Speaker CI am Daniela Vidal.
Speaker CI'm 11 years old and I'm from math.
Speaker CMy school is Maptai Konda and I'm from Lima, Peru.
Speaker BAnd what belt are you?
Speaker CI am brown belt.
Speaker BVery good.
Speaker BAnd who's your instructor?
Speaker CMy instructor is Master Randal Mori, six degree black belt.
Speaker BThat's fantastic.
Speaker BI'm so excited to have somebody on the show from Peru.
Speaker BI think you might be the very first one on our show from Peru.
Speaker BNow, can you tell us, how did you get started in martial arts and.
Speaker CWell, I'm.
Speaker CIt started when I was 6 years old.
Speaker CMy parents went to I do a sport, but all the places were closed because of the pandemic.
Speaker CBut they found Mape Kondo and I do the class and I like it.
Speaker BAnd you've been doing it since then?
Speaker CYes.
Speaker BThat's fantastic.
Speaker BI love it.
Speaker BWhat's your favorite part of doing Taekwondo?
Speaker CMy favorite part is forms.
Speaker AI love forms.
Speaker ADid you.

Speaker BDid you go to the Pan Am Championships?
Speaker CYes.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BDid you compete there and did you get any medals or anything?
Speaker CYes, I have two silvermelons.

Speaker BA curveball at you, but when you do your Taekwondo, is there an event that is maybe not your favorite one?

Speaker BIt's not my favorite thing to do.

Speaker CIs sparring.
Speaker BStill getting used to sparring?
Speaker CYes.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, No, I totally understand.

Speaker BSo forms is your favorite.

Speaker BCan you tell me what is one of the.

Speaker AWhat does it mean to you to.
Speaker BBecome a go beyond the belt as an athlete?
Speaker CFor me, beyond the belt means that no matter the prize, the awards or the medals, it means that you need to put all the effort that you put in your training, in the competence in the competition.
Speaker BOh, I love that.
Speaker BI love that.
Speaker BThat's fantastic.
Speaker BMaking sure you put everything into.
Speaker BIt doesn't matter about any metals, things like that.
Speaker BSo that's a great.
Speaker BA great piece of advice for others.
Speaker BDo you have some friends that you've met at the.
Speaker BThe Taekwondo school there?
Speaker BDo you like to, you know, compete against them with forms or you like to go to tournaments together with your Taekwondo friends?
Speaker CYes, I like it.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAnd would you have.
Speaker BOh, do you like weapons?
Speaker BIs weapons something you like to do?
Speaker CYes, I like jumbo.
Speaker BOh, that's your favorite?

Speaker BWe've had some different countries across the globe as athletes of the week and as interviews on the show, but I think you are the very first kid that we've had on the show from another country, and I love getting to highlight people from all over.
Speaker BHave you guys ever come to World Championships?
Speaker BAre you gonna look at someday being able to come to World championships in.
