The dates a little more kind of the meaty part of the show.

I think the first date we saw was Suzanne.

Suzanne and Frank.

Frank.

So tell me your impression of Frank.

Oh, Frank seemed sweet.

He really seemed sweet.

He seemed like he was way more excited about her than she was about him.

Right.

Yeah.

So Frank was, I think, a few years younger than her.

She was 62.

Right.

And he works as an attorney.

And so what we learned.

What did we learn about Suzanne on this date?

She's a big football fan.

Oh, yeah.

She's in her.

What was her team?

Georgia Bulldogs.

Go Dogs.

Yeah.

She's really.

I mean, even to the point where she's like, ooh, well, he don't like the Bulldogs, so that's out.

Or if it was somebody that was like a rival of the Bulldogs, she's like, oh, no.

Like.

And I guess maybe I'm just not into sports like that.

That seems odd to me that that would be, like, a deal breaker for somebody.

No, we live in Austin.

Yeah.

We know there are people who live, breathe, and die for the long.

Yeah.

Right.

And so we're familiar with the concept.

Right.

Neither of us subscribe to that concept.

Right, Right.

You know, so there's probably some ut people who are like, ooh, if you.

From what?

Ou.

Oh, you.

You owe you.

Ooh, I can't date you.

Right.

That would be.

It would be a thing.

That'd be the equivalent.

Yeah, yeah.

Or A and M.

So I thought it was kind of strange that that was kind of like one of her kind of deal breakers, or side eyes, I guess.

But the one thing that was funny about Suzanne is the dating coach gave her some advice.

She did.

Of what would be kind of a good opener, you know, to kind of get somebody to talk and to kind of, you know, connect with somebody.

Right.

So she said.

So she's totally head over heels for Matthew McConaughey.

So to the point to where, like, she first meets this guy.

She walks in, he's there, he's like, oh, my God, you look so beautiful.

He brought her flowers, and they're sitting down, and they do a little couple chit chats, and then he's getting ready to obviously tell her something about.

He was about to go off into something.

He was about to go off into something.

She goes, I'm gonna stop you.

Like, she was like, kanye, I'll let you finish.

I'll let you finish.

I'm gonna let you finish.

But.

And she was like, so I've been watching this, listening to this wonderful Matthew McConaughey podcast.

Like, she went into the whole spiel of what the dating coach told her to do, and it was almost kind of like, oh, well, let me go ahead and get this out of the way so I don't forget that I'm supposed to do this.

Yeah, it was her.

It's trying to spur conversation in, like, a fun, whimsical way is kind of how I took it.

That was what was so funny.

She didn't need to spur conversation because this dude was getting ready to, like.

Like, he was actually getting ready to say something about himself to start the conversation.

And she was like, I'm let you finish, but I got to tell you something.

And it was just like.

And then when she finished with what she was going to say, I was just like, really?

Is that what you're going to say?

Yeah.

And he was receptive.

But I get that she wanted to kind of like, you know, she want to be a good student.

You know, like, oh, let me check this out.

And I think the point was, so you have something to talk about that can push the conversation forward.

Yeah.

That was the dating coach's advice, and that's why she was bringing.

Telling her that if she needed something, it wasn't like, oh, you need to do this on your date.

And that's how.

I think that's how she took it.

Yeah.

And so she was like, oh.

Cause if you remember, at the end of the dates, like, they all.

They talk to the dating coaches.

And so the dating.

So she was really excited to tell the dating coach that she used that line, you know, that she opened with that.

Right.

So it was almost kind of like she's trying to be a good student, but at the same time, it's kind of like, okay, you didn't need to, like, interrupt what he was saying to say that.

Yes.

Anyway, I just thought that was kind of.

Let me follow us.

The playbook of what the dating coach told me kind of thing.

But she was very proud of herself.

She was very proud of herself after that.

She was very proud of herself.

Yeah.

She wanted to report back.

I follow your advice.

Oh, yeah.

She wanted to get a gold star for that.

She was so she was so proud of herself.

But.

And Frank seemed like a nice enough dude.

Yeah, he seemed nice.

He's sweet.

She was really put off by the fact that he wasn't into the Bulldogs.

Yeah.

That he didn't always seem to be a football fan.

Yeah.

I guess.

He mentioned that he played golf.

And when she's like, oh, you're a golfer.

He's like, I mean, I'm all right.

He even seemed to, like, kind of beg off.

Well.

Well, she pigeonholed it.

Well, yeah.

Because she said, I don't know nothing about golf.

Right.

She was like, I can't do golf.

Like, it was almost kind of like.

She made it sound like, that's a strike.

Right.

You play golf.

Like, you know, the way she said it.

And Also, he had two kids, but one of them was 16.

That was an issue for him, and.

That was a huge issue for her.

She was like.

She was to the point of like, I ain't trying to raise nobody's kids.

And it was like, okay, he's 16.

Kid's 16.

By the time this possibly gets serious.

He'S gonna be gone.

But that was a big, super red.

You could tell.

A super red flag for her.

Yeah.

Yeah.

For sure.

Suzanne's daughter, who's, I'm gonna guess, 30ish.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Comes into to see her on the date, and the daughter's take is, oh, the chemistry is just great, and they're just terrible.

And it kind of fizzled after that, apparently.

Yeah.

Because by the time they get to the end of the day, Frank is down for another day.

Oh, he wants another date.

Absolutely.

Yeah.

And Susanna's like.

Well, she.

When she said he.

When he asked her, she goes.

She goes, I'm not gonna tell you if I'm gonna go on a second date with you.

Like, she almost seemed offended, which is.

Yeah.

So that.

That's one of my main frustrations with Suzanne.

This whole thing about, oh, I'm not going to tell you if I want to go out with you.

And the Danny folks called her on that, I think, in episode two.

Yeah.

About how you want to maintain this, like, mysterious nature.

And O, I'm not going to tell you if I like you.

She's like, that's.

That's 40 years ago.

But also, like, at her age, she's playing out hard to get.

Right.

Like.

Ooh.

Like, I don't know.

Like, bitch.

Really?

Are we doing this at this age?

Are we playing hard to get at this age?

That's kind of what the dating coach was saying.

Like, that was, you know, and I'm glad.

Like, that kind of made me kind of look at the dating coach.

Like, okay, she.

She might be here for a reason.

Like, she might have a reason to be here kind of thing.

Because the dating coach was even like, you know, what is this?

Playing coin?

You know, like, ooh, I don't know.

Or ooh, you know, playing hard to get.

Like, she was like, we don't need to be doing that.

Yeah, she wants to be mysterious.

That's what I wrote.

Playing hard to get.

That, I guess used to be a thing.

I never subscribed to that.

Are you serious?

I wonder what Time is Thinking says, nobody said no.

Whatever.

No, I don't think I ever played, like, hard to get.

I think I just.

I never subscribed to that.

I just always felt like, you know, like, you need to let me know if you like me or not.

I remember hearing about, like, the three day rule, right?

If you go out, you call me right away.

Yeah, I always thought that.

I always thought that was dumb.

I was like, why?

Like, that's so silly.

I think I just subscribed to if you like me.

Like, let me know, because I'm not gonna know unless you let me know.

I was never mysterious.

Yeah, there's nothing mysterious about you.

There's not.

I don't think so.

There's so much mystery here.

That whole idea of don't call for three days.

Or as one of our other favorite shows would suggest, you know, as a younger man, me, if I call this woman, there's a possibility of sexual, which makes the whole proposition of calling her way more interesting.

Which is.

What is this point?

The point is that it's about being mysterious or not.

Oh, mysterious.

And so Sam Stan from Atypical took that mindset, so.

No, I think that was.

I mean, I think that's an honest version of how a lot of young dudes think.

Yeah, I mean, why am I going to wait?

Yeah.

If I respond to her sooner, maybe something good.

Laughing yeah, well, that should be the thing, right?

Might snooze, you lose.

If I like her, why not tell her?

Yeah.

Dating coach.

I think she even said, like, why are we playing games here?

Right.

I felt bad for him at the end of the date because he really seemed like he was into her.

He did seem like he was interned.

He was.

She seemed to have a different take.

And then before we move on to the next person, did you remember, like, she even, like, messengered her on Facebook.

Messenger.

He tracked her down and so the daughter was like, oh, my God, look how cute he messages.

She's like, ooh, how gross.

Like, she was almost, like, offended that he, like, reached out to her.

And I thought, wow, good for him for, like, making it known what he wants.

Yeah.

But she was almost, like, offended by it.

Like, how dare he reach out to me on messenger.

Yeah.

You know, like.

Anyway, I don't know.

I don't know what her thinking is again.

It might be old school thinking on her part.

Yeah, no, I thought that was kind of the best redirection we had from Logan, the dating coach, which was.

Yeah.

Why are you going to do that?

Yeah.

If you like me, tell me you like me.

Otherwise I'm not going to.

Yeah.

You want to go on a second date with me, you got to tell me.

I don't know that unless you tell me.

So reflect to our first date, that Sunday night.

Date 12, 16, 12.

In terms of.

I don't.

I mean, I think by the end of that night, I think we had at least communicated.

I would like to see you again.

Right.

And I think we both agree that was the best date ever.

I don't think either of us were trying to be mysterious or.

I mean, I think I had made it pretty clear that I thought you were very attractive.

Well, I mean, I think after that date, I think it was pretty obvious we were going to see each other again.

At some point, we let each other know that this was the best day.

This is going well.

Yeah.

It wasn't like we're trying to, like, guess or play cool.

Right.

So I think we.

What was so cool and.

And really amazing is that after that date, I think things just flowed pretty easily and naturally.

It wasn't like, okay, well, can I see you again?

Like, you know what I mean?

Like, we're just kind of like, okay, what are you doing tomorrow?

Right.

You want to come over?

I want to.

Like, it was almost kind of like we had already weaved each other in our lives at that point, because it was funny because I think we had even shared a few days later that before then we both been talking or dating another person.

Not necessarily that it was something serious, but we had gone on dates with these people and had seen them more than once.

And, you know, we were occasionally kicking with them.

And I think you had even said, like, you had opened up to me and said that you had been doing it, and you were like.

And I just told her that, like, I didn't want to see her anymore because I, you know, actually, like, interested in somebody else.

And you were like.

And that's.

You.

Like, you were like, in case you were wondering.

Right.

So then I shared with you that I had done the same thing, that it was somebody that I was just kind of, like, kicking away.

I would see every now and then and basically told him, like, yep, I found somebody.

And I think I really want to pursue that.

Like, I think that's going to go somewhere.

So I thought it was interesting that.

That that part of our lives had happened at the same time.

Like, we were both kind of like, okay, just let you know.

Okay, just let you know.

And it was like, okay, yeah.

Well, yeah.

And I think at that point now, we didn't know exactly what we had, but I think we recognized very quickly.

This is different.

Yeah.

This is something I don't remember seeing anytime recently.

Yeah, I think it definitely.

I think we both realized early on that this was a different connection than we've ever had with anybody ever.

I think you were pretty upfront with me, which made me feel a little bit, like, less guarded and beautiful, you know, forthcoming with you.

So I.

I think I really like that in that we didn't leave each other guessing how we felt, even to the point where, you know, after we've kind of been dating for a little while, like, you wrote me a text message one day, and you were like, okay.

You were like.

You're like, you gonna think this is silly, but I can really focus on what you're saying now.

Like, you.

You were.

You were like.

Before.

You see, you really, like, you're.

I was so distracted by how pretty you are.

You.

And I think you even put in something like, I really hope you never asked me anything.

Like, it's really important that, like, I need to respond with, like, a smart answer.

You're like, because I didn't hear fuck thing you said, like, the first, like, whatever months of us dating.

Like, and I thought that was so.

It was funny, but it was so sweet because I had never, like, had anybody, like, say that before.

And you were like, yeah, I hope you didn't ask me anything important, like, in those months, because you were like.

Because I heard nothing you say.

No, That's.

That.

That's 100% true.

That.

No, I mean, I just like, me even Looking at you now, like, you're just so pretty, and it's like, it's so distracting.

It's like a work of art.

It's so sweet.

No, and then.

And so this is the space I live in.

Imagine how hard this is.

So you have to.

You have to balance the whole thing of, like, oh, wow, look at.

She's so.

And then listen to what I'm saying.

And that's like.

She actually asked me to do something.

She asked me to do something that I would like to keep looking at this space.

So I need to try to remember what that thing was.

So.

No, it was entirely true.

And I wasn't trying to be endearing.

Yeah.

So, yeah, it's funny.

I just thought that was so cute.

I was like, oh, my God, that's so cute.

Yeah, no, it's.

Come on, fellas.

Any.

Any y'all with your beautiful wives.

You know what I'm saying?

And then it's.

It's a blessing.

I've never had anybody say that to me.

But again, going back to honesty, right?

Not trying to have your partner, like, guess and be all mysterious and, like, ooh, I can't let them know I'm into them.

Like, I'm glad that neither one of us had ever really subscribed to that.

Suzanne seems to live in that space, but her coach is kind of trying.

To break her out.

Trying to break her out of it, which is good.

Well, and I kind of felt bad for Frank.

I did.

I felt really bad for Frank.

And also, blanket statement.

Okay?

So it's one thing for these folks who are going to be on the show to have the guts to be on the show, of course.

But you got dudes just popping in for.

You gonna have a blind date on tv.

On tv.

That's ballsy.

That's very ballsy.

Or stupid or bally combination.

Yeah.

So no, again, props to Frank.

I thought Frank was cool.

I think Frank will end up meeting somebody.

Like, he just really seemed like he was a nice dude, and he seemed like.

What was interesting is all of Suzanne's, like, quirkiness and craziness didn't seem to faze him.

Just seem to faze him one bit.

And he was, like, fine with it.

Like, you never, ever had a reaction from him like, oh, my God, what?

Like, he was just.

Everything she said was either funny or he was like, oh, my God, that's so interesting.

I want to hear more.

Like, you know what the thing about Frank is that he was into her.

Like, she would actually.

I Think she would have a good life with Frank if she would just kind of let go of some of these crazy things in her head because he all about her.

He seemed low drama.

Yeah, he really did.

Right.

And he seems like he's such a calm person.

That's the type of person Suzanne needs.

Oh, yeah, She's a lot.

Oh, yeah.

And I'm not as speaking for the president of the allot committee.

You need somebody that's gonna like the.

Calmer version, who appreciates your version of a lot.

So you say you're a lot.

I don't feel like you're a lot.

She's a lot.

Yeah, Suzanne's a lot.

Anyway, Frank, I hope you find something.

So then we have another date.

And I think the next date we saw was Anise and George, which was.

We got certainly so far my favorite date.

That's the favorite.

Because why?

Because George was.

He was a fool.

He was a funnel.

George was a straight up fool.

Okay?

So first of all, let me paint the picture of the date for you.

Anise, my girl.

Oh, baby, she pulled out all the stop.

She had the little black dress on with the V cut, with the boobies out and the booty out.

And it was a miniskirt.

She didn't come to play.

She showed all her assets.

Okay, she wants in.

And she looked good too.

George was a nice looking black man.

So she walks in and clearly he was.

I'm sorry, he was a few years younger.

So she sits down, and then here's where everything just.

Well, and it goes off the rails pretty quick.

Everything was cool until he started talking.

He literally starts it off by, I guess she mentions that she's older than him.

And then he goes, how old are you?

And I think even you and I looked at each other, like, okay, we're a little abrasive.

But again, we're talking about older people, so we're thinking, okay, maybe in their mind, like, this is just normal.

Right.

And on the other hand, like, when you and I met on the dating app, I knew how old you are.

At least how old you represent.

Of course.

Dating app.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So.

So.

So I didn't have to ask because I knew we were about to send it.

Yeah.

But for him, obviously, they don't have.

Well, he.

She says her age, and then he goes, oh, wow, he beautiful.

And then he goes, black.

Don't cry.

Like, I get.

And that's fine.

I think he asked her, like, how many she.

She proceeds to say, like, how many kids she has.

And he said, well, he says, how many kids he has?

And he even says, one that I.

Know of that he says.

He says, I only have one that I know of, which is.

Which is a little out there when you really don't know somebody.

But I took that as a little cheeky.

Cheeky, of course.

Like, I didn't think, like, I.

I honestly wouldn't have been.

I wouldn't have been bothered.

That's why he.

But it's a little cheeky shirt.

And then she says, like, she has three.

Right.

And then he says.

He says, they all have the same daddy.

And literally, Rob and I were so shocked by that, we paused it and then we went, what did he say?

We turned to each other and we both said.

When he goes, I'm going to back that up.

So we back it up again because we're like, no, he didn't say that.

He didn't really say that.

No, he did.

No, he did.

We got that wrong.

So he literally.

All by saying that.

And clearly, you can see on her face, like, he didn't just ask me that, did he?

Okay, so that's.

That's a little concerning.

And so then she says something about taking offense to that question.

Like, really, you ask people that and then he comes back, well, you know, that's some people.

And you know, some people got three baby.

Three kids by three different daddies.

Yeah.

Oh, but they got a good excuse.

She says, excuse her.

Or explanation.

Yeah, yeah.

And so that's.

Because of course, you know, you get to know somebody, it sounds so judgmental.

We listen and we don't judge all the freaking time.

Okay, so then what was another thing that George said that was, like, controversial?

Well, so the one my favorite, George, when he tells.

So this woman who, again, she is very proud that she has her associates, her bachelor's, her Master's, and her Ph.D.

actually, as she would say, actually got my doctor.

Yep, that's right.

Right.

And so God bless.

And that is awesome.

And we agreed on that.

Yeah.

He proceeds to tell this woman who is super proud of how educated and how.

I think.

And I think I'm.

I think this is fair how far she has come up, because it doesn't sound like she started there.

To this position, this status, this doctor ism.

He tells her, I like my women with a little ghetto in them.

Yeah.

And then he proceeds to tell her how she is.

Ghetto.

That's right.

You need ghetto inside.

He tells her, yep.

You just need a blonde wig to like, bring that ghetto all fully out of you.

Michael's like, am I actually hearing this?

It's like, read the room, George.

You just need a blonde wig.

This room doesn't want a blonde wig or to be called ghetto.

So one of my all time favorites, georgism.

Georgism, we haven't touched on yet.

I know what you're gonna say, but go for it.

She asked him about him dating, right?

You know, he says, I fuck around in Atlanta.

He said, I mean, I date in Atlanta.

He lives in Chattanooga, so.

He lives in Chattanooga.

So he said.

He says, when she says, do you date very often?

He says, I fuck around in Atlanta.

And then he.

And it wasn't quick.

He was like, I date around in Atlanta.

Which was not an actual correction.

It was a joke.

Yeah, Right.

But for him to say that, like, to even Say, like, I fuck around in Atlanta.

So I looked it up, y'all.

Chattanooga is two hours from Atlanta.

I had no conception of that geography.

But, yeah.

So he lives two hours away.

So he comes into Atlanta just to.

Just to mess around.

I'm just like.

So he.

So he goes into Atlanta to have.

To basically have sex.

He asked her, oh, yeah, have you had any work done?

Yeah.

So I think that was after she revealed that she was older than him.

Right.

And then he goes, oh, well, you look great.

And he's black.

Don't crack.

And then there was a little pause, and then he says, you had any work done?

And again, we paused it, and we were like, did he just ask her if she had any work done?

I think y'all would actually enjoy watching these shows with us because we have a hell of a time.

We really do.

Actually, you know what George seems like?

He seems like that old, like, uncle, or that you.

That everybody used to have that if he started drinking, like, he just say anything, like, just like.

Didn't everybody have, like, some kind of uncle that was like that.

That was just like, mine was Bubba.

Uncle Bubba?

Uncle Bubba was like.

He literally was George, like, drunk.

And he would just tell you everything, whatever.

And you know what?

I digress.

But you know what I found out?

My great grandmother was Uncle Bubba.

And so she looks at him like.

Like, she says, look on her face like, maybe rose would be good.

And he goes, no, he goes, I'm looking out for you.

Basically, like saying, like, don't eat them.

You're gonna get fat.

That's how I took it.

Like, literally.

I'm just like, oh, my God, I could not believe he said that.

Oh, my God, I can't believe I forgot that.

And he goes, no.

And he said because she looked like, oh.

No, I definitely took it, like, was that show.

Where they're like, you can't eat, so we only have so much money.

And Melissa McCarthy is, like, ordering the ribs.

Like, no, I told you, no ribs, you less food.

And yeah, that's the same vibes I got.

Seriously.

Oh, my God, that's so funny.

Really open to the idea.

He said rolls, and he was like, no.

So our next date is Nate and Latricia.

Nate and Latricia.

Describe to our audience Latricia Latricia is a nice looking black woman.

Nice looking woman.

She's tall.

She has a very nice body.

She's very slim.

So he turned it around, which I like that.

But even with all of that said, you could tell.

So, you know, and one thing we didn't actually visit on from the first episode was that the dating coach had told Nate to be vulnerable, to say something vulnerable on his first date.

And what he turned that into because, like, when I think of like somebody you were to tell me say something vulnerable, I'm not even sure what that is.

Oh, yeah, because you were even asking me, you were like, what would you have said?

And I responded with, I think that would mean, like, I would say something like, you know what, I was so nervous for this date.

So it messed with me after having this awful relationship, you know, that ended very badly.

And so after that, I was like, I date somebody that's totally different.

And I'd never date anybody, first of all, I never dated anybody my age or I'd never dated anybody older than me.

And my daughter, she's 26 now.

And so I'm telling her this.

So we go to the restaurant, we sit, we, y'all, when I tell y'all, we go in, ask for the table, sit down with the menus and stuff.

And then he come in.

And so literally, I think my daughter thought I was exaggerating.

We're literally at the table.

And my daughter goes, oh, my God.

You really weren't lying.

He's not in here yet.

That's why I'm like, wait on him.

Like, literally, he would act so old getting out of the car.

So that was, like, one of the things for me that.

Where I was like, yeah, this ain't never going nowhere.

So Anise and Nate, they did not seem to click.

And she just seemed like she came in hard, and bless his heart, Robert, he kept asking her questions about her, and then she just kept going on off the rails.

And then at one point, they had been there a minute, and you.

Robert even said to the confessional camera, like, she didn't ask me one damn thing by myself.

Like, I've been asking her all kinds of questions.

He was like, she ain't asked me nothing.

And he even had to go so far as to say, you don't know anything about me.

Because you haven't asked me anything.

You don't know anything about me.

He's just like.

But.

So he was upfront about that.

And then she's like, huh?

She's like, huh, really?

And I don't think she went to talking about herself.

And again, ended it.

I wrote down in quotes, you know nothing about me.

The other thing about Pam is that she presented herself as being very negative.

So she was like, I'm pissed off at the world.

I hate everybody, every motherfucking body.

Like, she just, like.

She was almost.

She came in that was blazing.

All of the people we met.

That is the biggest deal breaker for me.

Coming in, like, being negative, and it get me down.

And look, life is complicated.

I don't expect somebody to be like, Let me tell you the 10 best things about my day.

But from what we saw, she was like, well, this sucks, and that sucks, and I don't like that.
