[Theme Song]
Chelsey Donn:Hello,
Trey Gerrald:hi and Hello, listeners.
Trey Gerrald:Welcome to Review That.
Trey Gerrald:Review the podcast dedicated to reviewing
Chelsey Donn:Reviews!
Chelsey Donn:those We're just like Siskel and Ebert only instead of reviewing cinematic, masterpieces,
Trey Gerrald:that's Chelsey, Donn,
Chelsey Donn:And that's TreyGerrald
Trey Gerrald:and together we are.
VOICEOVER:The Review Queens!
Trey Gerrald:And if you want to support the Review!
Trey Gerrald:Queens and our show while getting exclusive content, including our special members,
Trey Gerrald:Chelsey, holy cannoli.
Trey Gerrald:It's a big week girl.
Trey Gerrald:Passover starts on Friday, and then we have Easter Sunday.
Trey Gerrald:How's your week going?
Trey Gerrald:How are your plans?
Trey Gerrald:What's going on?
Chelsey Donn:just throwing away all the bread, you know, gotta get, gotta get ready.
Trey Gerrald:Got to lock up the bread cabinet.
Chelsey Donn:Don't don't want to have any temptations around, so good.
Chelsey Donn:Excuse to get rid of all the carbs, I guess.
Trey Gerrald:Exactly.
Trey Gerrald:You're um, getting ready for Passover by throwing out bread and I'm getting ready for Easter by
Trey Gerrald:That's sacrilegious.
Trey Gerrald:I can't keep that in
Chelsey Donn:Ah, and you're getting ready for Easter by.
Trey Gerrald:painting my egg.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah.
Chelsey Donn:I always really wanted to buy one of those like egg spinner thingies, where
Chelsey Donn:It's like the spinny thing and the egg goes in the center of it, and
Chelsey Donn:And it forms like a perfect circle around the egg.
Trey Gerrald:have you ever seen those, Um, their new contraptions, you like their
Chelsey Donn:I have seen my friends.
Chelsey Donn:Staff is a big fan of this device.
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:people are say, it's amazing.
Chelsey Donn:I think she got it as a gift because she would always bring hard-boiled eggs to work.
Chelsey Donn:so one of her coworkers was like, Steph really likes hard boiled eggs, better buy or this.
Chelsey Donn:And it's like changed her life.
Trey Gerrald:that's so nice.
Chelsey Donn:it.
Chelsey Donn:Apparently I was, I don't know where I saw this recently, but you can
Trey Gerrald:Oh, I've heard that?
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:Airfares are amazing.
Trey Gerrald:I still don't have one.
Trey Gerrald:I need to get
Trey Gerrald:one.
Chelsey Donn:like a magic box that just makes your food, I guess
Trey Gerrald:We truly are living in the, instead of Rosie it's Siri
Trey Gerrald:and
Chelsey Donn:Exactly.
Chelsey Donn:I mean, they definitely, they knew things that, and then that movie, oh God, that
Trey Gerrald:Xenon girl, of the future.
Chelsey Donn:We're like they had a lot of like FaceTime stuff happening.
Trey Gerrald:I remember watching the Jetsons as a kid and being like, how is
Trey Gerrald:mean, it literally blew my mind.
Trey Gerrald:And I remember thinking about
Trey Gerrald:really like thinking, wow, if that ever happens, that would be crazy.
Trey Gerrald:How would that possibly happen?
Chelsey Donn:Yeah.
Chelsey Donn:And now it's real life.
Chelsey Donn:They knew things.
Trey Gerrald:And now you and I are on opposite coasts doing a podcast,
Chelsey Donn:It's true.
Trey Gerrald:each other.
Chelsey Donn:It's just so many things like that with television, where they predict
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:That is so weird.
Chelsey Donn:It is strange.
Chelsey Donn:Are we feeling complaining today?
Trey Gerrald:yeah, let's get into some complaints.
Trey Gerrald:Chelsey, is there anything that you need to
VOICEOVER:Lodge A Complaint.
Trey Gerrald:about today?
Chelsey Donn:there is always, I want to take it back to the shower.
Chelsey Donn:I know we were there a few weeks ago and I want to go by.
Chelsey Donn:want to talk about just inconsistent temperatures in the shower.
Chelsey Donn:Have we discussed
Trey Gerrald:Oh, no, but
Trey Gerrald:GO!.
Chelsey Donn:Okay.
Chelsey Donn:It's just like very confusing to me.
Chelsey Donn:When I take a shower regularly, always have the same method, certain amount
Chelsey Donn:Like I know my recipe I've been living in the same place for a long time.
Trey Gerrald:Do you have one handle or do you have a hot and a cold handle?
Chelsey Donn:I have a hot and cold.
Chelsey Donn:I have two different handles.
Chelsey Donn:I know, like I turned my hot all the way up and then I turned my cold to
Chelsey Donn:And sometimes.
Chelsey Donn:Something goes awry.
Chelsey Donn:I don't really know what causes it.
Chelsey Donn:I don't know if it's laundry.
Chelsey Donn:I don't know if it's one of my housemates using the shower.
Chelsey Donn:I really don't know what it is, but something happens where all of a sudden I got to
Chelsey Donn:And then all of a sudden the shower is burning hot and then freezing cold and then burning hot.
Chelsey Donn:And why, why does, why, why does this keep happening?
Trey Gerrald:I have a bathtub and I am obsessed with taking baths and I think our house just needs
Trey Gerrald:And it's really frustrating.
Chelsey Donn:Oh, you use up all the hot water if you're going fill up at the top.
Trey Gerrald:But just in that one pipeline because of
Trey Gerrald:the shower, because it's two separate things.
Trey Gerrald:It's not like a combo, the shower never loses hot water and our sink can never lose hot water.
Trey Gerrald:Like, it's very weird.
Trey Gerrald:It's just the bathtub, but okay.
Trey Gerrald:Anyway, I'm sort of off track here, but I recognize, I don't know what that is.
Trey Gerrald:I don't know if it is a water heater situation.
Trey Gerrald:I don't know if it's like the piping situation, but that is very frustrating
Chelsey Donn:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:it's just very inconsistent.
Chelsey Donn:And there's no way to fix it.
Chelsey Donn:It's like you're trying to fix something that is just, it's completely gone.
Chelsey Donn:Rogue.
Chelsey Donn:The captain has left the building.
Chelsey Donn:There's no equilibrium.
Chelsey Donn:That's going to be mad.
Chelsey Donn:It's done.
Chelsey Donn:Like, you know, it's done and you're already soapy.
Chelsey Donn:You have soap in your hair
Trey Gerrald:I remember in acting school.
Trey Gerrald:One of our professors told us the story about memory recall, but there was some
Trey Gerrald:I think it was a German actor
Trey Gerrald:who,
Chelsey Donn:as.
Trey Gerrald:Who is in some film where they die by suicide by shooting a gun
Trey Gerrald:Like, how did you do that?
Trey Gerrald:And they told the story about when they were in drama school, they were
Trey Gerrald:Hot water.
Trey Gerrald:And so every morning there was this one moment where he would have to like center
Trey Gerrald:And that was what he recalled for the scene when he had to like pull the trigger.
Trey Gerrald:And for whatever reason, that one story has lived with me.
Trey Gerrald:So hardcore.
Trey Gerrald:Anytime the hot water goes away.
Trey Gerrald:I think of that actor.
Trey Gerrald:I don't know the movie.
Trey Gerrald:I don't know the actor.
Trey Gerrald:I don't know anything, but I just that memory of like,
Trey Gerrald:oh,
Chelsey Donn:was the performance of success.
Trey Gerrald:I think so.
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:Very renowned thing that I don't know.
Chelsey Donn:Ah, oh man.
Trey Gerrald:Well, great complaint.
Trey Gerrald:I
Trey Gerrald:definitely hear you.
Trey Gerrald:wild.
Trey Gerrald:So.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah.
Chelsey Donn:What about you?
Chelsey Donn:Give us a complaint, lay it on us.
Chelsey Donn:Trey.
Trey Gerrald:Okay.
Trey Gerrald:Today, I would like to lodge a complaint against people using the speaker phone
Trey Gerrald:I hate
Trey Gerrald:it someone is on a call
Trey Gerrald:they're in place and they're talking on the speaker phone, or if they're
Trey Gerrald:So they're just blaring it on a speaker that is so rude.
Trey Gerrald:I don't want to listen to your phone call.
Trey Gerrald:I don't want to listen to your music unless you're playing their original cast recording
Trey Gerrald:So it's annoying to me why we have headphones.
Trey Gerrald:That's it's a device that exists.
Trey Gerrald:I recognize like maybe you forgot them.
Trey Gerrald:Well then why don't you hold the phone up to your ear?
Trey Gerrald:Like you hold a phone up to your ear.
Trey Gerrald:Why do you think that people want to hear it?
Trey Gerrald:All of that.
Trey Gerrald:Have you ever encountered that?
Chelsey Donn:Completely agree.
Chelsey Donn:Like I just don't understand why anyone would ever think that unless you're on a reality show where
Chelsey Donn:There is zero reason to have your phone on speaker.
Chelsey Donn:It's similar to being on an airplane.
Chelsey Donn:And having somebody just play something rogue.
Chelsey Donn:Now I understand the temptation because I'd been on a plane before where my headphones, all of a
Chelsey Donn:And like, whatever, like, you just want to go for it, but I don't.
Chelsey Donn:Cause I'm just like, that's so.
Chelsey Donn:Rude and presumptive to assume that somebody else, once they hear your
Chelsey Donn:I don't know.
Chelsey Donn:There've been so many situations where I've personally like been listening to
Chelsey Donn:And I just have to turn it off.
Chelsey Donn:Even if it like makes me feel a little bit like, oh, I have to remember to go back to that later.
Chelsey Donn:Turn it off.
Chelsey Donn:If you don't have that.
Trey Gerrald:I think that is what it is for me, because I'm so aware of how I'm being perceived.
Trey Gerrald:From growing up gay in the south.
Trey Gerrald:that.
Trey Gerrald:that is what is so baffling to me that people can just be fully unaware
Trey Gerrald:Um, so extremely aware of it.
Trey Gerrald:That that is what is so baffling to me.
Trey Gerrald:I understand if you're like a 75 year old and you're like at Walmart and
Trey Gerrald:but if 20 year old and you're like blaring music, it's like, you know what AirPods are.
Chelsey Donn:You've heard of them, right?
Trey Gerrald:Well, I do feel cleansed and happy and I'm so glad that we have this opportunity to
Trey Gerrald:get all of these catches out so that
Trey Gerrald:we can clean and clear
Trey Gerrald:as we jump into other people's complaints.
Trey Gerrald:Are you ready?
Trey Gerrald:Chelsey?
Trey Gerrald:Should we get into some online reviews?
Chelsey Donn:shut.
Chelsey Donn:And we can also be clean and clear for the upcoming holidays.
Trey Gerrald:Yes.
Trey Gerrald:thought and I.
Chelsey Donn:Yes.
Chelsey Donn:All right, let's do it.
Chelsey Donn:As you know, we are your trustee Review!
Chelsey Donn:Queens.
Chelsey Donn:We each bring in a review from the internet that we feel needs to be inspected.
Trey Gerrald:We read you the Review!
Trey Gerrald:break it down and then rate the impact of the review on a scale from zero to five
VOICEOVER:Assess That Kvetch.
Chelsey Donn:And you're first to the party today.
Trey Gerrald:Ooh.
Trey Gerrald:And I brought brownies too.
Chelsey Donn:Ooh, take it away, RQT.
Chelsey Donn:QT.
VOICEOVER:Review That Review.
Trey Gerrald:Okie dokie and honor of this holy week I have today, a one star
Trey Gerrald:So Maxine's subject is zero stars.
Trey Gerrald:If that was an option,
Chelsey Donn:Okay.
Trey Gerrald:you know, we love that.
Trey Gerrald:And, uh, it's a verified purchase and this is Maxine's one-star Amazon review for
Trey Gerrald:Two issues.
Trey Gerrald:Hence the low score.
One:WAY overpriced!
One:$5?!
One:Seriously?
One:These are 12 bunnies with a total weight of 3.38 ounces!
One:Tiny little guys.
One:I think they sell at a Target or Walmart for WAY under $2.
One:MY bad for purchasing them and not reading all info.
One:Like I normally do.
One:I bought two for $10 of net product weight of 6.78.
One:So doing the math, a pound of these things are over $20?!
One:Ridiculous!
Two:they are basically marshmallows shaped, like bunnies, dyed, bright,
Two:A LOT of sugar!
Two:Extremely over the top sweet.
Two:Think taking a regular marshmallow, dampen it a little and coat it in as much sugar
Two:Horrible.
Two:You could get the same effect by putting two large marshmallows in your mouth.
Two:Add a couple tablespoons of regular sugar in a shot glass and swallowing it.
Two:If for some reason you want these peeps, go to any store, grocery target, et cetera.
Two:And I guarantee you, they are not going to be over $2 a box, probably
Chelsey Donn:How did Maxine spell reg LAR that we got that reading.
Trey Gerrald:R E G I L a R.
Chelsey Donn:Oh, wow.
Chelsey Donn:Regular.
Trey Gerrald:So I just want you to know that two people found this helpful.
Trey Gerrald:For inflation reasons.
Trey Gerrald:This was written March 9th, 2015,
Trey Gerrald:and today the day of recording, I just did a little perusing.
Trey Gerrald:And if you go to target.com
Trey Gerrald:peeps Easter blue, Bunny's 4.5 ounces.
Trey Gerrald:12 count is $2 and 19
Trey Gerrald:cents.
Trey Gerrald:If you go to CVS today at the time of recording.
Trey Gerrald:Peeps yellow, marshmallow bunnies, Easter candy APS two 19.
Chelsey Donn:Okay.
Chelsey Donn:All
Trey Gerrald:So it's All $2 and 19 cents.
Chelsey Donn:So Maxine does have a point regarding the price.
Chelsey Donn:I'll give her that.
Chelsey Donn:I guess the part of the Review!
Chelsey Donn:where I got a little bit confused.
Trey Gerrald:Is it the math talk?
Chelsey Donn:Well, first of all, the math, the math was just like extra, so great.
Chelsey Donn:Like again, Maxine's giving me very teacher vibes, right.
Chelsey Donn:Or teacher vibes, or like on some sort of extreme diet or like on and off of
Trey Gerrald:I was going to say a food scale.
Chelsey Donn:Right because wow.
Chelsey Donn:Like, or maybe they're like a candle maker.
Chelsey Donn:I don't know.
Chelsey Donn:They like clearly do something where they regularly, there are chem chemistry teacher.
Chelsey Donn:They do something where they regularly have to measure things,
Chelsey Donn:But the part of the Review!
Chelsey Donn:that I'm kind of like, Hmm, not so sure about is when we get into the
Trey Gerrald:Yeah, I want to ask you, have you ever had a peep?
Chelsey Donn:had a peep and I don't, I don't like peeps.
Chelsey Donn:They are sugary marshmallows.
Chelsey Donn:Right.
Trey Gerrald:correct.
Chelsey Donn:But doesn't everybody that's buying a peep know that it's a sugary, marshmallow.
Chelsey Donn:Does anyone need to be told by Maxine?
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:Good question.
Trey Gerrald:if you are a Christian and the United States of America, if you don't know what
Trey Gerrald:And therefore do not have an account on Amazon to
Trey Gerrald:read Maxine's description.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah.
Chelsey Donn:Even if there was a sense of humor in there and it was like, obviously
Chelsey Donn:It's basically two marshmallows and like a pound of sugar, like then I would have been like, okay.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah, yeah.
Chelsey Donn:But the vet that Maxine was like, let me take you through the process
Trey Gerrald:Right.
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:It's a whole paragraph about their description.
Trey Gerrald:of peeps, right?
Chelsey Donn:Which like I get it or do it due diligence.
Chelsey Donn:Usually that would be a plus.
Chelsey Donn:But in this situation on Amazon, I just don't buy it.
Chelsey Donn:That somebody is going to go there and need Maxine's description.
Trey Gerrald:Okay.
Trey Gerrald:I guess I can sort of separate Maxine is saying, okay, there's two issues
Trey Gerrald:here.
Trey Gerrald:horribly overpriced, and then it doesn't taste good,
Trey Gerrald:but I feel like they're really saying like, it's just marshmallows that are dampened with sugar.
Trey Gerrald:So why are you paying so much, like.
Trey Gerrald:Even seem like it's two issues.
Trey Gerrald:It seems like, further evidence for the first issue that it's too expensive,
Trey Gerrald:because you're saying like, why are you paying $5 for a wet marshmallow that has sugar on it?
Trey Gerrald:You know, it's,
Chelsey Donn:But it's if you felt so averse to the product and why did
Chelsey Donn:Like clearly you knew what you were getting into.
Trey Gerrald:Well, I do feel like part of Amazon is the convenience.
Trey Gerrald:Like,
Trey Gerrald:so
Chelsey Donn:why I'm saying like, I, I think like if I was like, oh shoot,
Chelsey Donn:And you know, I need to get peeps or my kids when they get home from school.
Chelsey Donn:Cause all their friends are going to have peeps and I don't want to be the mom without the
Chelsey Donn:Then I'm going to go on Amazon and buy them.
Chelsey Donn:I do think it is out of control the price gouging.
Chelsey Donn:I will give Maxine that, like, I really think Amazon should be doing something to regulate
Chelsey Donn:Like I do think that that is ridiculous.
Chelsey Donn:And I hear Maxine there.
Trey Gerrald:But I, in my mind, like I do feel like we always had peeps in our
Trey Gerrald:So it does sort of feel like a staple.
Trey Gerrald:So the price gouging, which does show up in a lot of reviews, I
Trey Gerrald:found Amazon people are really outraged by the price.
Trey Gerrald:But I do also think like this is a company that has a product that
Trey Gerrald:They obviously have branched out and they have lines of things,
Trey Gerrald:but it like, this is an Easter product.
Trey Gerrald:So I sort of give it a pass that it's like, Okay.
Trey Gerrald:well, if they can only sell it this time of year.
Trey Gerrald:But I also think if you just, I do think of you just buying it in the checkout line at CVS.
Trey Gerrald:Like it's like candy canes.
Trey Gerrald:Like you're just going to buy them at a grocery store or something.
Trey Gerrald:But,
Trey Gerrald:uh, I
Chelsey Donn:I mean, I don't know if I want to like, feel so bad for the peeps
Chelsey Donn:That makes peeps
Trey Gerrald:must be.
Trey Gerrald:I'm sure that someone has purchased it by this point.
Chelsey Donn:exactly.
Trey Gerrald:Something about Maxine declaring that they are serving.
Trey Gerrald:How much a box is supposed to be elsewhere.
Trey Gerrald:And then at the end they're like, I'm pretty sure it's 25 cents cheaper
Trey Gerrald:than what I'm saying.
Trey Gerrald:Just all of that feels a little shady.
Trey Gerrald:Like, I mean, I think I trust, I don't know.
Trey Gerrald:I am split about Maxine, but ultimately it feels a little like, why are you so mad about this?
Chelsey Donn:Well, I know I, Maxine is mad.
Chelsey Donn:I like, I just think that based on the Review!
Chelsey Donn:the actual narrative is that Maxine went on in a hurry, ordered some peeps,
Chelsey Donn:had them Dilla had them deliver, you know, order them.
Chelsey Donn:Didn't bother to look at the.
Chelsey Donn:Was then like going through her Amazon purchases saw how much she paid and was like,
Chelsey Donn:Review!
Chelsey Donn:I'm sorry.
Chelsey Donn:There is a little bit of responsibility here to Maxine now, whereas where's the value.
Chelsey Donn:I guess if I was somebody else that was going to go buy this product and I hadn't looked at
Chelsey Donn:I might then be like, oh, shoot.
Chelsey Donn:She's right.
Chelsey Donn:I'm not going to pay that much for this when I can get it CVS,
Trey Gerrald:I hear
Chelsey Donn:you know,
Trey Gerrald:yeah, I that's actually true.
Chelsey Donn:there is value there.
Chelsey Donn:But I think that the passion that's coming from from Maxine is really because
Trey Gerrald:By their, um, schedule all ya.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah, by like not paying attention.
Chelsey Donn:It was like, this was the hard lesson that Maxine had to learn about.
Chelsey Donn:Just assuming that it product like peeps has a universal price and not bothering
Trey Gerrald:Right.
Trey Gerrald:Do you think that this would be a deal breaker for you?
Chelsey Donn:No, and I don't think it'll be a deal breaker for anybody looking at this.
Chelsey Donn:I think that again, a normal person would look at the price.
Chelsey Donn:So if it was going to be a deal breaker for them, they were just look at the product page,
Chelsey Donn:Like, I don't anybody is on the fence.
Chelsey Donn:Going to Amazon looking for peeps in the first place, and then going to look in the
Chelsey Donn:I mean, like you said, there were people that said it was useful, so maybe we're wrong.
Trey Gerrald:two people.
Trey Gerrald:And this was written in 2015.
Chelsey Donn:Okay.
Chelsey Donn:All right.
Chelsey Donn:But that's still like a couple people had to go and like tick that box for Maxine,
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:I mean the spelling and grammar is pretty great here.
Trey Gerrald:Other than that
Chelsey Donn:other than
Trey Gerrald:regular.
Trey Gerrald:And every time it is interesting.
Trey Gerrald:Every time they have the word bunnies, it's a capital B.
Chelsey Donn:the CA they're talking about capital B bunnies here.
Chelsey Donn:Okay.
Trey Gerrald:I feel like I could crown this.
Trey Gerrald:How are you feeling?
Chelsey Donn:I think I can crown Maxine.
Trey Gerrald:Okay.
Trey Gerrald:So Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards in an effort
Trey Gerrald:We will simultaneously reveal our rating.
VOICEOVER:The Queens are Tabulating.
Chelsey Donn:Okay, I'm holding up one and a half crowns.
Chelsey Donn:Trey is holding up two crowns.
Chelsey Donn:one and a half crowns just because I agree with Maxine price is outrageous.
Chelsey Donn:And I don't think we should be charging this much for a product like this.
Chelsey Donn:But other than that, all the points they made during the breaking down of the Review!
Chelsey Donn:still stand.
Chelsey Donn:And I don't know how valuable this review is.
Chelsey Donn:So that's why I gave Maxine one and a half crowns.
Chelsey Donn:Why two crowns from you?
Trey Gerrald:I almost did one and a half and I changed the last second, but I did
Trey Gerrald:I just think like
Trey Gerrald:they did a
Chelsey Donn:the scales.
Trey Gerrald:at tips, the ounces here for me with the crown, I don't care about your description of
Trey Gerrald:but I do think the M ounces per pound per dollar is an interesting point.
Trey Gerrald:But ultimately if I'm going to buy peeps, I don't care about like Maxine's
Trey Gerrald:So that's why I said Two,.
Chelsey Donn:Okay.
Chelsey Donn:Fair fair.
Trey Gerrald:All right.
Trey Gerrald:Well, let's take a quick break.
Trey Gerrald:And when we come back, we can get into Chelsey's Review!
Chelsey Donn:When we come back, we're going to get a little peep into my Review!
Trey Gerrald:ah, Ooh,
Chelsey Donn:love that BRB.
Trey Gerrald:Shalom.
VOICEOVER:Hold your crown.
VOICEOVER:We'll be right back.
Trey Gerrald:It's game time.
Trey Gerrald:Chelsey.
Trey Gerrald:Why don't we just jump on and take a quick spin on the Meryl-Go-Round honey.
Trey Gerrald:' VOICEOVER: I don't feel like an icon.
Trey Gerrald:Most of the days, I feel like 'I can't!' That's with an, A'..
Chelsey Donn:All right.
Chelsey Donn:Here's the deal.
Chelsey Donn:Trey and I have each picked a rotten scathing, pithy One-Star-Zinger and with 30 seconds on
Trey Gerrald:Just like queen Meryl, who does it all.
Chelsey Donn:before the clock runs out.
Trey Gerrald:Okay.
Trey Gerrald:Now, Chels, what is your One-Star-Zinger?
Chelsey Donn:So my One-Star-Zinger is from Amazon.
Chelsey Donn:It is a one-star review of the Lindt chocolate carrots for 1.9 ounces.
Chelsey Donn:This review is written by Vera L F.
Chelsey Donn:And the subject of the Review!
Chelsey Donn:is expensive.
Chelsey Donn:And the Review!
Chelsey Donn:is.
Chelsey Donn:Very small amount for the prices.
Chelsey Donn:And
Trey Gerrald:Vera had to go.
Chelsey Donn:I had a gal.
Trey Gerrald:I do think of lent as like a gourmet chocolate, so,
Trey Gerrald:whatever, whatever.
Trey Gerrald:Okay.
Trey Gerrald:All right, Chelsey, I'm going to strap you in
Trey Gerrald:to a free arrow Rochet.

Trey Gerrald:is written by all caps, a F R F, and their subject is all caps salty.
Trey Gerrald:And the zinger is this product is very salty for my palette.
Chelsey Donn:Um, Fair enough.
Chelsey Donn:All right.
Chelsey Donn:I'm going to strap you into a monster ball, but not just any monster ball, you
Chelsey Donn:That's the kind of MATSOL you're stopped into.
Chelsey Donn:I hate those kinds, but that's what you're stopped into.
Trey Gerrald:I'm just going to roll around and it's my salty Motsa ball now.

Trey Gerrald:That means you're the winner
Chelsey Donn:winner.
Chelsey Donn:I'm the Passover winner.

VOICEOVER:Review That Review
Trey Gerrald:All right, Queens.
Trey Gerrald:We are back from That rousing game break.
Trey Gerrald:And it is your turn Chelsey.
Trey Gerrald:Where is your Review.
Trey Gerrald:from this week?
Chelsey Donn:So my Review!
Chelsey Donn:is also from Amazon this week.
Chelsey Donn:It's rich soil.
Chelsey Donn:So this is actually a three-star review for a 30 minute Seder.
Chelsey Donn:The Hagada that blends brevity with tradition, paperback, September 29th, 2007.
Trey Gerrald:I think that that definitely qualifies.
VOICEOVER:Supercalifragilistic XB.
Chelsey Donn:It's written by, uh, Robert Cottman.
Chelsey Donn:Just if anyone's wondering, and it's illustrated by bill Yana.
Chelsey Donn:So this Review!
Chelsey Donn:is a three-star review written by JS.
Chelsey Donn:The subject is felt rushed and stressed.
Chelsey Donn:Doesn't do honor to the wonder of the Passover story.
Trey Gerrald:Like a fault.
Chelsey Donn:Here we go.
Chelsey Donn:This year, we ordered a bunch of different Hagada in search of a
Chelsey Donn:Initially we liked this one, its thinness was appealing.
Chelsey Donn:The pages are bright and colorful and extremely visually engaging.
Chelsey Donn:And it didn't include all the extraneous texts that makes Seders feel so insanely long.
Chelsey Donn:But when we really sat down.
Chelsey Donn:And went through it page by page.
Chelsey Donn:We just felt rushed and harried.
Chelsey Donn:The pages that at first were so visually engaging now felt like they were trying
Chelsey Donn:Some details or readings we like we're too condensed or omitted entirely.
Chelsey Donn:There's virtually no Hebrew.
Chelsey Donn:And the book opens like an English book rather than a Hebrew book.
Chelsey Donn:The pictures and illustrations all felt very slick and modern, but we didn't feel anything historical
Chelsey Donn:It made us feel like the entire purpose of this book was to get through the formality of the
Trey Gerrald:Hmm.
Trey Gerrald:Wow.
Trey Gerrald:That feels a little, I went on a little roller coaster
Chelsey Donn:me too.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:'cause I think that the last sentence is seemingly
Trey Gerrald:which at, so at the beginning of the Review!
Trey Gerrald:I was sort of like, well, duh, but then when you do break down, like, what is
Trey Gerrald:Like, maybe it isn't something that should be rushed.
Trey Gerrald:I've actually never considered that.
Trey Gerrald:Cause as a, someone who was not Jewish, but does celebrate high holidays, it is Very.
Trey Gerrald:long.
Trey Gerrald:And as someone who had never heard Hebrew and then suddenly was at a Passover Seder,
Trey Gerrald:what, this is another language.
Trey Gerrald:What,
Trey Gerrald:you know, it like.
Trey Gerrald:I don't know what's happening, you know, so I would imagine some of the first
Trey Gerrald:Right?
Trey Gerrald:I mean, their point
Chelsey Donn:like, I don't know what's included, but it's like, we need a diary new moment.
Chelsey Donn:Certainly, you
Chelsey Donn:know?
Chelsey Donn:We, yeah, we need to, we need the questions.
Chelsey Donn:Mohnish I mean, like if we don't have that, which I don't know, maybe, maybe it is there, but
Trey Gerrald:Do you think they just do like one of the plagues instead of all of them?
Chelsey Donn:yeah.
Chelsey Donn:I don't know.
Chelsey Donn:I wonder, like, what is lost in the brevity of all this?
Chelsey Donn:I do think it's like, like a funny thing that the Maxwell house version of the Hagada like
Trey Gerrald:Yeah, I was going to say it's that your family is too.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah, for sure.
Chelsey Donn:I mean like any traditional theater I've ever gone to at someone's house, we always
Chelsey Donn:So I understand that, like, this is a, a departure for JS, you know, so I
Trey Gerrald:The whole point is
Chelsey Donn:Exactly.
Chelsey Donn:I think what's kind of interesting and what's making me respect JS a little bit
Trey Gerrald:that was my point.
Trey Gerrald:Yes.
Trey Gerrald:I was
Chelsey Donn:you know, because at the end of the day, the word brevity is in the title.
Chelsey Donn:So I think that the point of the survey view is if you want brevity in a sense you are
Trey Gerrald:I also have a question about the very first or second sentence.
Trey Gerrald:They say the plural form of Hagada
Chelsey Donn:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:as Hagada, it's not Haggadahs.
Chelsey Donn:maybe actually I might've read it wrong.
Chelsey Donn:It says, I don't know.
Chelsey Donn:I'm like, how do you spell Hagada it says hug a dote.
Chelsey Donn:Maybe, that's the
Chelsey Donn:plural.
Trey Gerrald:It's like, um, bar mitzvah notes.
Chelsey Donn:exactly.
Trey Gerrald:I thought it was funny to use the word harried.
Chelsey Donn:Yes, me too.
Trey Gerrald:How well do you think JS is?
Chelsey Donn:Probably like around my parents' age, if I had to guess,
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Chelsey Donn:fifties, sixties.
Trey Gerrald:I was thinking maybe like, um, fifties,
Trey Gerrald:but, like how I feel like maybe they are suddenly the head of the household,
Trey Gerrald:now they're the ones that are in charge.
Trey Gerrald:And so they're trying to figure out like what's best for their family.
Trey Gerrald:And then in this process of getting multiple Hagada outs, they like have realized, Okay.
Trey Gerrald:it's not this.
Trey Gerrald:Because just skip everything.
Trey Gerrald:But I think why I appreciate the three-star here is because it is like the title.
Trey Gerrald:It is like, of course they have to cut stuff if you're a making it 30 minutes, like,
Trey Gerrald:you know, and if you're not tailoring your own 30 minute Hagada then like
Trey Gerrald:So it kind of inspires me to think like, oh, maybe we could do our own trim to version.
Chelsey Donn:Right.
Chelsey Donn:I was personally triggered and I don't think it was intentional by the
Chelsey Donn:I just want to point that out for my own personal bias.
Chelsey Donn:When I read that, I was like, why the NIS appealing?
Chelsey Donn:It's not just a thing.
Chelsey Donn:I also really liked that JS did bring up that they ordered a bunch of different Haga
Chelsey Donn:you know, skip ahead and just get this one instead.
Chelsey Donn:So I appreciated that Jay has really kept his Review!
Chelsey Donn:centered around this particular attack.
Trey Gerrald:right.
Trey Gerrald:I know.
Trey Gerrald:I agree as well.
Trey Gerrald:What's the spelling and grammar like.
Chelsey Donn:Really good.
Chelsey Donn:I don't think I heard any errors.
Trey Gerrald:I do feel like I don't think it's a valuable, our new or unique information that
Trey Gerrald:Which like, I, there is an emotional Polce to this Review!
Trey Gerrald:so like, it's a very intriguing to me, J a.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah, I think that there is a lot of value here.
Chelsey Donn:I liked that JS continually pointed out that it was visually engaging,
Chelsey Donn:but I think the biggest complaint overall with both the text and that comment about the
Chelsey Donn:So I feel like there's a lot of information that JS has giving us that would make
Chelsey Donn:cause there are some people who are like, I have little kids, you know, I want this to be
Chelsey Donn:And I know that a lot of people are going to be at this Seder that really don't know Hebrew.
Chelsey Donn:And we want them to feel like they're included and they can follow along.
Chelsey Donn:If that were my intention and I read JS is Review!
Chelsey Donn:I would go ahead and buy the product.
Chelsey Donn:You know what I mean?
Chelsey Donn:So I feel like the information that JS is giving us really helps to weave out like, well, you're
Chelsey Donn:So
Trey Gerrald:what that means.
Chelsey Donn:consider what that means.
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:I mean, I do think it is arming me with a lot of information because if I wanted to
Trey Gerrald:the that I feel like are missing, this is really valuable to know, like,
Trey Gerrald:but I would love to just sort of introduce a little bit of one of the
Trey Gerrald:question and offer your own contrary opinion
Trey Gerrald:and something that is striking me is that similar.
Trey Gerrald:The Hanukkah, daddy, Christmas mama book so much.
Trey Gerrald:And rightfully so.
Trey Gerrald:If Judaism is a fear of loss of existence and a tradition, I that comes up a lot of
Trey Gerrald:You know, like
Trey Gerrald:people lot of thoughts
Trey Gerrald:and I just would love to offer here as a non-Jewish.
Trey Gerrald:That maybe you don't have to hold Passover to the responsibility of keeping tradition.
Trey Gerrald:Like if we hold every single thing accountable for that, then maybe we are missing something
Trey Gerrald:I think, I even agree with this point, but I just think that we're so concerned about what
Trey Gerrald:Um, but I'm just going to cut all this cause I don't even think it's valuable saying, but
Chelsey Donn:No, but.
Trey Gerrald:appreciate it.
Chelsey Donn:I was going to say, I think there is a point there because, you know,
Chelsey Donn:And one of the things that was so great about it is that we did Mary and some of the traditions.
Chelsey Donn:So it's.
Chelsey Donn:Omitting and this way, but because the teachings were able to be delivered in a
Chelsey Donn:Right.
Chelsey Donn:So instead of this, just being about a plague, maybe we're talking about COVID or
Chelsey Donn:What this would have been like, I'll speak for myself, but so often going
Chelsey Donn:And so what was going on, I didn't really understand the core of what
Chelsey Donn:And so it does make me wonder if within the brevity and within the modernization of this text.
Chelsey Donn:Is it really explaining it for somebody that might not understand in a context that someone
Trey Gerrald:And I do think that as a non Jew, that often goes to temple.
Trey Gerrald:A lot of it doesn't make sense to me because it is a different
Trey Gerrald:language until it is sermon where it's like a story that it's applied under the lens of today.
Chelsey Donn:Exactly.
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:So maybe there isn't a Right.
Trey Gerrald:and wrong.
Trey Gerrald:And I think that that is what school about JSS Review!
Trey Gerrald:is that it's A three-star
Trey Gerrald:they're not necessarily making the call, but for them they were saying
Chelsey Donn:Yeah.
Chelsey Donn:And this was my feeling about it.
Chelsey Donn:My feeling about it was that there was, it was too rushed.
Chelsey Donn:I just want to say that 73 people found this helpful, uh, kind of adds any clarity.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah, do we, do we consider everything?
Chelsey Donn:I feel like we really gave JS a non harried consideration.
Trey Gerrald:Yeah, I do feel a little.
Trey Gerrald:I'm not sure I'm going to sway on this, but let's let's crown A'..
Chelsey Donn:All right, let's do it.
Trey Gerrald:Okay.
Trey Gerrald:Here we go.
VOICEOVER:The Queens are Tabulating.
Chelsey Donn:right.
Chelsey Donn:Trey all at, at all.
Trey Gerrald:I'm really unsure.
Chelsey Donn:All right.
Chelsey Donn:Fair, three and a half crowns from trey four crowns for me.
Chelsey Donn:All right.
Chelsey Donn:Trey why three and a half crowns?
Trey Gerrald:Well, I wanted to do three because JS is Review!
Trey Gerrald:was three, but then I thought,
Trey Gerrald:wow.
Trey Gerrald:it's just interesting.
Trey Gerrald:I said this in the assessment, it's like, it's not new information to say, oh, this is condensed.
Trey Gerrald:And it's 30 minutes because that's literally the
Trey Gerrald:title, but I got the emotional toll of what is actually trimmed out
Trey Gerrald:value.
Trey Gerrald:So I said three and a half, because I think it's a little more than middle of the road here,
Trey Gerrald:So I said three and a half.
Trey Gerrald:Why did you say four?
Chelsey Donn:I said four because I really feel like Jay ass has handed us here.
Chelsey Donn:What is, in my opinion?
Chelsey Donn:A very perfect three star review.
Chelsey Donn:And what I consider to be a very perfect three-star review is there
Chelsey Donn:that might push some people towards actually purchasing the book
Chelsey Donn:And I really love that that all exists within this one.
Chelsey Donn:Review!.
Chelsey Donn:There's not a lot of shade being thrown by JS.
Chelsey Donn:Like we know that at the end of the day, JS is going to go with one of the
Chelsey Donn:And I really liked the way they skirted that line.
Chelsey Donn:Uh, I took a crown off because you know, it wasn't humorous and.
Chelsey Donn:Was missing a little bit of that special sauce that for me, takes a review from
Chelsey Donn:But other than that really solid Review!
Chelsey Donn:JS had fun.
Chelsey Donn:Breaking it down with you, Trey and foregrounds.
Trey Gerrald:Find Review!.
Chelsey Donn:Planks.
Chelsey Donn:A nice divide.
Chelsey Donn:This episode between the Passover and the Easter.
Trey Gerrald:Yeah,
Trey Gerrald:Um,
Chelsey Donn:All right.
Chelsey Donn:May queen, we have officially reached the most Regal portion of our show.
Chelsey Donn:Who are you in ducting tray for?
VOICEOVER:My Royal
VOICEOVER:Highness
Trey Gerrald:Today, I am going to induct the Brita water filtration company for My Royal
Trey Gerrald:Highness.
Trey Gerrald:So, all right.
Trey Gerrald:So I was very curious because I guess I started using like Brita pitchers, like at
Trey Gerrald:And so I just got very curious about.
Trey Gerrald:The company.
Trey Gerrald:So the company Brita was created in 1966 by Heinz hang comer in Germany.
Trey Gerrald:And they, um, started at under a different name, but then eventually named it after
Trey Gerrald:And then in 1988, the Clorox company purchased the rights to distribute
Trey Gerrald:And that's like how it got introduced to us, you know, as Americans, uh, in 1988,
Trey Gerrald:And then they have like seven different kinds of Brita filters.
Trey Gerrald:Do separate things, but what they target is eliminating lead mercury as best dose copper,
Trey Gerrald:And it's so scary.
Trey Gerrald:that exists.
Trey Gerrald:And I just major props to you, really water filtration, the whole conceit and
Trey Gerrald:That's going to clean out all the impurities and help, keep us healthy and safe and hydrated.
Trey Gerrald:And so for that reason,
Trey Gerrald:I am nominating you Brita water filtration as My Royal Highness.
Chelsey Donn:Love that!
Chelsey Donn:What's funny to me is that people buy Britta.
Chelsey Donn:and then like never clean their Brita
Trey Gerrald:Isn't that funny?
Trey Gerrald:I am so lazy with That
Trey Gerrald:That is such a funny point.
Chelsey Donn:It's like, you're trying to keep your water not contaminated
Chelsey Donn:That's never cleaned.
Chelsey Donn:And the filter hasn't been changed since 1980.
Trey Gerrald:Oh my God.
Trey Gerrald:That's really
Chelsey Donn:I also always talk about Trey's household because Trey
Trey Gerrald:talk about,
Chelsey Donn:oh my God all the time.
Chelsey Donn:I'm like, let me tell you a little bit about Trey and like his household with David.
Chelsey Donn:Like they have.
Chelsey Donn:Differing opinions on the temperature of water.
Chelsey Donn:Trey likes his water cold, whereas David likes his water room temp.
Chelsey Donn:So at their household, they have two different Brita's one that is an outside of the fridge.
Chelsey Donn:And one that is the inside of the fridge, which is.
Chelsey Donn:So great.
Chelsey Donn:And they feel like demonstrative of your relationship.
Chelsey Donn:It's like, okay, cool.
Chelsey Donn:Like you like this, I like Well, we're just going to have to make it work for both of us,
Chelsey Donn:I
Trey Gerrald:Oh, my God.
Chelsey Donn:many options for the
Trey Gerrald:so funny.
Trey Gerrald:We do do that, but I've never considered how that's like, I've never like taken
Trey Gerrald:That's really funny.
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:Yeah.
Trey Gerrald:It's just because he has sensitive teeth and he likes at room temperature And I am from the south.
Trey Gerrald:so, everything has to be iced.
Chelsey Donn:and I love it eyes too, but I just think that that's like so sweet
Trey Gerrald:that is true.
Chelsey Donn:if you ever go to Trey's house, just now they're
Trey Gerrald:have the option?
Trey Gerrald:Our cold one is a Brita and our room temperature is a pure, but only because of the sizes, not
Trey Gerrald:Oh,
Trey Gerrald:that's funny.
Trey Gerrald:All Right.
