So this specific text is saying that I pray. So in the Bible, there are specific places where you are being prayed over. So you are being prayed over that you are rooted and established in love. So what does it mean to be rooted and established?
I often use examples of trees in nature. And so when I think about a tree, I'm thinking about where its roots are. If its roots are in soil, then we have one type of tree. If its roots are in sand, like you have in tropical climates, you have sand and a mixture of the sand and maybe some soil, versus if you are in a
place that's very rocky. You see trees that are on the mountains. So what are we rooted in? Are we rooted in fertile, rich soil that has been established in love? Or are we rooted in this mixture of sand and soil or maybe even rocks, right? So we have to
really think about where am I rooted and am I established in love? Are the words of my heart, are the meditations of my mouth coming from a place of love or are they coming from a place of trauma? Are they coming from a place of pain? Because people will often say I'm sharing this truth in love with you and the truth in love that they're sharing with you is something

that is coming from their places of pain and trauma. It's something that you have triggered in them by saying something or doing something that is their unresolved trauma. So we are to each examine ourselves and to ensure that we are rooted and established in love because when people share their truth in love with us,
If we're not established in love, then we'll take offense to what they're saying. We will.

come back at them because a lot of times when somebody says they're sharing the truth in love, it is a conversation that is not an easy conversation. It is a difficult conversation. But that next verse says, when we are rooted in establishing love, we'll have the power together with the Lord's holy people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.
How wide, how long, how high, how deep is Christ's love?
It's bigger, it's wider than anything that we could ever think, ask or imagine. And that is why if once we are rooted and established in love, we can receive Christ's love, His undeniable, immeasurable, unthinkable love.
and this love surpasses knowledge. So sometimes we are loving God when the world seat looks at us and says, how are you doing this? How are you still so faithful and loving God when it seems like your life is crashing around you? It's because our roots are established in love.
So this particular text gives us a few takeaways. The first one is be rooted and established in love for yourself. The second one is ensure that your community of faith is rooted and established in love. That when they are sharing difficult things with you, that it is not coming from their trauma or their place of lack.

And so because it is their trauma that they are working through, they're not pushing that on you. Surround yourself with people that are also rooted in love. So together you guys can experience how far, how deep, how wide, how long Christ's love is for us.
