Welcome to Love Notes, Rhonda.
Speaker AAnd today I want to ask you, frankly, what is the one thing you must get done this year or you are going to kick yourself in the butt?
Speaker ASo we have how many days left of the year?
Speaker A25.
Speaker A26.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AWe don't have that many left.
Speaker ASo I am a date person.
Speaker AYou may not be, but I'm a date person.
Speaker AAnd I cannot tell you how many things I've surrendered and let go in the last three months of the year, specifically in the last weeks of the year.
Speaker ASo right now, I'm on high alert to all the things that no longer serve me.
Speaker AI'm on a high alert to all the tolerances in my life.
Speaker AI'm on high alert to the things that just don't work for me, whether it's a drawer, whether it's a piece of clothing.
Speaker AI threw a dress away today, by the way.
Speaker AI had it on yesterday and I looked at it when I was wearing it.
Speaker AI'm going like, this does not work.
Speaker AAnd it's like, okay, well, is it something to give away or something to throw away?
Speaker ARight.
Speaker ASomething to give away?
Speaker ASomething to throw away.
Speaker AWhich one?
Speaker ARight?
Speaker AAnd I just decided, no, it had this tear and this thing, and there's little things here and there.
Speaker AAnd I'm like, nope, I'm gonna throw it away.
Speaker ASo when I took it off last night, I threw it away because I am not gonna put it back in my closet.
Speaker ASo there are things in my life that I am not gonna tolerate anymore.
Speaker AWhen I looked at my office recently, I was like, you know what?
Speaker AI love the way my office looks.
Speaker AI think it's great and awesome.
Speaker AUntil now, right?
Speaker AI had all these beautiful things up that people had made me and poems they'd written for me and all these beautiful things.
Speaker AAnd it just made me feel so good.
Speaker AAnd I had all my crosses up.
Speaker ACause I click crosses.
Speaker AI just had all these things up that I just really cherish.
Speaker AAnd then I went into my office a few weeks ago and I went, you know what?
Speaker AThis is too much for me.
Speaker AI can't.
Speaker AIt is not supporting me to write.
Speaker AIt is not supporting me to have a blank slate around me in order to write all these things that I love.
Speaker AI love gonna take em down.
Speaker ASo I took down every cross.
Speaker AI took down every poem, which is like, if you know me, that's like a.
Speaker AWhat?
Speaker AWhat do you mean you took down the poems?
Speaker ADon't worry, I've got an idea for them.
Speaker ABut I took down some things that people had given Me, that again.
Speaker AI love these things.
Speaker AI'm not getting rid of them.
Speaker AI want to put them up somewhere.
Speaker ABut right now, I got to have a clean, clean walls in my office so that I can think more clearly.
Speaker ASo I took every single thing down, except one thing that is more natural, more muted.
Speaker AAnd I painted every wall.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker AI got my paintbrush out and I crossed my fingers that my can of paint that I had, you know, from a year ago was.
Speaker AWould still work, and hallelujah, it did.
Speaker AAnd I filled up all the nail holes, right?
Speaker AAll the nail holes.
Speaker AAnd I sanded and did the whole thing.
Speaker AAnd now when I go in my office, there are only two things on the wall.
Speaker AOne, this piece of cloth, ruggish thing.
Speaker AI don't remember what they're called, you know, rug art.
Speaker AAnd then a piece of wood with a mirror on the back.
Speaker AAnd the office is just.
Speaker AAll my walls are empty except that, right?
Speaker AAnd I just.
Speaker AI'm like, oh, I can breathe.
Speaker AI can breathe now.
Speaker ARemember, I loved my office.
Speaker AI loved those things.
Speaker AI've had them up for, gosh, 10, 15 years and gave me such pleasure.
Speaker ABut where I am at this moment in my life is no clutter.
Speaker AI went through my clutter cupboards.
Speaker AI went through my drawer.
Speaker AI did so many things.
Speaker ASo those are the things in my home that I've been doing.
Speaker ABut what about in my heart?
Speaker AOr what about in my mind?
Speaker AOr what about projects?
Speaker AWhat about things I want to do, tasks I want to complete, dreams I want to make happen?
Speaker AWell, I've been taking a piece of paper and being ruthless.
Speaker ALike, okay, I've only got three and a half weeks left of this year.
Speaker AWhat is reasonable?
Speaker AWhat is actionable?
Speaker AWhat can I get my team on board for?
Speaker AWhat can the team do together?
Speaker AWhat is mine to do alone?
Speaker AWhat is realistic?
Speaker AAnd what also not only just realistic, but pushes me a little bit and wait a minute.
Speaker AWhat do I want to do around the holidays?
Speaker ADo I want to take some days off?
Speaker AI usually have many days off during the holidays blocked off.
Speaker AAnd sometimes I do big projects during that time.
Speaker ASo I'm asking you to really think.
Speaker AAnd I know I've been saying this a little bit over the last few months, right?
Speaker AI've been kind of knocking on this door for a while, but I really want us to get on top of.
Speaker AOkay, we have three and a half weeks left, gang.
Speaker AWhat are you gonna do?
Speaker AWhat aren't you gonna do?
Speaker AWhat are you gonna take off your plate and say, I'm not doing, not doing it.
Speaker AIt's going to next year.
Speaker AAnd what is it that's got to get done this year or you are going to kick yourself?
Speaker AYou are going to be.
Speaker AUgh.
Speaker AYou're gonna kick yourself.
Speaker AWell, I don't want you to kick yourself.
Speaker AI want you to be realistic, yet ambitious, yet gentle.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker AThere's that combination of how do you be gentle but yet honor your ambition and your purpose and your passion and be realistic about your time and ask for support.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker AAll these things.
Speaker ASee, we need all these skills.
Speaker AWe need to be able to ask for help.
Speaker AWe need to be able to say no.
Speaker AWe need to be able to say yes.
Speaker AWe need to push ourselves and we need to relax.
Speaker AWe need to be able to do all.
Speaker ABecause all those things we need moment by moment in our lives.
Speaker ASo the question is, what if you do not get done the next three and a half weeks, are you going to kick yourself for.
Speaker AWell, write it down.
Speaker ACreate a plan and do it.
Speaker ADo it.
Speaker AIf that means cutting out a dream, if that means cutting out a person, if that means cleaning out your closet, if that means making action on a dream that you put aside over and over again, whatever it is, it's time.
Speaker AIt's your time.
Speaker ASo let's do this.
Speaker AUntil next time, be fearless.
Speaker AI love you.
