The National Weather Service keeps the east and Great Lakes in the deep freeze with lake effect snow warnings continuing east of lakes Erie and Ontario and cold weather freeze alerts extending down to the northern Gulf coast out West.

Washington's flood fight isn't over.

Fresh NWS flood warnings are back up for the Skagit and other rivers as another surge of Cascade rain pushes levels back above flood stage in California A magnitude 4.0 quake struck near Glen Ellyn in Sonoma County Sunday afternoon.

No serious damage reports, but aftershocks remain possible.

Elsewhere, dense fog is slowing the Los Angeles Basin commute and high wind warnings are up along Montana's Rocky Mountain front with dangerous crosswinds for high profile vehicles.

Alabama Hard Freeze Freeze warnings are in effect this morning across southeast Alabama with lows near the mid-20s and dangerous wind chills.

Conditions moderate later today, but another cold night is expected.

California a magnitude 4.0 quake hit near Glen Ellyn, Sonoma county at 3:30pm Sunday followed by several smaller aftershocks.

USGS lists it at 1.9 km depth.

Light shaking was reported with no major damage.

Separately, dense fog advisories this morning in the Los Angeles area are reducing visibilities to a quarter mile or less.

Patchy dense fog is also noted for parts of the Bay Area valleys.

Florida Freeze warnings are up this morning across parts of the Inland Panhandle and Big Bend with a high rip current risk and small craft advisories on northeast Gulf waters.

Georgia A freeze warning and cold weather advisory cover southwest and south central Georgia early today with hard freeze conditions in places and wind chills in the teens.

Montana High wind warnings are in effect along the Rocky Mountain front and adjacent corridors through Tuesday morning with gusts capable of creating dangerous crosswinds, especially for semis and light high profile vehicles on US 87 and MT 200.

Warnings and advisories run through today into Tuesday with locally heavy bands and whiteout conditions at times, especially Oswego, Jefferson, Lewis and northern Cayuga counties.
