Today's tip comes from RSPA and PPA Certified Pickleball Pro, Jim Carella.

Speaker:

Have a listen and let us know what you think.

Speaker:

Hi, Jim Carella here, aka Jimbo Pickleball.

Speaker:

Today we're talking about dinking and why we dink.

Speaker:

First, I think there are three reasons.

Speaker:

One is to open up the court with good angled dinks.

Speaker:

You can expose more space.

Speaker:

Second is checking on your opponent's skill to dink.

Speaker:

It's a high level shot and they may not be able to execute it.

Speaker:

Why not take advantage of that?

Speaker:

And finally, the most rewarding of all is the pop-up.

Speaker:

Dinking in a spot which creates a pop-up that you can attack.

Speaker:

So dinking is not just to be soft.

Speaker:

Dinking is to try to find offense in the game.

Speaker:

Hope this helps.

Speaker:

Happy pickling.

Speaker:

Well, there you have it.
