Do you think a community
Speaker:gets you results?
Speaker:This is the question I ask myself often.
Speaker:I know that when we're in a
Speaker:community, we can feel a sense
Speaker:of belonging, a sense of purpose.
Speaker:We can share knowledge and
Speaker:we can learn from others.
Speaker:it feels supportive and encouraging if
Speaker:you've got the right network and we can
Speaker:feel like we've got some cheerleaders
Speaker:that we can call on from time to time.
Speaker:Does that translate into results?
Speaker:That's my question.
Speaker:How can you say, this community I am in.
Speaker:gave me a return on investment.
Speaker:I'm thinking results, collaborations
Speaker:or partnerships or clients,
Speaker:any of those kinds of things.
Speaker:In February, 2023, I started with
Speaker:a couple of friends, a local Catch
Speaker:up for mums who were in business.
Speaker:Actually, they don't even have
Speaker:to be mums, but there were women
Speaker:in business in my local area.
Speaker:We catch up once a month
Speaker:for an hour for a coffee.
Speaker:We started with three or four
Speaker:of us and now it's grown into, I
Speaker:think the last one, 20 people came.
Speaker:And it just goes to show that
Speaker:people are really looking for that
Speaker:connection and that community.
Speaker:we share what our goals
Speaker:are for the next month.
Speaker:We look at what we actually need to
Speaker:achieve and we talk about those things.
Speaker:Amazing, amazing conversations
Speaker:that happen and incredible ideas
Speaker:that falls out of that when you
Speaker:share what's happening for you and
Speaker:someone can say, Oh, I did that.
Speaker:And here's what I did.
Speaker:Amazing.
Speaker:But one of the things, and one
Speaker:of the stories that stuck with
Speaker:me is we had a lady come in.
Speaker:Her name is Kirsten.
Speaker:And Kirsten is a marketing guru,
Speaker:Kirsten came in and she was working
Speaker:with a winery and she was looking
Speaker:for someone to help them with sales.
Speaker:And one of our other ladies in
Speaker:this group, and our group is
Speaker:called Eastern Biz Collective, if
Speaker:you want to follow on Instagram.
Speaker:Uh, and if you're a local to the
Speaker:Knox area, please come and join us.
Speaker:And, uh, Lauren was a salesperson.
Speaker:she's got her own sales Academy now, and
Speaker:she does a whole stack of other stuff.
Speaker:And we were talking one day about
Speaker:what Kirsten was looking for and her
Speaker:and Lauren connected over coffee.
Speaker:And then Kirsten bought Lauren
Speaker:into that business and they
Speaker:started working together and then
Speaker:Kirsten and Lauren bought in Nick.
Speaker:who was their photographer.
Speaker:And all of that came out of a coffee
Speaker:catch up at Eastside Biz Collective.
Speaker:To me, that is the power of community.
Speaker:That is the type of result
Speaker:that we want, right?
Speaker:We want to be able to
Speaker:connect in with people.
Speaker:We don't want to feel like we have
Speaker:to refer people in, but we want to
Speaker:connect in with people genuinely
Speaker:who are in alignment with us and
Speaker:who have a different skillset to us,
Speaker:And also make sure that it's fun.
Speaker:Right?
Speaker:So anyway, Lauren, Kirsten and Nick were
Speaker:a beautiful complimentary team and they
Speaker:went into this winery and they helped
Speaker:this winery with their marketing, with
Speaker:their sales, with their photography.
Speaker:It was amazing.
Speaker:It was an amazing collaboration
Speaker:that came out very naturally
Speaker:from Eastside Biz Collective.
Speaker:Some of the collaborations that happen
Speaker:don't always come out that naturally.
Speaker:Sometimes we have to find
Speaker:people to collaborate with.
Speaker:Sometimes we have bad
Speaker:experiences in collaboration.
Speaker:Sometimes the collaborations or
Speaker:the partnerships are not win win.
Speaker:So I'm going to put that out there
Speaker:because those things are also very true.
Speaker:I think the other thing that, was on my
Speaker:mind is that results can mean different
Speaker:things for different people, So it could
Speaker:be about meeting up with a community and
Speaker:just, you know, Tweaks to your mindset.
Speaker:You might come in with a fixed mindset,
Speaker:which is I can't move from this
Speaker:point, and you might meet someone
Speaker:who's got a great growth mindset and
Speaker:they say, I'd see it differently.
Speaker:And they challenge you
Speaker:to think differently.
Speaker:And you come out of that
Speaker:thinking, Oh my goodness.
Speaker:That's been an amazing use of time.
Speaker:It could be that you're stuck
Speaker:on an idea and you've, you need
Speaker:a new idea for a fresh offer.
Speaker:one of my clients needed a
Speaker:new newsletter name and she
Speaker:was just stuck, a bit clogged.
Speaker:And, by talking in a community group,
Speaker:she actually came up with the name.
Speaker:Someone came up with the name for
Speaker:her and it was just the creative
Speaker:thing that she needed to get going.
Speaker:I run a program called Revenue Raiser,
Speaker:and that's to help women who are either
Speaker:looking to make 10, 000 a month in their
Speaker:first instance, or create a new offer,
Speaker:which will give them 10, 000 a month.
Speaker:And in Revenue Raiser, as the name says,
Speaker:the whole point is to raise revenue.
Speaker:And this week we talked about, sales
Speaker:calls, scary sales calls, and outreach,
Speaker:because you have to go out to people
Speaker:and say, here's what I've got.
Speaker:Would you like it?
Speaker:Or here's what I've got.
Speaker:do you know of anyone who would like it?
Speaker:We have to do that outreach
Speaker:and that can be so, so scary.
Speaker:And so this week we said it's a sales
Speaker:challenge and it wasn't really a sales
Speaker:challenge, more of an outreach challenge.
Speaker:we all committed to make five phone
Speaker:calls or outreach or emails, whatever
Speaker:it was, DMs, Within the next few days.
Speaker:And I have to say that that group
Speaker:has gone above and beyond the
Speaker:camaraderie in the group, the lessons
Speaker:learned in the group, the failings
Speaker:were shared in the group and the
Speaker:cheerleading that's happened in
Speaker:the group has been extraordinary.
Speaker:And that's only been
Speaker:for a couple of days.
Speaker:People have already had wins.
Speaker:People have had people
Speaker:booking in for their calls.
Speaker:and when people get stuck,
Speaker:they jump on the group and
Speaker:go, I'm a bit stuck on this.
Speaker:Does anyone have A, B or C?
Speaker:And they all help you.
Speaker:If I think about what's different
Speaker:about that versus doing it on
Speaker:your own, on your own, there's
Speaker:no one to hold you accountable.
Speaker:Also, there was a group purpose.
Speaker:We're all like, let's do this together.
Speaker:And it really felt like
Speaker:we were in it together.
Speaker:And I think that's the difference.
Speaker:I think that's the difference.
Speaker:That's the power of community
Speaker:and getting results that
Speaker:you're not sitting there alone.
Speaker:You're not thinking, I
Speaker:don't know how to do this.
Speaker:I don't know who to talk
Speaker:to, et cetera, et cetera.
Speaker:You basically jump on and say, Hey,
Speaker:this Ladies, I'm stuck with this.
Speaker:Help me with this, or
Speaker:I've got this issue.
Speaker:someone else experienced that?
Speaker:And you get real quick time feedback
Speaker:and you go and try it again.
Speaker:So I guess my question to you is when
Speaker:you think about the community that
Speaker:you in, is it getting you results?
Speaker:Does it really need to get your results?
Speaker:And are you happy with it?
Speaker:I think, especially women in business,
Speaker:they spread themselves really thin.
Speaker:And this week I got an email
Speaker:from someone else who was in
Speaker:East side business collective.
Speaker:Uh, and she said, Emma, I don't
Speaker:think I can commit anymore because.
Speaker:I'm already into net
Speaker:business networking groups.
Speaker:And I'm like, that's so good that
Speaker:she knows herself so well that
Speaker:she can say no to group, And
Speaker:that she already has some support.
Speaker:So if you're not in a community group,
Speaker:if you're not in any kind of group, I
Speaker:would encourage you to get into a group.
Speaker:And if you are in a group, is
Speaker:it still meeting your needs
Speaker:and are you getting results?
Speaker:And do you even care about results?
Speaker:I care about results.
Speaker:I'm known as the results coach.
Speaker:I really, really like results.
Speaker:When a client comes to me and one of
Speaker:our filter questions is, you know,
Speaker:are you prepared to do the work?
Speaker:Because if you're not
Speaker:prepared to do the work.
Speaker:And you expect someone else
Speaker:to do the work, then we're
Speaker:going to drive each other nuts.
Speaker:And that's a great filter question.
Speaker:Cause I think people are like, Oh,
Speaker:she's not going to do it for me.
Speaker:But I also know that if that person
Speaker:signed up, that would be bitterly
Speaker:disappointed because I will guide
Speaker:and cheerlead and encourage all I
Speaker:possibly can come up with practical
Speaker:solutions, come up with strategies,
Speaker:do 30, 60, 90 day plans, whatever it
Speaker:is that is necessary to get results,
Speaker:but ultimately the results are on you.
Speaker:So.
Speaker:Are you in a community?
Speaker:Is it getting you the results you want?
Speaker:I would love to hear, you
Speaker:know, where to find me.
Speaker:I would love to hear how
Speaker:your community is going.
