Speaker A

Hello and welcome back to the Elevated Edit podcast.

Speaker A

Y'all know I love to bring y'all the heat on these Friday short and sweet episodes.

Speaker A

And so today I'm going to pull back the curtains and be a little vulnerable with y'all.

Speaker A

I feel like I am every week, but especially this episode, because there is one particular thing that I have been processing and working through this week, and if you are experiencing anything similar, I want to make sure that you know that you're not alone, because this is something I don't really feel like is talked about a whole lot in this context.

Speaker A

And so I'm hoping that today really packs a punch.

Speaker A

So I'm mentally prepared when I launch the company all of two weeks ago for certain things to.

Speaker A

To feel uncomfortable.

Speaker A

I knew I was going to end up with, you know, some website issues we had to deal with immediately, some ad issues that needed to be deal with immediately, some systems issues.

Speaker A

As far as, like, it's one thing to role play and set up systems for a coaching program when you don't have any coaching clients, but when you actually launch said coaching product and you have actual clients, like, now I'm, I'm in it, and so I'm like, okay, I've got to, you know, create a system for their.

Speaker A

Their onboarding, and I've got to create a system for this.

Speaker A

And.

Speaker A

Oh, well, in.

Speaker A

In real life, this doesn't actually make sense here, you know, like, there's been a lot of just little tweaks, a lot of little tweaking, but I knew was going to be uncomfortable and it was all going to kind of hit me at once.

Speaker A

But one thing that I did not account for was how sensitive I was going to be during this launch season.

Speaker A

So I have gotten.

Speaker A

First, I want to say I've gotten nothing but positive feedback.

Speaker A

Everyone has been so kind and everyone has been so encouraging.

Speaker A

It has felt so good.

Speaker A

Like, I've gotten no negative feedback.

Speaker A

I haven't had anyone say anything with any kind of ill intent.

Speaker A

However, there is still this, I don't know, like, rawness.

Speaker A

Like, I feel like I've got, I don't know, Like I'm just so sensitive about the company and almost every little comment, even a compliment, like, makes me like hurt a little bit.

Speaker A

Like, I don't know, it's the hardest thing to explain but I think because, and I was processing this on my walk this morning and I was like, why am I so sensitive right now?

Speaker A

Like me and my husband actually got in not an argument last night, but like we had like a pretty big disagreement.

Speaker A

And me and him usually like, don't, we don't mix business and personal.

Speaker A

Like we keep everything pretty separate.

Speaker A

And he made a completely, completely, completely innocent like offhanded remark, like trying to help, but I'm in such a sensitive place about the company and it's not even from a place of overwhelm.

Speaker A

I'm just so passionate about the mission and the vision and I have such a, like a forward drive and I know exactly like what it's going to take to make this vision come to life.

Speaker A

And like his well meaning comment just like stung like a bee.

Speaker A

I mean like I was like crying.

Speaker A

It was a whole thing.

Speaker A

And you could just see he was like a deer in headlights.

Speaker A

He was like, oh Lord, why did I say anything to her at all?

Speaker A

Oh gosh, you know, like retreat, retreat, retreat.

Speaker A

And so I, this morning on my walk, I was like, okay, I've got to get myself under control because I don't know why I'm feeling this way.

Speaker A

And I realized that it was because everything with this company is from my brain and my heart.

Speaker A

So when I got into real estate, yes, you can run your, your real estate business in your own way, but in general, you get your license, you learn the state contracts, and then transactions typically go a certain way.

Speaker A

Like yes, there's all kinds of different things that can happen, but there is a beginning, a middle and an end.

Speaker A

And it's the same process for essentially every transaction there is some kind of blueprint with this company building it from scratch.

Speaker A

There was absolutely no blueprint.

Speaker A

And so I think a lot of my sensitivity came from, is coming from the fact that since there's no blueprint, there is absolutely no direction.

Speaker A

There is no right or wrong, there's no should or shouldn't.

Speaker A

Like there is unlimited possibility and there's also unlimited ways to fail.

Speaker A

And I think I have a little self esteem issue almost or self confidence issue that like, am I actually making the right decision?

Speaker A

Is this actually the way I should have set up the business that I wasn't aware of?

Speaker A

And so when someone like my poor husband makes an offhanded suggestion that is very innocent and very well meaning.

Speaker A

It, like, brings up all those fears, and it literally, like, made me panic because I was like, oh, my gosh, what have I done?

Speaker A

Like, I have, you know, bet my whole future on this.

Speaker A

Not.

Speaker A

It's not that serious.

Speaker A

It's not that intense.

Speaker A

But I am investing so much time and so much emotion into this, and I have such a sensitivity of, like, am I doing it the right way?

Speaker A

And so now that I'm aware of it, I'm like, okay, I can talk to my therapist.

Speaker A

I can journal through this.

Speaker A

Like, I can handle it.

Speaker A

But I just wanted to talk about that today because that is something that completely caught me off guard.

Speaker A

I did not realize that I was going to be so sensitive that I was gonna, like, like, the last two weeks.

Speaker A

I'm not joking, y'all.

Speaker A

My poor husband.

Speaker A

I really do feel so bad for him.

Speaker A

I have cried every single day, and not even, like, a sad cry.

Speaker A

I've cried over movies.

Speaker A

I've cried over YouTube videos.

Speaker A

I've cried during podcasts.

Speaker A

I've cried, cried, like, you name it.

Speaker A

If there is any kind of, like, big emotion involved, I have cried.

Speaker A

And it's.

Speaker A

I, like, couldn't figure it out at first, but then this morning on my walk, I was like, that's exactly what it is.

Speaker A

Like, I have some fears and some doubt, like, deep down that I need to deal with, and at least I don't have to deal with it.

Speaker A

I don't have to, like, push them away, but just bring them to the surface and be like, oh, wow, I.

Speaker A

I'm a little scared.

Speaker A

Like, this is kind of a scary thing to do.

Speaker A

Still excited, still so passionate about it, but the fact that there is no blueprint and I'm building this from scratch, it is a little terrifying.

Speaker A

And so that sensitivity really caught me off guard.

Speaker A

It makes me feel a little bit better knowing that I'm not.

Speaker A

I haven't completely lost my rocker.

Speaker A

Like, the last two weeks, I've been like, why am I crying so much?

Speaker A

Like, this is so weird, you know?

Speaker A

Now, ladies, here is a safe spot.

Speaker A

I was on my period last week, and so, like, the tears were really turned up.

Speaker A

Like, I have been crying so much.

Speaker A

It's been wild.

Speaker A

But, yeah, that sensitivity really caught me off guard.

Speaker A

And I was actually talking to one of my coaches this morning, and she was like, blakely, that's because you care.

Speaker A

Like, that's because you are, like, putting genuine effort and energy into this.

Speaker A

She said, like, people that don't put energy and effort into things.

Speaker A

They don't care.

Speaker A

Like, they're not going to be sensitive about anything because they, they, you know, put half of their heart into it.

Speaker A

And so if you were in a season where like, you're feeling that discomfort and that pain of did I make the right decision?

Speaker A

Am I making the right choices?

Speaker A

Like, am I, am I taking the right path?

Speaker A

Just let yourself like, be okay with the fact that maybe there is some fear there and let it come up and it might come out in lots of tears.

Speaker A

Just tell everyone around you I'm sorry.

Speaker A

I'm very sensitive right now because that is, that's where I'm at is like I'm, I am so appreciative of the sensitivity because I know it does mean that I care.

Speaker A

But it is really, it completely caught me off guard.

Speaker A

And so if this helps, at least one person be like, oh, wow, I, I'm not alone, like, maybe that's what I'm experiencing, then that is what I hope this episode helps.

Speaker A

So y'all know me, I always love to do a little research because I love to take action on things.

Speaker A

Awareness is always the first step and I like want to, I always want to be moving forward and be elevating and be growing from whatever it is.

Speaker A

So I made myself a little plan of how I'm going to handle it and how I'm going to learn from it and grow through this sensitivity and this not difficult season because I do not want to use that word because this is one of the most cherished seasons of my whole life.

Speaker A

Like, I feel so good right now and so I want to enjoy it, but I also want to learn from it and I don't want to push any of my emotions down.

Speaker A

So I have three things that I'm going to work on over the next couple of weeks.

Speaker A

Number one, stay rooted in your why.

Speaker A

This one has been really big for me because I, I know the impact that is going to happen with this program.

Speaker A

Like the dreams and the vision that I have for it are so much bigger than I can mentally handle right now.

Speaker A

And like my, my why is so big and this is why it's so important to have like a deep, unshakable belief in your mission from the start.

Speaker A

So that way those opinions, like those well meaning opinions, they don't completely knock you off course.

Speaker A

Because I'll be super honest, this last week, this last two weeks, if I didn't have like complete and utter this is my why, this is my mission, I would have probably changed my products a hundred Times because very well meaning friends and acquaintances and everyone is like, oh, I saw so and so on YouTube, or you need to listen to this podcast, or you should do this or you should offer this.

Speaker A

And it's all well meaning 100%.

Speaker A

I'm so grateful and I'm so thankful because everyone is excited with me.

Speaker A

But you need to know your why and you need to know your vision and your mission so you know your focus.

Speaker A

And when those opinions come at you, you have a filter and you can go, okay, obviously, always be kind, always be grateful, and always be appreciative.

Speaker A

Like, thank you so much.

Speaker A

I love that you thought of me like that.

Speaker A

That makes me feel so good.

Speaker A

Because it does.

Speaker A

It genuinely makes me feel good.

Speaker A

But then your own personal filter, you can go, o, I am going to listen to this or watch it and take what I want from it if it doesn't align with my vision.

Speaker A

Or you can go, wow, I really actually like this.

Speaker A

I would love to implement this.

Speaker A

But knowing your why and staying rooted in that is going to keep you on track and keep you focused so that all those opinions that are coming in aren't swaying you and pulling you in a thousand different directions, because that's.

Speaker A

That's going to get really overwhelming, especially for your nervous system.

Speaker A

Number two, and I kind of already meshed in with this one because I jumped too far is filter the feedback because some opinions are going to be valuable and others are not going to be all that valuable.

Speaker A

And so just learning to know the difference, that goes back to, like, staying rooted in your why, filtering that feedback, filter what comes in.

Speaker A

Because especially if it's something that is hopefully one day going to be nationwide, maybe even international, you are going to get a lot of opinions, period, in the story.

Speaker A

And you've got to have some kind of filter to run that through.

Speaker A

And that goes back to staying rooted in your why from the jump.

Speaker A

And then number three, and I think this one is the most important.

Speaker A

And I wish in other seasons of my life I had done this.

Speaker A

And so I'm really trying to do it as much as possible in the season is pause and be appreciative.

Speaker A

I am trying to.

Speaker A

In moments where I'm like, blakely, what are you doing?

Speaker A

Like, what, ma'am, are you sure?

Speaker A

I'm like, I try to just sit still and be like, this has been my dream for so long now, and I have worked so hard to get here.

Speaker A

I have been through a lot of obstacles and a lot of life changes and a lot of lessons that have all literally led me right here.

Speaker A

And I am working in a way that I've always dreamed of working.

Speaker A

I have women in my life I've always dreamed of having in my life.

Speaker A

I have coaches I've always dreamed of having.

Speaker A

I have clients I've always dreamed.

Speaker A

Like, there's just so much that is so good right now.

Speaker A

And so I'm trying to stay rooted in that.

Speaker A

That, like, just a few years ago, I was so miserable.

Speaker A

I was so miserable beyond.

Speaker A

And that's the hard part about, like, being a high achiever is you can be at your bottom, rock bottom, so miserable, and everybody looks at you, and they're like, wow, Blakely's really rocking it, because you're still gonna show up regardless.

Speaker A

Like, I could be having my absolute worst day of my whole life, and you're probably not gonna know because, like, I'm just someone who shows up here, period, regardless.

Speaker A

And I do think there is a lot of benefit from that.

Speaker A

But the downside is that you.

Speaker A

You.

Speaker A

You hardly ever get like, hey, are you okay?

Speaker A

Like, hey, like, do you want to talk about something?

Speaker A

Like, I don't get that.

Speaker A

And it's.

Speaker A

It's.

Speaker A

That's my responsibility.

Speaker A

I'm not saying, like, people need to, you know, cater to me or treat me like a victim, but going from that season of my life where I was, like, so low to where I am now, like, I just keep trying to remind myself, like, look over your shoulder.

Speaker A

Look how far you've come.

Speaker A

Look how good life is right now.

Speaker A

Like, this is it.

Speaker A

You're here.

Speaker A

Like, this moment is.

Speaker A

Is all you've got.

Speaker A

I don't have the next moment.

Speaker A

I don't have yesterday anymore.

Speaker A

Like, this is all I've got.

Speaker A

And so I'm just trying to be, like, so appreciative of every moment.

Speaker A

And it helps when you are so sensitive to just slow down and be like, wow, this is exactly what I asked for.

Speaker A

Yeah, it's hard.

Speaker A

Everything's going to be hard.

Speaker A

Taking the easy way out is going to be hard.

Speaker A

Taking the hard way is going to be hard.

Speaker A

There's hard and everything, but I'm just trying to stay rooted.

Speaker A

And, like, the fact that I'm so appreciative of where I'm at, it feels so good.

Speaker A

So I hope this helps.

Speaker A

Maybe you're, like, in a bit or, like, a mood or an emotion or a season where you're like, what is this feeling?

Speaker A

If it's like, fear, just sit in it and be like, okay, it's natural for me to be scared right now.

Speaker A

I am doing something scary.

Speaker A

But this is like my good scary and my happy scary.

Speaker A

And yeah, I'm taking a leap, but I'm taking a leap that is calculated and it feels good and it feels exciting and it's drawing me.

Speaker A

And just be okay with the fact that you're sensitive.

Speaker A

Be okay with the fact that you might cry for no reason multiple times a day and just sit in that and be really appreciative of that.

Speaker A

Because this is the life that you, you know, worked for and prayed for.

Speaker A

But I hope that this episode helps you.

Speaker A
