Hello, I'm Fergus Morgan. I'm a freelance arts journalist and critic based in Edinburgh, specializing in Theatre, and I've made a podcast. It's called A History Of Scottish Drama In Six Plays, and well, it's exactly that, over six episodes, it charts the evolution of Scottish drama from the 16th century to the present day, and it features interviews with playwrights, critics, academics, actors and more, including Joyce McMillan, Bill Paterson, Stephen Greenhorn and loads of others. You'll be able to find it wherever you usually find your podcasts. Episode One, which focuses on David Lyndsey's 16th century play, a satire of the three estates, will be released on Monday, October 28 subsequent episodes will be released weekly and focus on the plays Men Should Weep, The Cheviot, The Stag and The Black, Black Oil, Losing Venice, Passing Places and Black Watch.

The same evening that episode one is released, October 28th, there's going to be a launch at the Traverse Theatre, too, featuring a live panel discussion about the recent history and uncertain future of Scottish drama. You can come along to that for free. Just find it on the Traverse Theatre website and book a ticket, but it will also be released as a seventh and final episode of the podcast series later this year.
