Melissa Deally:

Welcome back to another episode of health hacks. As I continue sharing quotes to live by this month and or live by forever, I'm sharing the quotes this month and today's quote is that in every day, there are 1440 minutes. That means we have 1440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact, and that's by Les Brown. And I love that, because we really can improve our own lives by making an impact on others. What we give comes back to us. It's the universal law of giving and receiving. And when we make an impact, it allows us to feel feel fulfilled, to feel proud of that impact that we're making, and it raises our frequency. It has us feeling happier in ourselves. And so my question to you is is, how are you going to spend those 14 140 minutes? So often we waste time scrolling, and that isn't making an impact. Maybe we spend hours upon hours watching television or playing games again, we're not making an impact. And yes, it's fine to have your downtime. However, can you put aside a couple of minutes every single day to create positive impact in whatever that is for you, and no matter how small, just beautiful, positive intentions on an ongoing basis can lead to big shifts in your own life and the life of others, starting with mindful moments for yourself, taking that time for yourself, to spend it in gratitude, because again, we get what we focus on. So if we spend time in gratitude, we will get more of what we're grateful for. And when we make an impact, tiny acts of kindness, encouragement, even self care, that has a ripple effect, because it changes how you show up in the world. And maybe you just smile at someone today, and that lifted their spirits, and that had them smile at someone else. And you'll never know the ripple effect, however, know that it is happening and that's powerful, and live with the intention of creating impact each and every day and leave the world a better place than how you found it. And if you don't know how to make an impact, I have a beautiful nonprofit called Girls Matter, where we make an impact by breaking the poverty cycle one girl, one family, one village at a time, and we literally do that by helping girls stay in school so they're not being married off as teenagers and having children way too young and repeating the poverty cycle of their mother. They're actually having a chance at a better life, because they're educated and they are empowered, and I can't do this alone. And yet, if we all came together and chose to have an impact for a very small amount of money, $10 will supply a girl with enough menstrual supplies to last her year so she doesn't miss a week of school every single month. So how can you have an impact? You can go to our website, Girls matter.ca, and donate. Watch for more campaigns that we're going to be doing as fundraisers. Share this with friends that you think will align with that. These are all ways that you can have an impact in a very short amount of time, and know in your heart that you are making a difference, because you have 14 140 opportunities each and every day to do so. So how are you going to make a difference? Starting today, you.
