Truthspresso, episode 321.
HostIn a world gone bonkers, it is.
CommentatorNot, generally speaking, unruly, but fires have been started.
HostAnd where the culture is a dumpster fire.
VoterWe're coming for your children.
HostAnd churches have lost their way.
ParticipantI am really uncomfortable with the story of the crucifixion.
HostIt's time to wake up with Truth Truthspresso, your weekly shot of truth.
HostAnd now your host, Daniel Minick.
Daniel MinickWell, hey there, friends, family, foes, and of course, lurkers alike.
Daniel MinickThis is your host, Daniel Minick for another exciting episode of Truthspresso.
Daniel MinickAnd once again, the seasons come and go.
Daniel MinickAlthough this episode is talking about election season, I'm also talking about flu season.
Daniel MinickAnd so I don't know if you could tell from the tone of my voice, but I am once again under the weather.
Daniel MinickBut I plan to weather out this storm and record this episode because I don't want to wait too long to talk about this topic.
Daniel MinickSince the election just happened, it seems a little time sensitive and I think I'm going to be okay here.
Daniel MinickSo here we go.
Daniel MinickAnd in around where I live, we actually got the first snow of the season.
Daniel MinickAt first it was like a little dusting, but then the weather said, oh yeah, you think that's something?
Daniel MinickTry this.
Daniel MinickAnd then a few days later we got a storm that dumped maybe about 8 inches of snow.
Daniel MinickAnd then we got about one day of not snowing before another storm came and dumped another like foot of snow here.
Daniel MinickSo it's kind of like welcome to winter weather now.
Daniel MinickSorry we can't ease it into you, but if you like snow, here it is in one big dump.
Daniel MinickGet used to it, pal.
Daniel MinickSo I spent a little bit of the day as I record this Saturday shoveling some of that second round of snow.
Daniel MinickAnd well, the long awaited 2024 election has come and gone.
Daniel MinickWell, mostly gone.
Daniel MinickThere are still a few straggling races in the House and Senate that have yet to be called as of this recording.
Daniel MinickSome have called the Senate race in Pennsylvania for Republican David McCormick, but Democrat Bob Casey Jr.
Daniel MinickStill hasn't conceded.
Daniel MinickAnd being originally a native from Pennsylvania, the state where I grew up in as a child until I went to college, I know what the Casey dynasty is like there.
Daniel MinickBob Casey senior was originally a Catholic and pro life Democrat for a while a few decades ago, but eventually he kind of caved on his pro life convictions trying to work with other Democrats to do Democrat things.
Daniel MinickAnd it seems like Bob Casey Jr.
Daniel MinickHas kind of given up on the conservative positions his proposed faith would entail and is just an all out leftist Democrat.
Daniel MinickAnd so we will see for sure what the final result says in that election.
Daniel MinickAnd Kerry Lake, who ran for governor of Arizona against Katie Hobbs in 2022 and faced the sloth slow incompetent vote counting system in Arizona, tried to sue over election fraud because it seemed like she likely would have won but then eventually decided to run this year for an open U.S.
Daniel Minicksenate seat from Arizon Kyrsten Sinema, a supposed moderate Democrat who switched to independent and decided not to run for re election, left the Senate open and Kerry Lake ran against far left Ruben Gallego.
Daniel MinickNow once again, as it seems always the case now with Kerry Lake, the race is close.
Daniel MinickAnd once again, just like in 2020 and 2022, Maricopa County, Arizona is where all the controversy is happening.
Daniel MinickOnce again the votes trickle in at glacial speed as various ballot drops happen to spread or tighten the race a bit.
Daniel MinickAnd once again we may never know for sure if fraud happened in this election in Arizona.
Daniel MinickThere and the so called Republican election supervisors like Stephen Richer and Bill Gates seem to act like nothing unusual or suspicious suspicious happens there.
Daniel MinickNow this Bill Gates isn't the billionaire Bill Gates of Microsoft infamy.
Daniel MinickThis is a different Bill Gates.
Daniel MinickBut of course the biggest news of this election was the race for President of the United States.
Daniel MinickBoth sides feared the worst for their lives and for the nation if their favorite candidate, or the least despised candidate maybe in many cases didn't win the race.
Daniel MinickAll the polls suggested a nail bitingly close race and we even had to worry if there would be a 269, 269 electoral college split and have to resort to parts of the Constitution we haven't had to use in a long time.
Daniel MinickYou know, kind of like exercising a rarely used muscle group.
Daniel MinickYet that's not what happened.
Daniel MinickThe more the votes came in during the evening, the more the final scenario was playing out.
Daniel MinickAnd I remember going to bed Tuesday evening, November 5, wondering if the current trends would hold or if we would see the dreaded 3am ballot drops on Wednesday morning again in swing states.
Daniel MinickAt one point I happened to wake up around 12:30am I think a little after that.
Daniel MinickAnd I checked the news and the maps on my phone again just for kicks.
Daniel MinickAnd then I saw it just starting to get called for Donald J.
Daniel MinickTrump.
Daniel MinickSo Donald Trump will now be the first president since Grover Cleveland to be elected to serve two separate terms.
Daniel MinickCleveland was 22 and 24 and Trump would be 45 and 47.
Daniel MinickAnd what was Astounding was that Trump gained ground in every state and almost every county across the nation.
Daniel MinickHe gained ground among various demographics.
Daniel MinickAnd I will provide links to my sources where I got this information in the show notes so you could look for yourself.
Daniel Minick16% of blacks voted for Trump, which was up from 8% in 2020, so that doubled.
Daniel MinickBut among the blacks that voted in the election, Trump got 24% of the black men.
Daniel Minick42% of Latinos voted for Trump, up from 35% in 2020.
Daniel MinickBut among the Latinos that voted in the election, Trump got 47% of the Latino men.
Daniel MinickAnd when it comes to white voters, things get interesting.
Daniel MinickIn 2020, 55% of white women voted for Trump, but that actually went down to 53% this time around.
Daniel MinickIn 2020, 61% of white men voted for Trump, and that also went down 60% this time.
Daniel MinickSo what was that about Trump being a racist and only appealing to white privilege?
Daniel MinickThings are kind of interesting when you compare 2020 to 2024.
Daniel MinickAnd my liberal Democrat coworker who inspired my Was Jesus a Socialist series and my Did Trump really say that series?
Daniel MinickWondered when he came into the office the first time I saw him after the election.
Daniel MinickHe wondered if the election results showed a mass psychosis of people who otherwise would have voted for Harris.
Daniel MinickThey wanted to vote for Harris, but they struggled and they retracted at the last minute from unconscious misogyny and voted for Trump instead.
Daniel MinickOr something.
Daniel MinickI mean, as he articulated eloquently his theory of misogyny here, there had to have been quite a few people who voted for Trump who really wanted to vote for Harris.
Daniel MinickBut there was something inside of them that said, are you really, really ready to vote for the first woman president?
Daniel MinickMaybe you should rethink that.
Daniel MinickLike their hands trying to vote for Harris and then their other hands grabbing the wrist and pulling back and directing it over, and they fill in the bubble for Trump, Trump.
Daniel MinickAnd then they start taking deep breaths, trying to encourage themselves that maybe that was the right thing to do.
Daniel MinickNow, of course, there are plenty of women in other federal offices, and Hillary Clinton in 2016 won the popular vote, but not the electoral vote.
Daniel MinickSo maybe that question is not the one to ask, but why couldn't they vote for Harris if the issue, according to statistics, is just an issue of misogyny, especially when black men shifted toward Trump?
Daniel MinickIt's not racism either, it seems.
Daniel MinickNow, I suggested to my co worker that the reason maybe, just maybe, had something to do with policies, and that the question are you better off now than you were four or five years ago was actually the question a lot of voters were asking themselves.
Daniel MinickMaybe that's what Occam's Razor would say about the election data.
Daniel MinickAnd Trump saw point gains across rural, suburban and urban voters.
Daniel MinickTrump gained 1 point on voters with a college degree and 4 points on those without a college degree.
Daniel MinickNow, before you think that that just means Trump appeals to the uneducated.
Daniel MinickThose without a college degree include those in the trades like plumbing and electrician, who run small businesses.
Daniel MinickAnd some of them may make as much money as college graduates or even more.
Daniel MinickThey're small business owners in there.
Daniel MinickIn fact, I would suggest that if we could subdivide the college degree demographic down to the ones who have outstanding student debt, we would probably see that the young people there who got degrees in gender studies, philosophy, art, history, generic liberal arts, underwater basket weaving, and perhaps any degree starting with something hyphen American or ending in studies probably voted the most for Kamala Harris over others who got college degrees, such as in engineering.
Daniel MinickAnd they were hoping that she would continue Joe Biden's defiance of the Supreme Court and the Constitution to take money from those who never got a college degree, or even those who paid off their debts, and to give that money to the college graduates who can't get a job that would pay off those debts on their worthless degrees.
Daniel MinickNow, that's speculation on my part, but I don't see what else would make sense there.
Daniel MinickThe largest age groups to vote for Trump were gen Xers at 52% and baby boomers at 51%.
Daniel MinickSo what is that about people worrying that Trump's going to take away their Social Security even as they're in retirement age?
Daniel MinickTrump has promised not to take away anyone's Social Security, but nevertheless, the propaganda persisted, and it seems that it didn't work either.
Daniel MinickNow, these two age groups, the Gen Xers and the baby boomers, didn't change as much from 2020.
Daniel MinickThey went up a point or something.
Daniel MinickThe most significant changes came in the younger voters.
Daniel MinickMillennials jumped from 43% in 2020 to 47% in 2024.
Daniel MinickSo that's a four point jump in favor of Trump in millennials.
Daniel MinickGen Z ers jumped from 36% in 2020 to a whopping 46% in 2024.
Daniel MinickThat's a 10 point increase from four years ago.
Daniel MinickAnd we're talking about the youngest voting demographic.
Daniel MinickTrump seems indeed to be appealing to younger voters even more.
Daniel MinickAnd this tells me that the young people realize that this current administration has Been stealing the American dream from them.
Daniel MinickNow, of course, the Fed slashed interest rates to zero in 2020 while Trump was president.
Daniel MinickAnd you know how that works.
Daniel MinickLower interest rates encourage more borrowing, making buying a home more enticing.
Daniel MinickBut that increases demand for mortgages, which of course then eventually pushes prices up.
Daniel MinickBut the Biden administration didn't do anything to stop that when they held the reins.
Daniel MinickThey first said inflation was an illusion, and then it was transitory, and then it was just something wealthy people were paying.
Daniel MinickAnd then it was a thing for the falsely named Inflation Reduction act to solve, which was later admitted to be a green energy spending bill in disguise.
Daniel MinickAnd then we were supposed to be happy just because the rate of price inflation was getting lower?
Daniel MinickOh yes, your prices are still sky high and getting higher by the month.
Daniel MinickBut the speed of that was tapering a little downward.
Daniel MinickStop complaining.
Daniel MinickAnd the price of a home mortgage more than doubled in many places in two years.
Daniel MinickThat's insane.
Daniel MinickAnd prices haven't been deflating as fast as they inflated.
Daniel MinickThe fed funds rate climbed from 0% before March 2022, when inflation worries really happening, to 5.5% in July 2023.
Daniel MinickThat's a 5.5% rate increase in a little over one year.
Daniel MinickAnd that was the Fed's attempt to fight inflation.
Daniel MinickThat's quite a shock on the borrowing boom of the years from 2020 to 2022.
Daniel MinickThe average annual salary last year was just under $60,000.
Daniel MinickBut the average median national price for a home is close to $400,000, making the average median national salary needed to buy that house close to $105,000 per year.
Daniel MinickThe American dream of getting married, buying a home and raising a family is far out of reach for the average young person, like the average Gen Z voter or the average younger millennial.
Daniel MinickAnd that's a tragedy for a first world country.
Daniel MinickAnd we can understand why many Gen Z and millennial voters switched to voting for Trump this year.
Daniel MinickYet even when interest rates were going up, the Biden administration spent like kids in a candy shop using their parents credit card.
Daniel MinickUnder Trump's four years, the total deficit spending was 5.56 trillion.
Daniel MinickAnd 7.4 trillion was added to the debt.
Daniel MinickAnd that's a lot.
Daniel MinickBut over half of that, or about 4.2 trillion of that that was added to the debt was from pandemic spending in 2020, such as from the CARES Act.
Daniel MinickNow I was totally against all that, and you can check it out on my 2020 episodes.
Daniel MinickBut I understand why Trump thought it was politically necessary to fix a problem.
Daniel MinickDemocrats try to criticize Trump for being a big spending administration, but they don't tell you why there was so much and it was because of the Cares act in 2020 and that 2020 was anomaly compared to the other three years.
Daniel MinickAnd yet there were more Democrats in favor of the Cares act in 2020 than there were Republicans.
Daniel MinickAnd some Democrats wanted to spend even more than what was passed in the final bill.
Daniel MinickSo they don't have anything to accuse Trump about there.
Daniel MinickUnder the Biden administration's first three years, not 4, $5.8 trillion in deficit spending happened.
Daniel MinickSo Biden's administration had a deficit of hundreds of billions of dollars more in three years than in Trump's four years, including the massive pandemic spending.
Daniel MinickJust put that into perspective here.
Daniel MinickThe Biden admin also added $5.1 trillion to the debt in those three years and fiscal year 2024 is set to hit deficit spending of around $2 trillion and add over $2.3 trillion to the debt in this year alone.
Daniel MinickThe Biden administration seems to refuse to accept that the pandemic is over and maybe we don't need to spend as if we're in a raging pandemic.
Daniel MinickAnd I'll provide links in the show notes to sources showing some of these statistics where I got them from.
Daniel MinickAnd given all this insanity where those in charge keep spending more and more of the money they didn't earn through their own work, it's no wonder that there was a dramatic shift of voters away from Kamala Harris, which to them was more of the same or maybe even worse to someone that they may remember from a few years ago where things felt a lot better.
Daniel MinickAlso, more normal people from non white demographics shifted to Trump because they were also sick of all the clown world social policies where they have to worry about their kids possibly getting indoctrinated and harassed in school and having boys claiming to be girls and school invading their sports and locker rooms and restrooms.
Daniel MinickIt seems that Trump's ad that they're all about they them but he's about you seem to pay off seem to resonate with people.

Daniel MinickSo now that we have the election results, as I anticipated, there has been quite the meltdown from the other side.
Daniel MinickNow, Jimmy Kimmel, when giving his first comedy routine after the election.
Daniel MinickSo on November 6, he had to choke back tears.
Daniel MinickAnd the parts that he had to struggle the most not to break down was when he was mentioning the effects on illegal immigrants and on Ukraine.
Daniel MinickSo let's play a clip of that.
CommentatorLet's be honest, it was a terrible night last night.
CommentatorIt was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hardworking immigrants who make this country go.
CommentatorFor healthcare, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech.
CommentatorIt was a terrible night for poor people, for the middle class, for seniors who rely on Social Security, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO, for the troops and democracy and decency.
CommentatorAnd it was a terrible night for everyone who voted against him.
CommentatorAnd guess what?
CommentatorIt was a Bad night for everyone who voted for him, too.
CommentatorYou just don't realize it yet.
CommentatorAnd most of all.
Daniel MinickAnd yeah, there's plenty of other meltdown things I could do.
Daniel MinickI could play clips from the View, from msnbc, from abc, from CNN and so on.
Daniel MinickBut I would like to play a few clips from average people, like those who.
Daniel MinickAnd when I say average, I mean those who are not in high positions in government and news and stuff like that.
Daniel MinickBut I'll play clips of some people, mostly women, mostly younger women, that they did on TikTok and showing they're melting down.
Daniel MinickAnd I'll provide a link to a Sky News Australia video on YouTube that has a lot of these clips in one video.
Daniel MinickSo that made it convenient here.
Daniel MinickBut the first one that we hear is that one woman screams in her bathroom while covering her face and swaying back and forth on her knees.
Daniel MinickNow, the next woman that we will hear is one who's in her car and she screams and cries and grips her steering wheel and shakes herself.
Daniel MinickAnd so let's hear some of that.
Meltdown PersonI'm sorry.
Meltdown PersonNo, no, no, no.
Meltdown PersonWhy?
Meltdown PersonWhy, why, why, why?
VoterWhy?
Meltdown PersonDo you really hate me that bad?
Daniel MinickAnd now the next one is a woman who cries and lectures the voters about what they've just done to her and what is wrong with you guys?
Daniel MinickSo let's listen to that.
VoterWhat is wrong with you?
VoterI can't.
VoterI can't do this anymore.
VoterI'm literally sick.
VoterI'm literally sick to my stomach.
VoterWhat has happened to America?
VoterWhat has happened to democracy?
VoterWhat has happened to freedom?
VoterI'm done.
VoterThis is a mess.
VoterTo anyone who follows me.
VoterIf you voted for Trump, unfollow me and block me.
VoterIf you didn't vote, unfollow me and block me.
VoterThe fact that it's this close means I've lost all hope in the American people.
VoterLike, it should not be this close.
VoterWhy would anyone vote for this person?
VoterHe's so evil.
VoterHe's so demented.
VoterI.
VoterKamala's not perfect.
VoterWe all know that.
VoterWe all know that she is not a convicted felon, rapist, crazy, fascist, dictator, psycho.
Daniel MinickAnd now, finally, here's a clip of an old man with a beard and he's wearing a rainbow scarf and a rainbow beanie and possibly nothing else.
Daniel MinickAnd then he cries about the election results like a child throwing a tantrum.
Meltdown PersonYou cannot be serious.
Meltdown PersonHow did I wake up to this garbage as my president.
Meltdown PersonThat's right, garbage.
Meltdown PersonI went to bed last night and she was ahead.
Meltdown PersonI woke up to this freaking Nightmare.
Meltdown PersonDonald Trump.
Meltdown PersonHow does America have this many Nazi Hitler following pieces of trash?
Meltdown PersonI thought America was already great.
Meltdown PersonKamala was.
Meltdown PersonHad our.
Meltdown PersonHad our economy skyrocketing.
Meltdown PersonPeople were.
Meltdown PersonPeople were happy.
Meltdown PersonYou could feel the joy in her campaign.
Meltdown PersonAnd then all of a sudden, it's just been hijacked by these freaks of nature.
Meltdown PersonThey called himself Trump supporters.
Meltdown PersonNobody wants to live in a country full of hate.
Daniel MinickIt's all hate, hate, hate, hate.
Meltdown PersonTrump hates everybody that's not white.
Meltdown PersonAnd I can't believe people of color.
Meltdown PersonPeople of color actually voted for him.
Meltdown PersonHow does that happen?
Meltdown PersonWhat does he pay them?
Meltdown PersonI'll give you some money if you vote against your own people.
Meltdown PersonDoes that.
Meltdown PersonThis is not gonna end well at all.
Meltdown PersonIt is not gonna end well.
Daniel MinickNow, there are plenty more clips that I could play, and my purpose in playing these clips is not to just provide entertainment here, but just to show how some people are not happy about the election results.
Daniel MinickI also saw on X, formerly known as Twitter, that some woman posted a picture allegedly of her arm as it is in the hospital with an IV in it and said that the trauma of the election caused her to end up in the hospital and that the Trump voters are all morally responsible for this.
Daniel MinickYou know, her blood is on their hands.
Daniel MinickSo, yes, before you vote for someone like Trump, you need to keep in mind that someone might end up in the hospital.
Daniel MinickHospital and need an IV for the trauma.
Daniel MinickSo if you care about people like that, vote accordingly, I guess.
Daniel MinickAnd of course, there are plenty of videos now of women pledging to embrace the 4B movement that began in South Korea, I think, back in 2019, in which they would practice abstinence to punish the patriarchy.
Daniel MinickAnd one video of note is a woman lecturing the evil voters while cutting her hair shorter.
Daniel MinickYou know, that'll show those men who voted for Trump.
Daniel MinickGuess what?
Daniel MinickTrump voters.
Daniel MinickShe is not available.
Daniel MinickFeel the hurt.
ParticipantJust woke up this morning feeling spicy.
ParticipantYou guys feel spicy?
ParticipantBecause I do.
ParticipantAll right.
ParticipantI don't know how to use this thing.
ParticipantLet's see what happens.
ParticipantIs this cutting off hair?
ParticipantCut it.
ParticipantI'm gonna have to cut it shorter than that.
ParticipantBuzz it down, right?
ParticipantI think that this is too.
ParticipantIt's getting hair.
ParticipantLet's see here.
ParticipantMaybe I gotta cut it.
ParticipantHere we go.
ParticipantHave I given up on America?
ParticipantHave also given up on coloring this hair?
Daniel MinickBecause right now, unfortunately, you know, I'm not saying that just to be mocking here, because I want us to digest this.
Daniel MinickWe should pity these people and not just look at that as entertainment.
Daniel MinickNow I know it's easy to want to drink and bathe in the tears of those who are acting immaturely, acting like children who had their toys taken away over this election.
Daniel MinickShould we look at all of this meltdown and treat the election results just as a victory to rubbing people's faces?
Daniel MinickShould we just delight in the immaturity of people on the other side here?
Daniel MinickAnd I don't know who's listening to this episode.
Daniel MinickI presume that most people who find this podcast, or listening to it, especially through the Christian Podcast Community feed, probably, you know, are at least more favorable to Trump than they were to Biden or Harris.
Daniel MinickI don't presume to guess at what the listeners are like, but I presume that to be the most likely scenario for most listeners of this podcast.
Daniel MinickAnd just know that I've been a critic of Trump quite a bit, especially years ago.
Daniel MinickI'm in no way an only Trump person.
Daniel MinickAnd just to let you know, while I didn't really mention it on Truthspresso, Trump was not my preferred candidate for the Republican nomination.
Daniel MinickBut for most people who listen to this podcast, they're probably feeling a sense of relief and feeling a sense of victory.
Daniel MinickThen at least.
Daniel MinickMaybe the country has dodged a bullet.
Daniel MinickMaybe not everything's going to be absolutely great or awesome, but that they things could have been definitely worse.
Daniel MinickAnd I know it is tempting to add insult to injury, but that is not our mandate.
Daniel MinickAs Christians, we need to see opportunity here.
Daniel MinickIf you think this election at least has the potential for speaking the truth, in love and furthering the gospel, then do that.
Daniel MinickListen to people who are grieving about the election.
Daniel MinickHear their griefs.
Daniel MinickHear their reasons.
Daniel MinickThey may be off base, but they believe things.
Daniel MinickSo challenge their beliefs.
Daniel MinickNot with insults or gloating, but with probing questions.
Daniel MinickGet them to think maybe some of these things you're thinking just aren't true.
Daniel MinickHave you considered this?
Daniel MinickAsk them questions.
Daniel MinickDon't just hurl statements.
Daniel MinickBe someone who asks them questions, because that shows that you're interested in what they have to say.
Daniel MinickThen ask a question that does, of course challenge them, but it gets them to think.
Daniel MinickAnd they're also saying things and you're also listening and you're not mocking them or making fun of them.
Daniel MinickSome of these people see the world as nothing but a big power struggle.
Daniel MinickYou know, anyone who was kind of reared on Marxist thought, that's how they think.
Daniel MinickIt's our fight for rights against the fascists trying to take them all away.
Daniel MinickIt's our power versus their power.
Daniel MinickWe Just have to make sure we're in power versus them.
Daniel MinickWe can't let them win.
Daniel MinickIf they win, it will be a handmaid's tale for the whole world, and maybe not just for women.
Daniel MinickThat's what they think, men versus women, whites versus minorities, all kinds of stuff like that.
Daniel MinickAnd they've been fed these lines since they were tykes, many of them.
Daniel MinickThey learned it in elementary school and high school and college, and they hear it constantly from the mainstream media that they trust as a source of news.
Daniel MinickThey hear it from their favorite celebrities and from their favorite representatives in Congress whom they see as their freedom fighters.
Daniel MinickIt's easy to make fun of the bad ideas, but try to show deep empathy from a Christian perspective for people who have only been getting a cheap form of empathy from people who don't really care for them personally.
Daniel MinickAlso, even if you favored the election results as Christians, Donald Trump isn't the model.
Daniel MinickOkay?
Daniel MinickBe the first to point out to those who are grieving that you recognize his flaws.
Daniel MinickBe the first even to point them out.
Daniel MinickGain some common ground there, because these people have kind of been boxed into this idea that they're all impersonal numbers and the cause is what matters.
Daniel MinickIt's for the greater cause.
Daniel MinickEverything is about the grand cause and not striving for personal virtue.
Daniel MinickAnd do not be the one who simply laughs at them to scorn and entrenches them further in their delusion.
Daniel MinickBe the one who breaks the mold in their lives and is more to them than petty politics.
Daniel MinickIf they see you as a listening ear and an inquiring mind, they may be more open to critical thinking and of course, open to the truth of the gospel.
Daniel MinickLet this election and what you think might come of it not just be healing politically as you might think, or healing financially for the nation or healing for people's bank accounts or wallets.
Daniel MinickLet it be an opportunity to speak the truth of the gospel.
Daniel MinickAnd when I talked to my co worker when I saw him after the election, I did not express any sign of gloating.
Daniel MinickI listened to his theory of the election results and I looked for common ground where I saw it.
Daniel MinickI asked questions with a demeanor of concern for him because I knew he was disappointed, as he said.
Daniel MinickAnd anything I suggested to challenge his ideas, I did so calmly and reasoned and empathetic.
Daniel MinickTrust me, that goes a long way toward a establishing trust over the kind of nasty garbage that I've seen on social media from both sides.
Daniel MinickAnd what does this election show?
Daniel MinickWhat does the meltdown Show As Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Daniel MinickThere's a lot of people who don't have the truth, and we need to bring them the truth in love.
Daniel MinickColossians 2:8 says, Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit.
Daniel MinickAfter the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Daniel MinickOur goal is Christ, and we recognize that there's philosophies of the world, traditions of men, rudiments of the world that have people captive.
Daniel MinickAnd we're trying to set them free.
Daniel MinickAnd you do not set them free by whipping them with something they are dreading and do not understand.
Daniel MinickFirst Corinthians 2:12 says, now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us, of God.
Daniel MinickWe recognize that there is a spirit of the world that we are battling, not with physical weapons and not even with nasty words.
Daniel MinickWe shouldn't do that as Christians.
Daniel MinickWe should offer the truth in love.
Daniel MinickAnd First Corinthians 1:21 says, for after that, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
Daniel MinickAnd there's a lot of perceived wisdom in the world, the people who don't like the election results.
Daniel MinickBut in the grand scheme of things, what they really are against is the truth of Christ.
Daniel MinickAnd in no way am I saying that Donald Trump embodies that.
Daniel MinickBut the reasons that they don't like the election results can be the same reasons that they don't like the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Daniel MinickAnd by the wisdom of the world.
Daniel MinickWe need to battle that.
Daniel MinickNot with a sharp tongue, not with a sword, not with a club to badger them, but it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching or the gospel itself to save them that believe.
Daniel MinickSo do we want these people as the conquered, under a whip?
Daniel MinickMay it never be Christian.
Daniel MinickWe need to speak the truth in love.
Daniel MinickWe need to be a listening ear and ultimately to direct conversations, show people the kind of empathy and sympathy that maybe they've never experienced before, kindness, even when it doesn't even seem anywhere near deserved.
Daniel MinickEven if they've been nasty to you, heap coals of fire on their head, as the Bible says, by rendering good for evil, and use the foolishness of preaching.
Daniel MinickIt's foolishness to them, but speak the truth in love and ultimately lead to the truth of the gospel.
Daniel MinickAnd maybe this election can be the start of revival for this country.
