Welcome back to another episode of health hack as I continue talking to you about the myriad of benefits of hydration, and today I want to share with you how hydration is benefiting your digestive health. So adequate water intake, aids in the digestion and absorption of the nutrients of the food that you're eating so that your body can break down the food into the nutrients and the nutrients can get to the cells so your body is effectively utilizing the vitamins and minerals from your food. And proper hydration also helps to prevent constipation and promotes a healthy digestive system over all, which is really important for your overall health. When you have a healthy gut, your overall health is improved because 70% of your immune system is housed in your gut. So my question for you is are you focusing on hydrating enough each and every single day? And what counts is hydration?
Unknown:Water herbal teas flavored waters like flavored with the juice of half a lemon or half a lime. Alcohol doesn't count coffee doesn't count it is not hydrating energy drinks do not count. They're helpful if you are in a race however, if you're drinking them every single day just to stay awake and get through the day. That is not proper hydration. So everything that you're drinking isn't counting as hydration. So go back and check Are you drinking enough water and ideally, I don't even like to recommend juice as hydration because juice has so many natural sugars in it without the fiber that it's spiking insulin and causing sugar imbalances I prefer people not to be drinking juice, eat the fruit instead and drink water and maybe flavor the water with spice squeezing some of the fruit juice into the water rather than drinking store bought fruit juice. So happy hydrating and enjoy the health benefits as a result.
