[00:00:00] J.Rosemarie: Thank you for joining me today, Dorit. Can you please share more about your work and what you do?

[00:00:08] Dorit P: Thank you for having me. Well, I'm a mom and a wife with three daughters. Coming from a family of mostly women, I've always been connected to the experiences of women and mothers. When I started my own family, I realized that the fairy tale image of motherhood doesn't always align with reality. I found myself feeling exhausted, drained, and uninspired, struggling to balance my responsibilities. It was challenging to understand how I was expected to raise emotionally healthy children and maintain a strong relationship with my partner while feeling so depleted. I began seeking answers and deepening my spiritual journey with my husband. One day, in a moment of exhaustion and self-reflection, I stumbled upon a book by Dr. Christiane Northrup that shed light on the female body and its connection to our overall well-being. It introduced me to the concept of cycle thinking, which involves aligning our eating and lifestyle habits with the different phases of our menstrual cycle. I realized that as women, we all share this common experience and can benefit from understanding and embracing our natural rhythms. By nourishing our bodies and honoring our cyclical nature, we can cultivate joy and restore balance in our lives. This realization led me to embark on a personal journey of self-discovery and empowerment as a woman, and now I'm passionate about sharing this knowledge and empowering other women to embrace their menstrual cycles and live fulfilling lives.

[00:09:00] J.Rosemarie: Thank you for sharing your story, Dorit. It's important for us as women to prioritize self-care and understand the impact it has on our relationships and overall well-being. Your insights can be incredibly valuable to many women out there who may be going through similar experiences.

[00:13:46] Dorit P: ...a little bit and have, mm-hmm, you know, the workload shared. So it's really about being resourceful and using the resources that you have in a way that fills you up, right? And in a way that allows you to restore, yes, so that you have the 1, 2, 3 days of just rest and have, mm-hmm, you know, the workload off your shoulders. And I think it's important for all moms to realize that they have that power within them, whether they're in a partnership or they're single moms. It's about understanding your worth and recognizing that you deserve to prioritize yourself and your well-being.

[00:14:20] J.Rosemarie: Absolutely. I completely agree with you, Dorit. And it's such an important message to spread because so often we neglect ourselves and put everyone else's needs above our own. And as you said, it's not just about the physical rest, but also the emotional and mental restoration that comes with honoring our natural rhythms. And I think it's incredible how you've taken charge of your own well-being and used your journey to inspire other women to do the same.

[00:14:46] Dorit P: Thank you, Jennifer. It has been a transformative experience for me, and I feel a deep sense of purpose in sharing this knowledge and empowering other women. We are not meant to suffer in silence or believe that exhaustion and overwhelm are normal. There is a better way to live and thrive as women, and it starts with embracing our menstrual cycles and honoring ourselves as the incredible beings we are.

[00:15:12] J.Rosemarie: Absolutely, Dorit. Thank you so much for joining me today and sharing your story and insights. I know that many listeners will resonate with your experiences and find inspiration in your journey towards self-reclamation and well-being. It's been a pleasure talking with you.

[00:15:28] Dorit P: Thank you, Jennifer. The pleasure is mine. I hope our conversation can create positive change and encourage women to embrace their cycles and prioritize their own health and happiness. We all deserve to live vibrant, fulfilling lives, and I truly believe it's within our reach. Thank you for having me on the show.

[00:15:47] J.Rosemarie: Thank you, Dorit. And to all our listeners, thank you for tuning in. Remember to take care of yourselves and honor your well-being. Until next time, take care and be well. Goodbye.
