All right, and welcome to Episode one of the Real Moms Playbook, where balanced and blessed becomes a lifestyle. I'm your host, Lisa Autry.

Episode one today covers the millennial mom myth and our truths, and also includes an intro for how this whole series is best utilized by you to make you truly unstoppable in motherhood and beyond.

First off, I would like to begin by thanking our premier sponsor of the Real Moms Playbook, Earthley Wellness, a brand who offers safe and natural products for the whole family. So, as you heard earlier, I'm your host and author of the Real Moms Playbook Lisa Autry. I'm a born and raised California girl with a bachelor's in finance and entrepreneurship, a certification in the KonMari Method and just a talent for managing my time. I'm a homeschooling mama to two wild and amazing little girls and my inspiration behind our corporation, The Daughter Diaries, Inc.

I decided a few months ago to launch this podcast after publishing my first book, because well, motherhood is really tough and sometimes you need that extra support in your ear, guiding you on how to complete what I've termed as an intentional transformation.

It's our intention to make the changes in our life so that we are effective and most importantly, happy. It's kind of an interesting word, happy, huh? Something that our society really doesn't talk about today. And I really want to get to the heart of what happiness means for you.

I've also learned a lot since even publishing my book in November, so this podcast will serve as a reiteration and expansion as well as further clarification so you can craft your best life.

First, make sure you pick up the Real Moms Playbook. It's full of spaces to brain-dump think beyond what we discuss on this podcast and helps continue your journey. Even when these recordings end. It's I like to call the little black book of secrets to success. And your journey doesn't end here, remember that. So utilize them together.

What you're going to be doing is you're going to be crafting your unique life, the life that you desire to lead. So this book is not about here, you're going to do this and then life will be perfect. It's your journey to becoming the best you possible.

Now I do want to caveat this whole series. My life wasn't always a prepped and polished and performing life. I actually was a flipping disaster that felt like I was always moving backwards, always yelling and always stressed and always a mess. I mean, always. I was constantly a mess.

This whole podcast is about the real mom who desires to take action in her life, desires to be the person she wants to be. Even if she doesn't know that person quite yet, I promise we will get there together. We can have our cake and eat it too.

This podcast is not about making your life into mine because all of our circumstances are different. And the choices we make in our lives are different and unique. I'm not going to be coaching you through raising teenagers because I haven't gotten to that phase of life yet. That's not the point of an intentional transformation. The point is to realize and act on your ideal life. Not mine. So this whole book and series is about crafting, cultivating and creating the life you desire and I just take you through the foundational forums in order to execute it.

So what is a real mom? She's a mom who doesn't hide behind a perfectly polished Instagram or proclaims to live a perfectly charmed life. She's a total hot mess that is just surviving one challenge after another. But don't worry, we are going to take you from surviving to thriving in this whole series.

Motherhood is a whole mess of a journey of learning, stumbling and trying again. But you don't have to fall down and stay there. I'm going to show you how in these 13, maybe 14, 15 episodes, as we dive into the millennial mom myth and how to conquer it. So now I want you to grab the Playbook. You can have your softcover or hardcover copy, the pages will be exactly the same. There's a few areas that I want you to highlight and to make notes of.

So first we're going to say, what is the millennial mom myth? You're going to open up to page six and highlight this section.

I really want you being very clear on the myth versus the truth. Remember, we are not living someone else's life. We're going to live your best life.

So what is the millennial mom myth? You guys know, I really believe society is trying to dictate what happiness looks like to us, but happiness to everyone is different. So on page six, I covered the millennial mom myth and here it goes, I can have everything all the time and only then will my life be perfect and, I, be happy.

Let me read that one more time. I can have everything all the time and only then will my life be perfect and, I, be happy.

So I'm a very visual person, so having that copy in front of me and making notes and highlighting helps me. And yes, I'm doing that even in my own book that I wrote. It's nice to go through and read it. So as I'm going through these episodes, I'm rereading the chapter and saying, what else can I do for you guys? What else can I provide you with so that you can feel like you're stepping into your best self. And I want to take you guys on this journey together. We're doing this journey together to really stepping into unstoppable. So highlight that section.

And the millennial mom myth is dragging so many of us down, trying to meet falsified expectations that society has placed on us.

After a quick break with one of our sponsors, I want to discuss the truth that you're going to be achieving throughout this whole book.

Let's take a quick break to learn about an amazing woman owned business that strives for success and confidence. We'll be right back.

[Sparkle & Shine with Kim Ad]

And we're back. This is the Real Moms Playbook, in case you forgot the last 20 minutes of your own life, because you were yelling at your kids.

So before the break, we talked about the millennial mom myth. Now don't worry if you're not a millennial mom, this can still apply to you. This is kind of a societal standard now. Right? I can be happy if I get everything I want.

Do you fit in this box of self-perception? Are you struggling in your day-to-day life? Are you always comparing? Always just trying to get through the next mess, the next fight, the next task. Are you trying to live someone else's life? Are you trying to put your own life in one little tiny phrase, explanation, like hot mess.

We are so much more than these thoughts and these terms. And our action really is going to dictate our success.

So through this whole series, this is your goal. And I want you to write this down, maybe in the back of the book or even right next to the millennial mom myth, wherever you want to put it is fine.

So this is what I want you guys to write. I am going to seek my truth and the life I desire. I am going to seek my truth and the life I desire.

So what is the millennial mom truth? Well, on page six, I wrote, when I get to the heart of what I desire in this life, I can have it all be happy, fulfilled, and not be a hot mess anymore because I am no longer living someone else's life. I am living my best life.

When you take action in your life, amazing things happen and you don't have to be the Energizer Bunny to achieve these things. We often see other moms talking about their life and we say, well, they don't get it because of this or they don't get it because of that. That's not my life. So it can't relate to me.

And yeah, exactly. All of us have unique situations, but it doesn't mean what we will be discussing won't pertain to you. You just need to apply it to your situation, to make it work for you. So I'm going to be giving you guys foundational tools that you can apply to your life. If you have young children, if you have older children, if you have many children, if you have one child, whatever is going to work for you, apply it to your life.

After the break, I will be closing this episode and discussing the section within the series so that you can see how the whole series is going to be laid out.

Let's take a final break to feature a mom business that is making leaps and strides for her success and her clients. Be right back.

[Mom Strong Ad]

Welcome back again to the Real Moms Playbook.

So fun fact about me. I'm actually quite a lazy person. And when you look at the things I've done in my life, it doesn't really feel like that or it doesn't seem like that, but it actually, I'm actually very lazy and the way in which I operate things is working on the smarter, not harder.

And this can actually be a strength. If you get all your ducks in a row first, then I say lean into that laziness to help you prioritize. I think this whole work smarter, not harder outlook is actually going to make you more successful in life. And I'm going to be talking about this more in the coming episodes so I'm going to be giving you ways of like how you can kind of work around some of the things so that you can be more successful.

So how can we best utilize these episodes with the book? This is what I recommend doing. I recommend you reading the chapter first before listening to these episodes, because episodes will solidify and expand on what you learn.

It's like that secondary reminder and will fuel you to take action. I promise, even if you're not a reader, you can get through these chapters. That's why I'm releasing the podcast because you can read the chapter quickly and solidify your thoughts with listening.

So a lot of people are like, are you going to release an ebook? Are you going to release an audible? It's not out of the realm of possibilities, but I know that there's something really magical about reading a book. I made it very easy to read, very easy to get through, the chapters aren't insanely long because, well, we're moms and we don't have time for that. I'm going to take you on an intentional transformation, which is the action of a thorough shift in one's life, led with purpose and diligence to rise to one's best self.

And I really want you guys to take that action and we're going to take that journey together.

We have a few main segments that we will be covering on both the playbook and this podcast. The chapters are exactly the same as the chapters within the book. So you're not going to be like, which episode is this? Which play is this? It's going to go in chronological order.

Here's the topics that we're going to be covering, your mindset, your nest, your time, your self-care, your money and your boundaries. And this will ultimately lead to your win in life. And why, why are we doing this? What will it yield? And where will we end up at the end of the intentional transformation?

What's our ultimate goal? I've been in the professional world a very long time now, high school was many, many years ago. And one thing I have found that everyone wants more of is time. More than money or anything else in life is time.

I've been many of you. I've dove in the trenches building three businesses while raising two babies. And so I've had to learn to take the finite amount of time and be successful with it while being fulfilled and becoming the juggling boss that I knew was within me. And that's what the intentional transformation is all about. It's all about putting the things in the right order for your foundational success.

It's not magic, although it feels like it, there's a certain way in which we can do things that can yield our success. And if you feel stretched thin pulled at the end of your rope or just overwhelmed, I just want you to follow and subscribe the Real Moms Playbook series because then I can help take you on this journey one step at a time, one play at a time, one day at a time. If I can do it, I know you can too. I'm not special. I was just a tired mom who wanted something more in her life. I wanted more than the messes, more than the chaos, more than the yelling. And so that's what this whole intentional transformation is all about.

I truly believe mothers are better together as Cara Leyba says, she says women are better together, but I'm going to apply it to motherhood. And I'm asking you to believe in yourself enough to dive into this podcast and the book with passion and persistence, because the life awaiting you on the other side of this transformation is absolutely amazing.

I'm not going to pretend like the intentional transformation is easy and it's not going to take work. It takes a lot of mindset and physical work, but I want you to remember you are an inspiring mother, amazing wife, or maybe you're rocking the single mama life, and a talented individual. Now it's time for you to realize it and live to your full and true potential.

I am here with you every step of the way.

I want to close today with a quote that my friend and client and sponsor of this podcast, Kim Bain told me that was extremely impactful and I want you to carry it with you during the series and remind you of the change you desire. So here's that quote, you are where you are today, because that's where you want to be, otherwise you would do what's necessary to change it. Rick Goings. I'm going to repeat that one more time. You are where you are today, because that's where you want to be otherwise you would do what's necessary to change it. Rick Goings.

You know, it's kind of funny because I work with women in all different capacities, whether it's my Tribe or one-on-one, I've done various challenges throughout the years. And everyone joins with one purpose. They want some sort of change in their life, but then once they dive in, they realize how hard it really can be.

But at the end of the day, I want you to go back and say, this is where I want to be. This change is where I want to be. You aren't listening to this podcast just because I have a soothing voice or because the sponsors are amazing, although they are, you are listening to this because you desire a change.

In the coming episodes, we are going to define that change and take action every single week.

It's time to say goodbye to some of those limiting beliefs and step into your true potential. Now let's get going. Thank you for joining me for the Real Moms Playbook, which has been made possible by our amazing sponsors.
