Not bend against Gemini, bro.
Speaker AGemini coming in for the win.
Speaker ACome back, win.
Speaker BI think Claude might be the one.
Speaker AReally?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BI think Claude might be the W, bro.
Speaker AI'm sticking with Gemini.
Speaker BReally?
Speaker AIt's my race.
Speaker AThat's my racing horse.
Speaker BWhy is.
Speaker BOkay, I'm not here to judge your racing or something else, but I feel.
Speaker ALike you're judging my racing horse.
Speaker BI've been using.
Speaker BI've been using clot Claude.
Speaker BYeah, I really like.
Speaker BBecause he sounds German.
Speaker AThat's why you like him.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BNo.
Speaker BUsing Claude instead of ChatGPT.
Speaker BAnd I'm getting better results.
Speaker BMuch better results.
Speaker BLike, notably better chat.
Speaker BGPT does things like mess with you sometimes on purpose.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AIt wants to see if you're paying attention.
Speaker BI think it's had enough.
Speaker ALet's go.
Speaker ALet's get into it.
Speaker AWelcome back to the number one financial literacy podcast in the world.
Speaker AThis is the higher standard coming off a two week break.
Speaker ABaby sitting in front of me is my partner in crime in the World Series championship.
Speaker ALA Dodgers cap, fitted cap.
Speaker BThat's right.
Speaker AHigher Standard merch you can find on thspod.com.
Speaker Aalso known as the Jeff Goldblum of podcasting.
Speaker AI can keep this going.
Speaker BYeah, I can.
Speaker ATe Christopher Nahibi.
Speaker BHe is I and I am him.
Speaker BThe one and only Saeed Omar in the og.
Speaker BOf course.
Speaker BQuarter zip.
Speaker AGotta keep a quarter zip.
Speaker BChampion jacket.
Speaker AI gotta keep a quarter zip and sit behind the desk in the production suite.
Speaker AIt's the S to L to I to M. Slim.
Speaker BOh, wow.
Speaker BI didn't know you're going.
Speaker ASee what I did there?
Speaker BI can't spell.
Speaker BObviously.
Speaker AFighting for G. And Rajeel.
Speaker AWhat's up, my guy?
Speaker AHello, everyone, and happy New Year.
Speaker AThanks.
Speaker AThank you, man.
Speaker AAnd listen.
Speaker BNo, no, no, no, no.
Speaker BWeight check.
Speaker AOh, I think we hit a milestone.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker ASo my goal for the end of the year was to hit 199 and I did.
Speaker AWent down to 196.
Speaker ASounds like you need a better goal, my friend.
Speaker A180 goal.
Speaker B180.
Speaker BIs that the goal?
Speaker AThat's my goal.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker AAll right, my man.
Speaker BFading away in front of us.
Speaker BSponsored by Friday.
Speaker AYeah, let's get it right.
Speaker AThis is the higher standard where we teach you how to get rich.
Speaker ANot by investing in daycare centers.
Speaker BYeah, that's probably not a good strategy.
Speaker BI mean, you also may want kids at your daycare centers.
Speaker AWe will teach you how to get rich without having to do that.
Speaker BIt can't be a daycare center unless anybody's there to Care for.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AHow is that possible?
Speaker BIt's just.
Speaker AWho are you caring for?
Speaker AIt's a day center.
Speaker AYeah, it's a day center.
Speaker BIt's a day center.
Speaker AToday's episode, we're going to get into government funding bills.
Speaker AWe're going to get into why.
Speaker AOne expert thinks 2026 should be a little worrisome.
Speaker ABut first we're going to get into why it's going to be great.
Speaker BDidn't even sound enthusiastic.
Speaker BWe're going to.
Speaker AHey, the market's going to soar, fellas.
Speaker BIt's going to be a very conflicted, emotional roller coaster tonight.
Speaker BOkay, I know that, I know we curated the show that the message is going to be very mixed.
Speaker BAnd for those of you going like, oh my God, they're coming out rosy and optimistic for 2026.
Speaker BNo, no, wait till the end, kid, you.
Speaker BBut the, the long story short is that we don't really know and that there's going to be lots of stories coming out over the next days and weeks.
Speaker BFirst, the year is always like this where people are going to say it's going to be an amazing year or it's going to be a super negative year.
Speaker BAnd there's going to be pundits on both sides of the proverbial aisle, if you will.
Speaker BFrom a data perspective.
Speaker BWe're not here to judge everybody or anybody.
Speaker BJust some people.
Speaker AJust, just, just the ones that provide the housing data to the CPI report.
Speaker BYeah, they're going to get judged a little bit.
Speaker BJust those.
Speaker BWhat the actual.
Speaker AWhat happened?
Speaker BCome on, dude.
Speaker BLike, no one who saw the report today was like my mom who lives in Oklahoma, who's 70 something years old.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BWho does not pay attention to data, called me and goes, honey, is this right?
Speaker BNo, mom, no, no, it's not.
Speaker ADefinitely not.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BBut I wanted to give a good kind of broad spectrum because we like to listen to everybody and we like to give everybody a fair shot.
Speaker BAnd we're doing that tonight and talking about different opinions and really give everybody some thinking points as to what they should be thinking about in the year to come, what to look at from, from the data perspective, but also who to listen to and kind of see where their thoughts started at the beginning of the year.
Speaker BAnd then I do have some surprise inputs that I want to, I guess, add in, in colorful sprinkles in the way because I think there's some interesting things that are developing which I think we can say now are going to be real problems in 2026.
Speaker BNow, if they're A problem for you or me.
Speaker BThey might not be a problem for a company or vice versa, but there'll be a problem for someone.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AIt might not be now.
Speaker AMight be down the road.
Speaker BAnd I will apologize in advance.
Speaker BThere is a lot of heavy reading tonight because.
Speaker BReading other people's opinions.
Speaker BBecause we can't make fun of people who don't read their opinions.
Speaker BRight, Right.
Speaker AIf we're lucky, we'll comment on the author's names.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BRajille, you ready?
Speaker AI'm ready.
Speaker ALet's do this.
Speaker BA little more enthusiasm.
Speaker AWhen I'm ready, I'm ready.
Speaker AYeah, I am ready.
Speaker ABut you're not logged in.
Speaker BOh, you don't, don't worry about that.
Speaker BYou can, don't worry about that.
Speaker BYou can actually find most of these.
Speaker BSo that's actually a good point.
Speaker BSo most of these recite the source article, but a lot of them are syndicated on Yahoo.
Speaker BFinance.
Speaker BSo, Rajeel, if you want to type in like for example, this is a Bloomberg article titled every Wall Street Analyst now predicts a Stock market rally in 2026.
Speaker BYou can just type that into Google or Yahoo.
Speaker BFinance and it'll pull up the Yahoo.
Speaker BFinance version of it because it's syndicated.
Speaker BI like to do that because I want to cite the source.
Speaker BBut you can find it available online.
Speaker AAnd not behind a paywall.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAt the big banks and the boutique investment shops, an optimistic consensus has taken hold.
Speaker BAw.
Speaker BThe US stock market will rally in 2026 for a fourth straight year, marking the longest winning streak in nearly two decades.
Speaker BThat right off the top, I mean, 14 years, artificial intra deflation.
Speaker BWe had this huge prosperous upswing and we still seem to be swinging up, at least as far as the stock market's concerned.
Speaker BThe housing market, questionable.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BBut we're still on the upward swing, at least for company.
Speaker BEarnings go.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AI can't remember the exact figure, so I won't, I won't guess it, but I know there was more times than not, the stock market does in fact perform better after a year of, after back to back years of seeing 20 growth.
Speaker ASo it's like, I think it's above, above 50%.
Speaker BI think that's a data point we cited later on in the show.
Speaker AYeah, yeah, yeah, I've seen that before.
Speaker ASo that, that part doesn't surprise me to say.
Speaker AThe start of 2026.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BOkay, well, let's keep going.
Speaker BThere's a lot of rosy optimism in here.
Speaker BThere's sunshine, rainbows coming all out of this guy's body holes.
Speaker AI Like it.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BThere's plenty of angst.
Speaker BAmongst the risk of the return to a bull run that's pushed the s and P500 index up some 90% since October 2022.
Speaker BLOW.
Speaker BThe artificial intelligence boom could turn to bust the economy, and the Federal Reserve's interest rate decisions could defy expectations.
Speaker BAnd President Donald Trump's second year could bring even more unanticipated shocks than his first.
Speaker BSo, yeah, these are all things that could happen.
Speaker BKeep in mind, this guy's coming in with a rosy, optimistic perspective.
Speaker BAnd he said, look, you could have some weird things happen at the fomc.
Speaker BJerome Powell could step out.
Speaker BAs a matter of fact, I don't know if you guys caught it today, but there was a quote by Trump in.
Speaker BI don't know who he's talking to, but he basically said something to the effect of, I think that Jerome should resign even after his term as chair is up because he's supposed to stay on as a voting member of the fomc.
Speaker BAfter his chair run is.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ABig misconception for a lot of people.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker BYou don't get rid of them.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BBut Trump's pushing hard, you know, because.
Speaker AThat'Ll open up two seats.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BWhich would then swing the votes even more towards where I would say Myron is right now calling for all the cuts.
Speaker AAll the cuts.
Speaker BNot.
Speaker BNot one, not two.
Speaker AAll multiple.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker BAnd then, of course, the AI boom is interesting.
Speaker BAnd I want to say here that I spent a lot of time thinking after the last show came out through 14, by the time we record this.
Speaker BOh, thank you, Brigil.
Speaker BYou want to read that for me?
Speaker BSaying.
Speaker AYeah, got you.
Speaker ATrump added that Powell quote should resign and that he'd love to fire him.
Speaker AI mean, he has to.
Speaker BI mean, he's not mincing words.
Speaker AThe President came close to seeking Powell's ulcer in July, but backed away after a negative reaction in financial markets.
Speaker AMaybe I still might, Trump told reporters at his Mar a Lago resort in Florida.
Speaker AI might.
Speaker AI might do it.
Speaker BI gotta be honest.
Speaker AI want you to know that it's.
Speaker BOn the table if my boss, and I'm going to use the word boss here loosely, but if.
Speaker BIf my superior in the company infrastructure were saying something like that about me, I would be a little uncomfortable.
Speaker ASo I feel like he has to go extra hard on the paint against him because he appointed him.
Speaker AThis is partially your fault, dude.
Speaker ASo he's got to go extra hard to be like, he's not doing the job that I wanted him to do.
Speaker BI made a terrible mistake.
Speaker ABecause you know for a fact.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AIf Joey B.
Speaker AAppointed this guy, he'd be all over that.
Speaker BHe'd be fired.
Speaker AAlready done.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYou heard anything about Joe lately?
Speaker BJojo?
Speaker BDead silence.
Speaker BOh, is he already there?
Speaker AChristopher?
Speaker BChristopher, Anybody?
Speaker AChosen one.
Speaker BChosen one.
Speaker BYou got it.
Speaker BAll right, so let's get back to the story here.
Speaker BBut after three years when the equity markets rip roaring run made a mockery of any bearish calls sell side strategists are marching in lockstep optimism.
Speaker BEverybody's happy.
Speaker BHappy gummies and lollies, kids.
Speaker BWith the average year end S&P 500 forecast implying another 9% gain next year, not a single one of the 21 prognosticators surveyed by the Bloomberg News is predicting a decline in the market.
Speaker ANot a single one.
Speaker BNot one shout out for saying the word prognosticator in a sentence without getting that wrong.
Speaker AGot that?
Speaker AI mean, fuzzy knuckle rub.
Speaker BI gotta be honest, that one scared me a little bit.
Speaker AYou practiced it?
Speaker BYeah, like three times.
Speaker BPrognosticator, huh?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AThat's a big word.
Speaker BIt is a big word.
Speaker BSAT vocabulary, kids.
Speaker BThe pessimists have just been wrong for so long that people are kind of tired of that shtick.
Speaker BSaid veteran market strategist and longtime bull Ed Yardini.
Speaker BAnd I like Ed Yardini.
Speaker AYou do?
Speaker BI do.
Speaker BHe's a.
Speaker BHe's a G. He expects the S and P to finish next year at 7,700, up 11% from Friday's close.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BYet even he finds a lack of dissent a little concerning continuing on.
Speaker BYardini says that's where my counter instincts come out.
Speaker BThings have been going my way for so long that it's kind of worrying that everyone else seems to have become optimistic.
Speaker BHe said pessimism is on the out right now.
Speaker BCan you imagine?
Speaker BLet me just paraphrase what he just said.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYou know, sir, I've been right for so long.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker BEverybody else is now jumping on my train of being right that I'm a little worried they're wrong because I'm always right.
Speaker ABecause I'm always.
Speaker AAnd those guys are always wrong.
Speaker ASo it's a Kramer, right?
Speaker ANo, it's like you.
Speaker AIt's like you leading the way in Mario Kart and you're just riding away.
Speaker AYou're in first place and you're like, wait a minute.
Speaker AYou know, you know something.
Speaker AA blue shell's coming.
Speaker AYeah, it's coming to get me.
Speaker BSomebody back there is gonna get something.
Speaker ASomeone's gonna get me?
Speaker BYeah, it's usually my son, for the record.
Speaker BRight?
Speaker AIt's always.
Speaker AIt's always the guys in last place, bro.
Speaker AThey get the best items.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BWhy, why are you coming to me?
Speaker BRight?
Speaker BYou're not getting up here.
Speaker AWe can't be.
Speaker AYeah, they got to block some of these, man.
Speaker BAnyways, we get a moment of silence for Noriel Roubini.
Speaker BHe's out.
Speaker BYeah, he was.
Speaker BHe was a big economist we used.
Speaker ATo cover ever since the whole crypto stuff came out.
Speaker BYeah, you went.
Speaker BAs soon as you go crypto, you never go back.
Speaker AI actually get listeners that hit me up sometime.
Speaker AYou guys haven't covered Noriel in a long time.
Speaker AThere's a reason for that.
Speaker BYeah, he had his own shoes.
Speaker BThe Dr. Doom shoes from Adidas.
Speaker BDude.
Speaker AHe was ready to get sponsored by Adidas.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd us, we're going to send him a contract.
Speaker AHonestly, I was want to have him on the show anytime he wanted.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd then I was going to ask.
Speaker AYou as a general contractor to build a hot tub in the studio for him.
Speaker BBecause we know, we come if you build it.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker BWe put women in it.
Speaker BOf course.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BI mean, that's where we have to draw the line.
Speaker BThis is a PG13 show, Saeed.
Speaker AYeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BAll right, so another article from the Motley Fool.
Speaker BThe stock market could soar to 20 in 2026 as the economy booms despite President Trump's tariffs according to Wall Street.
Speaker BY.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BTwo back to back rosy optimistic articles in a row.
Speaker BYou're thinking, what are the higher standard boys insane?
Speaker BAre they high?
Speaker ADude, we're just trying to tickle your fancy.
Speaker AThat's what we're trying to do.
Speaker BAll up in your fancy.
Speaker A2026, everyone.
Speaker AHappy new Year.
Speaker BYou know what?
Speaker BWe just want to jump on the Yardini train.
Speaker AThat's.
Speaker AThat's a great name.
Speaker BHe's always right, honestly.
Speaker AYardini never wrong.
Speaker BEd is the man.
Speaker BHe's always a bull, by the way.
Speaker BIt could be like the market could be flashing red.
Speaker BLike it could be like reigning just failure from all these companies.
Speaker BAnd Eddie be like, buy More.
Speaker BIt's going to go up.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ABecause he knows this.
Speaker AJust like, just like you're never going to be wrong if you keep saying that.
Speaker AIt's doomsday.
Speaker AEventually doomsday is coming, right?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASame thing with this.
Speaker ALike, okay, you know, the Fed's going to going to take care of this at some point.
Speaker AEven when doomsday happens, the Fed will make sure that, okay, we will rise again.
Speaker BThe old Peter Schiff.
Speaker BA broken clock is right twice a day, say so.
Speaker BThat's my broken clock.
Speaker BWhich keeps ticking just at a slower time.
Speaker BIt's true.
Speaker AMine too.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAll right.
Speaker BInvestors got great news about the US Economy.
Speaker BDespite headwinds from President Donald Trump's tariffs, such as the highest unemployment rate in over four years, gross domestic product GDP increased at an annualized 4.3% in the third quarter, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Speaker BI gotta be honest, I was like, who?
Speaker BWhy are all these bureaus.
Speaker AYeah, right.
Speaker BLike, what are y' all doing?
Speaker AI swear.
Speaker BEconomic analysis.
Speaker BWhat analysis have you done right?
Speaker BNever heard that.
Speaker AThis is the bls.
Speaker BBureau of Labor Statistics.
Speaker BAnd if there's a Bureau of Labor Statistics, why is there one of economic analysis?
Speaker AI feel like we should be trusting the bls.
Speaker BThere's a lot of B's and a lot of S's.
Speaker AI don't understand.
Speaker AI'm not.
Speaker AI'm not.
Speaker AI'm not really understanding a lot of federal funding.
Speaker BAnd everyone's like, where's your federal dollars go?
Speaker AI'm calling, calling Shenanigans.
Speaker AI'm calling typo here.
Speaker BNo, that's.
Speaker AThat's no on them.
Speaker ATypographical error.
Speaker BLook up Bureau of Economic Analysis and see if Noria Robini is employed there.
Speaker ACall Shenanigans.
Speaker BWe like crypto.
Speaker BOh, man.
Speaker BWhile he's doing that.
Speaker BAnalysts had expected GDP to increase at an annualized site.
Speaker BJust got excited.
Speaker BCalm down.
Speaker BAt an annualized 3.3%.
Speaker BBut economic growth easily surpassed that figure due to strong consumer spending and business investments.
Speaker BTo add context, GDP growth averaged 2.7% annually over the past decade.
Speaker BSo the latest print was quite strong.
Speaker BThis website looks very Government.
Speaker BBureau of economic analysis.
Speaker BThe U.S. department of Commerce.
Speaker AI mean, can we be the Bureau of Wealth Building?
Speaker ACan we just do that?
Speaker BBureau of the Higher Standard.
Speaker AYeah, just.
Speaker AWe build wealth at this bureau.
Speaker BGod, can you imagine if we get like a government contract came over just to provide data.
Speaker BAll of our data would just contradict everybody else.
Speaker BData.
Speaker AGame over.
Speaker BWe're here to provide perspective, America.
Speaker ANo, just.
Speaker AJust jump on a call every Friday, company wide meeting.
Speaker AWhat data do you want?
Speaker AWhat do you want?
Speaker AWhat do you want to see?
Speaker BI'm sorry.
Speaker BTo Omar.
Speaker BChief Prognostic.
Speaker AWhat can I provide you?
Speaker BThe Chief Prognosticator.
Speaker AWhat can I provide you to make sure I keep getting this government contract every year?
Speaker BYou can provide Chief Prognosticator training.
Speaker BCpt.
Speaker AThat's it.
Speaker BCompton in the house.
Speaker ACpt, baby.
Speaker BThat's two shows in A row with confident jokes, by the way.
Speaker BShout out, Shout out.
Speaker BLook at you.
Speaker BYou're ready.
Speaker BI'm ready.
Speaker BI stay armed.
Speaker BSee?
Speaker ANever lacking.
Speaker BNever lacking.
Speaker BDo people.
Speaker BDo gangsters still use the word lacking?
Speaker AThey have to.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BYou're not a gangster.
Speaker BYou wouldn't know.
Speaker BYou want to Google that?
Speaker AIn a previous life.
Speaker BGangsters still say lacking in a previous life.
Speaker BThat's not going to come up.
Speaker BDon't ask Chat GPT.
Speaker BIf you're going to ask one of the AI models, chat GPT is the one you want to ask about that.
Speaker AThough.
Speaker BIt'S from the streets.
Speaker AThe streets were using chat.
Speaker BImportantly, while President Trump took a victory lap after the data was released, many economists said GDP growth was artificially high due to trade distortions created by tariffs.
Speaker BFor instance, many companies rushed to import inventory ahead of the tariffs earlier in the year.
Speaker BAnd we know Apple did that for an example.
Speaker BSo imports, which are subtracted from GDP were abnormally low in the third quarter.
Speaker BNevertheless, the economy is growing at a robust pace.
Speaker BIn turn, The S&P 500 has advanced 18 year to date.
Speaker BWow.
Speaker BWow.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAnd I just told people not to invest in that.
Speaker BStrange.
Speaker BAnd Wall street is very optimistic about 2026.
Speaker BSo I think it's worthwhile to pause here.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BAnd allow me to pontificate.
Speaker AOkay, pontificate.
Speaker BI'll elaborate, per se.
Speaker BSo, boys, we talked about on a previous show, 3133 14, that perhaps the way to invest has changed because AI and technology is going to increase at a faster cadence than we'd seen.
Speaker BAnd we told people the QQQ might be a better way to place to put their money and cryptocurrency, which hurt, really, really hurt side's feelings.
Speaker BWe actually had a very long emotional conversation and it was raining and the wet paper towel hands came out.
Speaker BIt was very sad.
Speaker BYou okay?
Speaker AI'm fine.
Speaker AI'm.
Speaker BYou want to talk about on the air?
Speaker ANo, no, no.
Speaker ABut we'll save it for the end of the show.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BI know you're emotional.
Speaker AIt's actually kind of sad.
Speaker BIt is sad.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BWe were playing Cry Me River.
Speaker BHe was Brittany.
Speaker ANo, I won't.
Speaker AI won't give out any names, but I know somebody that was recently scammed by some crypto.
Speaker BOh, no.
Speaker BReally?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BI've heard about a good old crypto.
Speaker AScam story about it in the show.
Speaker BReally?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BIs it a crypto that we know or is it one of like a really random Coins have a stupid name?
Speaker ANo, it's not one that we know.
Speaker BSo it's like that coin.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BHey, buy dumb coins, stupid.
Speaker AYeah, it's bad.
Speaker BIs it really?
Speaker AIt's not even crypto.
Speaker AIt's.
Speaker AI'll explain to it.
Speaker BThere's always that initial question mark around.
Speaker BWhy would you do this in the beginning?
Speaker BI understand all the things that happen afterward.
Speaker AAll right, here.
Speaker BI'll just tell you.
Speaker AI'll just tell you.
Speaker BI'll keep it short.
Speaker BThanks.
Speaker AThis is.
Speaker ASpencer's killing somebody I know, very close to me.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AWas told.
Speaker AWho's not very tech savvy.
Speaker AI should say.
Speaker AWas like, hey, I'm telling you, goals been going up.
Speaker AGoals are going to continue to go up.
Speaker AYou should invest in gold.
Speaker ASend me your money.
Speaker AI'll invest it for you, and we'll do it.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BThey said to you to send them your money.
Speaker BRight?
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BWhy would you send them the money by gold?
Speaker ASupposedly a trusted source.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BYeah, but why would you need to buy gold through them?
Speaker BRight.
Speaker ABecause they're not tech savvy.
Speaker AThey don't want to open up a brokerage account.
Speaker AThey don't want to go through the.
Speaker AThe hassle of, you know, investing.
Speaker BSo I'm gonna get this person to.
Speaker ADo it for me.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BThat.
Speaker AAlready out the gate.
Speaker AI'll create a. I'll create an account for you on Zap, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BOn what app?
Speaker AYeah, that's.
Speaker AThat's the key.
Speaker ADing, ding, ding.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker BThere's so many red flags are all over the place.
Speaker AIt was Genesis label.
Speaker AGenesis.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AThe Genesis crypto app.
Speaker ANo, no, I'm aware, but it wasn't spelled.
Speaker AIt wasn't even spelled correctly.
Speaker AOh, but they didn't.
Speaker AThey didn't know any better.
Speaker ASo they start off.
Speaker AThey dabble a little bit.
Speaker AThey dabble a little bit.
Speaker AThey go, here's.
Speaker AHere's 200 bucks.
Speaker BAnd they're making trades on this faux app.
Speaker AYeah, Right.
Speaker AAnd they're sending them screenshots of.
Speaker ALook, your money's growing.
Speaker A200.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker AMy money grew.
Speaker BWait, there's.
Speaker BWho's sending them screenshots?
Speaker AThe person that told him to invest.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BSo he.
Speaker AHe.
Speaker AThe person who's managing the account.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BSomebody else.
Speaker BSo you gave the money to somebody else who opened an account with this fake app for them.
Speaker AFor them.
Speaker AYeah, for them.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BThis is all wrong.
Speaker BHow do you meet this third party?
Speaker AHow can I double?
Speaker AThey were.
Speaker BYou can't do without giving away the guys.
Speaker AYeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker AAnd so they do it.
Speaker AThey send them screenshots showing them that, look, it's growing.
Speaker AHere's and here's.
Speaker AHere's an extra, like, 1200 bucks.
Speaker BAll right?
Speaker AAnd $1200 to this person is, like, everything for them.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ALike, all they got.
Speaker BIt's everything to me.
Speaker AAll right?
Speaker AAnd now after that, I think they were showing them screenshots that it's gone up, like, X percentage.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AAnd now they're in dire need of this cash.
Speaker ASo, yeah, it's like, okay, I need to cash out because I actually need the cash now.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AOh, well, the only way you're going to be able to do that is if you transfer it over to crypto right in the app, and then you have to cash it out that way.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AAnd you go to find out it's.
Speaker AFirst of all, it's not even a real app.
Speaker AAnd that person no longer answering text messages.
Speaker AAnd it was just all.
Speaker AIt was all fake.
Speaker AThe whole elaborate.
Speaker BYeah, but did he actually know.
Speaker BMeet this person that he.
Speaker AYeah, he knew.
Speaker AThey.
Speaker AThey.
Speaker AHe knew this person.
Speaker BAnd this person took the money then.
Speaker ATook the money, just went with it.
Speaker AAnd so they create these fake apps.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AThat are very similar to real ones.
Speaker BThis person is worried about this other person finding them.
Speaker AWell, so this person came to me was like, what can I do?
Speaker AI'm like, well, here's the problem.
Speaker AIf you were to buy things on the street that are not illegal, Right.
Speaker AYou can't go to the cops and be like, hey, this person didn't give me real stuff.
Speaker AReally?
Speaker ALegal stuff.
Speaker AWho are you gonna go to?
Speaker AWho are you gonna go complain to?
Speaker BIt wasn't buying illegal.
Speaker ANo, no.
Speaker ABut, but, no, but I'm saying you've invested into this app that's not real.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AFor all he knows, this person's name could be fake.
Speaker BOh, I thought he knew the person well enough.
Speaker BNo, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker BWow.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThat's.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AScammed.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AYeah, fully scammed.
Speaker AIt's really sad.
Speaker BHeartbreaking.
Speaker AAnd, like, I.
Speaker AAs I'm going through and trying to set up, like, a wallet for them, I figured this out.
Speaker ALike, oh, no, this is.
Speaker AYou're.
Speaker AYou're not going to be able to do this.
Speaker BWhen was this?
Speaker AThis was last week.
Speaker BDamn.
Speaker BWeek of Christmas, too.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker ARough.
Speaker ABut we were talking about Rosie.
Speaker AOptimism.
Speaker ALet's not.
Speaker AYeah, we took.
Speaker AWe took a left turn.
Speaker BLet's call it a rap Reill.
Speaker BIt's a game over for the show tonight.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BI mean, you ready to go home?
Speaker AJesus.
Speaker AI know, but.
Speaker AYeah, that's.
Speaker AI mean, it happens, man.
Speaker ASo I'm gonna keep my.
Speaker AI'm gonna keep my wet paper hands.
Speaker BOkay, you do that and I'm gonna get back on.
Speaker BOn track here because that was depressing.
Speaker BWe should probably make a.
Speaker BA new rule.
Speaker BWe.
Speaker BWe.
Speaker BWe'll just write this down.
Speaker BNo sad stories mid show.
Speaker AI. Bro, I said, I kept saying, let me do this.
Speaker AAt the end of the show, you kept pressing.
Speaker BYou made it sound interesting, not like emotional.
Speaker ABro, I said, somebody got scammed.
Speaker AWhat do you mean it's not interesting?
Speaker BSome scams are fun.
Speaker ANo, they're never fun.
Speaker BThat was heartbreaking.
Speaker BIf I lost 1200 put in some fake app, you'd be laughing your ass.
Speaker AOff right now because you got the 1200.
Speaker BYes, that's the point.
Speaker BMake sure to clarify next time before you start a story.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BSo we started the last couple of weeks talking about how technology in the rise and if you believe in technology moving at a faster cadence, that you have to possibly double down and invest in and around that space because that's the space that's going to grow outsize relative to the rest of the markets for the foreseeable future.
Speaker BThat's where we kind of left things off, right?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BWhich is why the Mag 7 and the 10 top stocks and the S&P 500 are really growing at the K's they're going.
Speaker BWhich is greater than the 18% the S& P returned this year.
Speaker BSo then I started thinking to myself, wait a minute.
Speaker BLight bulb moment.
Speaker BWe also have some markers coming back that signal recessionary trends, but we're not looking at them the right way.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BPerhaps using that same logic of where technology is going in the cadence of just everything in general.
Speaker BAnd despite my current angst with ChatGPT getting more stupid over the last couple weeks, and I'll explain that at the end of the show because it is a depressing story because I know the right placement of stories.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ATail end of the show.
Speaker AC block.
Speaker BC block.
Speaker BCPT Block.
Speaker BWe can't.
Speaker BWe can't use jail.
Speaker BJail block terminology.
Speaker BWe can't do that.
Speaker AWe're gonna get caught up.
Speaker BSomeone's gonna be one of them when.
Speaker AOne of us goes to jail.
Speaker BWe've never been in the shoe.
Speaker BSay, you know what you talk about.
Speaker AWeek, week when it's you.
Speaker BYeah, I don't.
Speaker BNo.
Speaker ANo, it's not me.
Speaker AHey, go be me.
Speaker BYeah, I'm.
Speaker BI have too hairless of a body to make.
Speaker BMake that situation.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BThere's lots of questions.
Speaker BI've had colorectal surgery.
Speaker BOh, my God.
Speaker BThere's no part of it that works out well for me.
Speaker AThat'd be bad.
Speaker BYeah, it'd be very bad.
Speaker ACan't even elaborate.
Speaker BCan't participate on this.
Speaker AHypothetical scenarios like I want to chief.
Speaker BPrognosticator is not working right now.
Speaker BSo I look at all these things and I think to myself, okay, unemployment went from 4.2%, 4.3%, 4.4%.
Speaker BWas it 4.6 now?
Speaker B4.4?
Speaker B4.4, yeah.
Speaker BAnd I said to myself, okay, well this would normal normally signal recessionary trends.
Speaker BBut what if, what if, and I know it's a big question mark and everyone's going to say, well, there's no data to support that.
Speaker BChris.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BWhat if this is the trend because we are getting more efficient businesses?
Speaker BWhat if we are naturally.
Speaker BAgain, hear me out.
Speaker BI know that there's no data to support this, but what if we follow that thread of where technology is going and businesses are going to get pushed and pushed and pushed to be more efficient.
Speaker BAnd the most efficient thing for every business in the country is largely going to be replacing humans with technology.
Speaker BIt'll have some capital expenditures in the very beginning to roll out the infrastructure.
Speaker BThey're going to spend a couple years building the data set and the data warehouse and the models.
Speaker BBut a lot of that's going to get easier and easier and faster and faster as time goes by because of the efficiency of technology.
Speaker BAnd then what are these companies going to do?
Speaker BLet's look at the finance sector, sector we often talk about.
Speaker BLet's use this as a microcosm for the rest of the world and the rest of the businesses.
Speaker BOkay?
Speaker BIf you can take a data call center, I don't care what you call for calling for loans, loan servicing, you're calling for deposits.
Speaker BAnd I can have AI answer everyone's call instantly.
Speaker BAnd it's not gonna be that dumb AI where you call, you're like, I want to talk to a person.
Speaker BAnd you just, you know it's not that one.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BBut it's gonna be like real valuable AI where you can just ask questions and get some feedback.
Speaker BThen you start losing humans in the employment space.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker ANaturally.
Speaker BAnd there was a period of time where not too long ago we decided that we would be intelligent and say, no, we're take all that manual labor work, we're going to ship that all out to China and third world countries, India, Mexico, because we're the smarter country.
Speaker AOr the cost of labor is just cheaper.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BSo we did all that.
Speaker BSo now the real labor jobs where people like at a call center a data center would go to.
Speaker BAren't there.
Speaker BSo it is a safe assumption to say that as AI continues to grow and get better, you are going to see higher unemployment.
Speaker BAnd that isn't going to be recessionary trending because at the same time you're going to have business efficiency and profits growing.
Speaker BMm.
Speaker BParticularly around those 10 stocks that build these things.
Speaker BAnd everybody's buying Nvidia's chipset, for example.
Speaker BBut yeah, that's, that's where we're going.
Speaker BAnd if we go that path and we win this AI war with other countries, because everybody's competing now for the best AI solution and that means less Americans are going to be working in some of these fields.
Speaker AOh, yeah.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSo are we seeing the early aughts of that long.
Speaker BNot too long ago you used to say, okay, I want an efficient call center.
Speaker BFrom a cost perspective, where would I go?
Speaker BAnd you would go to the Philippines.
Speaker BYou'd call, get some of the Philippines.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker AFor a long time it was India and then it slowly switched over to the Philippines.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd if you go to the Philippines, which I've been, you'll understand why it's a very.
Speaker BEnglish is almost like a native language to them.
Speaker BThey're very, very proper people and the cost of living is so incredibly low that you can pay them effectively, like a terrible wage here, there.
Speaker AAnd, and look, and it like economic behavior that consumers have shown already is as long as it's cheaper, that's all I care about.
Speaker ALook at Amazon.
Speaker AAmazon users, right?
Speaker BThey don't care.
Speaker BDon't shame me for my love.
Speaker BMe too.
Speaker AHold on.
Speaker AMe too.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker AIf I can get a faster prime shipping, I might get it same day.
Speaker ASign me up.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker ABut that takes that, that takes away from the mom and pop shop.
Speaker BIt does.
Speaker BI have been making a conscious effort and I want to put this, put myself on blast here.
Speaker BI've been making a conscious effort to use Amazon less, which I will say is a bit of a physical inconvenience because it requires me to be more proactive whenever I think about shopping and buying stuff.
Speaker BLike, I ran out of energy drinks this morning.
Speaker BNormally I just have last night.
Speaker BI'd have Amazon deliver some the next day.
Speaker BI'm also trying not to use like Postmates and Uber and all that stuff.
Speaker BAs much I, I, I want to be.
Speaker BIt's, it's insane how easy it is to remain Uber.
Speaker AGetting taken through the ringer right now.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AThis insurance policy coverage that they are like, I guess reducing for not only the drivers but the, the users themselves.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BEvery attorney I know in the PI space has been posting about it.
Speaker BAnd Farshad, who was on the show, who I love very much.
Speaker BVery handsome, by the way.
Speaker BSuper handsome.
Speaker AGood looking guy.
Speaker BYou're very good looking guy, honestly, especially.
Speaker ABecause the salt and pepper beard.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BI think the beard is probably second to mine, but it's a very close second.
Speaker AAnd I'll be honest, this is better than yours.
Speaker AThat's objectively speaking.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BMine also sheds a little bit.
Speaker BA little dandruff going on the beard, but that's okay.
Speaker BDoesn't hurt my feelings.
Speaker BIf I had to lose to somebody, that's fine.
Speaker BIt's him.
Speaker AYeah, that's right.
Speaker BYeah, it's to him.
Speaker BAnd he also gives great hugs.
Speaker AHe does give.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BBut there is one catch to his hugs, which I hope he hears this.
Speaker BWhen you hug him, you will smell like him the rest of the day.
Speaker AThat's a compliment though.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BHe wear, he wears the proper amount of cologne.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AWhat were you saying?
Speaker AAll the PI attorneys are posting about.
Speaker BThey're all posting about it.
Speaker BSo he's been posting about it.
Speaker BI talked to him about it the other day and it was, it was kind of shocking.
Speaker BEvery PI attorney that I know that, that deals with them from a legal perspective is suggesting not to, to use them and to boycott them.
Speaker ASomething about the coverage for the drivers and the people.
Speaker AThe actual users of the app used to have million dollar payouts in case of.
Speaker AFor injury, Right?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AAnd now they cut it down to 30 grand.
Speaker BWell, there's a logical nexus here that I think is important to walk down too.
Speaker BAt some point, you know, you're going to have a robo taxi like service, replace the individuals there.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, that's going to happen.
Speaker BAnd Elon Musk, you heard about his model, right?
Speaker BWhere his robo taxi concept.
Speaker ANo, I haven't heard about.
Speaker AI mean, I've heard him wanting to launch one, but not his model.
Speaker BSo he wants.
Speaker BSo the reason why Tesla was originally supposed to be so revolutionary was because the cars were just one part of the process, but it was just a hardware piece and they were really a data company.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BAnd he was using the cars that we were paying for to scan the roads and give him the most possible, like in depth data that anyone could have.
Speaker BAnd to this day, I think Tesla probably has the best road data out there.
Speaker AAnd they're, they're years ahead of everybody.
Speaker BElse because they've got all these cameras and all these cars and every single one of these Cars is rolling around, taking cameras and now they have camp cars lidar on them.
Speaker BLike Rivian just rolled one out.
Speaker BSo they're going to get more and more detailed thing with this.
Speaker BHow do you rob somebody now?
Speaker BEverybody's car's got like 12 cameras on it.
Speaker AIt sounds like a great solution.
Speaker AIt sounds like we have a good solution.
Speaker ALet's not jinx it, Chris.
Speaker BYeah, we did a cloaking device.
Speaker BLike it's like, it's crazy when I hear about somebody get somebody's house getting robbed.
Speaker BLike how everybody got a ring doorbell, dog.
Speaker BYou got mobile phones on you?
Speaker ANo, I feel like, I feel like the, the, the cameras, like the rings of cameras for your house alarms.
Speaker AI think it's a great hustle.
Speaker BOkay, hold on a second.
Speaker AThis is.
Speaker AThat's a great hustle.
Speaker AHey, hey, why don't you get this?
Speaker ASo people won't rob you.
Speaker ABut really all it does is show you who's robbing you while you're getting robbed.
Speaker APeople valid people are still going to rob you.
Speaker ANow you just get to see how you got robbed.
Speaker BDon't take that, don't take that.
Speaker BNot that.
Speaker ANot like that.
Speaker BTake that.
Speaker ATake that, take that, take that.
Speaker BWhich explains the little bottle of baby oil I found in the neighborhood last week.
Speaker ATake that.
Speaker BI looked down in the gutter and I was like, huh, I should go home now, right?
Speaker BCan't be out here late at night.
Speaker BThere's nothing coyotes.
Speaker BYou got to worry about street saying safe.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYou don't know what'd you find out there in Irvine.
Speaker ABut Robo you're talking about.
Speaker BNo, no.
Speaker BI'm trying to think of the best way to articulate so effectively everybody had an opportunity to opt in on their cars under this model that he wanted to put out where everybody's vehicle would have effectively the same functionality as the robo taxis were.
Speaker BSo you could opt in.
Speaker BSo you go to work in the morning, you get there at 9 o' clock.
Speaker BLike you know the old school model before, before COVID hit and you would park your car.
Speaker BWell, you could turn your car on to go into the taxi service and tell and schedule it to come back to you whenever you got off work.
Speaker BAnd then your car would be out making money for you.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BAnd then returns to you in full self driving to where it was at before.
Speaker AAmazing.
Speaker BNow great model.
Speaker BThere's a lot of idiosyncratic logistics in there.
Speaker AWorked out.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BBut if that's what he's ultimately aiming to do, think about that.
Speaker BYou would no longer buy a car because it's amazing for you.
Speaker BYou would buy a car because it's gonna pay for itself.
Speaker BYeah, sign me up, bro.
Speaker AYeah, I mean, then you would charge more for the car.
Speaker BHey, hey.
Speaker BNow we just covered this.
Speaker AI'm just saying.
Speaker AWas the average price of a new car, like 48 grand?
Speaker AThat's going up.
Speaker APrice going up.
Speaker BI'm not gonna name any names.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AOh, somebody got a new car.
Speaker BI'm not gonna name my brother's name, but he.
Speaker BHe's buying a car, he's getting through a car dealer at like a hundred and twelve thousand dollars.
Speaker BAnd I'm like, bro, you're not even 30.
Speaker AWell, hold on.
Speaker AI mean, we talk about.
Speaker AOn the show is.
Speaker AAnd all the YouTube creators are.
Speaker AThis is their title.
Speaker ABiggest wealth killer.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker ABuying a car.
Speaker AIt's overpriced.
Speaker BThe higher standard.
Speaker ANo, the wealth killer.
Speaker BKilling everybody's wealth.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker BLook, and I bought it like I bought a 750IL back in the day.
Speaker AIt was a nice car.
Speaker BIt was a nice car.
Speaker BI had a 7, 745 li.
Speaker BNo, 745.
Speaker BI.
Speaker BThe short wheel base.
Speaker BI. I did all that, and I regret it.
Speaker BThey were.
Speaker BThey were fun experiences.
Speaker BSure.
Speaker BDid I need them?
Speaker ANope.
Speaker BAnd I got to the point where I got back, I think, you know this.
Speaker BI went to Hawaii.
Speaker BNo, I was.
Speaker BBefore I went to Hawaii, a gentleman who was in his 70s at the time came out.
Speaker BHe was like, chris, I got a new car.
Speaker BYou should come see it.
Speaker BI was like, all right, cool.
Speaker BWent down there is exact same car as me, color, everything.
Speaker BAnd that same week, one of the girls we worked with was like, chris, why do you drive an old man car?
Speaker BAnd I'm like, damn it.
Speaker BShe's not wrong.
Speaker AGot me.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd I went to Hawaii like the following week, and I rented a Jeep.
Speaker BAnd I was like, I. I live like, next to Laguna beach.
Speaker BLike we.
Speaker AI should.
Speaker AI should be owning this.
Speaker BI should own this.
Speaker BAnd I bought the Jeep thanks to you and your.
Speaker BYour love for Jeeps.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd then I got a Jeep.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd then now neither one of us have a Jeep anymore.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker BRip.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BSo sad.
Speaker ABut I'll say.
Speaker AI'll say this now, years later, every time I pass by somebody driving a Jeep, it's always a girl driving it.
Speaker ANow I don't see many guys driving Jeeps anymore.
Speaker AI'll be honest.
Speaker BThis is.
Speaker BSides nod to the decreasing testosterone levels in modern men.
Speaker BHe would like to suggest there's a correlation to Jeep driving.
Speaker AThere's a Small correlation.
Speaker AAnd I feel like the dudes are driving the Broncos.
Speaker AThat's what I feel like they are.
Speaker BMatt had a Bronco.
Speaker ASee?
Speaker AYeah, Got it.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BBroncos are nice.
Speaker BThey're bigger, they're beefier.
Speaker BMm.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BThey're not as nimble.
Speaker AIt's a good his and her car, right?
Speaker ABronco girl.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker BYeah, I like the Jeep's better.
Speaker BI'm a Jeep guy always.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BSo $36,000.
Speaker BAnd the point of this whole story was I had way more fun driving that $36,000 car.
Speaker AOh, yeah.
Speaker BThan I did driving any other cars.
Speaker BAnd it's.
Speaker BI stopped caring what people thought.
Speaker BI mean, I overbuilt it for sure, but I stopped caring.
Speaker AYou have fun with it.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BGetting back on track here briefly, before we get into the negative side of the stories.
Speaker BAnd there are negative ones, trust me, I think that might be the trend for the years to come, is that we're going to see what we think.
Speaker BAnd I think this is probably some of the rhetoric that we're seeing in between these opinions is that people are taking what otherwise would be recessionary details and they're dooming with it because they are bad things.
Speaker BLike the unemployment is increasing.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BBut is that where we go?
Speaker BAnd does that mean that companies aren't going to make as much?
Speaker BNo, they're probably going to make more.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BAnd if companies aren't making as much, they're probably going to lay off more people.
Speaker BSo I don't know that that nexus between unemployment and employment with the current technology stack that we have in society are still tying those two together.
Speaker BAnd I know the Fed's primary job is to look out for jobs.
Speaker AStable jobs has been the reason why for the recent rate cuts in stable pricing.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BI don't know that pricing and jobs are intertwined anymore.
Speaker BWe used to say they almost had like an inverse relationship, and it's a subtle balance to balance them all.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BIf you're Jerome Powell and you're looking at the jobs, you're going like, what the hell, man?
Speaker AWell, especially if.
Speaker AIf we're going to experience what we had predicted that we might see, right.
Speaker AIs stagflation, when these things are now working in opposite directions.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AWhere unemployment's.
Speaker AUnemployment's going up, but inflation is also going up.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AThen you have a real problem.
Speaker ABut at we're going to continue to see growth for a number of different reasons.
Speaker AAlthough we may not be officially in quantitative easing territory.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AAnd they can call it reserve management all they want, put that liquidity in the market, boys.
Speaker AThat liquidity is coming in the market.
Speaker AAnd that's all the market hears.
Speaker BWait.
Speaker A40 billion a month.
Speaker AStop.
Speaker BWrite me a check.
Speaker AThat's it?
Speaker AWhat you're saying is we're gonna pump liquidity into.
Speaker AInto the economy?
Speaker BHey, Regio, do me a favor real quick while he's doing this.
Speaker BSomebody won like over a billion dollars recently in lotto.
Speaker AOh, Arkansas.
Speaker APissed.
Speaker AI paid.
Speaker AI did my poor people tax.
Speaker BI bought one ticket.
Speaker BSee, I won't do it.
Speaker BI did it.
Speaker ATwo dollars, bro.
Speaker BI did it.
Speaker BWife told me.
Speaker BI was like, no, look up how much he paid in taxes.
Speaker AIt is insane.
Speaker AThere's a girl, I think 3 million pay.
Speaker AIt was only 492 or something, right?
Speaker AYeah, it was like four hundreds.
Speaker BSo this person went over a billion dollars and took home like in the 400 millions?
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker AHigh 400.
Speaker BYeah, I know that's a lot of money.
Speaker BOkay, I'm not.
Speaker BI'm not saying that.
Speaker BThat wouldn't be life changing for anyone.
Speaker AI feel like I. I wouldn't be smiling in that photo.
Speaker AI would be pretty upset still.
Speaker BBut are we talking like a 75 tax rate here?
Speaker BNo.
Speaker AObviously the payout up front is you get.
Speaker AYou get like a lot.
Speaker AYou get half and then you get taxed on the half.
Speaker BWhy?
Speaker BWhat's with.
Speaker BI mean, what.
Speaker BI know.
Speaker BYou know what I mean?
Speaker ALike, I don't make sense.
Speaker BYou need to hustle a lottery winner.
Speaker BJust pay the man what he won.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker BOr the girl or whoever that was.
Speaker BI mean, just saying, like, you know what.
Speaker BWhat the hell happened?
Speaker AWell, that's how it is, right?
Speaker AOkay, you get it all over.
Speaker AI forget, I forget.
Speaker AI don't even know how it works over 30 years.
Speaker BYeah, right.
Speaker APaid out over time, which you know you ain't gonna be long.
Speaker ALive long enough to see all that.
Speaker AHere you go.
Speaker ALottery winnings in Arkansas.
Speaker ASubject to both federal and state income taxes, bro.
Speaker AShould have, should have bought.
Speaker AShould have been living in Texas, bro.
Speaker ADamn.
Speaker ANo state income tax.
Speaker AHow you playing the lotto in.
Speaker AIn Arkansas?
Speaker BJust salty.
Speaker BI know you are.
Speaker AFederal taxes.
Speaker AThe IRS requires a mandatory 24 federal tax withholding on prizes over $5,000.
Speaker AHey, if you make under 5, we don't care.
Speaker BKeep it.
Speaker AFor large jackpots, the winners final tax liability can be as high as the top marginal rate of 37% when they file their full tax return.
Speaker AExample, for a recent $1.8 billion jackpot for the Powerball winner who won 1.817 billion with a B jackpot on Christmas Eve.
Speaker AAnnals on Christmas Eve dog dang.
Speaker AAnd chose the lump sum cash out of roughly 835 million.
Speaker ASo win 1.817.
Speaker AThe cash out option is 835 million.
Speaker ASo then you got to pay the taxes, bro.
Speaker AFederal tax.
Speaker AFinal federal tax bill estimated to be $309 million.
Speaker AGovernment just coming up on 309 million.
Speaker AThanks.
Speaker BAppreciate y'.
Speaker BAll.
Speaker BIt's just, it's just disappointing.
Speaker AAppreciate, appreciate you guys believing in the pipe dream and shame on you for playing it right.
Speaker ASo, okay, so the Rosie optimism I the start of 2026, what it really, my belief, what it really boils down to and stems from is, you know, you right now they're predicting you're, you're going to get one more rate cut for sure.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ATrump's out here, you know, advocating for Powell to not only like step down, but fully resign, not become a voting member, hopefully to get two seats.
Speaker AYou know, you're going to get more, more than one Ray cut next year.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AYou got the Fed saying we've agreed to pump $40 billion a month right now.
Speaker AAnd I get it, that really impacts the short term Treasuries.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AThe ten year which everyone's looking at for mortgage rates and help with the housing market.
Speaker AYou're really at the mercy of the bond market there.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BAnd I don't see a lot of movement there.
Speaker AI don't see and I got data on that too from all the big players on where they see it going.
Speaker ABut long story short, they still see it at a 6% range.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker A6 to 7% range.
Speaker BThat's probably right.
Speaker BHe did six, seven things you see that Rejill had to.
Speaker ABut the Rosie optimism, that's where it's coming from.
Speaker AYou're going to get money pumped in, liquidity pumped into the system with more rate cuts to come.
Speaker AThat's all the market hears.
Speaker AThey don't care about what you label it, reserve management, this whatever.
Speaker AEverything's going to continue to go up at least through Q1, Q2.
Speaker BI was checking the cameras.
Speaker BYeah, I just talking to you.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BGet that clip inside.
Speaker BWell, you're not wrong and unfortunately there are some naysayers out there in the market who feel very similar to you as it relates to, you know, things are saying naysayers.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BA little caution I would say out of the two of us, I'm probably the rosy optimistic one and you're probably.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BThis from Investopedia.
Speaker BWhy the stock market expert says he's cautious heading into 2026.
Speaker BSame day, same week, but amazing beard.
Speaker BSosnik Steve Sosnik, chief strategist at Interactive Brokers, expects the S&P 500 to finish near year next year, around 6,500, far lower than the 7,700 other people were predicting to start the show, more than 3% below the benchmark index's close on Wednesday.
Speaker BSo he's actually saying it's going to go down slightly next year.
Speaker BSosnik is one of the most bearish forecasts on Wall Street.
Speaker BIn an interview with CNBC Wednesday, however, he said he's not outright pessimistic.
Speaker BIt's just more of a cautious number, he said.
Speaker BSosnik echoed comments made by bank of America's lead US equity strategist, who earlier this week predicted that the 2026 would be a, quote, lackluster year for stocks.
Speaker BWall street analysts generally expect stock returns to moderate after three years of big gains driven by soaring AI st.
Speaker BConcerns about an AI bubble have weighed on the market's leaders in recent months in a potential precursor to next year's trading.
Speaker BHistory advises caution, According to Sosnik, who said midterm election years tend to be tough for stocks, uncertainty about what party will control Congress often puts investors in a wait and see made leading mode leading up to November.
Speaker BSince 1950, midterm years have been the most volatile and worst performing years in the presidential cycle, according to LPL Financial Analysis.
Speaker BHowever, I would say that you've got the Republican Party controlling the executive branch, the House and the Senate.
Speaker BSo I don't know that you're going to see that much volatility as far as the voting members go and their views.
Speaker ABut this is the problem.
Speaker AThis is the problem for them.
Speaker BIs it?
Speaker AThis is the problem.
Speaker AWhat's happening in January?
Speaker BOh, the higher standards.
Speaker BGet a new sponsor, Fridays Fridays.
Speaker BBrought to you by Fridays.
Speaker BJoin Fridays.com everybody.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AAnd we're not even charging for that one.
Speaker BNo, that's a free one.
Speaker AYeah, that's because.
Speaker AThat's because we believe in it.
Speaker BOnce we sign that contract, you better be damn well using that.
Speaker BThat code.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker A100.
Speaker ANo, what's happening in January is they're going to have to do another government funding bill.
Speaker BYeah, that's right.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BJanuary 30th.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BGovernment shutdown.
Speaker BOh my God.
Speaker BWe talk about government shutdowns every week of the show.
Speaker BThat's because they don't solve the problem, everybody.
Speaker AThey don't.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThey just push it out.
Speaker AThey're extending it.
Speaker AAnd I think this has to do with the Obamacare subsid.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BThat was the last time.
Speaker BThe last holdout was for the Obamacare.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd this is gonna be the same thing.
Speaker AThey never resolved it.
Speaker BThey kicked that first form can down the road.
Speaker AShe's a great can, mind you.
Speaker AShout out to Andy.
Speaker BAnd this is how you subtly plug people, kids.
Speaker AThere you go.
Speaker BI've been in this.
Speaker AThe Neo of podcasting.
Speaker AChosen one.
Speaker BExcept he dies, doesn't he?
Speaker ADoes he?
Speaker AI didn't watch the third one.
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker BOh, I don't watch the show.
Speaker BDoes he ever really die?
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AThat's a good question.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BIt's esoteric.
Speaker BBut still important side is going to drink his drink.
Speaker BYou were saying?
Speaker BNo, we got a government shutdown and we're covering that later on in the show.
Speaker BNotes.
Speaker AYeah, that was.
Speaker AThat was supposed to be a segue for you.
Speaker BWas it really?
Speaker BYeah, I wasn't there yet.
Speaker AYeah, you were.
Speaker BOkay, fine.
Speaker BThe Hill clock ticking on government funding deadline as House battles over other issues.
Speaker BOkay, that was a good handoff.
Speaker BI didn't take it.
Speaker BI fumbled the bag.
Speaker BYou did.
Speaker AIt's okay.
Speaker BLike to point out that I don't often cite the Hill, but in this.
Speaker ACase I like some of their work.
Speaker BYeah, you know, it's, it's.
Speaker BI think it's got tough else.
Speaker AI think.
Speaker BNo.
Speaker BAnybody?
Speaker BCome on the Hill.
Speaker AThat was.
Speaker BYeah, dad.
Speaker BJoke.
Speaker ACome on, keep up.
Speaker AI got it out here.
Speaker ALet you slide.
Speaker BQuarter zips.
Speaker AI think the, the, the top two people over at Breaking Points are from the Hill, I think.
Speaker BOh, really?
Speaker AI think I could be wrong.
Speaker AJust don't quote me on Breaking Points again.
Speaker ABreaking Points is that independent media source.
Speaker AThey do great.
Speaker AThey do amazing work.
Speaker BIf you're gonna cheat on me, don't do it to my face.
Speaker BSaeed.
Speaker AOh, they're amazing.
Speaker BWe are an independent media source.
Speaker BThey're good.
Speaker BStreaming live shows every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11am to 1pm Pacific Standard.
Speaker ATime starting this month.
Speaker BThe higher Standard Live.
Speaker BWe're coming into your doors.
Speaker AAt least one of us are.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BThe other one still employed, unfortunately.
Speaker BWe'll fix that problem for you eventually.
Speaker BJust kidding.
Speaker BThe two week holiday recess, a contentious health care debate and discharge petition showdowns are squeezing the House's legislative calendar, raising doubts about whether the lawmakers can finalize government funding before the January 30 deadline.
Speaker BLet me tell you, spoiler alert.
Speaker BIt's going to be a bumpy ride, kids.
Speaker AIt's going to be bumpy.
Speaker AYeah, I'm predicting shutdown.
Speaker BI'M predicting shutdown as well.
Speaker B35 days.
Speaker AI don't know if it's going to go.
Speaker AIt's going to go the distance again.
Speaker BWe can start Deadpool again.
Speaker AShould we?
Speaker AYeah, yeah, we might have to.
Speaker AI hope it doesn't, obviously, because I think a lot of people experience a lot of problems, a lot of government employees during that time.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BI appreciate you having a very heartfelt statement about this.
Speaker AEmpathy.
Speaker AI have more empathy than you.
Speaker AI am a better human than you.
Speaker BIt doesn't mean I can't gamble on it.
Speaker BI don't want to have a shutdown either.
Speaker BBut polymarket's got bets out there.
Speaker ADo they have bets out there?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BOh, look that up, please.
Speaker BPull this shut down.
Speaker BBut for sure they do.
Speaker AThey have to.
Speaker BAnd it's got to be like at least 70.
Speaker AIt's more than a coin flip, right?
Speaker BYeah, it's more than a coin flip.
Speaker BYeah, for sure it is.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd Rejeel, don't go to the naughty section on polymarkets again.
Speaker BLast time I saw the catch history.
Speaker BNaughty, naughty.
Speaker AThis guy, wild boy.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BHe was trying to find Pokemon Go.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAll right.
Speaker BBy the way, I've been playing a lot more again since you said.
Speaker AOh, you are.
Speaker AYou had me as a friend.
Speaker BI will add you as a friend.
Speaker BWe'll do that after the show.
Speaker AYou're back on again?
Speaker BYeah, bro, it's a problem.
Speaker BMy son's into it.
Speaker BI already had an account.
Speaker BI got up all the gangster OG Pokemon.
Speaker BSo I'm out here.
Speaker ASo gotta catch them all.
Speaker AMy.
Speaker AMy brother, My brother in law.
Speaker AEveryone, everyone knows Odin introduced Adam to Pokemon Go back in the day and into the whole universe of Pokemon.
Speaker AAnd I was like, I was never into it.
Speaker ASo for me, it was a real drag.
Speaker AI'm like, man, can we just do the sports thing?
Speaker BWhat do you mean?
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker AI'm not interested.
Speaker BYou gotta encourage your kids.
Speaker BWhat they love.
Speaker AIf he loves it, you love it.
Speaker ANo, no, Jill.
Speaker BSee, this is why we're better parents.
Speaker AHold on.
Speaker AYou got you.
Speaker AFirst of all, you guys are both better parents to me.
Speaker AI'm not saying that I am better than you.
Speaker BYou.
Speaker ABut I'm saying this was pushed and forced onto him.
Speaker AAnd I was like, you're.
Speaker BYou're.
Speaker BYou're talking about a room, right?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BYeah, a room.
Speaker BDidn't push that on him.
Speaker AOh, he did.
Speaker AHe said, bro, no kid's gonna turn away Pikachu.
Speaker AHe's the cutest thing ever.
Speaker BHe's gonna force it on him.
Speaker BLook at this cute little thing.
Speaker BOkay, cool.
Speaker BI want to catch them all.
Speaker AOh, yeah.
Speaker ASo then he wanted to catch them all.
Speaker AThen he got into Pokemon Go, and he's.
Speaker ANow he's no longer into it.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BBecause you have, like, this whole, like, basketball sweat camp I'm watching.
Speaker AYeah, the whole sweat camp.
Speaker ASo I'm watching basketball now.
Speaker AHe's a fully integrated into basketball.
Speaker AAll things basketball.
Speaker AAnd now Odin's back with Air Bender.
Speaker AI'm like, bro, it's a great series.
Speaker BIt's a good series.
Speaker AIt's a great series.
Speaker AHold on.
Speaker AI know it is.
Speaker AWhat.
Speaker AWhat's the UFC fighter's name?
Speaker AIsrael Adesanya.
Speaker AYou're the same Last Style Bender.
Speaker AIs that the same.
Speaker AIs that the same thing?
Speaker ALast Style Bender as Air Bender?
Speaker AIs that same thing.
Speaker BGod damn it.
Speaker ALast Style Bender.
Speaker ANo, no, the Style Bender.
Speaker ANo, no, that ain't it.
Speaker AIt's two.
Speaker AThose are two different things.
Speaker AAir, there's fire, there's.
Speaker ABro, what's going on?
Speaker AThis is too much.
Speaker BDo you think I forgot about you not watching Loki?
Speaker BYou're the last person to comment on pop culture.
Speaker BOkay?
Speaker BYou can take your boat shoes and get out.
Speaker AAll right, hold on, hold on.
Speaker AI don't understand.
Speaker AWhat makes it so good, man.
Speaker BWhat?
Speaker BLoki?
Speaker ANo, no, not Loki.
Speaker BLoki.
Speaker AI understand.
Speaker ALoki's amazing.
Speaker AHe's probably one of my favorite villains of all time.
Speaker BWe do the stranger things.
Speaker BLater on today.
Speaker BWe're Jill you up to date.
Speaker ANo stranger scenes now.
Speaker AI got a binge watch, bro.
Speaker AI got a binge watch.
Speaker AI got.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker AI'm like two seasons behind.
Speaker BThis is.
Speaker BThis is.
Speaker BThis is.
Speaker BWe shouldn't be recording a show tonight.
Speaker BWe should just watch.
Speaker AI know, but I don't know.
Speaker AI don't understand.
Speaker AI don't understand the whole Pokemon and Airbender.
Speaker AI don't get it all.
Speaker AIt ain't me anything.
Speaker BYou got to embrace pop culture.
Speaker AThat ain't pop culture.
Speaker BPop culture.
Speaker AThat's not pop culture.
Speaker BCatch them all.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BI believe it.
Speaker BPoly Markets.
Speaker BWill there be another U.S. government shut down by January 31st?
Speaker ASurvey says 25 chance.
Speaker BIt's less than a coin flip, but that's okay.
Speaker AI'm telling you.
Speaker AThat's going up, though.
Speaker BI bet you that does get more and more accurate the closer you get.
Speaker B25 cents for yes, 76 cents for no.
Speaker BThis is the real Polymarket.
Speaker BIt's not like the site's personal friend.
Speaker BIt would be Poly Markets.
Speaker ASad.
Speaker BToo soon.
Speaker AYeah, too soon.
Speaker BIs that person listening to the show?
Speaker ANo.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BGood.
Speaker BI'm not sorry.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AI don't think they know how to access the show.
Speaker BThey're going to the wrong.
Speaker BHigher standards.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker BMore on that to come.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BAll right.
Speaker BSo far, lawmakers have passed only three of the 12 appropriations bills needed to fund the government.
Speaker BOnly three.
Speaker BThat's 25%.
Speaker BAlso in line with the probabilities.
Speaker BInteresting.
Speaker BThey must pass the remaining nine bills or enact a temporary stopgap measure to keep the rest of the government running past the end of January.
Speaker BIf not another government shutdown is on the table.
Speaker BBut the House has been bogged down by competing priorities.
Speaker BNancy Pelosi's trading being one of them.
Speaker BGotta catch em all.
Speaker BRepublicans are facing mounting pressures as the Affordable Care Act ACA subsidiaries are set to expire at the end of the month.
Speaker BFour GOP lawmakers broke ranks to join Democrats in advance in advancing a discharge petition to bring a three year subsidy extension bill to the floor in January over the objection of leadership.
Speaker BKeep in mind this from the Hill, so it sounds very political, but this is a financial literacy show.
Speaker BLawmakers expect that the Senate to will amend the bill if it is passed in the House, passes the House.
Speaker BI really gotta stop drinking caffeine so late at night.
Speaker BAnd any bill that passes the Senate will change with changes has to be sent back to the House for another vote.
Speaker BA process that will likely also be lengthy and contentious.
Speaker BAnd basically they're saying, strap in kids.
Speaker BIt's gonna be a bumpy ride.
Speaker AIt's gonna be a bumpy ride.
Speaker AAnd this is just something else that they're gonna.
Speaker ABecause it has to.
Speaker AIn order for them to, to change it.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AThey're gonna have to get a vote of 60, 40.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ASo even though they control the majority, they're still gonna have to get votes on from the other side to get there.
Speaker BIt's problematic.
Speaker AIt's gonna be a problem.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BI don't see this.
Speaker BI would say the odds of there being another government shut down and them not getting this done, in my personal opinion, are high.
Speaker AYeah, I agree.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BBecause this was, this is the point of contention last time.
Speaker BIt's why everybody held out.
Speaker BNobody wants in the government shut down.
Speaker BBut I don't, I don't know that you're gonna get.
Speaker BI don't know how you get people who are unwilling to compromise on either side of the aisle to compromise to get something like this done.
Speaker AWell, the real struggle for a lot of people is going to be that a lot of people are expecting more rate cuts.
Speaker ATo come, but you had a CPI report that came out that was a little disingenuous.
Speaker BOh, God, the handoffs are so good tonight.
Speaker AYou just feeling this.
Speaker AIt's just flowing.
Speaker AIt's just flowing.
Speaker BYou get like that, like the little, like, tingly, like bumps on your arms and like your hair starts to raise up.
Speaker BYou're like goosebumps.
Speaker AYou ever been in such a flow state of basketball where you can just throw a no look pass.
Speaker BNever.
Speaker AYou just know me all the time.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYou probably live there.
Speaker AI live in the no look pass lane.
Speaker BYou're basically 11.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BOh, yeah.
Speaker BStranger Things reference.
Speaker BThere you go.
Speaker AI got it.
Speaker ASee, I'm plugged in.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAlso a reference he doesn't even know he's doing anymore.
Speaker BKids, it's called flow.
Speaker AIt's just flowing.
Speaker BInflation in November fell to 2.7%.
Speaker BThe Bureau of Labor Statistics, not the other department, we just Economic analysis.
Speaker BWe didn't hear about them before, said Thursday a positive sign for consumers.
Speaker BOn its face.
Speaker BKeywords on its face.
Speaker BHowever, November's data was collected later than normal.
Speaker BThe release figures may include significant holiday discounting, which could have put downward pressure on the overall figure.
Speaker BThere's a quote here.
Speaker BIt's possible that this does reflect a genuine drop off in inflationary pressures, said Paul Ashworth, Capital economist, chief North America economist.
Speaker BReally weird name.
Speaker BBut such a sudden stop, particularly in the more persistent services component like rent or shelter, is very unusual, at least outside of a recession, he said.
Speaker BThat's curious.
Speaker BOutside of a recession.
Speaker BInteresting.
Speaker BWell, wait, there's more.
Speaker BMorgan Stanley's economists concurred, saying it's difficult to draw strong conclusions from the report.
Speaker BThey warned that given the way the BLS processed the report, without October data, inflation could see re acceleration in December.
Speaker AI'm telling you right now, book it.
Speaker AIt's happening.
Speaker BWow.
Speaker ANo, it has to happen.
Speaker BSo firm.
Speaker AThe Fed has said that they like to look at core inflation and see.
Speaker BWhen I said earlier that he was the negative one and I was the positive one.
Speaker ABooking a prediction.
Speaker BYou're booking the prediction of negative.
Speaker BNegative prediction.
Speaker BYou're booking it.
Speaker BYeah, I'm booking.
Speaker BI'm buying it.
Speaker BLet me confirm your staunch position on negative results.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker ASo we could talk about it.
Speaker AThe last inflation report that they're referring to, the 2.7% that came in, the expectations were 3.1%.
Speaker AThey're never that far off with the expectations, at least not unless it's negative.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AThis was a positive print and everyone was shocked by it.
Speaker ABut then when they dug Deeper.
Speaker AAnd they found out because they didn't have the housing shelter data which comprises of more than 40% of the core CPI inflation figure.
Speaker BThat's a problem.
Speaker AIt accounts for 40.
Speaker AWhat did they do?
Speaker ABecause they didn't have shelter inflation?
Speaker BThey made it up.
Speaker ANo, zero.
Speaker BI know, they put zero.
Speaker ALiterally nothing.
Speaker ABecause we don't have the data.
Speaker AAnd then that's a positive print.
Speaker AAnd the headline figure says that in all the markets got a little crazy that day.
Speaker AThey all said.
Speaker ABut once they all figured out why, then you're like, now we don't know what's, what's the next meeting going to?
Speaker BImagine your teacher, you know, I don't have the key for this exam.
Speaker BI'm gonna give everybody a zero and then we'll all have an average score lower.
Speaker BYeah, that's fine.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd listen, we all know we've talked about on the show at nauseam, right.
Speaker AThat whatever CPI says inflation is, it's, it's more than that.
Speaker AIt's probably double that.
Speaker AYeah, right.
Speaker ABecause they're not measuring actual cost of things.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AGoing up or down.
Speaker AThey're measuring lifestyle.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker ABecause they, they assume you're going to make an adjustment to, oh, I bought eggs.
Speaker AEggs are now way too expensive.
Speaker AI'm going to make a substitute for something else that's cheap, cheaper.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker ASo the real, real cost of inflation is probably closer to 6, 7, 8%.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker ACan't help myself, bro.
Speaker APlugged into the community.
Speaker AI mean it.
Speaker BWhy is the booby gesture though?
Speaker AThat's not, that's not.
Speaker AIt's not a movie.
Speaker AThat's not a movie.
Speaker BWhat gesture is that?
Speaker AIt's six or seven.
Speaker AIt's one or the other.
Speaker BThat's not at all.
Speaker AIt's always been historically, this, this motion.
Speaker AHistorically for the YouTube and Spotify listeners.
Speaker AYou back me on this.
Speaker AThis has always been one or the other.
Speaker ANot a booby.
Speaker BNo.
Speaker BWhen you do one or the other, when you do it repeatedly, that's the booby motion.
Speaker BEverybody knows it's iconic booby motion.
Speaker BI would have Google, I would have him research.
Speaker BThat is my computer.
Speaker AYeah, don't do that.
Speaker BI can't have booby motion in the search history.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BSo speaking of bad consumer price index reports, Thursday's release, known as the CPI index, was the first batch of inflation data to be published since the historically long government shutdown ended in mid November.
Speaker BOh, I think we have a problem.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BWell, if we had one shutdown and it released bad data and another shutdown that we're going to Release bad data and we're going to have more FOMC meetings where the chair leaves.
Speaker BThis could be a Molotov cocktail of problems for bad data reporting.
Speaker BBut I digress.
Speaker BI just think that perhaps there's some issues here we should think about.
Speaker BSome of the most significant easing in prices happened in the categories of food and what BLS calls shelter, which includes both rent and mortgages.
Speaker BIn September, prices in the food category were rising at a 3.1% annual rate.
Speaker BIn Tuesday's release that show, that slowed to 2.6%.
Speaker BHousing was increasing at an annual rate of 3.6% in September.
Speaker BIn November, that slowed to 3.0%.
Speaker BSo everyone's basically calling shenanigans.
Speaker BAnd of course, Saeed put this article in, but I took credit for it.
Speaker BPut it in the show notes from Fortune.
Speaker BWould you do me honor, Saeed?
Speaker AOh, I did.
Speaker AOh, thank you.
Speaker ARajille, can you pull it up for me, please?
Speaker BNo, no, I got you here.
Speaker AOh, thank you.
Speaker BYour quote's already in there.
Speaker BI already give you the quote.
Speaker BIt's written down for you.
Speaker AThis.
Speaker AThis from you put it in here for me?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ASee, look at you.
Speaker BI'm out here working.
Speaker BYou don't even know where it's at, do you?
Speaker ANo, I don't know where.
Speaker BSo go up.
Speaker BThere you go.
Speaker BThese are the show notes.
Speaker BThis is the first time.
Speaker BI understand.
Speaker ARight here.
Speaker BVery easy.
Speaker BThis is for Fortune on top there.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AHere we go.
Speaker AThis from Fortune.
Speaker AThis is a wacky number.
Speaker AEconomists cry foul as new government data assumes zero housing inflation and surprising November drops.
Speaker ASo, exactly what I alluded to earlier, the government's long delayed November inflation report appeared at first glance to deliver welcome news.
Speaker AConsumer prices rose only 2.7% from a year earlier, while core inflation cooled to 2.6%, the lowest reading in years.
Speaker ABut for many economists, the numbers immediately raise red flags, especially on housing, the single largest component of inflation.
Speaker AThis is a wacky number.
Speaker ADiane Swank, chief economist at kpmg, told.
Speaker BYou how hard it is to say people's names that are weird.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker ABecause you wanted.
Speaker ABecause you want to do it respectfully.
Speaker ABecause if it was just.
Speaker AIf it was just us.
Speaker AI mean, I may maybe would have said it differently, but.
Speaker AOkay, I want to be respectful.
Speaker BSwank.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASwank.
Speaker ANo, not Hillary.
Speaker BSwank.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSwonk.
Speaker ASpell it.
Speaker AS W O N K. Swank.
Speaker BSo it's past tense.
Speaker BSwank.
Speaker AShelter costs basically flatlined October by carrying forward September, when housing is that large a component that really matters.
Speaker AAnd it's true.
Speaker AYou gotta, if anything, if you're not gonna include something that accounts for 40% of the report, bruh, just delay the.
Speaker AThe reporting of the whole report at that point.
Speaker BI mean, you're taking a D off the table right there, right?
Speaker BIt's a D or better.
Speaker BDo you know what I'm saying?
Speaker A40% of this.
Speaker AWe're just gonna.
Speaker AWe don't have the data.
Speaker ALet's just go on with it.
Speaker BYeah, we're walking into this with the D. We can get an F, but that's the highest we're gonna get.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker AImagine.
Speaker AImagine taking like your bar exam and you just leave out, I don't know.
Speaker A40% of this exam is this one.
Speaker BImagine I take it like 40 times.
Speaker AIs this 40% of the exam is this one question.
Speaker AI'm just gonna.
Speaker AI don't have the answer to this one.
Speaker AI'm just gonna leave this one aside.
Speaker AJust grade me on this portion over here.
Speaker AYeah, that's not how this works.
Speaker BRight, Kim Kardashian.
Speaker BAnd then you use ChatGPT.
Speaker ANo, she did it.
Speaker BOh, Jill, come on now.
Speaker AStop it.
Speaker AShe's chat.
Speaker BShe blamed her frequent use of chat GPT for not passing the bar.
Speaker AThat's a bad look for ChatGPT.
Speaker BWell, I'm gonna go out.
Speaker BWe can have this conversation.
Speaker AObviously, she shouldn't be using ChatGPT.
Speaker AHold on.
Speaker BOkay, obviously, I don't know how studying.
Speaker AFor the bar, but, like, why?
Speaker ADude, that's like, what are you doing?
Speaker AYou're hurting a future brand deal for yourself.
Speaker BAccording to People.
Speaker BReliable source, Kim Kardashian blames failing her law exam on studying with CHAT GPT.
Speaker BI'll get mad and I'll yell at it.
Speaker AKim Kardashian says she used chat GPT to study for a law exam and blames the generative AI engine for failing.
Speaker AKardashian, 45, spoke about her AI usage for vanity Fair's lie detector test interview series.
Speaker ADuring the interview, Kardashians all affairs co star Tiana Taylor asked her if she uses chat GBT for life advice or dating advice, or if she viewed the chat bot as a friend.
Speaker AAfter answering no to the first three questions, Kardashian revealed that she has used chat GBT for legal advice.
Speaker BSo I have used chat GPT a lot.
Speaker BI continue to use it a lot.
Speaker BI will say I have recently pivoted to a heavier usage in Claude AI Anthropics baby over there.
Speaker BI prefer that now based on the work that I'm doing coding stuff like that from time to time.
Speaker BBut I have seen a palpable decline in the cognitive abilities of ChatGPT.
Speaker BJill saw one this earlier tonight.
Speaker BI asked it for a thumbnail image that corresponds for episode 315 and it said it gave me like five things that are amazing about cameras.
Speaker AI mean, what the hell, right?
Speaker BAnd Rajeel was like, wait, what?
Speaker AYeah, and this is exactly what, what would worry me and why I don't feel like ChatGPT could ever fully replace something like Google.
Speaker ARight, because look, and I had prepared this segment in case we were actually going to get into this.
Speaker AI didn't know.
Speaker AGenerative AI again, yeah, generative AI.
Speaker ANo, because there's a constant conversation of can ChatGPT ultimately replace Google?
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AAnd first of all, the innovation that comes out of Google in and of itself, I don't think ChatGPT could ever take away.
Speaker ARight, but search is bigger than an AI chatbot.
Speaker AIf they start getting stuff wrong and you get bad press like this, bro, I mean, it's going to take a long time for people to get comfortable enough to trust it again.
Speaker BI have seen instances where people have queried with Chat GPT on legal matters and Chat GPT cited cases that did.
Speaker ANot exist and actually cite it as.
Speaker BA cited full case site and everything did not exist.
Speaker BI have literally used it before to go, hey, I can't find this case.
Speaker BWhat is it?
Speaker BAnd Chat GPT will look and not tell you that it doesn't exist.
Speaker AWait, oh, not tell you?
Speaker BYeah, it'll just say I can't find it or, or having trouble located.
Speaker BHere's some other ones that, that fit the.
Speaker BYeah, what?
Speaker BYeah, see?
Speaker AYeah, problem.
Speaker BIt.
Speaker BYou have to go down this rabbit hole and this is tmi, but I'll share it.
Speaker BAnyway, I've been building the server for the overlays and the scripting that we're doing in this new show, which has an index file, it has a Python server, it has a styles CSS and It has some JavaScript and everything else built into it.
Speaker BAnd I had to go back and forth to these, you know, three or four different coding, you know, kind of vehicles to get the end result that I needed to.
Speaker BAnd all this stuff from a software perspective has to work with the hardware that we have in place.
Speaker BAnd it's a stream deck and atem, a rodecaster and then obviously the, the computer systems and the cameras, everything else.
Speaker BAnd in doing that, there are clear times where Chat GPT has led me down long rabbit holes, hours long, based on stuff that was simple as saying, like so, for example, today I was trying to adjust in the ATEM software the color profiles of the live stream so that they matched our color corrected versions that we put out on the podcast.
Speaker BBecause I want the look of the show to feel the same branding for the same.
Speaker BRight, right.
Speaker BAnd it said, yeah, just adjust this, this, and this, and the Atem blah, blah, blah.
Speaker BThat only works with road.
Speaker BIt only works with blackmagic cameras.
Speaker BSo I went down this rabbit hole of using on the ATEM to try to get them to adjust the cameras, because we use Sony cameras.
Speaker BBecause everything we do in here is Netflix, you know, quality.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AShout out to Netflix.
Speaker BShout out to Netflix.
Speaker AHope y' all listening.
Speaker BYeah, we get.
Speaker BYou know, you guys are on Spotify podcast video 1.
Speaker BYou know what I'm saying?
Speaker BYeah, you can check it out him.
Speaker BWe'll even be PG13 for you.
Speaker ACharlemagne just got the bag.
Speaker B$200 million.
Speaker AOh, my gosh.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BHow much?
Speaker AAfter taxes took his breath.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker B$5.
Speaker BCan I, can I, can I just be honest?
Speaker AOkay, Be honest.
Speaker BI don't get it.
Speaker AYou don't get Charlemagne?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AWhat is it?
Speaker BThe dry humor?
Speaker BIs that what it is?
Speaker ANo, no, hold on.
Speaker AYou don't get Charlie.
Speaker AWhat.
Speaker AWhat don't you get about him?
Speaker BSmart guy.
Speaker ABrilliant.
Speaker AYeah, Just brilliant marketer.
Speaker BI find the people that he does the podcast with.
Speaker AHe's a person.
Speaker AOh, yeah, yeah, that.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ANo, but he's a morning talk show radio.
Speaker AThat's where he started, right?
Speaker APersonality.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker ASo he's.
Speaker BBut starts a lot of fights too.
Speaker AYeah, he knows how to go viral, man.
Speaker AGrand opening, grand closing.
Speaker AThat's him.
Speaker BDo you think that his fight with Birdman.
Speaker BBirdman's one.
Speaker APut some respect on my name.
Speaker BPut some respect on my name.
Speaker BAnd what's the other one that he got?
Speaker BThe rock.
Speaker BDame Dash.
Speaker BOh, that one.
Speaker AThat was that recent one.
Speaker AThat was great.
Speaker BDo you think he.
Speaker BThat wasn't scripted.
Speaker ANo, none of that scripted.
Speaker AAnd he welcomes it all, you know, and.
Speaker ABut this is long in the making, man.
Speaker AI think he's from South Carolina, where he started, like in a small radio shop there.
Speaker AAnd he just is plugged into the community and it's really.
Speaker AI think it's an east coast thing, you know, the beef.
Speaker ANo, no, just him and how he resonates with people more so on the East Coast.
Speaker AI mean, I mean, it's.
Speaker AI mean, it's.
Speaker AThey're from New York, so there's that.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BI'm just saying, like, he does.
Speaker BLike, is he on with Schultz?
Speaker AHe does my brilliant idiots with Schultz.
Speaker BOkay, so, yeah, I look at that show and I go, okay, Schultz carries that then.
Speaker ADude, that show has been going on for a lot longer than Schultz being big.
Speaker ABelieve that.
Speaker AYeah, that show, that show's been going on.
Speaker AHe carried that show for a long time.
Speaker ANow it's all Schultz.
Speaker AYeah, he's the name, he's the draw.
Speaker BBut how many podcasts is he on?
Speaker ASchultz, that's his.
Speaker AHis is just flagrant and brilliant idiots.
Speaker AThose are the only two.
Speaker BThere's a two big podcast.
Speaker AOh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker AAnd he's got.
Speaker AAnd he's got a lot to do with that.
Speaker AAnd he's.
Speaker AAnd he's a brilliant marketer too.
Speaker BHow many days a week is that dude recording podcasts?
Speaker BHe's clearly doing laughs around us.
Speaker AOh, and traveling, doing his shows.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BI do stuff like that.
Speaker BHow can I complain about the work that I got to do?
Speaker AYeah, no, but, but Charlemagne is very authentic.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker ABut he's.
Speaker AHe's also extremely savvy with controlling the narrative.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker BIs that you think a good quality?
Speaker BWhat?
Speaker AControlling the narratives?
Speaker AProbably the best.
Speaker AOne of the best qualities you could have.
Speaker BI mean, I don't know, man.
Speaker AYou don't.
Speaker BIf you were in high school and someone controlled the narrative about you, you'd be very upset.
Speaker ANo, but I'm saying to be able to control the narrative is an amazing quality.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AI mean, for a long time, that's how Kanye got big.
Speaker AThat is the only reason, I mean, aside from his God gifted talent of making music.
Speaker ABut he knew how to stay relevant for better or for worse.
Speaker BRight?
Speaker BWorse, it seems.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AHe always took the, the unpopular thing and found a way, like, I'm gonna go for the unpopular thing and make it popular until it got to the point where it got well.
Speaker AAnd that's a little.
Speaker AThat's really, really unpopular and you shouldn't be doing that.
Speaker BThere's Tupac too, who arguably had a very different personality.
Speaker BYou know, there's rumors that he was very flamboyantly gay.
Speaker AOh, that.
Speaker AThat was.
Speaker AYeah, he was auditioning for a role.
Speaker ARight, right.
Speaker AI've seen that.
Speaker BAnd then that.
Speaker BThat was his young true self and everything.
Speaker BWe saw him playing a part, you know, controlling the narrative.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BI mean, I don't care when.
Speaker BI still love his music.
Speaker AYeah, that's the thing.
Speaker AWhen you see, like, I don't know what to make.
Speaker BMichael Jackson didn't have a soft voice.
Speaker BHe told all of this.
Speaker AI don't know what to make about that because you I see it.
Speaker AI feel like more times than not, when there's a celebrity that's really big and give any given industry, and then they now, especially now, they can go back and find footage of you doing something completely different.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker ALike, I look at, like, Lady Gaga, right?
Speaker AThere used to be this show, like on MTV back in the day, called Boiling Points, where they push people to the edge and they, they.
Speaker AIt's like they're.
Speaker AThey're.
Speaker AIt's like.
Speaker AIt's like.
Speaker AWhat's it called?
Speaker AWhat's that show with Ashton Kutcher?
Speaker APunk.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ABut punked for, like, random people.
Speaker AAt least that's how they portrayed it to me.
Speaker AAnd she was one of the random people.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AAnd you're like, this doesn't really makes sense.
Speaker ACome on, what are the odds?
Speaker AWhat are the odds?
Speaker ABefore she was famous, this is pre, like her becoming Lady Gaga.
Speaker BSo maybe she just was always looking for fame.
Speaker AYeah, always.
Speaker ABut that's what I'm saying.
Speaker AI feel like more times than not, you can go back.
Speaker AYou're going to be able to go back and find old footage of people.
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker AFor me, it's like the.
Speaker AThe quit.
Speaker AI don't know what to make of it.
Speaker AI'm not making any claims, but for me, I find it very odd that.
Speaker BPeople persevere in fields until they find something that makes them successful.
Speaker BIs that what it is?
Speaker ANo, but it's clearly.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ASo if that's the case, it, like, you persevered in a field.
Speaker ASo what were you acting?
Speaker AYou're.
Speaker AYou're acting in that role.
Speaker BI think she was a creative.
Speaker BI think a lot of those people fall into that kind of ethos, if you will.
Speaker BThey're in that environment.
Speaker BLike, look at me.
Speaker BI'm.
Speaker BWhat am I, like, a wannabe media personality now?
Speaker BWhat the hell?
Speaker BPeople are like, you're.
Speaker BYou're a banker and a lawyer.
Speaker BLike, why are you doing a podcast?
Speaker BBecause I want to, bro.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker ANo, but.
Speaker ANo, but one way you.
Speaker AYou're trying to find fame, and the other is you're portraying yourself, not looking to try fame, a fine fame, but you just, like, stumbled into it.
Speaker ASomething completely that's not adjacent.
Speaker BDoesn't everybody want fame until they get too much of it?
Speaker BLike, you want.
Speaker BYou want a taste of fame.
Speaker BYou don't want to live it.
Speaker BAnd I mean, like, you want to be able to go somewhere and sign something and be, like, walking away.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AYou want to be dead mouse where, like, you could have a.
Speaker AYou could be famous.
Speaker AFor when I.
Speaker AWhen I wear this, When I take it off.
Speaker AYou never know who I am.
Speaker BYeah, brilliant.
Speaker BExcept somebody else puts on the dead mouse hat and walks around.
Speaker BLittle problem.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BOr your acon.
Speaker BAnd send your brother to concerts for you.
Speaker AIs that what he does?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYou didn't hear this?
Speaker BHis brother looks a lot like him.
Speaker BSo he got in trouble at one point because he used to send his brother two concerts as him, and they would do, like, two concerts on the same day.
Speaker AHe's not the same.
Speaker AI mean, he's not the only person that does this.
Speaker AThere's no.
Speaker AI mean, there's got to be so many people.
Speaker AI feel like, you know, have you ever been to, like, a club in Vegas?
Speaker ALike back in the day when you used to go and go out?
Speaker AYes.
Speaker AYou have?
Speaker ANo.
Speaker AThat's a lie, Christopher.
Speaker BNever been.
Speaker AYou've taken me.
Speaker BWhere is this Vegas place?
Speaker ARight?
Speaker AAnd then they always promote this celebrity coming on stage later tonight.
Speaker AAnd they come out and you're like, everyone in this place has had too many drinks to be able to tell if this is actually the person or not.
Speaker AI don't feel like it is.
Speaker BThey just license their usage, likeness.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BAnd all the lights behind them, the smoke, and you're like, is that really?
Speaker AI can't tell.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AI feel like you didn't hit that line the way you normally do.
Speaker BThat doesn't look like Shaq.
Speaker BIt looks like a dude standing on a crate.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ALike, I've been.
Speaker AI've been to one.
Speaker AThe one that stood out to me is I saw Ludicrous perform.
Speaker AI'm like, that's not Ludicrous.
Speaker BYou're lip syncing.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AI'm not buying it.
Speaker BThrow them both.
Speaker BSounds very consistent.
Speaker AYeah, man.
Speaker BThrow them bows.
Speaker BI feel.
Speaker AI feel like you don't remember that life.
Speaker AThat was.
Speaker AThat was many moons ago for you.
Speaker BI am not that guy.
Speaker AYou're not.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BNot that guy anymore.
Speaker AYou lived it.
Speaker BYou moved on.
Speaker BI lived a good amount of that.
Speaker AAnd we're talking about before the show.
Speaker AI mean, so this show's coming out in the new year, but for us, New Year's will be this coming Wednesday.
Speaker AAnd we were all talking.
Speaker AI think all three of us agreed that it ain't for us.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AOr going out, at least.
Speaker AI actually, personally.
Speaker ANew Year's is actually my favorite holiday.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AI love spending with the family right at home.
Speaker AAnd we do.
Speaker ALike, last year, we created our own Mario.
Speaker ALike, Mario party inside our house where we're doing a bunch of mini Games.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AAnd then this year, they want to reenact or recreate our own version of Dude Perfects Overtime.
Speaker AI don't know if you've ever seen that show that they make.
Speaker AI have not, but they want me to record it.
Speaker AAnd, like, they set up a table where they discuss it.
Speaker AIf you.
Speaker AIf you know the structure, format of the show, it's pretty cool.
Speaker AAnd each person has their own, like, little segment.
Speaker ABut I like doing stuff like that.
Speaker ANot driving on the road.
Speaker BI. I'll be watching Stranger Things after we do a nice little three, two.
Speaker BOne thing for my son while he goes to bed on east coast time.
Speaker AEast coast time.
Speaker BAnd then we'll do Stranger Things to wrap the night up.
Speaker BAnd I will fall asleep next to my lovely bride.
Speaker BRejeel, you.
Speaker ANo plans right now?
Speaker AJust staying home.
Speaker ANo plans.
Speaker BVery specific.
Speaker AGood to watch Stranger Things.
Speaker ANo, I've never seen an episode before.
Speaker AOh, why do I feel like he was.
Speaker AHe's like.
Speaker AHe's.
Speaker AI felt like when I first met you that you were plugged into, like, all the TV shows and movies.
Speaker AIs that not the case?
Speaker BHe's trying to racially confuse you with a rune, and I will not stand.
Speaker AThat's not.
Speaker AHold on.
Speaker AThat's not.
Speaker AThat's not it.
Speaker AThat's not it.
Speaker AThat's not it.
Speaker ANo, no, no, no.
Speaker AYou're into TV shows, though.
Speaker ATV shows are your thing.
Speaker AYou like TV shows.
Speaker BThat's not actually at all.
Speaker ASee?
Speaker AYes, it is.
Speaker BHe's just playing.
Speaker BPlacating you, dude.
Speaker BHe's just playing.
Speaker BWhat was the last TV show you watched for Jill?
Speaker AGrey's Anatomy.
Speaker BThat's not a guy.
Speaker AHey, my guy.
Speaker AThat's why I knew I liked you.
Speaker BMcDreamy in 2017.
Speaker BThat's when he watched it.
Speaker AThat's not true.
Speaker ANo, no.
Speaker AThe current seasons.
Speaker AYeah, I'm.
Speaker AI'm up to date.
Speaker AUp 20 seasons.
Speaker AIn how many seasons?
Speaker A23, I think.
Speaker AI think 23.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ANo, my wife.
Speaker ASee, what happens is.
Speaker ATrue story.
Speaker ATrue story.
Speaker AStarts watching the show, and then, like, no, I'm up.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ANext.
Speaker AYou know, I'm hooked.
Speaker AOh, bro.
Speaker AThe show.
Speaker AI'm not gonna lie to you.
Speaker AI was five.
Speaker AI was my.
Speaker AMy wife, and we watched the first five seasons, okay?
Speaker AAnd then I predicted the season finale on the.
Speaker AFor the fifth season, and she's like, I'm never watching the show with you again.
Speaker AAnd that's why.
Speaker AThat's when we stopped.
Speaker AWhen I forget his name.
Speaker ABut the guy who got into an accident was in a full body cast, and signed the hand 007.
Speaker AI was like, oh, that's.
Speaker AThat's the guy who.
Speaker AI predicted that.
Speaker AI predicted that ending.
Speaker AHopefully, if you haven't seen it.
Speaker ASorry, I just ruined it for you.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AHe was one of my favorite characters.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AIt was everyone's favorite character.
Speaker AThere's a lot of, like, controversy.
Speaker AThis guy is so lost.
Speaker ABut hold on.
Speaker ATrue story.
Speaker ANot that it.
Speaker ANot that anyone cares.
Speaker BNobody.
Speaker ANobody cares.
Speaker ANobody cares.
Speaker ABut were you ever into wrestling?
Speaker ALike, WWF?
Speaker AYes.
Speaker AWWE.
Speaker AWWF.
Speaker AStone Cold the Rock.
Speaker ANever.
Speaker ANever seen you into Austin 316 all the way, Right?
Speaker ASo we.
Speaker AI was getting a rundown on, like, updates on what's going on now, current state of events with wwe, because I'm completely out of touch, right?
Speaker ABut from, like, a younger cousin and how I was in the bag.
Speaker AShe's like, why.
Speaker AYou know this is fake, right?
Speaker AWhy are you watching this like you watch Grey's Anatomy?
Speaker BIt's.
Speaker AThe entire thing is fake.
Speaker AWhy?
Speaker AIt's.
Speaker AIt's the same thing.
Speaker ANobody really got hurt.
Speaker ANobody really got sick.
Speaker AWWE is the same thing.
Speaker AExcept these guys are athletes.
Speaker AThey do get hurt.
Speaker AThese guys actually get hurt.
Speaker AI mean, you look at Mankind getting slammed on a thousand attacks.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AJumping off a cage.
Speaker ASteel cage.
Speaker AYou gotta.
Speaker BI gotta get the search.
Speaker AHold on.
Speaker BYour.
Speaker AYour lack of appreciation for this is palpable.
Speaker BLook, there's a whole category in my brain that I can access because I'm not tapping into this.
Speaker BUseless.
Speaker AThis is not useless.
Speaker AThis is entertainment, man.
Speaker BI'm all for entertainment from this decade.
Speaker AFrom.
Speaker BHold on.
Speaker BLike, you guys are stuck in 1990 while I'm watching a show in the 1980s.
Speaker ACome on, bro.
Speaker BYou gotta be.
Speaker AYou gotta be plugged in.
Speaker BHuh?
Speaker AYou gotta be plugged.
Speaker ALogan Paul's in and out.
Speaker BFirst of all, I am plugged in.
Speaker BI'm building us a show.
Speaker BOkay, hold on.
Speaker AI also am not plugged into WWE anymore.
Speaker AThat's why I want the update.
Speaker ABut I'm like, I hope.
Speaker AI hope it makes a comeback, man.
Speaker ABecause it was something special when we were kids.
Speaker BI have no desire to watch that.
Speaker AYou had no desire?
Speaker AWhat if.
Speaker AWhat if Carter was into it?
Speaker BI'd watch every single damn one.
Speaker AYeah, see, Exactly.
Speaker AI. I look at it now.
Speaker AIt's like, man, like, the stuff we grew up on was so edgy.
Speaker ALike, the move, the movies, the shows.
Speaker ALook at Ren and Stimpy.
Speaker ARen and Stimp.
Speaker ARen and Stimpy's a good one.
Speaker AThe Simpsons, dude.
Speaker ANow, like, my kids aren't watching any of this stuff.
Speaker AYeah, none of it.
Speaker BAnd yet they're exposed to more nasty stuff.
Speaker AWay more nasty stuff.
Speaker BWeird, right?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BMarried to children.
Speaker BCan't make that today.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker AOne of the kids in Adam's class, right before they went on break, you know, six sevens going crazy.
Speaker AThey're all.
Speaker AThey're all saying that.
Speaker AAnd then one kid was a little too hip to 6, 9, started saying 6, 9 in class.
Speaker ANobody knows what's up.
Speaker AThe teachers tells them, hey, we're cutting this out completely.
Speaker ANo, because of that.
Speaker ANo more six, seven.
Speaker ANo one's even gonna reference six, nine.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AAnd Adam comes on and goes, dad, what's six, nine?
Speaker AOh, it's a rapper.
Speaker AYeah, I'll say that.
Speaker AIt's Takashi.
Speaker BYou love truffle butter.
Speaker AThat.
Speaker AAnd that's where we end the show.
Speaker BWhat are you talking about?
Speaker AThat's the cue.
Speaker BHe likes French restaurants.
Speaker AAnother guy that was really, really Good.
Speaker BHold on.
Speaker ATekashi 6ix9ine.
Speaker AAnother guy that was really good at controlling the narrative.
Speaker BFor a while.
Speaker BFor a while.
Speaker AFor a while.
Speaker BThat's not gonna be my reference point.
Speaker BYou keep your opinions to yourself.
Speaker BDude.
Speaker BHow.
Speaker AHe didn't even make good.
Speaker AHe didn't even make good music.
Speaker BI'm a little pump guy.
Speaker BThat's over now.
Speaker AThat's worse.
Speaker AGucci gang.
Speaker AGucci gang.
Speaker BSee, he knows.
Speaker AThat was a great song.
Speaker BIt was, right?
Speaker ADon't.
Speaker ADon't say it was.
Speaker BIt was.
Speaker BOh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BAll right.
Speaker BHe's sober now.
Speaker AYou following him?
Speaker BOf course I do.
Speaker AWhat's he up to now?
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker AWhat's he doing?
Speaker BI have no idea.
Speaker ALiving on.
Speaker ALiving off dividends.
Speaker AThe way these guys spin, bro, there's no way.
Speaker BIt's got to be drug money.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker BI'm in the wrong business.
Speaker BI need another hair transplant and some colored hair.
Speaker AOh, boy.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ANo, you can't go color.
Speaker AIf you go colored hair, then it's game over for me.
Speaker BI already got a mullet.
Speaker ABut you're not gonna color.
Speaker AYou would never color your hair, would you?
Speaker BWhy'd you stroke your beard when you.
Speaker ASaid, because I have gray hair, too?
Speaker BNo, no, not like that.
Speaker BI was like, pink.
Speaker AOh, oh, okay.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker APink or blue?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BI feel like that's gonna give me attention on podcasts from now on.
Speaker AOh, gender reveal.
Speaker BClearly, my opinion ain't doing it.
Speaker ALast couple shows have been doing really good, though.
Speaker BLast one got, like, four views.
Speaker ANo, no, that one.
Speaker AThat one was because the Christmas episode, people are with their families.
Speaker BBut streaming platforms got, like, a lot.
Speaker AYeah, did a lot, but.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnyways.
Speaker BAll right, well, let's call it a rat before we make any more offensive commentary, okay?
Speaker AYou guys got anything else?
Speaker AHappy New Year's.
Speaker ABe safe.
Speaker BHappy New Year, everybody.
Speaker AHappy New Year.
Speaker AThanks for being on this ride with us.
Speaker BLast unkey mai of the year.
Speaker AOh, yeah, but it's the New Year, so.
Speaker AIt's the first of the new year.
Speaker BYeah, but it's last for us.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BOkay, bye.
Speaker BGod, I can't believe you did that.
Speaker AGood night, everybody.
