Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Foreign m

Speaker:

episode of 2025. Here we

Speaker:

are, New Year. Same us, uh,

Speaker:

here on Chase and Birdies. Happy New Year to all out there

Speaker:

listening. Thank you for tuning in today and

Speaker:

happy New Year to you, my man. Pepsi. Good to see you, bud.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, Happy New Year, man. I'm really excited about

Speaker:

that. Uh, a little fresh start for the

Speaker:

boys. So, um, that's

Speaker:

exciting, dude.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You were a little. You were cross eyed right there.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, well, I was cross eyed this week too,

Speaker:

but from alcohol. Um, all

Speaker:

right, 2025.

Speaker:

Again, we are happy to be

Speaker:

partnering with our boys over at Red

Speaker:

Vanly. We're excited for that for

Speaker:

2025. We're excited for our

Speaker:

partnership with Nemicolon for 2025.

Speaker:

And we got a couple others trickling down the

Speaker:

pipeline. But make sure you

Speaker:

go to redvamily.com. i know that they're gonna be

Speaker:

sponsoring the Chase and Birdies two, man. Uh,

Speaker:

that we're kind of putting together right now. We're getting all the details, all

Speaker:

the pricing finalized this year. We're gonna go to 48

Speaker:

people. Um, so that's exciting

Speaker:

and we'll get into that a little bit, but we got a lot to get

Speaker:

into today.

Speaker:

We've had a busy couple weeks, man, between

Speaker:

Christmas, which I was sick, Christmas, uh,

Speaker:

day I was down for the count. What, uh, Santa bring you, man? What

Speaker:

was your favorite? Like a little gift?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It wasn't even Santa that brought this thing rolling

Speaker:

into my house, man. It was Christmas Eve,

Speaker:

and we were out at Christmas Eve

Speaker:

festivities and coming home in

Speaker:

the evening, I see a box on my front porch,

Speaker:

this box, and I thought that it

Speaker:

was left by her sister or

Speaker:

somebody here at the house to be thrown away. It was just a

Speaker:

moving box. So anytime you see a moving box, you're like, oh, what

Speaker:

the hell is that doing? Okay, So I wasn't even

Speaker:

thinking about it until after being in the house for a couple

Speaker:

of minutes. And I said, well, I'll go grab that box off the front

Speaker:

porch here and, uh, throw it in the garage, get it to the

Speaker:

trash. You know what was in that box?

Speaker:

You know what's in that box?

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, I know it was in the box, but, um, I'll act like I didn't

Speaker:

know what.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I look into that box, and there are two puppies,

Speaker:

two little puppies rearing their head out, looking at me

Speaker:

like they just found a new home. And I'm thinking, no way.

Speaker:

You did not just find a new home. Although I am a

Speaker:

sucker for dogs. So I pull these dogs in

Speaker:

And I immediately go, what the hell am I gonna

Speaker:

do with these two dogs? And that kind

Speaker:

of just right there put me on my side a little bit. My axis. I was

Speaker:

thinking about Christmas Eve dinner. Uh, headed

Speaker:

back home to grab some bites with the family. And now I

Speaker:

got these two pups. And fortunately, you

Speaker:

know me, it's like, I'm not gonna give them just to anybody. I need

Speaker:

to find a good home for them, which was my

Speaker:

first responsibility aspect. After

Speaker:

cleaning them up a little bit, give them a bath, brush them down,

Speaker:

get some food.

Speaker:

>> RB: But was there just timeout? Because there.

Speaker:

I mean, there was a note in the box. Correct?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: There was a note in the box that said, you know, hey, I

Speaker:

can't really afford these dogs

Speaker:

anymore. Two already passed away, and these

Speaker:

two were left. And I thought that this could be a better

Speaker:

home, which still.

Speaker:

>> RB: Want to talk to this person. I want to talk to this person. Be like, how did you end

Speaker:

up. Because your house isn't, like, exactly

Speaker:

the. It's not like. It's, like, off the

Speaker:

main highway, right? You gotta kind of like, mosey on back and

Speaker:

gate and all that jazz. So

Speaker:

how did he end up on that one?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Right? And I got great video

Speaker:

surveillance of it because I have cameras everywhere, so I'm

Speaker:

able to kind of see and zoom in on the face. Didn't recognize

Speaker:

the guy, but, you

Speaker:

know, you could look at it from, like, so many different

Speaker:

angles. Like, you know what. What a douche. You know?

Speaker:

Why would somebody do that? No, exactly.

Speaker:

My thought is, you know what? I'd rather him do that

Speaker:

than kill him. Then kill him. Or put them in the woods and let

Speaker:

them suffer. You know, that was,

Speaker:

um. That was a pretty wild

Speaker:

experience. But my boy TK up in Chicago,

Speaker:

um, sent me a package of a photo.

Speaker:

And I tell you what, this. This FedEx box looked like. It

Speaker:

was. It was a Jumbotron sitting there,

Speaker:

uh, right. Uh, before Christmas.

Speaker:

And to me, that was one of the coolest

Speaker:

gifts because it just captured a moment in time. It was

Speaker:

a phenomenal photo, naturally, of me,

Speaker:

okay, standing on the tee box at number seven,

Speaker:

Mystic M Rock from this past fall.

Speaker:

And beautifully placed. I mean, we're talking,

Speaker:

like, meticulous. This. This way this picture

Speaker:

just sits. Is huge. It's huge. So I

Speaker:

had it sitting out in the kitchen, and the kids were all

Speaker:

like, what is that? I was like, oh, that's

Speaker:

me. Where was that from? I said, that's when I played in the

Speaker:

US Open. Someone got his photo.

Speaker:

Photo.

Speaker:

>> RB: They're like, a number of questions and maybe BCATs

Speaker:

would have been the one in the kitchen.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But no, no, I didn't. I didn't even show it to

Speaker:

him yet. But, um, you know, so that. Taking it back now,

Speaker:

this has been a couple of weeks. A lot of things have happened. But going to that

Speaker:

point in time, those two moments were like,

Speaker:

you know, and obviously being with family, everything like that, you

Speaker:

know. Um, so, yeah,

Speaker:

man, that. That was pretty much a little bit about my Christmas.

Speaker:

Now, I understand you were a little under the weather.

Speaker:

>> RB: I was under the weather. And, um, yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Good time with your kids?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, I had a great time with the kids, but it just stinks because

Speaker:

that day, Christmas Day, they're so excited. I'm

Speaker:

sweating bullets over here. I'm cold, I'm

Speaker:

hot, I'm all this stuff, and I'm laying on the couch and they want to play with their

Speaker:

toys at. Santa brought them, rightfully so.

Speaker:

And I couldn't exactly muster up the

Speaker:

energy to do it. Um, so

Speaker:

the 26th was a busy day, shall we say, Because I

Speaker:

started feeling better. Wasn't 100%,

Speaker:

but, um, we got it done.

Speaker:

And, you know, this

Speaker:

VR stuff, virtual reality

Speaker:

mask that Parker has. I mean, uh, he's gonna end up through

Speaker:

a wall, I mean, at some point.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Or have seizures,

Speaker:

potentially.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I mean, because the brain is still developing and all this fast

Speaker:

twitching movement cannot be good for kids.

Speaker:

>> RB: No, but it's there.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So especially as your offspring, like, you kind of have

Speaker:

that tendency to begin with, like, squirrel.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um. So, um. But other

Speaker:

than that, man, we had. It was an exciting Christmas for the most part.

Speaker:

Santa brought them each, uh, everything that they were

Speaker:

hoping for, and. And, um, it was just. It was an

Speaker:

overall. It was a good year, man. I was tough

Speaker:

on the golf game with the. With the broken ankle,

Speaker:

but, um, other than that, the year was great.

Speaker:

I'm not gonna let that.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: This is the time, right?

Speaker:

Did you get any golf gadgets, anything related to

Speaker:

golf? Like, this is the time of year

Speaker:

where guys get shit, right? Like the wife,

Speaker:

the ladies want to, like, impress. Like, for once

Speaker:

act like they don't care that we love golf, so they

Speaker:

just come out of the blue and buy a driver. And that's

Speaker:

the type of shit you can't just buy. It's appreciated,

Speaker:

but it's like, no, I did not.

Speaker:

>> RB: I don't get anything. Like,

Speaker:

golf wise. I, uh, really didn't get much, dude. I

Speaker:

didn't want. I don't want anything.

Speaker:

Because we're at the point in our life where if we want it we

Speaker:

go get it, and then it makes it difficult for the

Speaker:

ladies to buy for us. And I completely understand.

Speaker:

So, um. Well, I didn't necessarily

Speaker:

get, like, oh, my God, that was incredible.

Speaker:

Uh, it was just. You know, actually,

Speaker:

my mom got me some of the best gifts up, but.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, well, moms always do. And your mom's great.

Speaker:

>> RB: And, um, then, you know, we.

Speaker:

We had New Year's at all the bowl

Speaker:

games, which was. Has been absolutely bonkers,

Speaker:

man.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Nine days in. We're nine days into the new year already. Hard to

Speaker:

believe. And, you know, tonight, what is the

Speaker:

game for Green for New Year's?

Speaker:

>> RB: What did I do for New Year's Eve? We went to a friend's house,

Speaker:

and naturally, I got intoxicated.

Speaker:

And, um. Do you do the

Speaker:

whole, um,

Speaker:

sauerkraut work on New

Speaker:

Year's Day?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I mean, I have. It's not like, something I

Speaker:

make myself have to do. I just.

Speaker:

>> RB: I do it every year.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So if I was home for New Year's Day, I would have done it. Like.

Speaker:

Like last year, I did it. This year, I didn't do it.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, I, um. I love sauerkraut.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: But I only eat it once a year, and it's on New Year's Day, and, like, I.

Speaker:

I literally get so much sauerkraut, I'll put a

Speaker:

wiener on there, piece of pork,

Speaker:

cover all that in sauerkraut, no bread. And then I

Speaker:

just take yellow mustard and spray that

Speaker:

sauerkraut down. I mean, it's great hangover

Speaker:

food, too. Um, so that was. That

Speaker:

was really nice to.

Speaker:

To have that. And summer was sick on New Year's Day, so

Speaker:

I had to go to the old family house by myself

Speaker:

because the kids didn't want to go. So I'm there by myself, and I'm

Speaker:

like. And I'm watching bowl games and all

Speaker:

that stuff, acting like I'm interested in them.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Hey, what's the score? Yeah,

Speaker:

you know, we went to the Greenbrier for New Year's this

Speaker:

year, and that place was bumping,

Speaker:

dude. Like, I love the Greenbrier. I really

Speaker:

do. I think it's just an awesome

Speaker:

property. And Justin Beard at Sporting Club. Adam Perry. I got

Speaker:

to catch up with those guys. You know that that

Speaker:

track specifically is phenomenal. And then you take

Speaker:

it to the next level and go to the old white, which apparently this year was

Speaker:

in, like, superb shape. But it's a

Speaker:

really cool. It's just a cool spot. Ah, it's close to

Speaker:

my heart. But, um, it was so. It was so Damn

Speaker:

crowded. It was like. It's almost like. I

Speaker:

don't know, in some respect, I feel like the Greenbrier needs a little bit of a

Speaker:

facelift. But yet the fact that it doesn't get

Speaker:

that makes it that much more special, if that makes sense.

Speaker:

So people just don't care. In other words, they're like, screw it. You know what? We're

Speaker:

still going, and it's great, and food is great. Everybody's

Speaker:

great. So,

Speaker:

um, that's what I ended up

Speaker:

doing. And I mean,

Speaker:

Ohio State. Absolutely.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, you asked. I mean, you went

Speaker:

to the Ohio State Tennessee game.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. That was epic, dude. Um,

Speaker:

I thought it was so funny that Morgan Wallen

Speaker:

was at that game a couple boxes down from

Speaker:

us, and it must have gotten out

Speaker:

that he was there. I don't know what gave it away.

Speaker:

Maybe the security guard gave it away that was guarding

Speaker:

the door. But, dude, the hallway. We went out to go to the bathroom

Speaker:

at the half. The hallway was lined with teeny boppers,

Speaker:

and they're like, did you see him? Was he in there?

Speaker:

And I'm like, who the are you talking about, man?

Speaker:

I just got to go to the bathroom.

Speaker:

>> RB: You know, a 2025 goal for you.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You're right.

Speaker:

>> RB: Should really be maybe eliminating the, uh, F

Speaker:

word on the podcast a little bit, because

Speaker:

we have children. We do have children.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You're right. You're absolutely right. And

Speaker:

honestly, it's like,

Speaker:

here we go. Like, I sin, and you're perfect.

Speaker:

Right. So call me out.

Speaker:

>> RB: I'm, um, not perfect.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I agree.

Speaker:

>> RB: I just think that this has been brought to our attention a few

Speaker:

times, and the problem.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No, mainly by my mom. Um, but, yeah, you're right. You're

Speaker:

right. It's a good goal.

Speaker:

I'll add that on my list for 2025.

Speaker:

>> RB: Send it to the list, bud.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I'm not. I'm taking. I'm taking

Speaker:

accountability on this one, and I am agreeing with you that

Speaker:

I should probably. But, dude, it just adds some emphasis to

Speaker:

things. You know what I mean? It's like.

Speaker:

>> RB: But you'd be, like, freak.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No, but if you're. Yeah, freaking.

Speaker:

Yeah, like, freaking.

Speaker:

>> RB: Morgan Wallace was down there, like, freaking.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Like, yeah, who the freak are you talking about? Yeah, that sounds better.

Speaker:

That sounds really good. That's cool. That's great.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, but I'm not perfect by any means.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You're close, though. You're a great pal.

Speaker:

Uh, God, I just feel like there's

Speaker:

so much to even chitchat about. Dude, we. I had so many

Speaker:

laughs with you on this last Golf trip.

Speaker:

>> RB: And I mean, that's what people don't understand, is that

Speaker:

he had. My man Ryan had to drive from

Speaker:

White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia

Speaker:

to Morgantown, West Virginia

Speaker:

on January, uh, second.

Speaker:

Moseyed around for a couple hours at the, at the house,

Speaker:

and then popped over to the airport

Speaker:

and we flew down to

Speaker:

Clearwater for our first golf trip

Speaker:

of the year, January 2nd.

Speaker:

You know, maybe our ladies do have a valid point.

Speaker:

Well, I don't know. Maybe.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Let's talk about that, because here's the deal.

Speaker:

>> RB: When is too early? When it's too soon? When it's too late.

Speaker:

Is January 2nd too early?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, but then the other question would be if you, if you did a golf

Speaker:

trip around Christmas, they would, it would be, why

Speaker:

so late in the year?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, so now you just wait.

Speaker:

>> RB: I'm trying to get it out of the way.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Just wait another week, and then it's

Speaker:

like too early in the year. Well, it's not too early because it's

Speaker:

cold. It's perfect. There's all kind of different.

Speaker:

I think it's perfect because you get to spend a lot

Speaker:

of quality time in the two weeks leading up to that.

Speaker:

And then for three nights we get to go play golf. I mean, we play

Speaker:

golf. That's all we do. And eat dinner.

Speaker:

>> RB: Mhm.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But there were two golf trips going on when we, when

Speaker:

we were in Florida. So me and you were in Florida with Brandon Katz

Speaker:

of Michael George and Brian John,

Speaker:

Daddy Wap bailed.

Speaker:

Um, but then over on the west,

Speaker:

or I'm sorry, the east coast of Florida, you

Speaker:

had Steve peering, Ian Patrick, Anthony

Speaker:

Caruso moseying around that coast.

Speaker:

>> RB: Mhm.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Saw on Instagram that they played

Speaker:

Medalist. Now

Speaker:

the verdict from what I've heard, and I have.

Speaker:

Pierings called me today. I need to call him back.

Speaker:

>> RB: He called me too.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay, well, so he wants to hear if we know something about

Speaker:

how he played.

Speaker:

>> RB: He's sniffing around.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: He's sniffing, you know, and then he'll.

Speaker:

>> RB: Be like, hey, pal, how was your trip to Florida, bud?

Speaker:

Like, bud, you don't care how my trip was to Florida. Like you've

Speaker:

been. He. I told you, bud, he has

Speaker:

been. Hey man, safe travels to Florida. Well, Steve,

Speaker:

I don't leave for Florida for another three and a half weeks. Hey man,

Speaker:

safe travels to Florida. Hey, Steve, I don't leave for another three

Speaker:

weeks.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, like, uh, right.

Speaker:

>> RB: I don't know what to do. Well, I appreciate it, I truly

Speaker:

appreciate it, but it's almost like I just,

Speaker:

it feels like it's Getting to a point where maybe like.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Mhm.

Speaker:

>> RB: You don't need to wish me well three and a half weeks every

Speaker:

day to have fun in Florida. I am going to have fun

Speaker:

in Florida, you know?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: M and yeah, that's it. That's the type of friend that just cares

Speaker:

and wants to ask how you're doing. I mean,

Speaker:

and one thing about him is I've never seen him have a

Speaker:

bad day. Like I don't know if bad day

Speaker:

exists. You ever meet someone like that? Like, we're

Speaker:

kind of like Brian Johnson.

Speaker:

>> RB: Mm. Mhm.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: We had two people on a golf trip with two first names

Speaker:

as last names.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, that's. See, that's something new, something different.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Um,

Speaker:

so anyways, but yeah, I saw they played medalist.

Speaker:

Heard through the grapevine some of the scores that were coming out

Speaker:

of there, some of the players involved weren't

Speaker:

that great. Not

Speaker:

in line with some, some scores that we have

Speaker:

heard people shooting late in the year.

Speaker:

But we get in

Speaker:

to. I tell you what, dude, that, that's tough.

Speaker:

Okay? Flying late like that, getting in somewhere

Speaker:

late, it's just tough.

Speaker:

>> RB: But, but it was either that or 5am the

Speaker:

next day we take.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And that's tough too. That's tough too. So you're right, it

Speaker:

was, it was good. But I kind of

Speaker:

regret not going to the pizza shop Thursday night. You

Speaker:

know, I would have rather had a slice of

Speaker:

pizza m than the.

Speaker:

>> RB: Uh, burger, than the chicken quesadilla that I

Speaker:

had. That I'm sure that that cook

Speaker:

was not excited to cook at 11:45 at

Speaker:

night.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I mean, let's be honest.

Speaker:

>> RB: You think he was? Oh, he. My day was about to be done and

Speaker:

these three yoyos, uh, come in wanting something to eat.

Speaker:

Now.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So we played this course people called Ardia,

Speaker:

uh, Country Club outside of

Speaker:

Clearwater. A R D E A, I believe it's

Speaker:

spelled. And it's, uh, our good buddy's uncle's place.

Speaker:

And the greens, I gotta tell you,

Speaker:

they are ripping. That place is ripping. But here's one

Speaker:

thing I noticed about that place. I don't know if you saw

Speaker:

this, but they have parking

Speaker:

spots reserved for

Speaker:

their club champions for the previous year.

Speaker:

So, like the women's champion, this men's senior champion.

Speaker:

The men's champion. And we got there pretty

Speaker:

damn early on Friday morning.

Speaker:

And I was looking, I was kind of nosy. I'm looking at the cars

Speaker:

and there was a Ferrari parked on the left side.

Speaker:

Nice little Ferrari, one you don't see too

Speaker:

often. But then down

Speaker:

towards the Men's club champion

Speaker:

was this old classic

Speaker:

GTO. I mean, it had to be from the

Speaker:

80s. This thing, this muscle car just sitting there

Speaker:

ripping like. Like he's a

Speaker:

boss.

Speaker:

I mean, for driving that thing around, still

Speaker:

having to deal with probably all kind

Speaker:

of on it, and then parking that son of a. Right

Speaker:

there all day long. That's.

Speaker:

That's a move. Like, what are you driving

Speaker:

to country club? If you were to club champ

Speaker:

and you had a park in your spot.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, until two weeks ago,

Speaker:

uh, a, um, limited

Speaker:

edition club Toyota Camry.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Why do you say limited edition?

Speaker:

>> RB: Because it's an LE Bud

Speaker:

stands for limited edition, my book.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: The point to that was, I just think it's funny that they have

Speaker:

parking spots. Like, I haven't

Speaker:

seen that. I mean, I've won club championships before, and I had to park

Speaker:

a mile away.

Speaker:

>> RB: But you barely got your name on the board.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I tell you one other thing, too.

Speaker:

That steakhouse in Tampa, Burns,

Speaker:

dude, the. I mean. I mean it.

Speaker:

>> RB: Brian John got yelled at twice in three minutes

Speaker:

in the wine tour.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, don't touch the wine. He's touching.

Speaker:

>> RB: He's touching the wine bottles. Okay.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Don't leave the line.

Speaker:

>> RB: And then he just Moses off and starts going wine

Speaker:

cellar on his own. Like, bud,

Speaker:

can you just stand here, hands to your

Speaker:

side like we're in middle school, you know,

Speaker:

fingers tip straight.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Down, right down, shoulder to shoulder.

Speaker:

The guy, the little guy giving the tour got a little bitey

Speaker:

there.

Speaker:

>> RB: He got a little. He got a little teed off,

Speaker:

uh, whenever he touched it. Which, to be

Speaker:

fair, that could be a $4,000 bottle of wine that Bimmer was just, like,

Speaker:

pulling out of the.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Slot or $200,000 bottle of

Speaker:

wine.

Speaker:

>> RB: But that steak, dude, my God. Anybody that's never

Speaker:

been to Burns in Tampa, you have to go.

Speaker:

I'm telling you. Best deal in town.

Speaker:

Best deal in town. I got a

Speaker:

Delmonico, which for those of you out there,

Speaker:

that's a ribeye, 14 ounce

Speaker:

Delmonico with mushrooms,

Speaker:

onion straws, green beans,

Speaker:

baked potato soup, French

Speaker:

onion soup, which they're famous for,

Speaker:

and a salad. M. And that

Speaker:

was $85.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's. That's ridiculous. And

Speaker:

you got French dressing, and I got French dressing.

Speaker:

>> RB: Homemade. But that steakhouse is

Speaker:

out of this world.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It is interesting. The prices are that cheap when you think about

Speaker:

it, because you go to a place to get a steak, you're spending a hundred bucks on a

Speaker:

good steak.

Speaker:

>> RB: Think about the bottle of wine that you got.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That was a steal. We drank O3 Pinot Noir

Speaker:

de Mall, Russian River Valley,

Speaker:

2003 vintage. Now, the second

Speaker:

bottle, my man cracked a cork, so we had a little corky

Speaker:

flushing around in that wine. But that was an excellent

Speaker:

bottle of wine.

Speaker:

>> RB: That was a very good choice, uh, from you. So you're

Speaker:

becoming quite the.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I'm not. I'm just, you know. No, no, no. I

Speaker:

just. But seeing that

Speaker:

operation, they did a thousand seating,

Speaker:

a thousand dinners on New

Speaker:

Year's Eve, they ran out of silverware,

Speaker:

napkins. I mean, it's like. They

Speaker:

cut this. They cut your

Speaker:

steak.

Speaker:

>> RB: Comes in.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yes.

Speaker:

>> RB: Like, they're literally. They are. Uh, it was.

Speaker:

It really is. It's a cool experience because they take

Speaker:

you in to the tour after and they take you to the salad

Speaker:

station, which they're making fresh salads, which kind of a little pet

Speaker:

peeve of mine is, you know that

Speaker:

they just make salads like the day before, and they throw them in the fridge and they come

Speaker:

out. Right? Yeah, they're fresh. Making these

Speaker:

there. And then you go see the steaks, and they're pulling

Speaker:

orders, and they're cutting that piece of

Speaker:

meat for your order and putting it on a

Speaker:

dish and sending it to the

Speaker:

chef.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Right.

Speaker:

>> RB: Which, I mean, does it. I mean, it's literally coming off

Speaker:

the cow's ass to

Speaker:

you. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So how are you cooking your steaks?

Speaker:

>> RB: How do I cook my steaks?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, how you cook them?

Speaker:

>> RB: So I have a smithy, uh,

Speaker:

cast iron skillet. And, uh, which.

Speaker:

They are the best cast iron skillets out there. I've had this for

Speaker:

about seven years. Uh, this particular

Speaker:

one that I use, it's a little deeper. Put

Speaker:

them in to sear it. So two minutes on one side, flip it

Speaker:

over two minutes the other. Salt, pepper, olive

Speaker:

oil, and then I put it in the

Speaker:

oven. Um, 375 for about

Speaker:

eight to nine minutes. Take it off, let it

Speaker:

rest. Bingo, bango bongo.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. See that? Less is more with a steak, isn't it?

Speaker:

>> RB: It's. You don't gotta do anything. Just

Speaker:

literally just sear it two minutes each side.

Speaker:

Boom, put it in, you're done. Put

Speaker:

butter in there, some garlic, some thyme.

Speaker:

And you got so much flavor in that steak.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Like, don't screw it up.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So, you know, we got the,

Speaker:

um. I agree with you, though, real

Speaker:

quick. That's. That's just the way to do it if you're cooking steaks.

Speaker:

But Saturday and Sunday, we had the

Speaker:

privilege, thanks to our dear friend, Mr. Brandon

Speaker:

Katsif, playing Pelican Golf

Speaker:

Club, which is a short jaunt. From his

Speaker:

place. So, 36 on

Speaker:

Saturday, 18 on Sunday.

Speaker:

Now, I was pretty stoked about

Speaker:

my new golf shoes. Okay. I,

Speaker:

uh, I got these shoes. I was on the

Speaker:

Internet, scrolling, and I saw these shoes, or they

Speaker:

reminded me of old skater shoes. Like, if you

Speaker:

guys were into skating, kind of

Speaker:

like an airwalk or. Or DCs,

Speaker:

or something like that. Um, so I like

Speaker:

them G4. And I'm thinking, this is a

Speaker:

great new addition to my shoe collection, which is not a

Speaker:

collection at all. So I buy these

Speaker:

shoes. Now, my buddy here, Mr. Pepe, is

Speaker:

fashion forward all the time with golf. I mean, he's got the

Speaker:

Jordan promo shoes, right? The tag says promo only.

Speaker:

So how do you get those? I don't know. I don't know. I actually

Speaker:

don't know. But my man has them. He's got the

Speaker:

swag, you know, from this guy, that guy, this

Speaker:

guy.

Speaker:

So outfits match shoes, shoes match outfit.

Speaker:

That's just how he rolls. Kind of like JR Hess.

Speaker:

So me, I'm like. I'm pretty neutral, you

Speaker:

know? Um, I'm just chill when it comes to the outfits.

Speaker:

But I was stoked about these shoes.

Speaker:

So I opened up my carry bag as we're getting ready

Speaker:

to go to the golf course, and I pulled my shoes out.

Speaker:

I said, check these out. And he said,

Speaker:

those are pickleball shoes, bud. I said, what are you talking about?

Speaker:

They're pickleball shoes. He said, those aren't golf

Speaker:

shoes. Those are pickleball shoes. I said, no, they're not.

Speaker:

I saw them on G4. They're. They were

Speaker:

advertised. Well, they were advertised

Speaker:

as something. So

Speaker:

apparently I made

Speaker:

the mistake of buying street shoes slash

Speaker:

pickleball athletic shoes for the golf course. But

Speaker:

you know what I said? I said, freak it. I said,

Speaker:

freak it. You know why I'm still wearing them? They're a

Speaker:

little. They were comfy.

Speaker:

>> RB: I can honestly say that I have not had

Speaker:

that, uh, kind of laugh in a long time. He

Speaker:

kind of doubted me. And I'm like, dude, I'm telling you, these are pickleball

Speaker:

shoes. And we went to G4. And under

Speaker:

pickleball, slash lifestyle, there they are.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: There's my M shoes.

Speaker:

>> RB: And if you look at the same edition shoe

Speaker:

in the golf version, it's got little nubs, like little spikes

Speaker:

all over it. Because you're playing golf and you need

Speaker:

to grab the turf.

Speaker:

These don't have any spikes at all. Which you

Speaker:

said that they were fine. But also, we were playing in Florida, where

Speaker:

it's not very hilly and things like that. So you got to take that

Speaker:

into account for later down on the road.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. And I will say I think I bought the wrong size. I think they're

Speaker:

half size too small because by the end of that second

Speaker:

round on Saturday, um, all of

Speaker:

my toes were, like, squished together. And from my

Speaker:

toenails, like, just being

Speaker:

squeezed or squoze, whatever

Speaker:

next to my toes, they just cut the skin off my

Speaker:

toes. And it's not that my toenails are long, it's

Speaker:

just that they were kind of hitting the nail pretty good and just squeezing in

Speaker:

there. But that was, that was some, that was my

Speaker:

mistake. You know something, I was kind of pumped on New

Speaker:

year, new shoes, and, uh,

Speaker:

unfortunately I bought pickleball shoes, but I live that

Speaker:

one down. And honestly, I'll probably still wear them because they

Speaker:

did, they, they felt fine. I mean, I had a couple times I'm in the

Speaker:

bunker. Got nice traction, you

Speaker:

know, I, I don't know.

Speaker:

I mean, BCATs had the watermelons on.

Speaker:

>> RB: He did have the, um, hot pink

Speaker:

with watermelon green, um,

Speaker:

G4s on that. They looked very nice, though.

Speaker:

They are perfect for where he is in life right

Speaker:

now, uh, down there.

Speaker:

So, um, but, man,

Speaker:

what a time at Pelican.

Speaker:

Everything there's top notch. Let's just get that out of the way. The food was

Speaker:

great. Like, dude, that banana pepper,

Speaker:

pepperoni pizza. We

Speaker:

played 36 holes on Saturday,

Speaker:

Pelican. And we moseyed in on

Speaker:

and, uh, ate some pizzas and wings. It was

Speaker:

dynamite. It was so good. It was easy.

Speaker:

Service is good. The people were

Speaker:

great. They treat you like a member, even if you aren't

Speaker:

one. Um, the caddies were great.

Speaker:

The caddies were funny. The course was in great shape.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Caddies are great. Caddies are awesome.

Speaker:

>> RB: Had some great fun, uh, with the money games.

Speaker:

Um, personal level, I

Speaker:

played pretty good on, on Saturday. Uh,

Speaker:

I was proud of the way on the second round, I got four over through four

Speaker:

and got it back. Sunday

Speaker:

was a different story, boys.

Speaker:

Different story, which I cannot believe. You only had me down

Speaker:

one gun in 18, with me shooting a 9

Speaker:

over 44 on the back nine.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I gave it away. I, I,

Speaker:

I struggled immensely on Sunday, you know, just

Speaker:

kind of just not getting through the ball and kind of swaying a little bit

Speaker:

and hitting a lot of things a little heavy and, and whatnot.

Speaker:

But, you know, pep when it matters the most.

Speaker:

I came through.

Speaker:

>> RB: You did. You topped a hybrid out of the bunker.

Speaker:

Got it up and down from about 120 for

Speaker:

par. Um, I naturally

Speaker:

on that back nine, I three whacked it. And, um,

Speaker:

like, literally was putting with my eyes

Speaker:

closed. Everything was going, like, 15ft

Speaker:

by, um.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I can tell you right now with full

Speaker:

certainty, I am

Speaker:

certain. At par four. Opening up the chorus

Speaker:

number one. You got trees kind of lining the left

Speaker:

side, but just beyond the trees are

Speaker:

homes. And somebody must have been having a

Speaker:

birthday party Sunday morning, because There were

Speaker:

probably 12 cars lined up in front of these

Speaker:

houses, just on the streets, in the driveway, in the

Speaker:

yard, everywhere.

Speaker:

So for a guy that swings

Speaker:

the club path left, and sometimes

Speaker:

the face is a little closed, and that cut doesn't

Speaker:

happen, what do you do? You hit it

Speaker:

straight left, Straight. Pool piss

Speaker:

missile. So,

Speaker:

bcats, we already had family emergency going on, teeing

Speaker:

off, uh, on Sunday. I mean, couldn't find

Speaker:

his parents. So we're naturally a little bit worried about that.

Speaker:

Right. Like, legitimately. We're like, what's

Speaker:

going on here?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, you think?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And you

Speaker:

said that so seriously,

Speaker:

you said, I mean, he can't find his parents because. Can't find his

Speaker:

parents right now.

Speaker:

>> RB: I, um, Mean, I was concerned. I mean, how can one play

Speaker:

golf?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I think we were all concerned.

Speaker:

>> RB: How can one enjoy themselves and play golf when.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I know. But the way you said it, it's like. It was like. It's

Speaker:

like saying something similar. Like, you misplace your car keys.

Speaker:

Like you can't find your car keys.

Speaker:

>> RB: No way. Did I whatever mean that?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No, no, no. But I'm just saying, when someone can't

Speaker:

find something, the, uh, the thing you just.

Speaker:

>> RB: The way it sounded.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, the thing you don't expect them not to be able to find are their

Speaker:

parents.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, BCATs we can confirm hit the car.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: We can definitely confirm that he hit the

Speaker:

car.

Speaker:

>> RB: Okay. Because when we were hitting our second shot,

Speaker:

there was a guy out

Speaker:

there on his phone, which

Speaker:

even the Caddy of ours said he looks like he's looking at

Speaker:

damage to a car.

Speaker:

So bcat's got a breakfast ball

Speaker:

as he's walking down the fair. After he hit a second

Speaker:

shot, he gets a phone call.

Speaker:

Yeah, it's his mom. Everything's all right.

Speaker:

Well, so then BCATS rattles off a birdie on one.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Didn't care they hit the car. We told him that.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No.

Speaker:

>> RB: 2, he chips

Speaker:

it in, pull hooks his second shot into a

Speaker:

little bit of, um, pine straw. And

Speaker:

number two is such a hard hole. I think it's the

Speaker:

hardest hole out there. Um, and

Speaker:

B cats. I was right there. I was pin high watching it. He probably

Speaker:

had, like, 70 yards, and he had

Speaker:

a perfect shot and he dunked it in and he started

Speaker:

out.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Birdie, birdie. Spun it back, dude. I mean,

Speaker:

spun it back from the pine straw. And so he goes

Speaker:

200 through 2. Um,

Speaker:

but being the guy that he is, I mean, this is the guy

Speaker:

that sees somebody at the airport and he's like, hey, do you

Speaker:

know, you know this guy? Whatever? And you're like, no,

Speaker:

I've never heard of him. He's like, well, that's him over there. And. And

Speaker:

BKATS gets up and goes and says, hello, how you doing?

Speaker:

Nice. I'm surprised he didn't check on the

Speaker:

car. The guy's outside on the phone with the insurance

Speaker:

company as we were walking, looking at the dents,

Speaker:

looking at the bust, the busted nature of

Speaker:

his vehicle. And,

Speaker:

um, it was not, you

Speaker:

know, it wasn't a worry for him, which

Speaker:

he had bigger worries at the time. So. I get it. I get it.

Speaker:

>> RB: Saw a buddy, uh, uh, a, uh, friend,

Speaker:

um, and Chris McKnight at Pelican, so it was good to see

Speaker:

him. He's. He played in the old Memorial. Member,

Speaker:

Pro. Um,

Speaker:

and then he was on our flight home to la, which, the

Speaker:

flight.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Home, I, I, I'm still not. I get home at

Speaker:

1am I'm still not. I'm still surprised it wasn't

Speaker:

canceled.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, what was there to cancel it? Was it bad heading down through West.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Virginia when we hit West Virginia was bad, but that was

Speaker:

it. But no, it wasn't. You know, you're looking at this monster

Speaker:

storm.

Speaker:

Well, because, partly. Why? Because I wanted to

Speaker:

go play more golf on Monday, that's

Speaker:

why.

Speaker:

>> RB: Where were you going?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, I was gonna mosey on down to Naples and,

Speaker:

uh, talk to some of my old buddies, you know,

Speaker:

from up here, and play a, Play a little place, play a little

Speaker:

calusa. Get it in. All I hear

Speaker:

about is how great Calusa is it. You got to come down and play. You

Speaker:

gotta. Well, I had a chance to go ahead and do it, and I didn't

Speaker:

because I flew home to the blizzard. But it's

Speaker:

definitely, uh, it was a little surprising,

Speaker:

to be honest with you.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, we got home and that was

Speaker:

the best part about all that, so.

Speaker:

And generally, I am the one. Let's get that out there.

Speaker:

I am the one that's antsy to hurry up, get out of there.

Speaker:

Let's go. Let's do this, let's do that. Let's fly home

Speaker:

early. I was kind of chill, bud. You got to

Speaker:

give me that. I would say every once well, hey, we're delayed

Speaker:

again, but I didn't, like, uh, you know.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No, you stayed present, which was one of your goals,

Speaker:

so. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But it was nice to meet Natalie Sheehan at

Speaker:

Pelican Golf Club. Now, she does a lot of stuff at the Golf

Speaker:

Channel. She, uh, actually played on the LPGA

Speaker:

event, um, at

Speaker:

Pelican, and, uh, we caught up with her on the

Speaker:

range. She teaches and does a lot of social media stuff

Speaker:

and. And again, has a show on the Golf Channel. So

Speaker:

we, uh, we invite her on the show

Speaker:

and sounds like she's coming on the show.

Speaker:

So I'm excited for that because I

Speaker:

think hearing someone from. From that type of

Speaker:

world is just what we need to kind of kick off the year a

Speaker:

little bit, you know?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, I think, uh, it'll be cool.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: She's married to the. She's married to the director of golfer. The head pro,

Speaker:

I think.

Speaker:

>> RB: Justin, the head pro down at Pelican.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I got you.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, but, hey, it's gonna

Speaker:

be a good interview. I, um, think we're. We're hammering the

Speaker:

details out with her over the next few days, and

Speaker:

that'll be the next episode. And then we're working on some other cool

Speaker:

things. I know Brady Singer's coming on. Rick

Speaker:

Ankiel. Um, Robbie

Speaker:

Berger says he's coming on. Uh, we've been trying to.

Speaker:

You know, I've been texting back and forth with Robbie trying to get

Speaker:

that hammered down. So we got some exciting new guests this year, and I

Speaker:

think that that is one of our goals this year. Not that

Speaker:

necessarily. If we miss one, we miss one. Give you

Speaker:

better, uh, interviews.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, just better.

Speaker:

>> RB: Just. Yeah, exactly. Instead of just throwing an episode out there,

Speaker:

just to throw one out there, like.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: I'll tell you what, I'm excited for this. The

Speaker:

new title, this ball, the new pro.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That ball comes out. It's.

Speaker:

>> RB: Our order is already in. Um, our boy Eric

Speaker:

Childers is taking care of us from. From Titleist on on

Speaker:

that. Um, and I cannot wait for that. Pro V1. We got

Speaker:

a chance to play a few of the. Those balls last year as the

Speaker:

prototype. Um, and, man, that thing into

Speaker:

the wind does not

Speaker:

falter at all.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

And on that note, with equipment, you know,

Speaker:

we got the GTs in the bag. Titleist new driver. Now, you

Speaker:

got to admit, you have to admit,

Speaker:

and I know I'm not the longest driver, but I

Speaker:

also am not short by any stretch,

Speaker:

but in that round that

Speaker:

we played Saturday afternoon,

Speaker:

and I was hitting that driver extremely

Speaker:

well. I was. I Picked up

Speaker:

distance, I would say.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, like, uh, noticeably.

Speaker:

I mean, there were. There. What?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. So thank you. That's all I wanted to hear you say. Because

Speaker:

I know it, I felt it, I see it a

Speaker:

lot less spinny, um, ten

Speaker:

side, blue shaft, ten degrees,

Speaker:

half inch short.

Speaker:

>> RB: You got the GT3, right? No, I think.

Speaker:

Where'd you get four? No, you got the GT3.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No, I think it's a three.

Speaker:

>> RB: I mean, I don't.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I can't remember. Dude, like, sounds like a Pontiac.

Speaker:

>> RB: It's. He's using the butt

Speaker:

end of a pickle ball as a grip. Big

Speaker:

pickleball guy.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But the first event, um, for

Speaker:

2025, commenced this past

Speaker:

weekend. And Hideki

Speaker:

Matsuyama took it down over there in

Speaker:

Hawaii at Kapalua.

Speaker:

>> RB: I mean, it sounds like you want to take a little trip over there. I was giving you a little

Speaker:

tour of the course. Um, I've been fortunate enough to

Speaker:

play it a couple times, and, um,

Speaker:

I think. I think you would enjoy yourself at Kapalua.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You know what, dude? That's the part of the trip that I.

Speaker:

I forgot about. You and I in a hotel room Thursday night

Speaker:

together and ripping that thing.

Speaker:

Watching Hawaii on tv. You know, it kind

Speaker:

of felt pretty calming.

Speaker:

>> RB: Vitamins.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, it kind of felt pretty calming.

Speaker:

But the, um, new me M. The

Speaker:

guy shot 35 under. Now, I don't care

Speaker:

what golf course you're playing. I don't care if

Speaker:

you're pro, amateur, it doesn't matter. The

Speaker:

point is you.

Speaker:

That. That is a new

Speaker:

PGA Tour record. Apparently, from what, from

Speaker:

what I understand, 35 under in the golf tournament, four day

Speaker:

tournament. And then here's the other

Speaker:

crazy thing. Second place.

Speaker:

Morikawa, my man was

Speaker:

32 under, I believe. So

Speaker:

you're talking about two guys 35,

Speaker:

32 under. And then, you know,

Speaker:

the last third place cat was 29 under.

Speaker:

So you get 35, 32, 29 under

Speaker:

four. Dude, that is insane. Now, I understand the

Speaker:

elevation, and a lot of those par fives are very short, so

Speaker:

they're going to make eagles.

Speaker:

>> RB: Still going to do it though.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So that's the New Year Challenge.

Speaker:

You brought this up at our discussion, and I

Speaker:

think it's worth trying to adhere to,

Speaker:

which is keeping track of your total birdie count through

Speaker:

the year. Total birdie count for the year. It

Speaker:

doesn't matter what your total score of the year. Total

Speaker:

birdie count of the year. Can you. Because the question was,

Speaker:

have you made 35 birdies in a year?

Speaker:

So how many people out there can say they've made

Speaker:

35 birdies in one year of

Speaker:

golf. I mean, I

Speaker:

guess a lot of people can probably,

Speaker:

but, you know, for most.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, we should do it. We should do it. We should just keep a running total

Speaker:

of birdies. Or we can just May versus shooting

Speaker:

birdies, see who makes the most birdies in the year.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Got a birdie challenge from January 1st to

Speaker:

December 31st. How many birdies did you

Speaker:

make in that count?

Speaker:

>> RB: How's that only when we play together? Or is it any

Speaker:

round?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Any round. What's your birdie count

Speaker:

for the year?

Speaker:

>> RB: Okay, bud, look, don't yell at me, all right? I kind of get stupid.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's a good one.

Speaker:

>> RB: I didn't make a birdie in the first two rounds there.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I. I did, um. I didn't make

Speaker:

a birdie. I made one birdie in the final.

Speaker:

>> RB: Round, and I shot 74 with no birdies.

Speaker:

And then I shot 72

Speaker:

with four, and then I had

Speaker:

two on. So I had six birdies. I own. Six

Speaker:

is my account right now.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I guess you could add that in. And. And also I'm going to post

Speaker:

every damn score. I guess you could add.

Speaker:

>> RB: You have to. Now, dude. Like, that's a thing now.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So, yeah, I guess you can post, you know, in your. In

Speaker:

your gin app, your Hole

Speaker:

by hole. Not, I guess you can, but I'm saying you

Speaker:

can. That's a little bit too much work. But that

Speaker:

would be one way to track your birdies. If you're posting every round and

Speaker:

punching in hole by hole scores, which I'm.

Speaker:

>> RB: Not gonna do that, so I'll send over to you. Six

Speaker:

is my start so far.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay, well, I gotta. I.

Speaker:

I can't remember how many birdies I made. I

Speaker:

know. Saturday morning, I had three birdies in that

Speaker:

round. Saturday afternoon at 2,

Speaker:

and I had one on Sunday, so there's six.

Speaker:

>> RB: There you go.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Friday, I don't. Friday, I don't. I have to go through the

Speaker:

round. I made one birdie on Friday, so you're.

Speaker:

>> RB: You're in the lead with someone.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I made one birdie on that short par 4. The pin was on

Speaker:

the front. I made the putt.

Speaker:

>> RB: Awesome. Well, I wish you luck in

Speaker:

that challenge. Um, yeah, I think it'll be fun to see how

Speaker:

many birdies we can make, and then maybe we can see how many rounds we've played, too,

Speaker:

just to see. But,

Speaker:

um, I'm really looking forward to the

Speaker:

chasing birdies. Two, man. This year, it's July 27th to

Speaker:

29th at Nemacolin.

Speaker:

Nemacolan

Speaker:

what do we have to say about that? I mean,

Speaker:

gusto. Gusto. It's pronounced

Speaker:

both ways out of this world.

Speaker:

Um, they. They are knocking out of the park with that

Speaker:

restaurant. Uh, the skiing's ripping now

Speaker:

this, the tubing's ripping the pools open.

Speaker:

There is so much to do in the winter time at Nemocol. Make sure you go to

Speaker:

nemocolin.com, maybe take your lady

Speaker:

there or your man there for

Speaker:

Valentine's Day.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, that's around the corner. Definitely got

Speaker:

to check it out. And then summer will be here.

Speaker:

It's a great spot for that.

Speaker:

This weekend, though, dude, we have to continue our footing,

Speaker:

our football adventure. Um, we did pretty

Speaker:

well this year, but NFL, uh, wildcard

Speaker:

weekend kicks off here on Saturday.

Speaker:

And naturally, the Steelers play Saturday night, which they're gonna

Speaker:

get waxed. There's no two ways about it. They will

Speaker:

get thumped. In my mind when I was like, thinking

Speaker:

what they will be, I figured eight point underdog.

Speaker:

It was all the way up to ten. Now it backed

Speaker:

down to nine and a half. I don't know what it is right now specifically,

Speaker:

but the point is, I don't expect them to win.

Speaker:

They look like they're at their lowest point of

Speaker:

the whole season. They look awful. And

Speaker:

they're by far the worst team in the playoffs right now.

Speaker:

But with that being said, I

Speaker:

will naturally watch and en route and hope,

Speaker:

because that's what we got to do.

Speaker:

>> RB: You got to hope a lot, bud. You better hope a lot because they've lost last

Speaker:

four. If they lose the fifth game in a row to end

Speaker:

this season, that is a complete debacle

Speaker:

in disgrace.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And you got to look at some things, you know, I mean, again, we're

Speaker:

coaching here from the podcast, which doesn't

Speaker:

really count, but. No, but, but the Sony Open

Speaker:

also kicks off in Hawaii. Uh, and

Speaker:

unfortunately, Grayson Murray, who passed away this

Speaker:

year, he won last year, I believe in, in

Speaker:

2024, he won 17 under par

Speaker:

playoff with, um, Keegan

Speaker:

Bradley, I believe. So that kicks off this week,

Speaker:

and I always like it. Well, I, ah, kiss off today. I always like it

Speaker:

because it kind of gives us vitamin D through the television

Speaker:

screen because it's gray and we get to

Speaker:

watch some sun and, uh, talk

Speaker:

about it. So

Speaker:

at any rate, guys,

Speaker:

new year, same us, that's the theme, and

Speaker:

we're gonna ride it out again here in 2025.

Speaker:

And we hope you continue listening to us

Speaker:

talk about whatever a lot of things.

Speaker:

>> RB: Keep chasing, stay chasing, and,

Speaker:

uh, we're looking forward to

Speaker:

2025 with y'all chasing underscore Birdies. Like

Speaker:

it, Love it. Tap it. Tell your friends

Speaker:

you don't like it. Don't tell anybody.

Speaker:

We can't wait to see you the rest of the year.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Guys, we appreciate you tuning in

Speaker:

today's episode of Chasing Birdies.

Speaker:

Thank you to Allie, Emily and Ivo over at Simpler Media for

Speaker:

putting this thing together. Jacqueline de Paterio, Rachel London

Speaker:

for all your help here on Chasing Birdies. And we

Speaker:

look forward to continuing this trend in 2022.

Speaker:

5 With all of you all, and

Speaker:

have a blessed weekend. We will catch you all

Speaker:

in two.
