Speaker A

Welcome to the Elevated Edit, the weekly reset for ambitious women who are done with chaos and ready to actually follow through.

Speaker A

I'm your host, Blakely Ramsey, strategist, systems girl and execution coach for entrepreneurs who want structure that sells in a business that feels like peace.

Speaker A

Here, we don't chase hustle, we edit what matters.

Speaker A

Let's get into it.

Speaker A

If your business is chaotic, inconsistent, or just not where you want it to be, it might not be your offer.

Speaker A

It might not even be your platform or your content.

Speaker A

It might actually be you.

Speaker A

Your business is a mirror.

Speaker A

And whatever is unhealed, unclear or unregulated in you will eventually show up in your business and your systems.

Speaker A

Now look, we are taught that if we just have the right strategy, the right mentor and the right content calendar going to win, right?

Speaker A

At least that's what I was taught.

Speaker A

But what I'm learning and what no one really tells you is that what really drives the needle is actually the state of the person who is executing the strategy.

Speaker A

So you can buy all of the courses, you can pay for all of the templates, but if it's still not clicking, it might be because your foundation is shaky.

Speaker A

Here is the truth.

Speaker A

You cannot out strategize poor self leadership.

Speaker A

You can only build what you believe you are safe to hold.

Speaker A

I have definitely learned this the hard way.

Speaker A

I knew vaguely that building a business was going to be more about personal development than business development.

Speaker A

But I did not know how eye opening it was going to be for me.

Speaker A

I didn't realize how many things I needed to heal in myself, how many things I needed to regulate, how much I was going to have to overcome as far as my mindset in order to actually grow a business.

Speaker A

You know, I knew the strategy, I knew the systems I can organize, I can execute.

Speaker A

But actually scaling a business in a way that feels good really does require you to have massive amounts of self leadership.

Speaker A

That has nothing to do with strategy and nothing to do with actual like business growth in terms of what they teach in school.

Speaker A

And so I have put together five ways that your business mirrors you.

Speaker A

So you can maybe ask yourself, hmm, is it in fact not my business that's struggling, but maybe it's me?

Speaker A

So let's break this down.

Speaker A

Number one, your clarity gaps might actually be identity gaps.

Speaker A

So if you're unclear on your offer, you might actually be unclear on who you want to be known as.

Speaker A

This is definitely something that I struggled with for sure this year I was actually talking to a business friend and it's so funny, the progression of my business this year.

Speaker A

You know, I started off as a clarity coach, which we both laughed at today because I'm like, what is that?

Speaker A

What does that even mean?

Speaker A

And then I went to a systems coach, and we're getting a little more clear.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker A

We're kind of narrowing things down a little bit.

Speaker A

And then I went to an execution strategist, which.

Speaker A

Okay, we're getting even more clear.

Speaker A

So we're going from systems, like, actually executing.

Speaker A

And one of my mentors, she.

Speaker A

I've talked about this on podcasts, that she gave me a very loving but brutally honest moment where she basically made me tell my life story, and she made me talk about, you know, the last year of my life and what I've been doing.

Speaker A

And she said, blakely, it really sounds like you are a business strategist.

Speaker A

And I was like, no, girl, that's not what it is that I'm doing.

Speaker A

And other people on the call were like, that's exactly what you're doing.

Speaker A

Like, that's exactly what you've been helping women with for free.

Speaker A

And when they said that, I was like, whoa.

Speaker A

I've honestly never thought about it that way.

Speaker A

But once I locked in on that identity and I became extremely clear on who I wanted to be known as, it was like everything clicked.

Speaker A

My messaging now feels clear.

Speaker A

My offers now feel clear.

Speaker A

I have reworked the podcast.

Speaker A

I Y' all these episodes that are coming up are so good, and the.

Speaker A

The conversations that I'm having on Instagram and on LinkedIn and with my clients, they are so aligned.

Speaker A

And it really, honestly took me becoming clear on who I wanted to be known as for me to learn what that clarity gap was in my business.

Speaker A

The irony of the fact that I wanted to be a clarity coach and I didn't have clarity is not lost on me.

Speaker A

Trust me.

Speaker A

So if you're in a season where you're like, okay, I know that I have an offer deep down in there somewhere.

Speaker A

I just don't know how to pull it out, do what my coach made me do, set down and journal and go, okay, what have I been talking to people about the last year?

Speaker A

What do people come to me for?

Speaker A

What am I already known for?

Speaker A

What kind of content do I love to listen to?

Speaker A

Do I love to read?

Speaker A

What just really lights me up and fires me up.

Speaker A

And it's so funny, because I just assumed, and I think a lot of us assume this, that the things that we are so obsessed with and that we're so passionate about, we assume everyone is passionate about that same thing.

Speaker A

And so my coach was like, you know, Blakely, what are the last couple books that you have read and just really enjoyed?

Speaker A

And so I told them the books and, like, everybody's eyes glazed over because it was like business strategy and business systems and, you know, all of the books that I could just read for days and days and days and never get tired of.

Speaker A

A lot of the women in the group who are entrepreneurs, they're like, yeah, we would never read that book, but we would pay for someone to take the strategies and the information in that book and regurgitate it to us in a way that is tangible and is a way that is sustainable.

Speaker A

I'm like, oh, wait, I can do that.

Speaker A

And they're like, boom, there's your offer.

Speaker A

So I encourage you, if you are in a season where you're unclear or if you know that you're meant for more and you've got an offer in there somewhere to sit down and journal through that, go to ChatGPT and say, hey, ChatGPT, I know that I have an offer somewhere in here in my brain and my gut, like, something is brewing, but I do not know how to pull it out.

Speaker A

And ask ChatGPT to ask you questions to really pull that offer out and then be okay with it taking you a couple of months to really refine that.

Speaker A

Like I said, I am getting coached at a very high level.

Speaker A

Like, I am in a lot of coaching programs right now, which I don't necessarily recommend unless you are insane like me and you are just so tired of not living up to your potential and you are ready to dive in, which is exactly where I was.

Speaker A

And I was like, you know what?

Speaker A

2025 is the year that I go all in and I figure it out and I lock in and it has paid off.

Speaker A

But ask ChatGPT.

Speaker A

Just get started and then be comfortable reiterating getting conversations with people.

Speaker A

Ask people, get feedback, and just really pull that offer out of yourself and get crystal clear on you want to be known as okay.

Speaker A

Number two, in ways that your business mirrors you is content.

Speaker A

Inconsistency is often boundaries and avoidance.

Speaker A

So if you are avoiding showing up, it's not about laziness.

Speaker A

It is the fear of being seen.

Speaker A

I talked about this on the podcast several months ago, where I was just in this place where I was so in my head about being seen.

Speaker A

I thought people were gonna judge me.

Speaker A

I thought people were gonna talk about me.

Speaker A

I thought that if I talked about the things that I really wanted to talk about, people were gonna be like, who in the heck does this girl think that she is?

Speaker A

And look, I'll be honest, there's probably some people out there that are talking about me like that.

Speaker A

And that's totally fine.

Speaker A

I have learned to step into my voice because the people that are talking negatively about you, they don't matter anyway and they're probably gonna talk about you regardless of what you say, what you do.

Speaker A

So let them talk.

Speaker A

But there are people out there who need to hear what you have to say.

Speaker A

And it is such a disservice and it is honestly selfish to those people to not step into your voice and step into your position and step into your place.

Speaker A

Whether that is online or in in person events or one on one mentor group coaching, whatever it is.

Speaker A

Like if you need to open a restaurant, if you need to open a boutique, if you need to, you know, be a coach, be a mentor, whatever it is, step into whatever it is that you're dreaming of.

Speaker A

Step into what you're being called to do.

Speaker A

Like, I am not joking you.

Speaker A

The last few years, I feel like I've been pulled into what I'm currently doing and I resisted it.

Speaker A

And I was like, no thanks, don't want that.

Speaker A

No change for me.

Speaker A

I'm super good.

Speaker A

And eventually I had to.

Speaker A

It got to the point where everything in my life was so painful that I had to have a gut check and ask myself, okay, what am I avoiding?

Speaker A

Like, why am I so scared of being seen?

Speaker A

And once Again, go to ChatGPT.

Speaker A

Ask ChatGPT to ask you questions.

Speaker A

Talk to your therapist, talk to a friend, talk to a mentor, talk to someone and figure out what that fear of being seen is really rooted in.

Speaker A

And heal that within yourself and you will change and your business will change and your relationships will change and so many things around you will change.

Speaker A

I promise you it is worth the discomfort that you're going to set through for you to come out on the other side.

Speaker A

Okay, number three, Scattered systems often mean a dysregulated nervous system.

Speaker A

So if you are dropping balls and forgetting things and constantly late, it's not because you need a better planner.

Speaker A

It's probably because your body is in threat mode.

Speaker A

So I have been doing a lot of speeches here lately in person, which has been really cool.

Speaker A

On the different responses that our body goes through and what a lot of us, when we think of like fight, flight, freeze or fawn, we often think of something that is physical.

Speaker A

Like, I know when I think about it, I think of a deer or, you know, like if somebody ran in the room and scared me.

Speaker A

But oftentimes those are responses to a text message or an email or just the general demands on us that happen every single day.

Speaker A

And I was in a place where my body was constantly in fight mode, so that was my trauma response, and I was never coming back down.

Speaker A

So I was just constantly in fight mode.

Speaker A

And every text message that came in, every notification that came in, every request that came in kind of triggered that threat in my body.

Speaker A

And I thought it was the industry I was in or the career that I was in.

Speaker A

I was like, okay, if I just change industries, if I just change careers, everything's going to be better.

Speaker A

And then I shifted, and things were still the same, and I learned that I had to really work on regulating my nervous system.

Speaker A

And now a notification or a request or a text message that a year ago would have sent me into a mental spiral.

Speaker A

Now I'm like, it is what it is.

Speaker A

It's nothing that has to be emotional.

Speaker A

It's nothing that have to, you know, attack or it's nothing that's coming at me.

Speaker A

It just is what it is.

Speaker A

And so really think about that.

Speaker A

If you feel like you're reacting violently to things, or if your body has, like, this intense reaction when something happens or when you have an idea, just consider regulating your nervous system once again.

Speaker A

You can go to ChatGPT.

Speaker A

You can say, hey, ChatGPT, this is my lifestyle.

Speaker A

This is what I enjoy.

Speaker A

This is what is stressing me out.

Speaker A

Can you give me some specific ways that I can regulate my nervous system?

Speaker A

For me, a walk every day is necessary.

Speaker A

I have to walk every day.

Speaker A

And I'll be super transparent.

Speaker A

The first half of my walk is usually just crazy thoughts spiraling through my brain.

Speaker A

And I'm like, am I going crazy?

Speaker A

Is everything good?

Speaker A

And then the second half of the walk, my brain is quiet.

Speaker A

And I can calmly think through things, and I can calmly come up with solutions to problems and come up with new strategies.

Speaker A

And then that's when the ideas start pouring and they just start coming to me and figure out what that is for you.

Speaker A

A walk might not be it.

Speaker A

You might need to do tapping or frequencies or whatever it is.

Speaker A

You just need to find your own way of regulating your nervous system.

Speaker A

But your business and your nervous system are directly tied together.

Speaker A

Your clients and your customers and your consumers and your audience can all pick up on your energy, and you want to be the girl that they all want to go to.

Speaker A

And so just consider looking into that.

Speaker A

If you are not into nervous system regulation, do some research on that.

Speaker A

I've got some podcast episodes where I've talked about that in the past and I might do a refresh on that coming up soon because like I said, I have done a lot of in person speeches on that here lately.

Speaker A

And it is something that is seems to be very interesting to a lot of people.

Speaker A

And you know, there's a lot of nervous system.

Speaker A

Coaches coming out is definitely not something that I'm going to coach on specifically, but it is something that is obviously very important to business strategy.

Speaker A

So it's something that I need to, you know, make sure I stay on top of in terms of regulating my own nervous system and being able to talk on it.

Speaker A

Okay, number four.

Speaker A

And this one's going to be a tough one for us ladies.

Speaker A

Undercharging is a self trust gap.

Speaker A

You're probably not scared to raise your price.

Speaker A

You're scared that you can't deliver it as the version you are now.

Speaker A

This is something I am still currently struggling through.

Speaker A

When I see the prices that some women charge, my mind can't even connect me to that number.

Speaker A

And I am learning that I have some money wounds that I have to heal.

Speaker A

And a lot of women who are very successful and are charging premier prices, they just know that they are delivering as a version that they are.

Speaker A

And so this isn't about knowing everything.

Speaker A

This isn't about being the expert.

Speaker A

It's just about being settled in who you are, are and what you can offer.

Speaker A

And you're going to be able to offer different things at different times in your life, different seasons of your life, different portions of your career.

Speaker A

But wherever you are right now, you have something to offer to someone else.

Speaker A

Yes, you probably need to, you know, package it the right way.

Speaker A

You need to have the right funnels, you need to have the right content, you need to have the right et cetera, X, Y, Z.

Speaker A

But being comfortable and having self evidence and self trust is wildly important.

Speaker A

That is something that I have been working on specifically the last couple of weeks because it was really pointed out to me, you know, I was having a conversation with someone.

Speaker A

This wasn't even in a coaching container.

Speaker A

This was just outside of business life really.

Speaker A

And I guess I said something that triggered this to her and she was like, blakely, why don't you trust yourself?

Speaker A

Or like, why don't you have the, you know, belief that you are worthy of that?

Speaker A

And I was like, well, because I haven't proved this or I haven't been in, you know, XYZ long enough.

Speaker A

She was like, no, like, the version of you, who you are now is worth it.

Speaker A

You just need to trust yourself more and build more evidence.

Speaker A

Like, you need an evidence bank of how valuable you are.

Speaker A

And that evidence bank is built up by your actions.

Speaker A

It's not built up by reading another book or listening to another podcast.

Speaker A

It's built up by action.

Speaker A

And so I have really been trying to take a lot of action, a lot of messy action the last couple of weeks just to build that evidence bank in myself of like, hey, you know what?

Speaker A

I actually can do that, or I actually can talk about this, or I actually can help this person with xyz, whatever it is.

Speaker A

And so if you're in a space where you are feeling conflicted and feeling nervous about charging what you feel like you're worth or the value that you can actually provide, maybe consider building up that bank of evidence.

Speaker A

And that bank of evidence, like I said, is built up with action.

Speaker A

Okay, final one.

Speaker A

Chaotic execution is often avoiding the version of you who plays bigger.

Speaker A

You're not flaky.

Speaker A

You are just terrified of becoming the woman that your future requires.

Speaker A

And that is perfectly understandable.

Speaker A

And okay, I have also been experiencing this the last few months where I feel like I'm on the brink of stepping into the next version of myself and the next level of my success.

Speaker A

And it's terrifying when people start in your mind when you think you're like, oh, my gosh, I cannot wait for people to say, wow, Blakely, you're.

Speaker A

You know, I can.

Speaker A

I feel like you're on the verge of something, or you're, you know, about to have a breakthrough or all these things, you envision it.

Speaker A

When you're at the beginning, you're like, man, when people start saying that, it's going to feel so good.

Speaker A

And.

Speaker A

And then you get to the point where it's happening, and it's like, oh, my gosh, can I handle this?

Speaker A

Like.

Speaker A

And on the face of it, it almost makes you feel guilty for feeling nervous and feeling scared.

Speaker A

But what I've had to realize is I am stepping outside of my comfort zone again.

Speaker A

So I have built a new comfort zone in this new version of success.

Speaker A

And every.

Speaker A

I guess I thought that eventually stepping into a new version of success would get easier as you go, but you're always going to be leaving a comfort zone, and it's always going to feel uncomfortable.

Speaker A

Every version, every layer, every level.

Speaker A

You know, I talk to women who are making multiple seven figures a year, which is, like I said, I've got to fix that.

Speaker A

Money mindset because that is something that is hard for me to wrap my mind around.

Speaker A

But these women are talking about the same thing that me and you are talking about right now.

Speaker A

They're having the same conversation where they're having to get comfortable with this new version of success, this new level of success.

Speaker A

It is something that you're going to have to deal with in every season, every level, every version.

Speaker A

And so I think that a lot of us at the beginning, and I'm using beginning as air quotes because we, at least for me, I was like, something is wrong.

Speaker A

Like, I am stepping into a place where I don't deserve to be, or, you know, I need to just stay over here.

Speaker A

I need to stay in my lane, because this doesn't feel good.

Speaker A

This feels uncomfortable.

Speaker A

This doesn't feel right.

Speaker A

I am too scared to become that woman.

Speaker A

And I think I looked at other women who were making the multiple six figures, multiple seven figures.

Speaker A

I was like, man, I just don't have what they have.

Speaker A

They just do it with ease.

Speaker A

They do it with grace.

Speaker A

They just feel comfortable.

Speaker A

But as I'm getting in more rooms and having more conversations with more women, I'm like, oh, wow.

Speaker A

We're all experiencing the exact same thing.

Speaker A

If you are making your first $500 or if you are making your first 5 million, we are all experiencing a certain level of being terrified of becoming the woman that your future requires.

Speaker A

There's a lot of responsibility that comes with it.

Speaker A

There is a lot of action that is required at every level.

Speaker A

At least that I have gotten to.

Speaker A

I have less and less room for error in terms of I just don't feel like doing that today.

Speaker A

Like, at this point, I don't get that option anymore.

Speaker A

And part of it feels really good and really exciting.

Speaker A

And then the other part of me is like, oh, my gosh, what if I, like, want to procrastinate?

Speaker A

It's like, boo, you don't have a chance to procrastinate anymore.

Speaker A

Anymore.

Speaker A

And I do think mentally stepping into that space is really terrifying, especially if you are someone like me, who I held back for so long and so many years, my body got used to holding back.

Speaker A

And so stepping into that new version is really terrifying.

Speaker A

But just a reminder, it does not mean that anything is wrong.

Speaker A

It just means that you are stepping outside of your comfort zone.

Speaker A

So once again, I wanted to give you this simple reflection tool.

Speaker A

If you are experiencing this, you can put this in ChatGPT.

Speaker A

You can journal on this in your journal, in your diary, on a whiteboard, wherever you want.

Speaker A

But use this prompt.

Speaker A

Ask yourself what patterns in my business are trying to show me where I need to grow personally?

Speaker A

You might need more product knowledge, you might need more people knowledge, you might need to learn Instagram, you might need to learn TikTok, you might need to start a podcast, you might need to get a physical location, you might need to cold call, you might need to cold dm.

Speaker A

There might be areas in your life where you need to develop a skill and develop a certain part of yourself in order for you to grow your business.

Speaker A

And making those cold calls, getting in those dms, getting the physical location, it's going to bring up things in you that you didn't realize needed to be healed or that you needed to grow and learn.

Speaker A

And a lot of it is just going to come from action.

Speaker A

There's really no way to overcome the fear except just to hit it head on and know that you're not alone.

Speaker A

So many women are experiencing this.

Speaker A

And I, I really truly think at this point in my life, I fully think that starting a business is the biggest mirror when it comes to personal development.

Speaker A

Like, I cannot stress that enough.

Speaker A

If you plan on starting anything new, if you plan on starting anything big, if you plan on stepping into a new role, you 100% will be shown the cracks in your personal development in terms of how you carry yourself, how you speak to other people, how you feel about yourself, how you feel about your relationships, how you feel about your life in general.

Speaker A

It is going to show you so many things that you did not realize and it's going to be one of the most beautiful journeys, but it's also going to be really painful.

Speaker A

And I think, unfortunately a lot of women take that pain as, oh, this is wrong, I don't need to do this.

Speaker A

Never mind.

Speaker A

And you see so many women have these big beautiful ideas and they have ideas that could really change the world and they step back when it starts to feel painful.

Speaker A

And when they start to look in the mirror and they start to see all the things that they need to work on personally, they go, oh, you know what, nevermind.

Speaker A

I didn't realize that all those things needed to be healed in me or needed to be, you know, brought to the light and I'm not meant for this.

Speaker A

And so they step back when really they just need to grow in that area so they can grow their business.

Speaker A

So journal on this.

Speaker A

That prompt again, is what patterns in my business are trying to show me where I need to grow personally.

Speaker A

Like I said, put this in chatgpt.

Speaker A

Playing it back and forth, journal, pen and paper, whiteboard, whatever it is.

Speaker A

But I want you to ask yourself this question before you invest in another tool, another coach, or another course.

Speaker A

Because if you want to build a better business, you've got to build a better internal system first.

Speaker A

Because whatever is happening in you is going to be what is happening throughout your business.

Speaker A

Hey, I hope this episode was extremely helpful for you, and I hope you have an amazing rest of your day.

Speaker A
