Hey everybody. This is N J here, the host of the NJ podcast. And this is transformational Tuesday. This is part of the everyday series where we get you to say, like Jay Z, I'm not a businessman. I am a businessman. Let me have a, my business. Dang. And on today's episode, we're going to talk about the six human needs. The six human needs, since you are treating yourself as a business, the most important person is your customers, your customers, because your customers are the people you're providing a solution to their problem for the day. They are the people who are going to keep you in business, and they are the people who make you the money and good business strategist will tell you that you need to form. With the customer more than your own idea and more than your own product and even more than your own needs. And one of the best ways that we can understand the customer is to understand what they need. Once you understand what a person needs, you will understand how you're going to fulfill those needs and how your product or your service and your value proposition will cater to that need and make sure it's being met better than anybody else that is out there. Right. The six human needs is a great framework that we can use. And this was promulgated by Anthony Robinson. Well, he's the best business strategist in the United States, according to according to Forbes, I think, yeah, according to Forbes, but he's the goat in this. For now? No, I'm kidding. So according to turn it Robins that there are six basic human needs that drivers put together. They are the force behind the crazy things customers do. And the great things that people do, everyone has the same, uh, six basic human needs and how they are ranked and in which hierarchy can determine the direction of our lives. So the very first two very first needs of those that are called the needs of the personality. The first need is certainty. Certainty. This is a need to constantly feel in control and know what's next so that we can feel secure. This is the basic need for comfort, avoiding pain and stress and creating pleasure. The need for certainty. As a mechanism for survival, it's affects our risk tolerance for life and our careers investments and relationships. The higher the need for certainty, the less risk you will be willing to take or emotionally. The next need is variety, variety, or some people call it uncertainty. When you ask people, if they like surprises, they may say yes, but this is not true because people like the surprises they want. The surprises, people don't want are called problems and problems are what we need to grow in life. Without variety. We are about to get bored and remain static. The next human need is significance. Significance. Everyone has a need to feel important, special, unique, and needed. Some can get significance by earning billions of dollars. Having more degrees than a thermometer. Being a distinguished PhD students, building a massive social media presence or becoming the most eligible person in the world. Some can be destructive by having multiple piercings and tattoos all over themselves. Some get significance by having bigger problems than anybody. Spending a lot of money can make people feel significance. And so kids spending very little, there are people who brag about their bargains or who feel special as they heat their homes using just common you on sunlight, many wealthy people, gain significance by hiding them. Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart, and one of the wealthiest people in the world for a time drove around in an old pickup truck truck to show he did not need a rolls Royce that said he did have his own private fleet of jets on standby. Significance is also a monument. The man who booked Las Vegas to what is today understands that people are willing to pay for what they believe to be the best that makes them feel special, unique, important, and makes them stand out from the crowd. Steve Wynn provides the best, the most exclusive luxurious experiences, imaginable, axes, casinos, and hotels. The next need a human need is connection. And. Now love is oxygen of life. It's what we all want and need the most. When we love completely, we feel alive when we lose love, the pain is so great that most people in the world settle for connection. The residue of it. Why don't you get the most, the sense of connection of love through intimacy, friendship, prayer, or spending time in nature. If all else fails, get a dog. These are the four first four needs are those of the personality these needs I've talked about are the needs of the personality. Humans will find ways to meet their needs by working hard, coming up with a bigger problem and creating stories to rationalize. The last two are needs of the spirit. These needs are rare as not everyone meets these needs. When these needs are met, we will feel truly fulfilled. These needs of our spreads are growth growth. If you are not giving you are dying and dying slowly, if a relationship business and intellectual capacity is not growing, it does not matter how much money you have in the bank. The abundance of. Or the number of people who love you, you are not going to experience real fulfillment. The reason we grow is that we have something of value to you. Give fulfillment equals happiness, fulfillment equals happiness. What you get, what makes you happy? What you become will help you become happy. The last human need that is a need of the spirit is contribution. Contribution. The secret to living is giving life is not only about what you can get. It's about what you can give. The more you do, the more you can. Usually when someone receives good news, the first thing they do is share it with someone. They love sharing experiences of everything you experienced. Life is about creating meaning and meaning it does not come from what you get. It comes from what you give. Ultimately, it's not what you get that will make you happy in the long run, long run, but rather who you become and what you will contribute. Now, what can fulfill human needs? It. Money can't give certainty. It can provide variety through purchasing experiences. Money can make us feel important or significance, but what about connection and love the pizza, man? I can't buy you love it can give a false sense of connection because of the chaps relationships that may not always be the most fulfilling kind can money get you growth. Mannequin fuel the growth of businesses learning. The more money you have, the more you can contribute financially. At a personal level. If one values significance as a top priority, maneuver will always leave you empty. Unless it comes from a contribution you've made. If one looks for significance from money, then it can be a high price to pay. It will be a big number and it's unlikely that one will find complete fulfillment. The ultimate significance in life comes not from something external, but from something else. Significance comes from a sense of esteem for ourselves, which is not something we can ever get from someone else. People can tell you that you are beautiful, smart, intelligent, the best, or they can tell you that you are the most horrible human being on earth. What matters is what you think about yourself, whether or not you believe that you are going continuing to grow and push yourself to do and give more than was comfortable, or you even thought. The wealthiest person in the world appreciates below is a guideline and summary of basic human needs and their associated destructive and constructive behaviors. Uh, meat variety is new challenges, playfulness, embracing adventure, changing the meaning of an event, reframing it and finding different hobbies and finding ways to be creative. Having unconditional love and cultivating interdependent relationship. A destructive way for meeting the need of contribution is being a martyr unnecessarily giving without learning, to taking, take care of yourself and giving only to get a constructive way to meet the need of contribution is paying it forward.
