Michelle Hartzman:

Welcome back. I'm so ready to dive into today's episode. Oh, I just know this is what you need as we head into the end of the year end of 2021 heading into 2022, that new, fresh energy, and really gaining clarity on what we are actually striving for, in our businesses for ourselves, for our lives and then how to make it happen. And we're going to talk about some things that no one is talking about that I know you need to hear because you guys know on this podcast, it's the realest of the real heart to heart conversations. And I've seen some common themes coming up lately. With even some of my clients, clients, clients, and I like, I want to, I want to have a conversation around it because I want to help you move through the stuff that's actually holding you back. So we're going to dive right into today. I will tell you, I highly recommend getting a journal, piece of paper, computer, somewhere you can take notes, maybe even the notes section of your phone somewhere you can take notes today for listening to me. In your car as you're driving, obviously, please be safe. Eyes and hands on the road and come back and listen to this and something. You'll want to do it this episode while this is so relevant to the end of the year and 2022, this is probably something that you're going to want to do every couple of months. It's something that I do and something I have my clients do. And I just want to pour into you so that you can yield and create the most momentum results, money magic excetera inside of your business. So what I want you to ask yourself at the beginning of today's episode, Is what do you really want? And what are you really striving for when it comes to your business? We're in a big reflection mode right now. We're looking back at the year, we're looking at the things we've done, the things we didn't do. The things we were too terrified to do the things we half-assed, the things we wished we would have finished the launches we gave up. We are looking back and I don't believe that anything is failure. I've recently heard this. And I think that this is so good. And I want to pour this into you that anything that we do, that we quote unquote, feel as a failure. It's not actually failure. It's feedback, it's feedback. So when we are reflecting and we're looking at this past year, everything was feedback you can look at. Oh, this went really well. This was really good. I'm going to duplicate this. Yes, yes, yes. Oh, this wasn't so good. I didn't really give my all, I didn't really show up except tra vest feedback. Right? So as we're doing this, I want you to start forward thinking, cause you guys know I'm a planner. I like to know what's coming next in business. I'm a big believer that when we know what's in front of us, we actually achieve our goals. When we have a plan when we're ready for it, when we know what we're doing. We're going to yield a greater outcome. Okay. So these two questions, what do you really want and what are you striving for? And the reason I'm asking you, this is because clarity on what you actually want in business is so important. And the problem with this is sometimes we don't actually know what we want. And it's okay to admit that. But I think no, one's talking about. No, one's talking about that. And I want to give you permission in this moment if you're not sure that's okay. But what I don't want you to do is to just create goals based off of what you think you should want or where you think you should be or what you think you should want net. And that's something that's so important when it comes to you, your business and your growth. And I know, like I know it's wild out there in the streets and Instagram talk and Facebook, we get inundated with messages and it has to be like this, or you must do it like this, or if you're not doing it like this, et cetera, you guys know, I know, you know what I mean? You're probably nodding your head and you're like, yes, It's crazy out here sometimes. Let's be real about it. You can spend 10 minutes on Instagram and feel really flipping good based on the content that you saw, or you can feel completely like shit. Let's be real about it. Okay. And this is where, like, I can't emphasize this enough. You guys know, I talk about this a lot, especially in my content, like blinders on, mute button, unfollow. You literally don't need to know what anyone else is doing. In their business. Literally the only people that I follow and watch are my own mentors and my clients, that's it that's literally it. I don't need to know what anyone else is doing blinders on, but something that I've seen come up a lot based off of this based off of looking at where we want to go and what we actually want and gaining clarity in that it can also be really easy to come up, especially this time of year. As I'm recording this, it's the end of November. We're on the cusp of December. The last month of the year. We can put a lot of pressure on ourselves this time of year. And what can happen is shame, shame around money, shame around things you didn't do, shame around where you thought you might be shame around how much you think you should have made compared to last year or compared to how much other people that you follow have been. Where you think you should be, the things you wished you should have done. And now it's like we scramble and we create so much shame around it. I was like, ah, I like had the same amount of money I made this year compared to last year, maybe the same amount or I made less, or I only made a little bit more, or I thought this was going to be my six figure multiple six figure year. And it should be, but it's not. And I don't want to talk about my money online. I don't even want to celebrate anything. Shit. This is really important for us to talk about. And I want to give you guys a little bit of a story here that kind of prompted me even having a conversation around this. One of my business clients recently said to me, she's a business client who works with other coaches, entrepreneurs, service providers, et cetera. She recently said to me, Michelle, you know, one of my clients, so one of her clients compares herself to. And she said, you know, she always looks at how, like, you hit your first six figures in your first year and like she's on your, to, in her business. And she hasn't even come close to that in her second year. And like immediately my first, like the words that blurted out of my mouth was like, oh my gosh, she should just not watch my content. And two things that I want to talk about with that is one, if you are feeling shame around, I should be here because this person was here. Like we've got to drop that immediately, because what we don't do is we don't take into consideration the full story of how that business of that other person either started or what they're doing in their business to have that growth, the steps that they took, the things that they did, the people that they hired, how they show up, et cetera. There are so many factors that come into play. But it's really easy to look online and say, oh, this person, and I, I kind of put us in the same category and now she's making more than me. And I feel shame around that this can be head V this is heavy shit. And I know I felt this before, and I, chances are you have to, I don't want to speak for you, but chances are, you've probably felt this in some way, shape or form. And this conversation is so important to have, because shame around. Comparing around money is only holding you back, comparing where you're on business versus where someone else's at is not helping you get to where you want to go. And literally how much money someone else is making has nothing to do with you literally has nothing to do with you and your income and your growth, but we somehow make it mean something about us or that we're less than, or we're not good enough at. And excuse my language, but it's royally fucked. Do you see how mean we can be to ourselves on our way to our goals? And this is where having this conversation is so important because I want you to be mindful of this. I want you to be mindful of the things that are G railing you from where you actually want to go. And something I want to pour into you that a mentor had said to me a while back of, like, let's say, for example, your goal is six figures or your goal is a 50 K month. When you see someone post that online, they're celebrating that, that happened for them instead of going into. They have something I don't, they're more far along than me. I suck. They beat me to it, or I should be there shame whatever's coming up in that moment. It's literally the universe. God, like that's a sign that like that's coming for you. So anytime you see something that someone did that you desire to have and, or want and, or are striving for, that's just your sign that is coming. So your site is on its way to you, and that's really important. And I want you to start that reframe around it. If you're feeling any of this kind of shame, not enough, this comparing that we're talking about. And as we've talked about with us coming up to the end of the year, what we can do is we push, push, push, and that's all well and good. But what I want you to check is your why behind. Your why behind pushing and pushing and pushing right now at the end of the year, you guys know I put content out on this and I'll speak about it on here. Like I'm going to be selling to the end of the year because I like, I believe I can always make my hand. I literally have so many amazing things coming up in the business that I love selling and launching at the end of the year. And I believe like, especially with the holidays, like it just gets to be. I get to go live my life and travel and be with family and book staycations and all this stuff and vacations and still make money. But my why behind that is because there's offers that start in the beginning of the year, because I know the women in my world, the women that want to work with me are ready to go, come January. So I'm going to be selling a December. That's my why, but I'm not pushing, pushing, pushing, and driving myself crazy. But what I want to pour into you is this pushing, pushing, pushing right now at the end of the year, if you have real genuine goals that are yours, no one else's that they're yours and they're not coming from this place of shame. I should make more. I should do this. I should do this. I should do this. I should do this. I should do this. I'm have enough all that. If it's not coming from that place. And it's coming from genuine goals that are yours, you're like, I'm so excited. It's the holidays. Ease, flow, family, time and money. And you're not just trying to keep up with status quo, keep going, literally keeps selling, keeps showing up, et cetera, do your thing. But I do want to check your intent. I want you, Ooh words. I want you to check your intentions behind it. Y Y around everything that you're doing and if it feels so good and it's like, I'm so excited making more money selling to the end of the year. Yes. All the vibes. Do it, but if it's coming from this place of shame, it's the end of the year I got to catch up. I got to catch up on my gosh, because like reality is let's like play devil's advocate for a moment. Okay. Let's say months. Say your goal's 200 K this year. Okay. Maybe you're around one 70 right now. Okay. And let's say by December 31st midnight, you hit 199. Thousand dollars. You're a dollar short of $200,000. And then he reached $200,000 on January 1st. You really actually going to care? No, no, no. Stop shaming yourself and making like these, this pressure, this pressure to like kill yourself every single month. Like, and that's like, what's normalized. It's like there will be 60 K months in business and then there'll be like a 30 K a month. And then a 60 K I'm like, yes, I believe in consistency. I believe in growth and stacking and recurring revenue. All of it. I am so big on helping my clients create that. And even in my own business, however, like let's acknowledge that some months pick up for one another. So like release that pressure release. Now again, if you've got those big goals and you're so excited about them and it's not coming from a place of shame right now, this time of year push and show up for them. Yes, girl, go do it, but make sure that they're yours and they're not coming from that place of, I should be and comparison. Right. And so what I want to give to you today, Is a really great way, a simple way. Great, easy, simple way to get clear on what you capital Y O you actually want in your business. It's so important to look at this in business, and this gets overlooked because we're so driven. And then we're like, okay, I've reached the goal onto the next thing onto the next thing on the next thing. There's got to be clear. And business is ever evolving. You are ever evolving. So maybe how you ran your business and hit your goals this past year. You want to change and shake that up next year. You get clear on this. If you last year, this past year hit all of your goals, but you're burnt out a F we got to change that. We got to change that. So it's really important to look at the business, how you're doing things and how do you actually want it to look? How do you want it to feel? And what do you actually desire as far as goals, income, next steps, momentum, et cetera. And as we head into 2022, I really challenge you to do this throughout December. Like take this episode implemented, come back, look at the times. Right now and come back to this part of the episode and get your journal out your notes section of your phone somewhere. You can physically write this down and let's get clear. I challenge you to keep this commitment to yourself. As you're listening, do this. It will change so much for you as we're heading into the next year. And literally your 2022 can look completely different than 2021. If you want it to you decide you have the power here. Nobody. So I want you to ask yourself these couple of questions. Okay. Number one, if you could literally snap your fingers, you probably can't hear me snapping, but I just have to, if you could snap your fingers and have the business that you've always dreamed of, like in this moment, all right. I'm deciding I get to have the business. I always dreamed up when I wake up tomorrow, what would it look like? And what would it feel like? What would it look like and what would it feel? Number two, what's my actual mission. What's the mission for my business. I'm not talking to mission statement, but what's your mission for your business and what's your business really about, I'm not talking about what you do. I'm not saying like in a health coach, I'm a business coach. What's your business really about what's the impact. What's the mission. And what do I actually want to give from the work that I. Number three. What's my income goal. Clarity here is huge debt. And what would this amount of money do for you? What would it do for you? Here's the thing, money loves a purpose, loves a home and loves to have somewhere to go. So make sure that your income goal is yours and no one else's not what you think it should be based on what you've done before and or what's happening in the industry or what somebody else has. Not coming from a place. If I should make this amount, I'll be enough when I make this amount. Like, how do you actually want to make that would like make you so flipping happy and like screaming from the rooftops and give that plate, that money somewhere for it to go. Like when you make that amount of money, what are you going to do with that money? Get clear on that. Number four, what's your ultimate goal with your business? Think. And here's something I want to get out a little disclaimer here. You don't need to have this like completely figured out because let's be real. None of us really do. We're continually evolving the industry's evolving our passions and purpose. And the third words, words are hard. The certifications, the things that we do. Over the years of being in business, we change. Right. And it's ever evolving. But what I want you to do with this question is I want you to think bigger because you will reach all of your goals. At some point, you will literally reach all of your goals. And it's important to think beyond all the things that you want in this moment. What do you want be beyond the big bank account, the cars, the house, the coaches. What do you want beyond that? And I want to give you guys an example, as I was even like taking little notes for today's episode, something that came up for me and like, I've been saying it to con like, I'm like speaking this out loud into existence saying this, owning this, I'm saying it to you or making it real. Right. Something that's recently come up for me because I've achieved everything I thought that I ever wanted in business. And when that happens, you're like so grateful and you're like, heck yeah, I'm a. And then it's kind of like old now, what, and this again is your money's got, has to have a place to go. And like, we have to think of bigger picture than just the wants and desires right now. So something for me, I want to be like, fuck you kind of rich, meaning like the kind of money you don't know what to do with kind of rich. And like my mind, I'll be honest. Like I know I'll be a multimillionaire, however, My mind never really thought that way up until this year. I never really allowed myself to think that big. And this is beyond any of like my current moment and immediate goals, my next launch goals, year goal, et cetera, to beyond that. But that's like future stuff of the business that I know I'm headed for because here's the thing. Everything that I do now is helping me get to fuck you kind of rip. So, this is where I want you to play big here. I want you to imagine here. I want you to think beyond the things you want right now, beyond the sold out launch, beyond the yearly income, what do you want your life to look and feel like? And then number five, if I knew I couldn't fuck it up, what would I do? If you knew all the work that you. Do everything that you do and the way in which you show up, if I couldn't fuck it up, what would you do? How would I show up? Who would I be? What would I claim? What would I desire? And as we step into the new year, a new season and business is ever evolving. I challenge you to do this. I challenge you to do this now, specially the end of the year, momentum for January. Start the year strong and me you're strong clarity being in tune with what you actually want and then take this and do this. Anytime you're feeling kind of, Ugh, any kind of lack of clarity, lack of direction. I recommend pulling this exercise back up. This is the stuff that makes the forward facing stuff. The launching the selling the shelter. Country, this backend stuff is what's the, what makes the forward facing stuff actually come true. This is so good with this.
