Speaker BHello everyone and welcome back to the Elevated Edit podcast.
Speaker BI hope y'all had an amazing Christmas holiday.
Speaker BI know we certainly did.
Speaker BEven though I ate entirely too much, I slept until 9:30 on Christmas and then I woke up and got ready and we went and ate a huge lunch and then I took like a three hour nap and then we went to bed early.
Speaker BSo Christmas Day was full of rest, which maybe was exactly what I needed.
Speaker BAnd if y'all are like us, the holiday season is not over yet.
Speaker BWe are going out of town for the New Year's holiday.
Speaker BWe're going to Austin to check some things off of our Austin bucket list and just enjoy a couple of days out of town together.
Speaker BAnd that is why today's short and sweet episode is going to be very short and sweet.
Speaker BBecause if y'all know me as much as I try, I procrastinate packing until the last minute.
Speaker BSo I need to go pack my suitcase.
Speaker BSo I'm not doing it literally, as we are trying to head out of the door.
Speaker BAnd today we're going to talk about a season that I am really leaning into.
Speaker BI'm in a lot of different mastermind groups and I know a lot of other women are leaning into this as well.
Speaker BAnd I think it's exciting because it's almost the opposite of what has been portrayed in the media and on social media for the last couple of years, I would say up to the last decade.
Speaker BAnd that is leaning into a season of Quiet Hustle.
Speaker BBuilding your dreams without the noise.
Speaker BSo like I said, in today's world, everyone is chasing the hustle.
Speaker BConstantly grinding, always posting about accomplishments and how hard we're working and always proving, you know, how great we are, all the things that we're doing.
Speaker BAnd I'm raising my hand because I have been super guilty of that as well.
Speaker BBut one thing I've learned is that the most powerful way to build your dream life isn't through the noise, but it's through quiet, focused action.
Speaker BSo today we're going to talk about the quiet Hustle.
Speaker BWorking on your dreams with intention and depth, without the need for constant validation or external praise.
Speaker BFor me personally, I've learned that real success isn't in being super loud.
Speaker BIt's in being deeply focused and disciplined, which is what I'm embracing more than ever.
Speaker BToday, I'll share how you can start building your dreams quietly, with purpose, and without burning out.
Speaker BLet's define what Quiet Hustle is.
Speaker BQuiet Hustle is all about choosing intentional, focused action over chaos and noise.
Speaker BIt's about getting clear on what matters and working towards your goals with a steady and calm determination.
Speaker BAnd this is so powerful because when you focus on the work without getting distracted by comparison and social media or the pressure to hustle harder, that is where real growth happens.
Speaker BAnd quiet Hustle also allows you to stay grounded while pursuing your goals.
Speaker BAnd this is great because slow, steady growth, instead of rushing and doing work that actually moves the needle, whether or not anyone notices, all of this builds real, lasting success.
Speaker BSo let's talk about a couple of ways that we can embrace the quiet hustle in our lives.
Speaker BNumber one, focus on deep work.
Speaker BThis is so important, especially in today's world, because there are so many distractions.
Speaker BAnd with marketing, there are so many different ways that companies and brands tell you, oh, you have to do this in order to be successful.
Speaker BIf you want to do this, you need to buy the new course.
Speaker BIf you want to do this, you have to read this book.
Speaker BLike, there's all these.
Speaker BIf you want to, you have to.
Speaker BAnd it's really hard to do deep work because you go down a rabbit hole.
Speaker BAnd when you start doing one thing, all of a sudden you realize you need to be doing 52 things.
Speaker BBut with Quiet Hustle, instead of jumping between tasks, we are focusing on the one thing that will move us forward.
Speaker BDeep work is all about immersion without distractions.
Speaker BSo a quick tip for this is to dedicate 30 to 45 minutes each day to focus deeply on one task.
Speaker BNo emails, no notifications, just full, deep immersion.
Speaker BAnd if 30 to 45 minutes sounds like a lot to you, it was for me when I first started on this journey.
Speaker BTime block, 15 minutes.
Speaker BAnd when I say time block, like, I set an actual timer on my phone.
Speaker BIf you are amazing at focus, you can skip this step.
Speaker BBut for me, that was such a game changer because I tell myself, like, okay, from this time, this starts to when the timer goes off, like, you have to do deep, focused work.
Speaker BAnd I usually can go a little bit longer, but it just kind of gets my mind and like a, okay, I don't have to do this for five hours.
Speaker BIt's just 15 minutes.
Speaker BI can focus for 15 minutes, and it has helped me so much.
Speaker BNumber two, be intentional with your time.
Speaker BThe quiet hustle means saying no to things that don't align with your bigger vision.
Speaker BIt's about protecting your time and using it wisely once again.
Speaker BThis is really difficult in today's day and age.
Speaker BWe are being pulled in a thousand different directions.
Speaker BBut if we want to make progress on big goals, whether they are personal or professional, we have to make priorities.
Speaker BIt's just what it is.
Speaker BAnd for me, it has helped to write down my top three priorities for the week and anything outside of that, either I have to delegate it to someone else, or I have to defer it to a later time on the calendar.
Speaker BCalendar.
Speaker BOr I have to let it go.
Speaker BAnd that's happened quite a bit here lately is, you know, an idea will come to me or an opportunity will come to me, and I'll have to look at my top three priorities.
Speaker BAnd I'm like, I just.
Speaker BI can't do that right now or I can't do that at all.
Speaker BThe answer is just no.
Speaker BI feel like when you're setting boundaries and you say not right now or maybe at a later time, and you don't really mean it, that hurts you and the other person.
Speaker BThat's just a little quick tip that I am discovering here lately is when I started setting boundaries, I was like.
Blakely RamseyOh, well, that's just.
Speaker BIt just doesn't work for me right now.
Speaker BOr maybe we can come back to that.
Speaker BAnd now I'm like, no, I appreciate the offer, but that just doesn't work for me, period.
Speaker BAnd it doesn't leave the door open.
Speaker BIt doesn't make things awkward.
Speaker BIt doesn't hurt feelings later on down the road.
Speaker BIt's just a no.
Speaker B3.
Speaker BBlock out the noise.
Speaker BThe quiet hustle thrives in silence.
Speaker BWe live in a world full of distractions, but to build something meaningful, you have to protect your focus.
Speaker BSo a quick tip for this one is set boundaries with your social media or whatever it is that keeps you distracted.
Speaker BFor me, it was social media, and I would look at my time.
Speaker BYou know, on your iPhone, they show you the time you spent on different apps.
Speaker BAnd I was like, oh, my goodness, that is out of control.
Speaker BLike, what could I have gotten done in that time?
Speaker BAnd so for me, I deleted Facebook from my phone.
Speaker BI obviously still have an account, and I can get on there on my laptop, but I don't need instant access to see what everyone else is doing all day, every day, because I'm so freaking nosy.
Speaker BI want to go look.
Speaker BAnd I was spending three hours a day on Facebook and that's so embarrassing, but it was out of control.
Speaker BAnd that wasn't even getting started on TikTok.
Speaker BLike, I had to delete TikTok too.
Speaker BThat one was definitely a time suck for me.
Speaker BBut whatever it is that you are struggling with, like set boundaries for yourself and remember that this comes from like a place of self love and not a place of punishment and just see if that works for you.
Speaker BFor me, now that I have been off of Facebook, when I get on there, I'm like, oh, this is such bad energy.
Speaker BBut that's a whole different episode.
Speaker BAn episode just on Facebook.
Speaker BAnd number four, celebrate small wins.
Speaker BThe quiet hustle isn't about shouting from the rooftops.
Speaker BIt's about seeing the incremental progress and celebrating each small step.
Speaker BThis one has been huge for me because I used to be someone who would accomplish something really great, and I would not even take five minutes to be happy about it or excited about it.
Speaker BI would just jump straight into the next thing.
Speaker BAnd I always had this feeling of never accomplishing anything.
Speaker BAnd in reality, I was accomplishing a lot.
Speaker BBut because I wasn't letting myself celebrate the small wins, it just.
Speaker BIt felt like I was doing nothing all the time.
Speaker BSo a quick tip for this one is at the end of each week, take a moment to reflect on your small wins.
Speaker BRecognize the process, recognize the progress, no matter how small.
Speaker BAnd this might seem really cheesy and really corny at first, like it was for me, but now when I look back on my week, I'm like, whoa, I got a lot done this week.
Speaker BAnd I do this for professional and personal life because I feel like sometimes my personal life, as it should, it gets way more of my attention.
Speaker BAnd I look at my professional things that I got accomplished, and the list is so small compared to my personal life.
Speaker BBut then I look and I realize I spent a ton of time with friends, and I spent a lot of time with my husband, and I connected with someone I went to college with.
Speaker BAnd those things are starting to matter a lot more to me than, like, my professional wins.
Speaker BSo celebrate your wins no matter how small.
Speaker BAnd all of this is so great because it leads to sustainable success.
Speaker BWhen you embrace quiet hustle, you're able to sustain your energy over the long term.
Speaker BThe loud hustle can lead to burnout and stress, and I know that firsthand because that's where I ended up.
Speaker BBut focusing on deep, intentional work keeps you balanced real growth happens in the quiet moments, the small, consistent actions that add up over time.
Speaker BThat's what separates temporary success from sustainable, meaningful success.
Speaker BAnd I love all of this.
Speaker BI love that this is such a topic on Instagram right now and threads if you're on there.
Speaker BBecause the Quiet Hustle is all about focus, focusing on what matters most and blocking out the distractions and working intentionally.
Speaker BIt's about real growth that doesn't need to be flaunted.
Speaker BIt just happens quietly and powerfully.
Speaker BAnd the best thing about Quiet Hustle is you can start your Quiet Hustle at any time.
Speaker BYou can choose to focus on deep work, protect your time, and celebrate the small steps you take towards your big vision.
Speaker BSo this week I challenge you to take one step towards Quiet Hustle.
Speaker BYou don't have to do all the things all at once.
Speaker BDo one thing this week that moves you towards Quiet Hustle, whether it is prioritizing a deep work session.
Speaker BAnd like I said, make it small.
Speaker BMake it 15 minutes.
Speaker BIf you can do one thing focused for 15 minutes, you're gonna be ahead of like 98% of people right now because there's so many people who can't sit down and do that.
Speaker BSo don't get down yourself if you can't do 30 to 45 minutes or if you struggle even with the 15.
Speaker BLike you're at least trying.
Speaker BAnd you are going to.
Speaker BIf you stay consistent with it, you're going to be light years ahead of other people.
Speaker BBut prioritize deep work.
Speaker BSet boundaries with your time.
Speaker BBut whatever it is that you do this week, let me know what you're doing.
Speaker BShare it with me on Instagram so that way I can show others in the community that it is possible that we are all starting in a really wherever we're starting at.
Speaker BIt might not be a perfect place, but we are starting and we are going to build slowly together and we are going to hustle quietly.
Speaker BI hope that y'all have an amazing rest of your day and I'll see y'all in the next episode.
