Welcome to Krystal Rowee Impact, a space dedicated to empowering you to be the change that your bloodline has been waiting for.
Speaker:Join me and together, let's inspire change.
Speaker:Kia ora whānau and welcome.
Speaker:I'm feeling so nervous and I'm still getting used to this new hat that I'm wearing, this one that I'm discovering and this amazing opportunity that I'm partaking in at the moment on this podcast journey and it's a little nerve-wracking so I'm just
Speaker:Bear with me as I find my composure.
Speaker:And that's kind of what life is like for me at the moment, or just in general.
Speaker:So a lot of the times it's crazy and a lot of the times it's full on with such a busy life, being a businesswoman, a wife and a mother to a lot of kids.
Speaker:For an example, one of the ways that I balance the energy in our house is that when we wake up, obviously all the kids are going crazy and wild so early in the morning.
Speaker:I think the earliest one wakes up is about 5, 5.30 and sometimes their energy can be so high and just so dramatic.
Speaker:or someone might have got out of the bed the wrong side and it's just full on and there's been times where we'll literally open our door with our phone playing meditation and with our sage and we're just like line up kids and we get the kids to just line up and drop into a zen space and
Speaker:they'll hear the music and they'll smell the sage and instantly they are starting to become a little bit more calm.
Speaker:And that's one way that I get through each day.
Speaker:It's one way that I balance being
Speaker:all the things but prioritizing staying sane as well.
Speaker:So that's one beautiful way of balancing life is actually the way we begin our day.
Speaker:A lot of the times we rush into the next thing that we need to do and we're already panicking about the things that we haven't done or the things that we have to do or the things we missed yesterday that we have to now do today and we spend so much time
Speaker:getting heightened and not regulating ourselves and not taking time to breathe.
Speaker:So when I experience that with my children, I try to really tone down the energy so that I can cope.
Speaker:It's actually really always comes back to self.
Speaker:And when our environment's like crazy, it's our job to be able to balance
Speaker:the energies within our lives.
Speaker:So the beautiful thing that I've experienced is that you can influence your environment if you just learn the simple things.
Speaker:For me, I like to breathe and meditate.
Speaker:It's not necessarily sitting there like hum, but more so about clearing and calming the mind.
Speaker:and just allowing what you need in that present moment to come to fruition.
Speaker:So for me, I like to just have flow in the morning.
Speaker:Sometimes if we're not out of our room early enough for our kids, they'll play some really cool music, like really old school music.
Speaker:And they know that as soon as they're playing that, we're out there and we're dancing and we're setting that tone.
Speaker:And it really helps to
Speaker:just set the day right and it makes the rest of the day flow quite easily as well.
Speaker:Another way that I like to balance life is to prioritise what's most important to me for that day.
Speaker:So if things are piling up and we're sort of not getting our to-do list done, try to break it down into what's most important, what's important and what can wait.
Speaker:With anything that can wait, I'll have another glance over it.
Speaker:And if I can do it within five minutes, I'll quickly get it done.
Speaker:But if it's going to take any longer, I just put it to the side like it's not even there.
Speaker:And then that way it's sort of like out of mind, out of sight.
Speaker:And then I'm able to like clear my plate a little bit.
Speaker:And I think too many times I'm always trying to add to my plate or juggle and
Speaker:Sometimes I've learned that I actually end up dropping the ball on some things and it doesn't really work out as well as I planned and as my husband says I'm a perfectionist so it doesn't really work when you're trying to balance so many different things.
Speaker:So I have learned that
Speaker:it's OK to not get everything done and it's OK to give yourself permission to flow.
Speaker:And I think that's where the magic happens.
Speaker:Well, it does for me.
Speaker:I feel like I'm at my best when everything just flows and there's no right or wrong.
Speaker:And when you're trying to balance so much in your life, like a business and a happy and healthy home,
Speaker:And when you're trying to be the best person that you can be and also at the same time heal yourself, it can get really overwhelming.
Speaker:But if you just prioritise a little bit here, here and here, then you can actually get it all done.
Speaker:So a few non-negotiables for me is stress.
Speaker:It's just a no-go zone for me.
Speaker:I think when you're trying to balance too much things and you can identify that you're starting to get stressed out, I like to make the choice to not, just to stop, to completely stop and reassess.
Speaker:I always think that stress just doesn't suit me.
Speaker:It just is not my color.
Speaker:I don't operate from a very good place when I'm feeling stressed.
Speaker:It just doesn't suit me.
Speaker:So I really, really try hard.
Speaker:to not get stressed.
Speaker:It's just a non-negotiable because once I start to get stressed, all the other plates that I'm juggling start to get affected as well.
Speaker:So I think it's really important when we're balancing
Speaker:an entrepreneur life with a family and relationships, it's just really important.
Speaker:It's important for me to flow because then everybody else flows around you and then it's just this beautiful frequency that everybody's better for.
Speaker:So one of the things that I like to do for myself to keep myself balanced is a little bit of self-love, whether it's making a coffee or finding five minutes just to pass by water.
Speaker:I love the water and it's always really calming for me.
Speaker:Whenever I'm starting to feel off balance, I actually just take a little detour where I can smell the ocean or see the ocean and it's just my little thing.
Speaker:So I think it's really important when we're trying to balance life and business and motherhood and all the relationships that we have to find what works for you.
Speaker:Find what works and what resonates with your soul and once you actually
Speaker:have that.
Speaker:It's so easy and it's so attractive to make it a priority.
Speaker:And for myself, I used to always just drive by water and it would actually make a huge difference to how I was able to carry on with all the things that I needed to juggle.
Speaker:And also if you're a mum or a dad that's juggling kids, it's okay to let them get out of control sometimes.
Speaker:It's okay for things to not be perfect and it really is okay if the house isn't clean or the washing's not done because at the end of the day it's still going to be there and you can ground yourself and you can
Speaker:get back to that strong point and actually go and do all the things that you need to do.
Speaker:But if you're really focused on balancing everything at the same time, something will give.
Speaker:But if you choose on what gives at what time, you have more control over a successful outcome.
Speaker:So for me personally, if I'm not feeling up to it, I'm just not feeling up to it, and that's okay.
Speaker:I've learned to accept that the washing's always going to be waiting for me, or the dishes are going to be there, and the rubbish is always going to need to be taken out, but it doesn't
Speaker:It doesn't determine your worth, and it doesn't determine who you are, whether you're a good mum or a bad mum, if certain things aren't done.
Speaker:So for me, I just want to always find that inner peace and that balance.
Speaker:makes me feel okay, makes me feel worthy, and makes me feel at peace.
Speaker:Because that's the key, is living life peacefully.
