[00:02] Hey. Hey guys, what is up? Welcome back to another episode of the Smart Flip Guys. We got with us today, Spencer Burke. He's been on the podcast a few times. He loves this podcast.

[00:12] He, he always brings conversation. He's listened to every single episode, even the ones where he was on,

[00:21] you know, because especially is a lot of flippers, they just listen to it while they're driving around picking up deals and they happen to learn a bunch of gems. So if you're a flipper or you run a buyback business, I recommend listening to this podcast because it's the only one of its kind.

[00:40] We are the biggest and largest podcast in the world for phone flippers and buyback companies with 50 something episodes.

[00:49] So with that being said, if you guys do want some great resources and stuff like that, definitely recommend the Tech Flips profit ebook. That's the first thing Spencer ever bought when he ran into my funnel and you get it for free.

[01:05] The audio version only on episode 11 of the podcast. If you want the full PDF and version stuff like that, you can actually find it on my Facebook profile. But you can also find it below this video somewhere as well.

[01:17] Definitely recommend. It's great for beginners and getting to understand the industry and stuff like that. There's also a couple upsells and stuff after that if you want more stuff that you don't have to learn on your own.

[01:28] With that being said,

[01:31] let's kick this thing off. So Spencer,

[01:34] you're a full time phone flipper or full time buyback business owner now.

[01:38] I was like, say it's buyback business owner. Honestly,

[01:41] phones have been almost like 50% or less of what I currently, I mean resell like it's blurred out behind me, but I have a whole table full of Nintendo switches right now.

[01:52] So like, you know, by volume I'm closer to a console and other electronics kind of guy. But yeah, man,

[02:01] I, I really, you know, you've talked about my story before where I did this, you know, I tried to do this once and last time it was less voluntary and more like I was being laid off.

[02:13] And you know, I had a heads up but I was so new to the game that,

[02:17] you know, I didn't understand kind of the emotional ups and downs. Didn't have that, you know, maturity that Matt and I kind of talk about in terms of, you know, you understand what predictable success looks like.

[02:31] And now, you know, I've built my table of, you know, my, what is it, four legged table of success that I can stand on. And if any one Leg doesn't work.

[02:40] I still have the others is, you know, my reach outs, my ads,

[02:44] my gmb. I mean, GMB is probably the most sturdy table that I sturdy leg that I have on this table. And that's, that's the thing that keeps on giving. But if I need more money, if I need more revenue, increase my ad spend or increase, you know, triple my reach outs.

[02:59] That's the answer. And then lastly,

[03:01] you know, I love **** shops, man. Like I've been doing. I almost wanted to comment, like I was doing **** shops before. It was cool. I was number one student on **** shop profits.

[03:11] Yeah, go through it.

[03:13] After I dropped it, I was like,

[03:16] like, you know, I'd be dropping all this stuff and people just don't listen. And yeah, what's hilarious about that is like I told. I was talking with Aaron Simon Welch,

[03:28] who's also been on the podcast. That was a great episode by the way, guys.

[03:31] Yes.

[03:32] He started going to **** shops and, and then all of a sudden everybody's like, oh, I need to go to **** shops. When I've been saying it for like two years.

[03:43] And I'm like, it's true. So it's funny. We gotta, we got a running thing now like, because Spencer and Kevin started co working sessions inside of the program for you.

[03:54] Kevin and Kevin Racinos. And I was like, I tried to do that like a year ago and I was like, you know what? From now on, everything is Spencer and Kevin's idea.

[04:04] And Aaron, like, I'm just gonna like funnel the idea through them so that it ends up working, you know.

[04:12] But Chris still gets the credit because.

[04:14] Right, right.

[04:15] I'm a student. I always tell people I'm a student of the accelerator process. Everything I know is through that. You know, that's,

[04:23] that's kind of how it works. But I'll tell you too though, with the content thing, like,

[04:28] I think the hardest thing is to get people to revisit things that they think they already know with a new set of eyes, with their, their current state. So Matt, you and I had this experience most recently with the under the radar flips.

[04:43] And we kind of had a joke about it. But seriously,

[04:46] after I went back and did that part of Console Kings, I was like, I thought I knew this stuff. I didn't. And now that I have these, you know, even, you know, more mature eyes, as I would say, you know, and that I know how flips work, like,

[05:01] that was what, you know, that was just another thing that kind of gave me confidence and I think I messaged you after I went through it and I said, dude, I think now I'm really thinking about quitting my job.

[05:09] Like, because this is now I, like, there's, it's, it's one of those things I, I'm so confident with the library of things that I can flip. And I'm, I'm adding more every day.

[05:21] I just added, you know, Garmin smartwatches to that. And the only reason why is because I live in Colorado Springs. Everyone goes hiking. Everyone's their high end Garmin watch. But no one's buying.

[05:32] I'll buy them.

[05:34] You know what I mean? Like, I wouldn't look at that if, if circumstances or if I just didn't have the confidence of, you know, all I got to know is about what something's selling for.

[05:44] Yeah.

[05:45] And I can calculate pretty quickly in my head what I want to buy it at. Usually it's 40 to 60% of its sell cost of its sale price.

[05:51] So that's exactly right. Yeah.

[05:52] Yeah. Easy peasy.

[05:54] Yeah.

[05:55] I think that that very aptly describes, like, I will probably never be a phone flipper. Like, there's a lot of reasons I think phones are great profit. But even coming into the situation,

[06:09] people don't. Some people don't know this, but when Chris started accelerator, I was the first person to buy the program. And then somehow, then somehow we ended up working together.

[06:18] But like, I came, I came, I. I came to the table with the skill set that I already had. I was already doing consoles, and I was like, well, there's other stuff here.

[06:27] Let's. Let's see what it is. And then we started talking and here we are. And like, I still like flipping those things that I was flipping before. I stepped into a space where it was possible to flip more phones than I ever have before.

[06:40] Now, I'm biased, obviously, to consoles,

[06:43] and you seem a little bit as well.

[06:46] I think, you know, a lot of people are.

[06:50] I get the same question all the time with people where they're like, I want to flip consoles, but I don't know how to test them. I don't know how to tell if they're broken.

[06:57] I don't know if they're this or they're that. They're everything else. And I'm just like,

[07:01] bro, they're easier than phones. Like, yeah, you do a shake test, power it on,

[07:07] it probably works.

[07:08] You know, shake test an HDMI buckle, if the hd, my buckle isn't broken. And when I say buckle, you'll know what I see. You'll know what you. You know what? You'll know what I mean if you look and you see one that's broken, because it literally looks like a broken buckle.

[07:21] Yeah.

[07:21] It's like, all right, if that's not broken,

[07:24] HDMI is probably tight. If the HDMI is tight, no shaking. We're good to go. You know,

[07:30] I mean,

[07:31] I'll probably lose $20 because I'll sell it for parts and get most of my money back. Like, yeah. Yeah.

[07:38] The thing is, like, you can always break even.

[07:40] Yeah.

[07:41] Every single time. So, like, you can't lose. Like,

[07:47] actually thinking about it, I actually haven't heard of anybody losing on a console yet. Very hard in my program, anyway, just to be clear, like,

[07:55] outside, probably, but I haven't heard of anybody technically,

[08:00] like, because if you go and buy an Oculus Quest 2 for 100 bucks, even 120,

[08:07] you still can't really lose. Like, you still end up profiting.

[08:10] I was. I was just telling my wife, I went to the **** shop,

[08:14] and I posted about on the WINS chat. I came away with, like, seven switches and three Oculus twos,

[08:24] and I spent about fifteen hundred dollars, which is probably a little higher than I. Than I would want to, like, especially off the street. But buying from a **** shop,

[08:32] number one, that volume is already there. I'm building a relationship with them. You know, I'm getting the opportunity to drop off cards. So, like, there's. There's some buying potential there that.

[08:42] That I'm, you know, planting seeds for later, so I don't mind paying up a little bit. Yeah, There it is. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. I mean, I have them behind me.

[08:49] I think it's seven. No, it might be more. No, it's nine. Oh, ****. It's nine. I can't count.

[08:55] Nine switches. Three, three. Oculus. Well, here's the thing. One of those oculus. The visor.

[09:02] Nine switches.

[09:04] Yeah. One. One of the. And some of those are OLEDs, the four on the back rowlets, bro.

[09:08] Look at that freaking, like, charging, like, oh, my gosh.

[09:13] So quick. That's like. That's Clark Griswold status over there. That's incredible. So, quick question, Spencer. Like, if I. If we could be specific, what did you get into each of those Nintendo switches for?

[09:24] Like, what did you walk away with the. The V1s or V2s and the OLEDs for?

[09:28] So when negotiating with **** shops, it's actually pretty.

[09:33] It's harder to get it per unit. You have to factor your per unit in across all devices and you're all in cost. And that's typically how I do it with pawns, because they'll have things that they can wiggle on more.

[09:46] So, like that red and blue OLED on the right that's sitting up that I bought full price from the **** shop. But here's the thing. They had miscategorized it as a regular switch because it was red and blue.

[09:58] So I paid 180 for it. But you know what I mean? Like, I. You know, it. They think it's a regular switch. I think I got three of those switches from one punch.

[10:09] No, four of the switches from one **** shop, it was one OLED, and the rest were just V1s, I think, or V2s.

[10:17] A mix of both.500 out the door with my tax exempt cert. Because this particular **** shop guy, he likes the. To use the tax exempt. The other one, it was a thousand dollars for the.

[10:29] The visors and all that. I was in probably for the rest of them. 125,

[10:36] 130 a piece.

[10:39] Yeah.

[10:39] Which, when I factor across, you know, the OLEDs versus the regular, plus the additional game that I found in one of them,

[10:47] we're. We're still making money. And what I was telling my wife was, is what started the deal was these. These Oculus quests. I told them I wanted them at 90 a piece out the door, and she was like, I can do that for you, no problem.

[11:00] Cool. So I'm in at 90. That one that's in the case.

[11:04] The. The visor has dead pixels all in. It's. It's complete. Like, it's a shot. It's a parts. It's parts.

[11:10] Gotcha.

[11:11] Yeah, but I paid $90. I'll sell one of those controllers for 75. The other one I'll sell for 60. 65.

[11:20] Even if I don't sell the visor, which I will, for parts, I'm still in the green. And I'm still in the green at a very profitable roi. When I consider, again, I compare everything to my Amazon days where I was just happy that, you know, etch out 20 ROI sometimes.

[11:37] It's. It's incredible, man. Like, I. When you have situations like this, and this is one pot, you know, two **** shops in one part of my city. I have five others I can visit in my city.

[11:49] I had two in this. In the city south of me, you know, 50 miles south. I have another two dozen in Denver area north of me.

[11:57] Yep.

[11:58] Like, if I get low on funds, if I get low on leads, I just gotta Go find the money. It's there. And sometimes I'm looking for switches, sometimes I'm looking for cameras, sometimes I'm looking like it just.

[12:11] You got once, you know,

[12:13] I can buy anything as long as I know how to look it up on ebay and check the sell through rate.

[12:20] I mean, that's it.

[12:22] Yeah. Which I think is great that you say that because it's not the silver bullet, it's the skill set. And that's what people gotta realize is like the. There's no one item to everybody who hears this that's going to save your business or liberate you into financial freedom.

[12:35] You've got to invest in you. And once you learn that skill,

[12:39] you write your own ticket. Chris, would you mind going back to that screen real quick?

[12:44] Yeah.

[12:45] I'm gonna get a little technical here and show people a couple things. Now if Spencer wants to squeeze out a few extra profits, which he will probably do this. If I were, if I were doing this flip, I, I would take this broken one and just sell it as broken.

[12:58] And then I would take this case back here and I would list it with one of the headsets exclusively. The headset and the case to increase the value and views on that specific listing to make it sell faster, because it probably will.

[13:12] And I can squeeze a little more premium out of that profit. And then if you look at the switch in the back, there's a gray one with the line on it that looks like a limited edition Super Smash Bros.

[13:21] Joy Con. So if the one on the right has the little white stuff on the bottom, right, then that's a limited edition set which he's going to sell for even more money.

[13:30] Plus there's an animal crossing switch dock over here to the right. And so a lot of people don't realize that these little extras also mean extra profits. And that is how we make the money.

[13:41] Yeah. And I even plan on utilizing one of the students. I forget who it was. Forgive me, whoever you are, for not giving you the proper credit. One of them was like, hey, I've started selling my switch accessories local.

[13:53] I sell the tablets and everything online on ebay, but I sell my accessories local because I could, you know, squeeze out that extra $5 on fees and whatever shipping. And I was like, that's not a bad idea.

[14:05] It's not. And so I'll likely do that with some of this as well. Like especially with that OLED dock above the, the animal crossing dock. That's an OLED dock. People love having that direct connection availability, especially if they play online multiplayer,

[14:20] that's something the original dock doesn't have.

[14:23] So you can, you know, $40 on eBay or $40 local and you don't have to pay for fees and shipping. It's pretty nice.

[14:30] That's legit. Chris, I got a. I got a Chris Schroeder special for you. If you close out that window and go down to the listing below that I posted in the wins.

[14:38] Yeah,

[14:39] it's a **** shop pickup I made two days ago.

[14:42] Yeah, we saw this one.

[14:44] Yeah.

[14:44] You want to break this down real quick, Matt? This was for sure.

[14:47] Yeah.

[14:49] Also, dude, talk about the photo taking ability you got.

[14:53] I'm telling you. Where'd you get that background?

[14:55] What is that, my fireplace? Yeah.

[14:58] Yeah, that is solid.

[15:01] Yeah. Yeah.

[15:03] Okay. So I walked into the **** shop and I was going to buy every single Xbox they had. I had their counter stacked up with nine Xboxes and the chick rang them all up and she wanted 900 bucks.

[15:14] And I was like,

[15:15] you've got cigarette burns and all kinds of stuff on this. They're kind of gross. She goes, people buy gross around here. I was like, fair. And so I said, I'll do 45 for each of the Xboxes.

[15:27] She goes, no, we would be at a loss. I was like, okay, well, let's. I said, show me that. And I pointed at this desktop computer, this iMac, this 27 inch 5K retina display.

[15:38] They wanted 300 on it, so I negotiated it for 250. You know how I got it for 250?

[15:44] It was cloud locked.

[15:45] Yeah. Oh, it was cloud locked.

[15:47] Doesn't look like it was cloud locked. So what do we do with CloudLock desktops and MacBooks, Chris?

[15:55] Are you saying it was password locked?

[15:58] No, it was cloud locked. All I did was go into the OS disk utility and erase the hard drive.

[16:04] And then my Mac wasn't on. And you just fully erased.

[16:07] Yeah, so I just. I just rebooted it, installed a fresh OS of Catalina, and bang, we have a brand new computer, folks.

[16:13] Yeah, so I do this all the time, by the way, guys. Like, this is one of the best ways that I get deals on a consistent basis from **** shops is they don't.

[16:22] A lot of their employees don't know how to erase things correctly.

[16:26] And a lot of the times, like, they will have the person sign out of their account or. Or sign out of their account, but maybe not turn off, find my Mac or something like that.

[16:34] There's always little bits and pieces, but you can usually run the Serial numbers and figure out if you can reset it or not.

[16:41] Anyway, you can reset them very easily and make them brand new. And there's free money. Essentially. I do this iPads all the time.

[16:52] I'm really jealous about that.

[16:53] Rog Ally.

[16:54] I have yet to buy one in my city. I have been trying, but, dude, everyone's got them listed at 4 or 500 and they don't want to budge. And I'm like, God, I.

[17:02] This is the same one I've been looking at for two months, bro. 200. Come here.

[17:06] Come get it.

[17:06] And they just don't want it.

[17:08] I almost bought one the other day from a repeat customer, but at the last minute, he was like, Ah,

[17:13] 200. Nah, I think I'm gonna keep it. I was like, all right, well, let me know when you want.

[17:19] So here's what's funny about that, is they wanted 300 for it. And I saw it sitting there. I tested it the day before. I told the guy I was coming back.

[17:25] I said, I'm coming back and I'm going to buy all of your Xboxes. And he's like,

[17:30] for real? And I said, yeah. And so he said, well, the boss will be here tomorrow. So I walked back tomorrow. I said, hey, I'm back. And so when I.

[17:37] After I pointed at the desktop, I said, all right, what about the Rog Ally? Like, I sat it back down because the left D pad, the D pad on the left was kind of sticky and clicky on the left side.

[17:46] I was like, man, I don't like that. I didn't know what it was, but everything about it was super clean. I mean, it looked like it had been used maybe once.

[17:53] Like, not a scratch on the screen at all. It's a Z1 extreme 512 gigabyte. I was like, I'll take the desktop and I'll take that for 200. And sure enough,

[18:06] here we go, folks. You can see the receipt right there. With tax, I paid 488 for the desktop computer. And the Rog Ally that was with tax. Guys, I'll profit.

[18:18] I'll make more than that just off of this desktop alone.

[18:21] And this Rog Ally will be pure profit. And the One below the Quest 2 was a university pickup at a location five minutes down the road from me. This chick just needed some cash real quick, so I picked that up for 95 bucks.

[18:34] So total paid $575. So expected potential profit 1150.

[18:43] The ROI king, Matt Shirley himself.

[18:47] That is definitely the ROI king. I'm over.

[18:50] I'm over here happy if I make 50 plus per device? Like, no, no, no, no.

[18:54] Well, you came from the Amazon world, right, Lino?

[18:57] Like, yeah, yeah.

[18:59] You're doubling your profits at this point.

[19:02] Yeah.

[19:02] Like, what's funny about the Amazon profits is like 10, 15% is amazing in that industry, you know.

[19:09] Yeah, 20 is, I think it's the industry standard. People hit 20, 25% with Amazon and they're like, so happy. They're like, I sold a hundred thousand dollars and made 25K.

[19:19] You know,

[19:20] I think the thing with Amazon and I was thinking about this is like, there's people that are, you know, doing 25%, but they're doing, you know, freaking 60 to 100k a month.

[19:30] It's true, it would. And a lot of them are doing it with, you know, a fleet of vas and employees. So for them it's very hands off. So it's very easy to say, oh, Amazon is, is king.

[19:41] Right? And I get, for those guys, it absolutely is.

[19:45] But a lot of them came in earlier when Amazon was kind of the wild, wild west. It was easy to get ungated and anything, you know, the average guy, if you want to start at Amazon today, it's, it's possible to make money, don't get me wrong, it's possible to make good money and have it as a good side hustle.

[20:03] It's just that the barrier to entry, to actually get up with the big boys that are making that real good money,

[20:11] it's a frustrating barrier. And for me it was too much. Right. It was easier to, you know, use my skill set of, you know,

[20:20] working with people to negotiate. I'm a good, I'm a, I'm a yapper dude. So I'll, I'll negotiate all day.

[20:26] Yeah. Turn on the charm.

[20:27] And that's, that's, that's where I'm able to get my edge now, mind you, I'm, I'm physically working probably more than some of those Amazon cats and I get it.

[20:35] But for me,

[20:36] I think if I just was sitting still, like at my corporate job, that I just quit, like, I wouldn't be happy. I like that I, I get up and I get to talk with people.

[20:46] It's very energizing to me to engage with members of my community.

[20:50] So.

[20:51] And you have their employees you don't have to worry about. You know, those other folks are also a manager.

[20:58] Like, I mean, you manage the employees. Like, yeah.

[21:01] And I think, I think one day I would like to, to do that again because again, one of my Skill sets. I am very good at managing people.

[21:08] It's just, you know, obviously, when you have people, you have to consider a lot more than just yourself. Whereas, you know, like, coming up, I have to, you know, go out of town on a random Thursday.

[21:19] I'm just not. Like, I'm going to answer my texts and maybe tell people, but, like, I don't have to be there. I don't have to do anything on Thursday if I don't want to.

[21:27] It's true. And if you want to drive up to Denver and source Denver, it's in your backyard, literally.

[21:33] And. And I think that, you know, we talked about the. The consoles versus phones. I. I definitely am an, you know, an everything electronic seller. Yeah, almost an everything seller. I have a softball bat that I'm gonna make 200 on that I'm gonna sell, actually.

[21:46] Like, it's. I'll. I'll sell pretty much anything as long as I can make some money on it, for sure.

[21:52] But,

[21:55] you know, I think phones, for me, at least in my city, is a very big opportunity in terms of, like, there's not anybody other than the repair shops and the phone stores that have a GMB that are an established business with clientele that.

[22:10] That would vouch for them and say, hey, five stars. This guy's awesome. Is an awesome experience. Cash for my device paid more than the eco atm. I'm the only guy in my area to do that.

[22:20] So for me, even though phones aren't my favorite, they're super easy to process.

[22:26] I'm getting better and better about putting them on ebay and figuring out my price points there.

[22:32] And, you know, I. I love ebay now. Like, I'm.

[22:37] I mean, sold.

[22:38] I'll always remember you being like, man, I thought ebay was dead.

[22:42] Yeah, I just. I'm in. I'm in love in it. Like, because, man, that payout. That payout feature,

[22:49] 48 hours, man, from the time that I sell it, even if I haven't shipped it yet, right? Like, like I told you, if I. If I sell goes through on Friday, which means I don't have to ship till Monday.

[22:58] I have the money in my account by Sunday.

[23:00] I know it's not the greatest thing.

[23:01] That is wild work.

[23:03] You shipped the item. Yes. Money just deposits in your account.

[23:06] But, I mean, I might be even.

[23:08] Faster, too, which, you know, I missed those days a little bit. I was a little spoiled when eBay owned PayPal for that. For that little bit of time where you, like, dude, I.

[23:18] Man,

[23:19] dude,

[23:21] I would buy something, sell it hits my PayPal account. I go to the ATM, get it out, go buy something out. Like, I did, man.

[23:30] I'm telling you, going kind of closing the loop on the Amazon thing is like, yeah,

[23:36] I was spending so much more money and I was leveraged. So, like a great example, I just pulled up my ebay numbers.

[23:43] Month to date on ebay, I've done 7,400 in revenue. Just over.

[23:49] Nice.

[23:50] I'm at $2,300 in profit, net profit. After buying my boxes, my softwares, all the stuff in.

[23:59] I mean, I'm looking at 30% net margins.

[24:02] And the number $2,300 is what I would get after a 20k month on Amazon.

[24:08] Oh,

[24:09] I'm one week into this month, man.

[24:11] Like.

[24:14] I can't. I can't, man. I. I'm just. I'm the biggest believer.

[24:20] This is totally gonna sound pitchy, but whatever. I'm the biggest believer of the accelerator process, Chris. And that's why I've engaged so much with this community, like, you know, helping other new sellers in the group.

[24:31] Like, it's. It's a.

[24:33] I just believe in the power of the skill set that you can earn for those that want it.

[24:38] And.

[24:40] And that's coming from someone who didn't think he wanted it and had to learn through. You know, I was fortunate enough to have at least followed your. Your process, Chris, and gotten my GMB set up to where that money kept calling me.

[24:55] Yeah,

[24:57] well, you know, I tell people all the time, like, in the beginning, like, with accelerator, we. We accelerate the reselling process, right? Not. We don't teach you just how to flip phones.

[25:08] We teach you how to create a buyback business, right? A business needs a marketing department. Basically, a business needs, you know, a listing department. And like, a bit like, if you treat this thing as a business,

[25:21] it will pay you as a business, if you treat it as a side hustle, it'll pay you, like, a side hustle to be real, right? So when you. When you start building things in like.

[25:31] Like a CRM and a website and all this stuff that we basically. Like, let's be real.

[25:38] How.

[25:39] How much time does RE Accelerator actually cut off the learning curve? I personally think at this point, it's about a year,

[25:46] you know, and we cut that off in like a week.

[25:49] Like, that's. That's a crazy time frame, right? Because you can go from side hustle. You're just flipping phones on the side to basically business owner with an llc, with leads every day and just skill sets, you know, and then you get the onboarding calls and Matt literally just drops money in your lap.

[26:14] You know, same thing with Aaron now. And. And then, you know, I turn on the faucet of leads and that's what we did for you. And, you know, I still remember,

[26:24] like, because I've seen it many times. Right. Like you said, you know, you were going through that tough time last year and you were like, I, I don't know if this is going to work out for me,

[26:35] but we already had everything set up. Everything was already there. That, that GMB dude. Like, that's why I said, I'm just going to pause your account on resell deck. I was like, it's gonna pause it and, and we're.

[26:47] We're gonna leave everything as it is. And then people just kept calling, you know, so.

[26:53] Or they're reaching out on Facebook because I already have my Facebook business profile set up. Exactly. Messaging me and I'm getting. You know what I mean?

[26:59] Like, like this business will, if you build it right, it will force you to make money.

[27:06] Yeah. Really force you.

[27:07] Because people will be calling, asking you to buy their stuff, and it's the greatest offer in the world.

[27:13] Right?

[27:14] Like, you know, like, hey, can I give you cash?

[27:18] Let's be real. Like, you call some. If somebody called you guys and be like, hey, can I give you more cash today? Like,

[27:25] are you saying no?

[27:26] Yeah.

[27:30] Like, I, I look at it like that a lot, you know,

[27:34] and it's like, the more I think about it, the more I love this business even more is because, like, if you build it right, it will force you to succeed.

[27:44] And if you do it long enough, you will just keep going and you'll just keep making more. I mean, Aaron said it best when he said, the longer you're in this business, the better it gets.

[27:54] And he's a hundred percent right. Because you just meet more people over time and like, you're not even close to, you know, everybody in your city. I think last time you were on this podcast, you were like, my CRM says only 1200 people know about my business.

[28:07] Business. You know, that's a powerful thing to say. You know, like, a lot of people out there, they're like, well, I only got 50, 000 people in my city,

[28:17] bro. That's 50, 000 phones. That's 50, 000 whatever other electronics that they might have on top of that. Like, congratulations, you can be number one very fast.

[28:27] I think Alex Ross, like, dude, Alex.

[28:31] In his little 50,00-person city. Yeah.

[28:34] There was somebody in The. In that Facebook group that they were like, yeah, I think their city was Bangor, Maine. They were like, you know, do you think I can make it in here?

[28:41] And I just typed in, sell my phone. Bangor, Maine, and Eco ATM popped up twice in one other place that. And I don't even think that they. I think it might be a resale shop, but they popped up and I was like, eco atm and one other business and a 50,000.

[28:55] Like, you can't buy 50,000 phones in a year. I promise you can't. I promise you can't.

[29:01] So go get 1% of that.

[29:04] Yeah.

[29:05] And you'll be making money and live your life.

[29:07] Yeah.

[29:08] I remember when I finally did that math one day at my.

[29:13] My dining room table, and I was like,

[29:15] I remember, like, this was years ago at this point when I was doing, like, Facebook ads. Like, and that was the only thing I was doing. I sat down and I was like, how do I increase my business?

[29:24] And I basically kind of did what you just said a little bit, where I just like, well, the population of Beaumont, Texas, is about. About 200,000 people.

[29:34] It's not very big.

[29:36] And then it, like, hit me. I was like, but that's 200,000 people.

[29:42] Like, that's a lot of people.

[29:44] And they just don't know about me yet.

[29:48] And that. That's what it is. Like, and then I got to thinking. I'm like, well, that's 200,000 phones.

[29:53] Like, I can't buy 200,000 phones. And I was like,

[29:57] okay, well, what is 1% of 200,000?

[30:01] Well, it's still like, what is that? Like, 2,000, 2,000, you know? And I was like, I'm probably not going to be buying that per month.

[30:10] Like, so what is 0.1% of 200,000? And it came down to, like, 200. And I was like, oh, wow. I only need to get, like, 0.1% of the population to know about me and to sell to me, to, like, to, like, really build this thing,

[30:28] you know, that was a light bulb for me. I was like, wow, it really doesn't take a lot to. To make this work. It just takes some diligence and some time to put the right systems in place to make it work for you.

[30:40] Because at some point, somebody's going to need to sell their stuff, you know? Like, that's just how it works. You just got to be there when they're ready, you know?

[30:49] So also, you know, the buyback funnel that I've been talking about lately is like, if you set that up it. It. You, you will have people to talk to every single day, no matter what.

[31:02] Like, if it's slow, great. Go to a **** shop.

[31:05] You know, I actually, I, I know this is crazy. This is counterintuitive for someone who likes money. But sometimes I like, I welcome the slow days. I'm like, oh, finally. Because I gotta, you know, like I got a table full of switches I gotta, I gotta process.

[31:19] But what I do is, is I, when I go to a **** shop, I'm usually buying on my Amex. It's like 2% back. So I got 30 days to pay that off.

[31:28] So I'll prioritize. Like when I. All the stuff I picked up yesterday and paid cash for, I've already listed that first. That jumps in front of the line and the **** shop stuff kind of stays on the table and I work off of it every day until I get down to the bottom.

[31:41] Well, if I have a table full of stuff and I have a slow day, I'm like, sweet. I can finally list, I can finally clean stuff and get them listed because that's money that I can still make.

[31:50] Like, I'm not done.

[31:51] Yeah.

[31:52] Or you know, like I've been, dude, I've been meaning to like change some stuff on my website and like update the reviews that I have screenshotted and things like that. Like, but if I'm busy, I can't do that.

[32:03] So it's like, well, you know,

[32:05] one of these days I do a lot.

[32:07] Of that stuff when I'm, when I'm at Starbucks actually. Like if I need to make updates or stuff, you know.

[32:12] Yeah, I've been using. So I like to organize my opportunity cards as they come into resell deck. You know, they'll load in as like regular, you know, leads one way or the other.

[32:21] And it does separate them between Facebook and, and obviously your phone calls, but your phone calls, like you kind of have to whatever. And I have like a little follow up opportunity that'll send them a follow up text after about three days to say, hey, we talked about it.

[32:34] Do you see, you know, have you sold it yet? I'm still buying. Same thing with Facebook. I have like a follow up funnel through there. But I like, I use that time when I'm waiting in between to organize those cards just so that way I make sure I'm on top of who have I followed up with and who haven't I.

[32:49] Because you know, to quote another Chris Schroeder special, here is the money's in the follow up. You Gotta make sure you do that because yeah, you know, it's. Your close rate on those is about the same as everyone else.

[33:00] You just gotta keep following up. Follow up, follow up eventually, you know.

[33:05] No, it's true. Like, I'll tell you guys when I learned this. So I learned this, I learned the follow up years ago, right? So I remember it because here's what I would do when this was the only business I was running.

[33:19] It was prioritized above everything else, right? So what I would do is like I would meet people during the day, right? And then what I would actually do later on, I found out how to do this correctly for my.

[33:32] Myself.

[33:34] And then this was also kind of what created Resell Deck. Actually.

[33:39] I would, every night I would go and I would follow up with the people that either no showed me or they just, you know, they just stopped talking to me, right?

[33:49] And this is when I found the, the power of follow ups when it comes to Facebook ads specifically. Also, it works with reach outs too. I've noticed.

[33:57] So ever since Matt taught me how to do reach outs correctly,

[34:01] I, you know,

[34:03] I perfected my own way because I do that stuff. I'm a systems guy, you know, I'm a system scientist.

[34:09] That's true.

[34:10] I. I don't know why guys. I just like building stuff that works.

[34:15] I'm a little addicted to it. But anyway, I would follow up with those leads every night. I would probably say I took about 20, 30 minutes to follow up with all the leads.

[34:25] And what happened was a lot of the times these people were like, they would, they would forget or they would, you know, it'd be something dumb. And I'd be like, all right, well I'm meeting people at 12 and 4 tomorrow.

[34:34] Which time works best? We can, you know, reschedule it. And then I would schedule people for the next day.

[34:40] And like that's when I learned the power of follow up. Because most phone flippers never follow up with anybody because they don't treat this thing like a business, right? So I like how Aaron says it.

[34:54] He's like, if you're paying for leads, you **** well better be following up with them. Like, if you're paying money for every single person that comes into your flow,

[35:03] talk, you know, like, yeah, talk to them. Because here's the deal, guys. Like a lot of the people,

[35:09] you got to break a certain stereotype of who we are, okay? Like in Spencer, you know this, like Matt, you know it. Like a lot of people think we're scammers right off the bat.

[35:21] Dude, like, right? Especially, I mean, if you're running ads that are saying you buy locked, blocked and everything else, you know that that's gonna throw it even further and you're gonna get all the, all the weirdos from Instagram.

[35:34] We were talking about it the other day.

[35:38] I can't stand Instagram leads, man. If you need leads, you can go to Instagram. But like, I prefer Facebook,

[35:46] but Smokey.

[35:47] The Goat still doesn't want to come up and, and, and meet me at Starbucks. He wants me to come down south to him and I'm not doing that.

[35:53] Yeah,

[35:55] yeah. I don't know what it is about Instagram, dude. Like, the Instagram needs are something else, man. They're, they're a different breed. And I know some people out there make their entire business off Instagram.

[36:04] And I'm not hating, I'm just saying they're, they're pretty rough.

[36:11] Yeah, but follow up with your leads. If you don't follow up with your leads,

[36:17] you're going to have a difficult time in this business. Okay. Like that's, that's what I'm going to say about that.

[36:23] That goes with Facebook, Google, and even reach out. The crazy thing about following up on reach outs, guys, is most people never expect you to follow up ever.

[36:33] Like, if you follow up two to three times on Reach out, the likelihood that somebody actually sells to you goes way up.

[36:41] Yep.

[36:42] Spencer, do you want to talk about that?

[36:44] I mean, I, no, that's, I mean that's, that's my model. You can kind of see. So like I, I do a shotgun when I do reach out. So usually I'm just, you know, I got my preset and I just fire, fire, fire, fire, fire to the, to the ones I'm looking,

[36:57] you know, I'm actually looking to make some money on it. I don't just send it to anyone and everyone.

[37:02] And those that respond, obviously I engage with them. Those that don't. When you pull up your Facebook messenger, you can actually see if they've read it or not. It'll show their little icon, their profile picture underneath.

[37:15] I go through and the ones that saw me, I go to those and follow up. I don't follow up with the ones that didn't see me because I probably got caught up in some spam filter or they just, they're not at all interested.

[37:24] But the ones that see me, I'll follow up consistently until I get blocked,

[37:29] which doesn't not happen. It happens quite a bit.

[37:34] But it's, you know, like some people are very Nice. Like, there's this one guy, he is holding out for his HTC Vibe. I told him I could pay him a hundred dollars cash for.

[37:44] It's been sitting for months. And I follow up with them about once a week and I say, hey, any interest this week? Nope, not yet. Thank you. Nope, not yet.

[37:51] Thank you. And eventually he's gonna be like, I almost wanted to smart off and be like, you know, the value of this isn't going up, right? Like, it's gonna continue to go down week after week.

[38:02] The fact that you kept following up, like you're staying top of mind, right? Like when he, when he, you know, needs to pay his water bill, he's gonna be like, oh, well, I have this thing and this guy keeps pestering me.

[38:17] Well,

[38:18] you know, some people are really, you know, persistent and stubborn. That's fine. Like, they really want to get their top dollar.

[38:25] Some people need to have the market humble them a bit, right? And. And they realize that you're the only person inquiring about this device that they've had listed for months.

[38:34] Or like, you know, now again, there are a lot of people, I've had. Many times people tell me, I would rather let it rot in the closet than give it to you for $80.

[38:43] It's like, okay, I get it. No worries.

[38:46] You know, and I think a lot of times too, like, especially younger flippers, you know, we'll see them come into the accelerator group and you can kind of tell they haven't developed that professional maturity yet where they want to smart off.

[38:58] And they sometimes do.

[39:01] That's my base instinct, too. I'm no better than any of you. I just have to take a beat and I always leave the door open. Hey, no problem. Let me know if anything changes for you is my favorite phrase.

[39:11] I use that 100% of the time. And that always keeps the door open. Yeah, And I've had people come back and say, hey, actually, yeah, man, I'll take it. And also, sorry for being an *** earlier.

[39:20] Hey, no worries, man, you're good to go. You know what I mean? Like, it's. It's nothing for me because I'm going to make money on this and I'm. Unless I'm going to make the money I want to make on it and it's worth my time.

[39:31] I'm not going to chase you down. I'm not going to, you know, pursue it for that. Hey, here's the door. Here's what I got. Happy to be your last cash out option.

[39:40] Yep.

[39:41] I will be Here, Guaranteed sale. And people respect that, so.

[39:46] Well, I think a lot of people.

[39:48] You know, I was talking with a friend of mine.

[39:52] Like, he actually got me to sell the stuff that he had for, you know, consignment. And,

[40:00] you know, he was like, yeah, I had multiple people messaging me, but they would just always, like, fall through or not show up or whatever, you know, and, like, that's common with Facebook, especially Marketplace.

[40:11] Like, people just. They'll message you, just not. And, you know,

[40:17] they just won't talk. And then they'll be like, all right, I'm on my way. And then they never show up.

[40:21] I had this lady give me her address. This ****** me off so bad. Gave me her address. It was at 7pm at night. I've already shut down for the night. Like, I'm done.

[40:30] And I was like, hey,

[40:32] I. This is right next to my post. You know, my mail center. I hit that up around lunchtime. And can I swing by between 11 and 12 tomorrow? I can see she saw the message and she didn't reply.

[40:43] All right, I follow up in the morning early. Hey, just want to make sure we're still on. I can. You know, I just want to make sure I can come by.

[40:48] I don't want to show up unannounced.

[40:50] Nothing.

[40:52] Again, closer to the window that I agreed upon. Hey, I'm not coming by unless I can get a positive confirmation. I don't want to, you know, barge, you know, come knock on your door without being there.

[41:02] And she ended up selling it. But here's the thing. She. She came down to, like, it was a switch, yellow switch with a breath of the wild physical copy.

[41:11] She came down to 80 for me, which is great,

[41:15] but, like, have the gumption. Tell me. No, it's okay. It's not gonna hurt my feelings. Hey, sorry. Actually, I'm gonna sell it for hire. Hey, makes sense. I totally understand.

[41:24] If they fall through, let me know, but people are just. People are weird.

[41:28] Yeah. That's why you got to talk to a lot of them. Yeah.

[41:32] Yeah. But the ones that you find. So, like. And one of the points I was going to make is, you know, we talked about people not following up. Phone flippers don't want to follow up.

[41:39] They also don't want to buy Samsung and Motorolas,

[41:42] which is crazy.

[41:44] That's funny.

[41:46] Yeah. I just. Well, because here's the thing. I'll buy.

[41:50] I won't make an offer on everything, and I really should, because sometimes people do just bring me, like, junk, you know, like, it's a busted you know, S8 from. You know what I mean?

[42:00] And it's not like, not even the good kind of busted where it's like, oh, like it still turns on. Like it's doa.

[42:05] It smells funny, all of that. That definitely happens. So I don't necessarily make offers on that kind of stuff, but, like, you know, when people hit me up, I got a mo.

[42:14] I got a Samsung A15. I got a Samsung A25.

[42:18] I'll throw them 20, $40, depending on the model. And it's unlocked because those phones still sell on ebay, dude. Like, missing out on a free $40. It's so simple. And the.

[42:30] The last lady that I brought in,

[42:32] she was selling on a 25.

[42:34] She came up to see me. She was super nice, enjoyed her experience, and said, hey, my husband buys storage units, so I'm gonna give you my. Give him your card because I like the way you do business and I hope we can do business again in the future.

[42:46] So that went from a. A40 phone to now I potentially down the line, might have a storage unit connect that's legit. Like, yeah, answer your phone, dude. That's. That's the.

[42:59] That should be the title. Answer your phone, dude.

[43:01] That's clever. Because I reached out to a guy on Craigslist, of all places, which, you know, people think that deals aren't available there, but Chris could tell you otherwise. I could tell you otherwise, but I bought a Sega Genesis from a guy.

[43:13] 30 bucks, two controllers, all the connections, plus a game thing. Worked great. $30, I'm going to sell that for. I haven't sold it yet because me and my kid's been playing it.

[43:22] But, like,

[43:24] you know, I'm going to.

[43:25] Make sure you're testing it thoroughly.

[43:28] Yeah, thoroughly, right?

[43:29] For sure.

[43:31] And he was like, oh, yeah. He's like, I don't do games. He's like, I just don't do games, but I do storage units. And I was like, cool. Now he's in my phone.

[43:38] Met another guy who said he had a GameStop plug. He's like, yeah, I travel with bands and, and I run security for him. He's like, and I've got a guy I know at GameStop that just gives me old free stuff.

[43:49] And I bought a Nintendo Switch Zelda Tears of the Kingdom console from him for 200, right?

[43:59] And I mean, flip. Parted everything out for like 350. And, you know, he's like, yeah, just let me know, man. And I'm like, cool. You know, it's. It's rad. You Just keep at this.

[44:10] If you just keep at this, you are invariably, undoubtedly, unquestionably, without exception, folks going to meet people who have connections that are going to create leads for you that are,

[44:23] I mean it's just no sweat off your back. Like you're not having to do anything extra to make it happen.

[44:28] And they'll take what? Like they'll take.

[44:32] Not that I'm out here lowballing my repeats, but like they'll take a good price that's good for both of you because of the experience. Like you won't have to, you know, bid yourself up to try to maximize your competitor.

[44:45] Like do at market your com, what your competitors are doing and they'll come to you instead of GameStop.

[44:50] Yeah.

[44:50] Because you've already established that relationship.

[44:54] You know, to, to intro into a relationship. I'll always try to beat my competitors, Eco, GameStop, whoever.

[45:01] Unless it's like, you know, one of those buyers that's just like paying crazy. Then I drop the, hey, if that's what they're paying, you should definitely go to them.

[45:07] Yeah,

[45:09] dude, I say that all the time. Yeah, I get people. I had somebody yesterday, they were like, I have an iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro.

[45:17] And I was like, oh no, 15 Pro and then some. That's something else. 15 Pro Max or something. But anyway, they were, they were like, you know, reaching out because you know, AT&T Trade in and Eco ATM offered me this and I was like,

[45:34] I made my offer at 600 both because they were 18 and,

[45:41] and they were like, oh no, AT&T is offering 450. And I was like, hey, take it. Like, yeah,

[45:49] real money. But like,

[45:51] like I reckon if you're planning on upgrading, definitely take it.

[45:55] You know, like that two year contract that comes with it too. Yeah, have fun.

[46:00] Yeah.

[46:02] Which is, you know, it's fine. You know what's crazy though is a lot of the times when I say that like that I can't beat trade in price because it's not real cash.

[46:12] You're like, wait, what do you mean? I was like, oh, you didn't know? Like they're not going to give you any money. Like they're just going to put the credit toward the new phone you're going to buy from them.

[46:21] Like a lot of them don't know.

[46:24] Right.

[46:25] So well, if that's their situation, like, like I always tell people too, I think that again, trying to be different than the competition than the other phone flippers that are out there,

[46:36] it's, I genuinely want you to get the best price.

[46:39] I've said that before. Hey, if that's what you're getting, I want you to get a good price for it too.

[46:44] And I think that being authentic, being genuine, and I've, you know, I've said the thing before, like, hey, I'm not trying to chase away business, but if you're gonna, if you're gonna get that kind of money, I wouldn't want you to come to me if that's, you know, if I'm going to be underpaying you that much.

[46:58] Right.

[46:59] You know, and I still have been able to generate customers. I think that when you run a business with integrity and, you know, kindness and intent, you know, positive intent for people, you're seen less as, you know, the person that's scamming people by paying, you know, underpaying them for their devices.

[47:16] You know, my wife was like, no, Spencer, you're like, you're providing a service. Like if people have valuable things and they need cash, immediately, you're that guy. And I'm like, yeah, absolutely.

[47:27] I mean, I mean, we're willing to pay more than, you know, eco ATM most of the time and definitely pay more than the **** shops.

[47:36] Dude, **** shops. I, I realized that's how you, I learned how they, how they operate.

[47:41] Honestly, they're off.

[47:42] If you're, if you're loaning against the item, they'll pay you the, you know, the value they'll give you is more. But that's because they're going to make money on that interest and they're betting that you're probably not going to, you know, return on it.

[47:52] If you're just selling it to a **** shop, they offer you less money than they would if you were pawning against it,

[47:59] which is weird, but I learned that fact recently.

[48:05] So.

[48:08] Matt, are you joining from a different computer?

[48:10] I'm joining from. Hold on.

[48:16] Twilight's on there for a sec.

[48:17] I know.

[48:20] Yeah. I mean we're absolutely. I remember when I took the imac of that **** shop that I bought from another **** shop and they offered me $125. I'm like, what?

[48:28] Like,

[48:29] nah. Like,

[48:32] I was like, okay, so I am providing a massive service apparently to, oh, Matt closed the deal. He's going in the car to pick it up.

[48:43] Good job, Matt. Make that money, homie.

[48:46] That's great.

[48:47] But yeah, I mean, you know, we're providing a much better service than these other places are. And I think a lot of like, phone flippers don't realize that.

[48:57] Matt, what kind of deal did you Close, dude.

[49:01] So this Guy has a 27 inch Apple computer. He has listed just as a monitor but is actually an imac.

[49:08] Yeah.

[49:09] And it has, has no cable. So he's selling it for 50 bucks. So I just closed it.

[49:14] You're like, when can I come? Right now.

[49:18] You know what year it is?

[49:20] It looks to be about a 2015.

[49:23] I mean at 50 bucks it doesn't matter. He's not going to lose money on that deal. If anything, he'll make a minimum 50.

[49:29] That's great. That'll be a nice local sale for parts.

[49:32] For parts that's selling on eBay for 250.

[49:35] Hey, so Matt, I was going to ask with the other imac if you can explain. You know, I know in Console Kings subtle plug there, you do cover shipping heavy items, but is that what you plan on doing with that imac that you recently bought is kind of doing the styrofoam method and packing it and shipping it out?

[49:52] Yeah, I'm going to charge them for shipping and that way it's no skin off my back and we'll be set, we'll be all good.

[49:58] My imac locally, last one I got.

[50:01] I think I might have to start looking into Biomics because I see them around but I'm, you know, I tell people straight out when they ask me, I'm like, when they ask me to buy their monitors, I'm like, I can't ship them safely so I don't, I don't buy them.

[50:13] Yeah, I think what all what I'm doing is I'm only doing this in mostly **** shops is I'll buy the monitors and the imac specifically from **** shops and then just flip them to the local market.

[50:24] It takes a little longer, but I still make a good profit.

[50:27] I don't enjoy doing it but another thing I am doing is also offering trades as well. Like yeah, you know, if you want to Give me an iPhone 15 Pro Max for the side Mac, you know that's a.

[50:37] Let's go, let's go. You know,

[50:40] so trade up lead gen, you know, so that's the way I like to do it.

[50:47] But yeah, dude, Spencer, this is great. Dude,

[50:51] you're full time now. You are.

[50:54] What is it like always being home?

[50:57] So I really like it a lot. I, I still, like I said, I don't, I don't think I.

[51:04] I don't.

[51:04] Think I actively work less, but I can choose when I work.

[51:10] Yeah.

[51:11] And that's, that's a big part of it for me. Like you know, my Routine is I'll wake up at seven, get ready for the day, walk my daughter to school. Around eight I get home, I head straight to the basement.

[51:23] I start packing up my ebay orders.

[51:26] If, if I have things to list. My rule is I list at least three in the morning. So that way I've done at least something. Yeah.

[51:33] And from there usually it's around 11 o'clock, I'll head to the mail center, drop off my ginormous load of ebay orders because I'm pumping and sorry, just.

[51:45] Pull a picture up of that actually.

[51:48] And you know, once I do that. Throughout the day, throughout this process, I'm always getting phone calls, text messages, leads. I always pause to respond if I can because I want to catch them while they're hot.

[52:01] And I'm usually setting up any reach outs or pickups between that 12 to kind of 3 o'clock. My kids come home at 3. I'm there to greet them, give them hugs and whatever.

[52:10] I usually take a nap between 3:30 and 4:30. Just like a little power nap.

[52:16] That's smart.

[52:17] And then my scheduled meetup model is I meet people between five and six at my local Starbucks and that's when I'm closing most of my deals.

[52:27] And then I bring that stuff home. If there's anything that's really expensive and I need that cash back, I'll probably list that. That night in one of our co working sessions,

[52:35] I try to be in bed by 10 o'clock. I used to not because I was working a daytime job and I had to stay up till midnight 1:00. Not anymore.

[52:43] Now I go to bed.

[52:45] Love it.

[52:46] Rinse and repeat. Man. Money making machine.

[52:49] How's your wife lik liking it so far?

[52:52] She is annoyed that I'm always here to come up and you know, smack her on the butt when she's mopping. But you know, I'm here now. Sorry.

[53:03] Kids like it.

[53:04] Yeah. Oh, did you say my wife or my kids? Sorry. Both.

[53:07] Yeah.

[53:08] Yeah, kids are, I mean honestly my, my, my youngest really loves it. You know, she's the daddy's girl, so she's got it.

[53:16] You know, my oldest,

[53:19] they like it because they just come down here, come outside, you know, and just yap, tell me about their day. Like literally unloads the whole day as soon as they come home from school.

[53:27] It's like, all right, cool, let's talk about it.

[53:32] Yeah, and that's how it is, right? Like, you know, I mean,

[53:36] I think I, you know, I don't even see the I don't know. Like, I've actually been that way for a long time, you know, so it's, it's harder to explain now, I guess,

[53:47] because my, I mean, my kids don't know any different, you know? Yeah, like, I'm never gone and like, when I go get deals, a lot of times they come with me.

[53:55] Well, and that's, that's what I'm so stoked about. My oldest, you know, they want to start making some money on their own.

[54:03] And, you know, their, their plan and their goal is to be a piercing artist when they get older. Like, that's their goal is to do that. And I said, hey, that's awesome.

[54:12] There's a good chance you're gonna be working on your own doing that. You're gonna be a contractor or a business owner. I said, so I'm so happy that I learned that I'm learning how to do a business and run a business and work for yourself at 30 something years old.

[54:26] And then I can give you a front row sheet on, like, margins and, you know, logistics, costs or whatever. Not that, you know, Pearson's going to have that, but like, just the attitude of, like, you create your money and you don't have to work at a bank if you don't want to for sure,

[54:41] you know, And I think that that's valuable. So they want to come with me and do pickups and, you know, clean out Xboxes because we all know how dusty those Xbox One is.

[54:51] Oh, good God.

[54:53] There's like a layer of dust down here because I don't go outside to blow them out. I blow out just right here in the basement and there's like a layer of dust everywhere just from, like blowing them out.

[55:04] It's crazy.

[55:04] That's hilarious, by the way.

[55:06] Yeah, they're always dusty, though, all the time getting, getting with stuff in them.

[55:13] But just getting a, getting an opportunity to, to show my kid a way that they can make their own money without being dependent on others. Because I don't think I was shown that as a kid.

[55:23] I was told, go to college, get a, get a job. And I was. My intent was to climb the corporate ladder until August 2022, and I learned about reselling books.

[55:33] And I was like, wait, you can buy things at a thrift store and sell it online? What?

[55:40] Now we're here.

[55:44] Dude. That's cool. Because I started with flipping books as well. I was like, there's an app.

[55:49] Yeah, there's an app you can literally find that you can download and they'll pay you a certain amount. And so I started scanning all the books that I had in boxes just sitting at my house.

[55:59] And I think I sent that in and made like 50 bucks. And then I was like, oh, that's cool. And then, you know, flipped that Kelty backpack that was chilling in my house, which I had had from taking my kids hiking in days in Colorado when we were house sitting for friends in Colorado Springs,

[56:17] of all places.

[56:18] Shout out.

[56:19] Yeah, and. Yeah, well, after I sold that backpack, you know, the rest is history.

[56:25] Yeah.

[56:30] Well.

[56:32] Well, we're all three just dads flipping dads, you know. Look at that.

[56:37] Love it. Well,

[56:39] that's probably a good place to wrap up for this podcast. I think we dropped a good amount of nuggets, good amount of knowledge to help you guys out.

[56:49] Guys, I really appreciate you guys listening to this podcast. A lot of you guys reached out and just told me how impactful the stories and things have been.

[56:59] So super glad that we can bring this type of content to you guys and we'll just keep on doing because we honestly love doing it.

[57:07] So, you know, whether you're out flipping in your car right now or, you know, doing whatever you're doing, you know, we do appreciate you guys tapping in to listen in to what we're doing.

[57:16] You know, how we're helping people grow their business and you know, the breakthroughs that happen because,

[57:23] you know, stories like Spencer is. Is what we want, right? Like, we want people to be able to basically take control of their own life and not not be steered in whatever direction that they have to be to make things happen.

[57:38] And that's what this podcast is all about. That's what Re Accelerator is about. You know, our. Our goal is to create a fleet of buyback business owners to help people just win,

[57:49] win in their life, win in business, win. You know, and you know, a lot of you guys have reached out about my weight loss stuff, guys. The only way I was able to like have the time and the discipline to do that was honestly, it was all built, actually reselling and it gave me the time and the ability to actually,

[58:06] actually fully take control of my life.

[58:10] So, you know, if there's anybody else out there that, that wants that type of thing, feel free to reach out to me, have a conversation. Hit me on Facebook, not Instagram.

[58:20] I don't ever check that.

[58:25] Every time I get on there. It's just stuff I don't want to see. So,

[58:29] so funny.

[58:31] So, yeah, hit me up on Facebook. Don't email me. I probably won't see it.

[58:36] You know, I only the important emails,

[58:39] but feel free to reach out. We'll have a conversation.

[58:43] We do have some new stuff for accelerator in terms of like payment plans and like things like that, which we didn't really have before just because our program is. It's pretty sacred to us.

[58:55] We want to make sure that the right people come in. We want more people like Spencer, more people like, you know, the people that you guys have seen on this podcast want to create a community of like minded people,

[59:07] you know, that we can, that we can help, that we can buy from. That's another big part of this too.

[59:13] For those of you that don't know,

[59:16] we, we run Mercury Electronics and we buy phones and MacBooks and iPads and stuff for people.

[59:23] Aaron Goldstein runs the inventory part, I run the marketing part.

[59:28] But with that being said, guys, if you're just starting in this business, go to episode 11. Listen to the ebook Spencer started on. The ebook he bought the 4.95 piece.

[59:39] Read through it real quick. Went through the starter kit with formerly the starter kit is now Buyback Academy. You can find all the links and stuff below for that.

[59:49] With that being said, Spencer, thanks for coming on again, dude. Oh, by the way, also you guys are interested in consoles. We do have Console Kings right now. Console Kings is hosted on school.

[01:00:01] Feel free to check that out. If that's the only thing you're interested in, go for it. We do have some people that are just like I know phones. I want to know more about consoles.

[01:00:09] Well, there you go.

[01:00:10] It's very.

[01:00:12] We can help you out folks if you want to learn about consoles and.

[01:00:16] More consoles and more more through that.

[01:00:20] 70 something different types of items you've got.

[01:00:41] See you guys later. Have a great day. Keep flipping. Just remember guys, you guys are only a few flips away from whatever you want. So it doesn't take much. You just need the skill set and yeah, see you guys later.
