Unknown:

Hello, and

Unknown:

welcome to the Borealis experience. I'm your host

Unknown:

Aurora. And I'm very happy to be spending some time with you

Unknown:

today. Thank you so much for being here. It really means a

Unknown:

lot to me to connect with people through my podcast from all over

Unknown:

the world. And knowing that I can bring you peace and joy and

Unknown:

just relaxation. That is so so precious to me. Today I want to

Unknown:

talk about playfulness. Maybe you are very playful individual,

Unknown:

you're very out there trying new things not scared of failing, or

Unknown:

judgments of others. But maybe you're a little bit more like

Unknown:

me. A couple years back, I remember I met friends who kept

Unknown:

organizing game nights where we played card games or Cards

Unknown:

Against Humanity, or board games. And the cynical inside of

Unknown:

me was always like, no, that's not how I want to relate to

Unknown:

people, I want to go for a hike, I want to go do yoga, I want to

Unknown:

go to the bar, and dance and drink board game nights. That's

Unknown:

nothing for me. But they convinced me to come that one

Unknown:

night. And it was really fun. And it was really, really nice

Unknown:

to meet people on a different level. And to be in an

Unknown:

environment where it is okay to be a beginner again, and they

Unknown:

can teach you tricks. It can help you to become a better

Unknown:

player. It was a really cool experience. And then I moved to

Unknown:

a different city and there was disc golf. It was actually

Unknown:

golfing with frisbees. Actually, it's called frisbee golf. Sorry.

Unknown:

And that was again something new to me very cool game where you

Unknown:

just try yourself out and can be a kid again and I feel for

Unknown:

romantic relationships but also for you as an individual if you

Unknown:

are a single person right now. It is so so important to not

Unknown:

forget about the play, playfulness. And as soon as you

Unknown:

are more relaxed, when it comes to learning new things when it

Unknown:

comes to be a little more adventurous and out there you

Unknown:

will see on other levels, you'll be more confident and playful

Unknown:

too. And that is a huge plus when it comes to your workplace

Unknown:

when it comes to getting to know new people when it comes to

Unknown:

relationships, that you have that kind of relaxed, confident,

Unknown:

playful attitude. Because it makes you enjoy things so much

Unknown:

more. I don't know you well enough, maybe you are a person

Unknown:

who when you're invited to someone's place and they cook

Unknown:

for you. You have to know every ingredient that is in there and

Unknown:

not for dietary reasons but because you want to cook that

Unknown:

same meal again at home and you keep asking questions about what

Unknown:

is the recipe like what ingredients are in there? How

Unknown:

did you cook this? Instead of just sitting there and enjoying

Unknown:

the meal with your tastebuds. I feel we are way too often caught

Unknown:

in our mind and rational mode. And we have to come back to a

Unknown:

more sensual, playful way of living. It makes you enjoy life

Unknown:

way more. And it makes the other people around you and joy you

Unknown:

way more. So it is a win win on every level. All it needs is you

Unknown:

being okay, failing and starting something new, where you suck at

Unknown:

bye Everything that we try out is difficult for everybody. And

Unknown:

the more you try it out, the better you get. And maybe you

Unknown:

discover new talents, maybe you totally discover a new side and

Unknown:

you that you never knew existed and so do people around you. So

Unknown:

you will change internally if you go out there and are more

Unknown:

playful, and that will affect your environment. So you'll have

Unknown:

different outcomes, if that makes sense.

Unknown:

playfulness is also a very good teacher, because you can see and

Unknown:

get to know people in different ways. Maybe they are very

Unknown:

competitive, maybe they're very caring about others and want you

Unknown:

to succeed. Maybe you are very competitive. Or maybe you care

Unknown:

about new people joining the group and helping them out how

Unknown:

to practice that new game or new sport. So on a social level, it

Unknown:

is also so important because it is not only children and puppies

Unknown:

that play it is also adults. And when you know how to play when

Unknown:

you know how to play fair, when you know how to reach your goal

Unknown:

as a team is so enriching, it is incredibly enriching. So the

Unknown:

message I'm sending out today is have a look at your life and see

Unknown:

where you could try out new things. Is it music? Is it

Unknown:

singing? Is it painting? Is it writing poems? Is it learning

Unknown:

how to ride a bicycle or swimming or motorcycle? Try to

Unknown:

do something that is outside of your box and be okay with

Unknown:

failing at first and know that there's always someone out there

Unknown:

who will support you and cheer for you and help you out. And if

Unknown:

there's not, then there's always me. You can connect with me on

Unknown:

Instagram On Facebook. Aurora Eggert does my name. And yeah,

Unknown:

we can chat about it. If you have any requests for future

Unknown:

episodes, also, don't be shy. And yeah, for this weekend or

Unknown:

whenever you listen to that episode. If you have children,

Unknown:

go play with them go raffles with them. If you have friends,

Unknown:

then I don't know be the person who encourages a new activity.

Unknown:

And if you have a partner, go get a card game a board game at

Unknown:

the grocery store. Or try out a new hobby and see how it's

Unknown:

awesome to get to know your partner on a new level. Thank

Unknown:

you so much for listening to the Borealis experience. I'm your

Unknown:

host Aurora and I'll be out there tomorrow again. Take care
