Speaker BIt'S, like, I'm understanding it more than.
Speaker CI ever have, and now it's, like, feeding that curiosity of, like, wow.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CSo there's this to learn about.
Speaker CThere's this to dig into.
Speaker CAnd so now it's, like, creating that picture of, like, curiosity that, like, we have to look into.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AOoh.
Speaker BThe people who, like, have our Patreon or whatnot are going to be able to get this chart.
Speaker BThis is interesting.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker CIf you're okay with us sharing it there.
Speaker AYeah, of course.
Speaker ASo the top part is, like, the ways of knowing.
Speaker ASo, like, archetypal.
Speaker AThis is, like, where astrology came in.
Speaker AI put influencers because I thought about, like, religion is in here, astrology is in here.
Speaker AActual, like, influencers are in here.
Speaker AAnd like, even, like.
Speaker CWait, remind me what this chart is.
Speaker CI'm sorry.
Speaker CThis is the one you created.
Speaker AThis is the one I created.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CAnd you called it.
Speaker CWhat do you call it?
Speaker AI call it the Ornelian framework.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker ASo why.
Speaker BHow.
Speaker BOkay, how did you get Arnelian?
Speaker AOh, that's my.
Speaker AMy husband's last name.
Speaker AOh.
Speaker ALove it.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CI love that.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CAnd this chart tells us.
Speaker AIt explains everything.
Speaker ASo we could look at it like.
Speaker ASo let me go through the parts first, and then it'll make more sense.
Speaker BPlease.
Speaker ASo the first part is the ways of knowing.
Speaker ASo, like, when we think about, like, a mystical way of knowing, it could be, like, a sign or like, the one, one.
Speaker AOne that people see.
Speaker AIt'd be here with the soul of the soul.
Speaker AThen love.
Speaker AThis is what our souls want and crave, is love.
Speaker ABut Scorpio is in here, which is about digging deep.
Speaker AAnd the thing is that Scorpio is sometimes seen as dark.
Speaker ABut love is so beautiful and so large and expansive.
Speaker ABut the deeper that you go, big things are gonna have to come up that you have to work through.
Speaker AAnd that's, like, where this math comes in.
Speaker AI think that the reason, like, this is, like, my own thing.
Speaker AI think that the reason why people even started doing math, like, now it's, like, all complicated with a bunch of things that no one asked for.
Speaker AWell, I think the root of math is.
Speaker AIs to understand love.
Speaker ALike, if we think about, like, the limits and, like, infinities, people have been trying to figure out, like, the different kinds of infinities and Is this infinity bigger than this infinity?
Speaker AAnd I'm like, all you're looking at is love.
Speaker ASo that's like, how many lives can.
Speaker CYou have and how much love can you give?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd also, like, how.
Speaker AWhen people say.
Speaker APeople are always trying to say, like, how much you love somebody.
Speaker ALike, how do you show that love?
Speaker AAnd people say, like, to the moon and back or to like, different things like that.
Speaker ABut if you have in these different kinds of infinities, they.
Speaker AThere are different kinds of love for different kinds of people.
Speaker AAnd you love everybody, but there's always going to be value that it's still infinite.
Speaker ALike, you still love this infinite, but there's different levels to this infinity.
Speaker AOkay, so that's just one example.
Speaker BCan I ask a real quick question?
Speaker BSo you're showing that Scorpio is there in that part of the chart.
Speaker BBut what I don't understand is I thought the planets were always moving.
Speaker BIs this from a snapshot from you.
Speaker COr this is your personal.
Speaker BHow does Scorpio get in that place right there?
Speaker ASo you're looking at astrology.
Speaker AAs far as active astrology happening now, they are always constantly moving.
Speaker AI'm looking at astrology as the archetypes.
Speaker ASo, okay, Scorpio in and of itself mean.
Speaker BThank you.
Speaker AThen we can apply it to the chart later.
Speaker AOh, well, for yours, since we're here.
Speaker AOh, you have Scorpio.
Speaker CWe're talking about business.
Speaker ABusiness, yes.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CSo that we can make sense.
Speaker BLike, yeah, the business.
Speaker BBut also like, it's.
Speaker AIt's us.
Speaker CIt's our relationship.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker ASo Skirts up has it in the second house.
Speaker ASo it's the values.
Speaker ASo you value love and you value spreading love.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ASo for me, I have scorpio in the 10th house.
Speaker ASo my love comes from.
Speaker AFrom my career, from my different programs that I have.
Speaker ASo this is even all the things that we've talked about.
Speaker AThis is just one little thing compared to all of the other things that I'm working on.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AThis is so Scorpio.
Speaker ALike, it's so deep where you just have to keep going deeper and deeper and deeper.
Speaker AAnd that's what I love about Scorpio, even though it does get a bad rap.
Speaker BSo, okay, so you're saying.
Speaker BOkay, can I ask a question?
Speaker BSo across the top of the chart is soul, mind, spirit and body.
Speaker BBut it's also down the left side.
Speaker BAnd I'm not used to seeing the same things on both the top and the left of a chart.
Speaker BI'm used to seeing, like, two things and how they intersect.
Speaker BSo what is this meaning?
Speaker BLike, what are we looking at?
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker ASo when I first started doing this kind of work, I was trying to figure out.
Speaker AI was trying to separate them.
Speaker ALike, what is the soul, what is the mind, what.
Speaker AAnd then spirit ended up coming out of soul that.
Speaker AI thought they were the same thing, but turns out they're completely different.
Speaker ASoul, something that we have inside.
Speaker AAnd then the spirits, like our aura or like our energy that we give off.
Speaker AAnd then a body, obviously our body.
Speaker AAnd I try to.
Speaker ATo separate them by themselves, but it was.
Speaker AIt's not.
Speaker AI don't think it's possible to separate them because they're so interconnected with everything else.
Speaker ASo I had to put it along the side over here to then be able to analyze them as they connect.
Speaker CInstead of the spirit of the body.
Speaker BThe spirit of spirit, connect with the soul and.
Speaker BOh, I get it.
Speaker BThank you.
Speaker CWhat the spirit, like spirit to spirit?
Speaker CWhat the spirit, like, truly embodies say.
Speaker COkay, okay.
Speaker BYou were able to take each sign and kind of say what it embod.
Speaker BOkay, okay, okay, okay.
Speaker CI'm.
Speaker BI'm here with you.
Speaker CI'm following you now.
Speaker BHow the soul and the soul, the true soul.
Speaker BYou've got mystical love, Scorpio, and mathematics, which you're saying is love.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker ASo that's like the outside is all based on astrology, but then the inside, these are the problems that us humans have not been able to figure out.
Speaker ASo for instance, here with energy, it's like, how do we give and take in equal amounts?
Speaker AEither we're giving too much or we're not taking enough.
Speaker AAnd then same with, like, responsibilities, like up here with duty and moral, like, we're.
Speaker AWe either do too much or we don't do enough.
Speaker AAnd then same here with awareness, it's either we're not aware of what's going on, or we're too aware where now it's hurting us because we're too aware of everything.
Speaker AAnd then social power.
Speaker AI mean, I don't have to talk about politics and power.
Speaker AYeah, that's clearly an issue that we're going through.
Speaker ASo these four are like.
Speaker AWhat I'm saying are the four of what we're trying to solve, because out here, these are all based in astrology, where these are recurring cycles that will happen for forever.
Speaker AThey've been happening for thousands of years, and they will continue to happen for thousands of years.
Speaker ABut these four in the center, awareness, duty, power, and energy, These are the ones that we need to, like, work on and so the way that I've seen it do it is like cutting this up in, in force.
Speaker ASo, okay, for self awareness, it's self love, having the will to do things and using your desires not as a negative, but as a positive.
Speaker ALike if you desire something, if you have a need for something, give it to yourself.
Speaker AAnd if, unless it's something like let's say like you have a desire to steal, so then you would go to this awareness part and reflect on it.
Speaker AOkay, why do I want to steal?
Speaker AOkay, Because I don't have anything.
Speaker AOkay, well is there a different way that I can get this?
Speaker AOkay, then let me go do that.
Speaker ABecause you people like to just say, oh, I desire this thing, but I'm not going to do anything about it.
Speaker AIt's a bad desire.
Speaker AAnd they try, they try, they stuff on themselves for desiring this negative thing.
Speaker ABut it's supposed to be a good thing.
Speaker ALike there's a reason why you want this.
Speaker CJust reflection.
Speaker AAnd then now bring love into it.
Speaker AAnd now the desire can be a positive thing.
Speaker BOkay, so we can use like these.
Speaker BSo that actually kind of brings us full circle in my opinion, how we can use astrology to help us grow.
Speaker BLike you don't want to, you don't have to just look at it and be like, oh, it's going to tell me how I'm supposed to be.
Speaker BYou can say I'm having these feelings.
Speaker BI am, but.
Speaker BBut let's look more into it about why and then how can I make them work for me in a good way, in a positive way.
Speaker AExactly.
Speaker ASo like here being Libra, I had Libra in the ninth house.
Speaker ASo for me it was to dive into education, which is how this whole thing came about.
Speaker ABut for you guys with Libra, with skirts up, it's in the first house.
Speaker ASo it's really looking at what both of your desires are and then being able to reflect on it, to then bring it out into the world with the will and like bring that love in to like make it even more.
Speaker BInteresting.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BWhat I've been working on, I love it.
Speaker CThank you.
Speaker BWell, now I want to ask the question of how can we help ourselves be?
Speaker BLet's see, the more successful and like not.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BLike reach more people.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CTo help them to.
Speaker CYeah, yeah.
Speaker AWhere would we look there.
Speaker ASo with reaching more people, what I've found is that it doesn't matter how good your content is because I don't know if you guys have experienced this, but for me, like the stuff that I put out that I'M like, oh, this episode was okay, but I'm still going to put it out.
Speaker AVersus I love this episode so much.
Speaker ASo true that you thought it was okay.
Speaker ALike, that one gets more attention and found is that it's really about feeling, like, feeling safe, being seen.
Speaker ASo when you feel it inside, then it brings it out more.
Speaker ASo with those episodes that you're like about, you don't care who sees it because you're like, whatever.
Speaker ABut when it's something that you actually love, it's.
Speaker AYou're putting yourself out there.
Speaker AThat if when it's not reciprocated, like the same energy that you're putting out and it's not reciprocated, then that's when we are me.
Speaker AI feel sad, but it really is just about allowing yourself to be seen and being proud of what you put out in a way.
Speaker ANothing that you don't.
Speaker AHow do I say this?
Speaker AI feel like I'm confusing the words.
Speaker BNow, but, like, not trying to protect it because it's, like, not perfect.
Speaker BVulnerable.
Speaker AYeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker ABoth of them.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo it's about, like, being more vulnerable with yourself and going back to my chart with the Leo, like, expression for skirts up.
Speaker AIt's in the fifth house, so it's going against the grain.
Speaker AAnd, like, that's how you express.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ASo, like, really sticking with that and not caring if people get feathers ruffled.
Speaker AYeah, exactly.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CWell, that.
Speaker CThat is like an internal battle, like, for me too, because I feel like both of us, I feel like, like, Melissa, like, when you're talking about, like, the Mormon Church, like, you are very careful not to offend anyone and, like, ruffle any feathers, even though that was your past and that is your truth, if you want to say.
Speaker CBut it sounds like it's okay.
Speaker CLike, it's giving us kind of permission to, like, it's okay to say what we need to say.
Speaker CLike, we're not trying to ruffle any feathers, but it.
Speaker CIt's just something that needs to get said and it doesn't have to be true for you, it's true for us.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BInteresting.
Speaker CWow.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CThis was amazing.
Speaker CThank you so much for reaching out to us and joining us on skirts up.
Speaker CLike, I had, like, like I said, I was really scared when we first started this conversation.
Speaker CLike, oh, like, what are we doing?
Speaker CLike, there's no way get into.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker CI was like, this is.
Speaker CWow.
Speaker CThis is just gonna look at how dumb I am.
Speaker CBut this one's, like, really fascinating.
Speaker CAnd now, like, it just kind of questions.
Speaker BThat is very nice of you.
Speaker BWell, here's the thing.
Speaker BLike, if we have the questions, someone else.
Speaker COther people do too.
Speaker CYeah, yeah.
Speaker CAnd.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CAnd this, wow.
Speaker CJust.
Speaker CThis is really uplifting too, as we're, like, preparing to come into season four and, like, to hear, you know, I wouldn't have even thought to look into Skirts up and like, it's astrology.
Speaker CAnd just to hear, like, everything that you had to share with us based on what.
Speaker CWhat that is.
Speaker CIt's like, wow.
Speaker CLike, we really are, like, doing what we thought we were doing.
Speaker CIt's kind of like what I'm hearing.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker AThat's what I love about astrology.
Speaker AIt's like when you look at your personal one, it's like, whoa, like, I actually am in the right direction.
Speaker AEspecially when I earlier that, like, everyone was saying, don't do this, don't do this.
Speaker ABut when I look at my astrology, I'm like, no, it's right, like, look.
Speaker CIt doesn't make sense.
Speaker CYeah, now that clicks too.
Speaker BJust like, looking, since you have it in front of you.
Speaker BOur dates and our.
Speaker BOur houses and what not.
Speaker BDo you have anything that you're like, hey, this is something I think you guys should know and I'm gonna tell you before we head out.
Speaker CYeah, ruffle the feathers.
Speaker CI'm just kidding.
Speaker CYeah, definitely.
Speaker AThat's the number one thing.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker ABecause the north node is in Aries, and so it's like you guys are going to be doing something that no one else has done before.
Speaker ASo Aries is, like, the first to do things.
Speaker ASo, like, really focus on that.
Speaker ALike, what's something that no one else has done?
Speaker AOr like, in your own way, because obviously everyone has right about to say.
Speaker CMe, and I have to reflect on.
Speaker AThat because everything's been done.
Speaker ABut.
Speaker AYeah, but it's by.
Speaker ASo your chiron we were talking about at the beginning is right next to it.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ANorth node is about, like, evolving and moving forward spiritually.
Speaker ABut the chiron is like that wound.
Speaker ASo, like, there's a wound that.
Speaker AThat you may not want to go first or like something that comes up that you.
Speaker AYou may not want to, but you know that it's going to help people.
Speaker CSo you're going to do it because vulnerable.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CWe both have talked about how we were raised and things that we want to talk about and bring up, but we feel like we're still trying to protect people from our childhood.
Speaker CThat we're like, okay, no, we'll just put brush over that.
Speaker CBut we keep teetering with it.
Speaker CSo that's like really amazing that you brought that up.
Speaker CLike I actually just got goosebumps.
Speaker BI did too.
Speaker AAnd the fact that it's in the seventh house, meaning like that one on one relationship like between the two of you is incredible.
Speaker ASo to really you like help each other with those wounds that you can bring it out into this main stage.
Speaker COh man.
Speaker CI don't know what's going on with me but I might cry.
Speaker CI literally have I think the same feeling.
Speaker BSam, I love you so much.
Speaker CWe have like seen each other through.
Speaker AA lot of you.
Speaker BWe have.
Speaker AThank you so much for having me on.
Speaker AThat's just been great.
Speaker AThank you.
Speaker CAmazing.
Speaker COur minds are blown which is like what we're always looking for.
Speaker CDid you like the episode that you heard today?
Speaker AGreat.
Speaker CShare it with a friend.
Speaker CAnd don't forget to rate and review Sam.
