Melissa Deally:

Welcome back to another episode of health hack as I continue talking about the many benefits of detoxing, and these are in no particular order, we are up to episode 414. I started this topic at Episode 406, if you want to go back and listen to the previous ones, and today I want to talk about how detoxing actually supports your liver and your kidneys. Now, these are your detoxification organs. And I know many people might say, well, if they do the detoxing, why do I have to do more. And the reason that you need to do more and support your liver and kidneys in their detoxing efforts is simply that we live in a toxic world with 144,000 man made chemicals since World War Two, our bodies were never designed to have to live with that level of toxicity. And so our liver and kidneys have our get burdened and overburdened, and they can't do their job well, unless we support them. The other factor here is that we have nutrient deplete soil systems and our detox pathways in our liver detox is in two phases. And the second phase is what turns those toxins to being water soluble, so that we can excrete them through our liver, sorry, through our bowels and our urine and our skin, and our breath. And the nutrients that are needed in order for the liver to be able to convert the toxins to being water soluble, are not found easily in our soil systems anymore. And as a result, when we support the body by putting these nutrients in, then the liver can do what it needs to do in order to help get those toxins out of the body. If it can't get them out of the body, it will store them in our fat closets. And our fat closets are largely in our brain. In women, they're in our breasts, and I don't want toxins being stored in my brain. Look at all the neurodegenerative diseases that are out there. I also don't want toxins being stored in my breasts. Look at all the breast cancer that's out there. I want to support my body and being able to get these toxins out of my body. And I love to share this information with everybody so that people have choices and you can choose what's right for you on your health journey. And if you would like to do a functional medicine, detox to support your liver and kidneys and doing their job and allowing them to get back to being functioning at their optimal levels, then please reach out. I'd be happy to introduce you to my guided detox program and support you through that, Melissa at your guided health journey.com
