Speaker BLife can seem so out of control sometimes.
Speaker BWouldn't it be nice to really know where our lives are headed and uncover clues to our future and what the universe has planned for us that would make life so much more predictable and easier.
Speaker BMaddie Murphy helps people do just that.
Speaker BShe blends ancient wisdom with modern self development to help people live in radical alignment with their soul's blueprint.
Speaker BMaddie is an astrology expert and the author of in the Cosmic Zone.
Speaker BShe's the founder of Cosmic Rx, a moon powered movement that helps millions of people decode the stars through birth chart interpretation and harness their full potential through astrology.
Speaker BMaddie studied with some of the world's most renowned spiritual teachers and leaders.
Speaker BShe helps people overcome their barriers that keep them locked in a comfort zone.
Speaker BHer book helps them discover the 12 universal keys to unlock their ability to go from stagnation to empowered action, shift from perfectionism to progress and overcome shame and take back their power.
Speaker BThose are just some of the things readers can unlock in Maddie's book.
Speaker BKathy and I wanted to learn more, so we invited Maddie on the show to explain all of this.
Speaker BMaddie, welcome to the show.
Speaker DOh, thank you so much, Shelly.
Speaker DFirst of all, your voice.
Speaker DI could just listen to that all day.
Speaker DThat was like a meditation.
Speaker DI am buzzing, I am vibing, and I'm so happy and honored to be here today.
Speaker DThank you.
Speaker BThank you so much.
Speaker BI really appreciate that compliment.
Speaker BIt's wonderful to have you.
Speaker CWelcome.
Speaker CThis is great.
Speaker BOh my goodness, Maddie, you've got some amazing knowledge and you help so many people.
Speaker BThank you.
Speaker BFor those out there who aren't familiar with all of this, could you maybe explain what you do and how you got started?
Speaker BI'm sure if people aren't familiar, they'll be going, huh, what's this all about?
Speaker DYes, absolutely.
Speaker DSo thank you.
Speaker DSo I, I think you know, by just going to distill it down to a few words, how I help people.
Speaker DNow, whether that's through my media channels or through my one on one mentoring, I really help people use astrology and A whole myriad of spiritual tools, tools of psychology and neuroscience to really help step into alignment and to be in more flow with their life, with their authentic self, with their purpose and to have more presence, joy and fulfillment in their everyday life.
Speaker DWhether that's people who I know are stay at home moms or you know, Fortune 50 CEOs out there, or people in the entertainment business.
Speaker DAnd if you told me I was would be doing this now, you know, as a child, I think I would have two responses, like of duh, of course, that's so me.
Speaker DBut also, huh, what is this?
Speaker DLike I didn't know this was a career field option as you know, maybe some people out there can relate to people who are a bit more either creative or entrepreneurial.
Speaker DI definitely have carved out my own path.
Speaker DIt's, it's been a non linear journey to get to this moment, but it's such a beautiful one.
Speaker DAnd I guess it really started with I had such a deep curiosity as a child and this very like unshakable belief that we were here to do something really impactful on this planet as humans, that life was really special and that there's a sort of magic, if you will, around us if we could tap into it.
Speaker DAnd I think a lot of maybe children feel that way, but I definitely felt that way into my adolescent years and maybe it was after I graduated college though, that that that light dimmed a little bit because I started to feel like, okay, but you got to get to the real world to get a job, you know, what are we going to do for our life?
Speaker DAnd, and all these big questions hit me and I think something happened in me and maybe people can relate to this, but I sort of like, like cast away all these parts of myself that were a little quirky, a little eccentric, things that I was passionate about, but didn't really know, you know, how to, how I could monetize them or what did that mean out in the real world.
Speaker DAnd I started to take myself very seriously and in that just sort of lost a lot of what made me me and, and I think I started to look for other things to fulfill those places within me.
Speaker DAnd it wasn't until I was in my late 20s that I had sort of a, a spiritual awakening, whatever you want to call it.
Speaker DDark night of the soul, a breakdown that became my breakthrough, but my body just shut down.
Speaker DI was set to get married to this man who was lovely but definitely not my soul aligned person in my whole life had slowly but like surely gotten really out of alignment And I just heard this voice in my head that was like, you have to kind of stand up, choose yourself, choose your life again.
Speaker DEven if it's scary, you have to leave this, like, place.
Speaker DIt feels comfortable, but it's not you.
Speaker DAnd you're gonna die like a slow death here where this is not your life.
Speaker DRight.
Speaker DAnd it was so scary.
Speaker DAnd it was definitely the most challenging thing by far up to that point.
Speaker DBut I did, I called off that wedding.
Speaker DYou know, I sort of imploded a big bomb in my.
Speaker DBut ironically, after I did, that was the best I had felt in a very long time.
Speaker DAnd that's when I realized the power of following your intuition, of listening to yourself and trusting your alignment.
Speaker DAnd then from there, you know, like most people who get into spirituality and astrology as an adult, I didn't come to it because I wanted to.
Speaker DI kind of just gave it a shot again because I was so desperate.
Speaker DI was like, I'll try anything again.
Speaker DLike, a friend invited me to a workshop on, on astrology and I, I started dusting off, you know, those books I had as a child.
Speaker DAnd I was like, why not?
Speaker DI have nothing else to lose.
Speaker DLike my whole life is.
Speaker DI sort of just, you know, set off the, the big bomb, the detonation device.
Speaker DSo if I'm going to rebuild my life, like, I want to do it with more curiosity, with really figuring out, like I'd been in such a people pleasing, external validation seeking phase of my life for so long.
Speaker DI. Ladies, I didn't even know who I was.
Speaker DI didn't even know what I wanted anymore.
Speaker DIt was so.
Speaker DI was so disconnected.
Speaker DSo, yes, you know, long story long, that set me off on the best, most remarkable journey of my life.
Speaker DAnd now I get to share all of the wisdom and tools and tricks that I picked up along the way.
Speaker DSo what all do you do?
Speaker BI mean, this is amazing that you essentially had an awakening within yourself.
Speaker BAnd bravo for calling off a wedding.
Speaker BThat's a scary thing to do.
Speaker DOh my goodness.
Speaker BThere are a lot of people who don't like it, but you stood up for yourself.
Speaker BThat's terrific.
Speaker DWhat all do you do?
Speaker BI mean, people hear about astrology, I think a lot of them go, yeah, yeah, it's kind of woo woo type thing, you know.
Speaker DOkay, great question.
Speaker DSo I think she had, you know, I can remember a few moments in my life where astrology really started to click for me, where I fell in love with it more deeply.
Speaker DAnd I think one of the things that I realized is that Astrology is really this self awareness framework.
Speaker DIt's not a fortune cookie.
Speaker DIt's not, you know, certain people can interpret it in ways that are very esoteric and out there and sort of, ooh, like intergalactic Madame Cleo adjacent vibes.
Speaker DBut really astrology is just the study of patterns and phases and cycles.
Speaker DYou know, where was the sun in the sky when you were born that dictates your sun sign?
Speaker DAnd every year when the sun moves into that sign, we see certain themes and it's almost like the biggest data collection tool of all time.
Speaker DAnd you know, even right now, I study a lot of our macro collective astrology to understand what we're going through as a collective.
Speaker DAnd it's been so spot on when you study like, oh, we're in a certain moment in time, that's the same astrology as say like the French Revolution or the Civil War.
Speaker DAnd I was studying this for years ahead of time.
Speaker DAnd now that we're in it, I'm like, okay, this sort of tracks.
Speaker DWe're sort of picking up on uncertain themes, but that same thing happens within us.
Speaker DAnd so by doing it that it's like someone else.
Speaker DAncient mystics and wisdom keepers and astrologers have kept this data for so long, so then that we can understand with ourselves.
Speaker DOkay, here's my chart.
Speaker DAnd here are jumping off points to understand patterns and patterns in my own life.
Speaker DAnd to me, when I can recognize a pattern, it's so satisfying because then I can decide, is this a pattern that serves me or a pattern that it's in my choosing to, to move on from?
Speaker DRight?
Speaker DAnd it also is a tool of giving yourself words and articulation and hopefully affirmation over some of those things that are a little bit more ineffable, a little bit harder to put words around, like our soul's desires, right?
Speaker DOur gifts.
Speaker DI love working with people to help them understand their gifts.
Speaker DBecause the cool thing about it is everyone's born with an incredible gift set.
Speaker DI call it their medicine, their magic to share with the world.
Speaker DBut here's the thing, when you're just good at something, you take it for granted.
Speaker DIt's like your nose on your face.
Speaker DYou just get used to it being there.
Speaker DYou don't realize that your way with words or your way of organizing or your ability to light up a room or, you know, your, your way with numbers, that's something that's really special that maybe not everyone is good at and, and you really owning that and rocking that is not only going to Help you in your life, you know, create more ease and jo fulfillment.
Speaker DBut you might be adding something to people and, you know, really positively impacting those around you in your family and your community, your clients, your co workers, the larger collective.
Speaker DAnd, you know, the astrology that I like to use, I like to say it's practical, it's easy to apply, easy to understand.
Speaker DAnd some astrology I understand where it can turn people off because I do not like I've had astrology readings where it did not make me feel empowered after.
Speaker DSo always a grain of salt of who's reading for you.
Speaker DI've had readers left me feeling deflated or discouraged or again, picking up an astrology book and reading something and going, that feels really restrictive and constricting me.
Speaker DSo that, in my opinion, is astrology that is seeking to define you.
Speaker DOh, Geminis are this way.
Speaker DPisces are this way.
Speaker DVirgos are this way.
Speaker DWhere I like to use astrology as another language of the soul of the universe and to have it be astrology that aligns you instead of defines you.
Speaker DOh, right.
Speaker DI am.
Speaker DThese are some of my gifts.
Speaker DHow can I lean into that more?
Speaker DOr oops, these are maybe a little bit of my obstacles, the things I can get into sticky patterns around.
Speaker DHow can I know better and then do better next time, right?
Speaker DAnd all of these little changes, these little moments of aha, awareness, light bulb moments.
Speaker DAll of a sudden you look at your life and you're like, wow, I am in such deep trust, I am in such deep flow that all things are working out for me in all ways.
Speaker DAll ways, because I allow them to.
Speaker DRight.
Speaker DAnd I trust myself at every turn.
Speaker DAnd that is, you know, sort of the, the crux, the foundational vibe, I like to call it, of.
Speaker DOf living in the cosmic zone, what the book's about.
Speaker DSo does that make sense?
Speaker DDoes that resonate?
Speaker BYeah, you know, it's interesting.
Speaker BAstrology actually predates astronomy.
Speaker BIt was always considered definitely a blueprint.
Speaker BPeople followed and they looked to the skies, right?
Speaker BThey looked absolutely how everything was in alignment with the Earth.
Speaker BAnd then we kind of lost that.
Speaker BAnd of course, as we went into the 20th century, I think a lot of people said, ah, science is what we need to follow.
Speaker BAnd all the rest of it's bunk, which they're there.
Speaker BThey can't just dismiss it.
Speaker DAbsolutely.
Speaker DI love that you said that.
Speaker DOne of my favorite fun facts is that, yes, like back in the day, astrology and astronomy were looked at the same way, right.
Speaker DThe scientific world that we associate with astronomy Now, Galileo, Ptolemy, Copernicus, they all studied astrology as well.
Speaker DAnd they used it to track natural cycles, to predict agricultural decisions, to understand what was happening politically.
Speaker DAnd then somewhere around the scientific revolution, fun fact, Astronomers kind of created a little bit of a smear campaign against astrologers because they were fighting for the same funding the same research, the same, you know, like, everything was, goes down to, you know, money and power of the dollar.
Speaker DAnd then when astrology returned back into the collective, for better or worse, it was brought back into the mainstream through newspaper horoscopes.
Speaker DOh, yes, yes.
Speaker DSo it was like, oh, that's fun.
Speaker DBut I understand why a lot of people wouldn't really be like, oh, yeah, that's really making me stop feeling skeptical and believing.
Speaker DThese horoscopes that are written and they are a little vague, right?
Speaker DAnd they're, they're, they're totally vague.
Speaker CThey could apply to anybody.
Speaker DIt's like, certain day you're gonna get frustrated and you're like, okay, yeah, I'm a human in 2025.
Speaker DLike, how could I not?
Speaker DAnd I like to say, like, that is a type of astrology.
Speaker DBut to me, I' like, it's like saying, you know, that everyone knows, you know, the cooking's all the same.
Speaker DI'm like, well, yes, having a filet mignon prepared at a five star restaurant is food and cooking.
Speaker DAnd so is a McDonald's, you know, $ menu burger.
Speaker DYes, they're both technically food.
Speaker DThey're both technically even maybe similar ingredients, but the way they're being delivered and used and utilized is completely a different experience.
Speaker DRight?
Speaker BSo, yeah, yeah, I think astrology has been served up as one size fits all.
Speaker BAnd it doesn't, it doesn't at all.
Speaker BYou need to have all the different details to see the whole picture.

Speaker BWe want to help as many women as possible.
Speaker BWe're talking with Maddie Murphy, founder of Cosmic Rx and author of in the Cosmic Zone.
Speaker BIf you've ever wished life came with a user manual, Maddie says it actually does.
Speaker BIt's written in your cosmic blueprint.
Speaker BShe blends astrology with modern self development like spirituality, psychology and neuroscience so people can step into their alignment.
Speaker BShe helps women move from perfectionism to progress and from uncertainty to confidence.
Speaker BShe teaches how the zodiac can be a roadmap to clarity, healing and purpose.
Speaker BMaddie, your book talks about the cosmic Zone.
Speaker BWhat exactly is that?
Speaker DThe cosmic zone to me is fundamentally when you start really understanding who you are, why you're here and how to operate at your most attuned high frequency self.
Speaker DAnd you are in that place where where you are living your most authentic expression and you're in alignment with your vision for your life, your values.
Speaker DAnd again, like what really lights your soul on fire.
Speaker DAnd with all of that, when you can trust all of that and again, it's not a one time journey.
Speaker DIt's like it's something we come back to over and over again.
Speaker DBut when you trust that place, it feels like you are flying, like you are dancing, like you are in deep co creation with the universe.
Speaker DAnd it's like life is happening through you, not just to you.
Speaker DAnd here's the thing, it's not you don't go there one time and stay there.
Speaker DI Teach this work.
Speaker DAnd I think I live in my cosmos zone a big percentage of the time because I've been doing this, dedicated to it for a very long time.
Speaker DBut there's always that next big leap, right?
Speaker DWe want to make as humans.
Speaker DWe're naturally expansive.
Speaker DWe're natural explorers.
Speaker DAnd anyone, anyone listening, however much success you've had or whatever you've done in life, there comes a point where you're kind of either ready for, for the next thing, right?
Speaker DAnd it might be a big move, it might be you're doing something creative.
Speaker DIt might be pulling back and tending to the home and being like, I want to really invest myself in, in my garden or, you know, or becoming a parent or whatever it is, falling in love.
Speaker DAnd these are moments where we can feel that fear of the unknown.
Speaker DAnd I like to tell people, okay, this is time to go back, go back within yourself and figure out, like, what's the pep talk we need?
Speaker DWhat's the permission slip we need?
Speaker DWhat's some of the practical magic, you know, tools and rituals and support that you need so you can take that leap and live in that place where your soul is like, ah, yes, I'm alive, I'm here, I'm connected to my life force.
Speaker DSo that's everything, you know, that's the cosmic zone.
Speaker DBut I just like to say it's not something that we just do one time.
Speaker DSo life, lifetime, journey, right?
Speaker DAnd, and every time you do it and you make that leap, like that first leap I had from the comfort zone to the cosmic zone in my late 20s, it was bumpy.
Speaker DThat wasn't really a leap so much as I was shoved off of a cliff by the universe and, you know, fell the whole way down.
Speaker DI was like, okay, next time can I get the message a little bit more subtly?
Speaker DCan I do it with a little bit more grace, A little bit more like empowerment, right?
Speaker DLike as a little scuffed up Bruce and battered after that one.
Speaker DBut, you know, writing this book was a comfort zone to a cosmic zone journey for me.
Speaker DI had to use the very tools in the book, literally use them and the mantras to get through the process of writing the book proposal, writing the book, and now I'm using it in putting myself out there to talk about it.
Speaker BI don't think a lot of people do this kind of inward reflection.
Speaker BI mean, when you think about a.
Speaker BHow many people really know themselves.
Speaker BI mean, I think we go through life and there's certain times when we do feel in alignment and we really feel like, we belong.
Speaker BAnd then there are other times where it's just like, ooh, this just doesn't feel right.
Speaker BBut we keep plodding along anyway.
Speaker DYou know, I love what you just said there.
Speaker DIt's so true.
Speaker DIt's like, we don't and.
Speaker DOkay, something you just said.
Speaker DI want people at home listening.
Speaker DChances are you have had a taste of the cosmic zone.
Speaker DLike you said, a moment where you're like, ooh, I'm in a state of belonging or a flow state or things are going really well and sometimes we can feel it for a quick, you know, a day or a phase in our life.
Speaker DBut I just want to remind everyone, like you said, when you slow down, if you're trying to push ahead in life and nothing's working, the best thing you can do is kind of counterintuitively slow down, tune back into yourself and get to know yourself.
Speaker DBecause that is where the real transformation happens and where it's more long lasting and again, where you can start to like, go back to that place.
Speaker DLike, everyone's listening has probably experienced the cosmic zone.
Speaker DBut I want you to, like, I want you to live there.
Speaker DI want that to be like your, your main residency, right?
Speaker BWouldn't that be nice?
Speaker BAnd your, your book talks about that.
Speaker BThe 12 universal keys.
Speaker BYou're helping people do a metamorphosis.
Speaker BKathy, you dealt with a lot of growth and you deal a lot in frequencies too.
Speaker BLike, Maddie's been talking.
Speaker CWell, I've been really blessed since I've been very young to have to feel energy.
Speaker CI see things before they happen.
Speaker CI, I understand the bigger picture.
Speaker CLike, when it comes to, like, I'll give you an example.
Speaker CWhen I was buying my house in 2018, I went to see 12 different houses and I didn't buy them because they.
Speaker CI wasn't looking for something that was pretty.
Speaker CI was looking for something that I, as Kathy Takaro, aligned with the house.
Speaker CIf that sounds crazy, it's, it's, it is.
Speaker CSo I would walk into a house, I would feel the house's live energy, and I'm like, nope, this isn't it.
Speaker CNope, this is not going to match who I am.
Speaker CSo until I found this one house and I went in, the second I walk in the door, my heart center just opened right up and it started to pulsate.
Speaker CAnd it was a slow, steady pulsate as I walked through the house.
Speaker CAnd I'm like, okay, this is it.
Speaker CSo I went to see that house three times just to make sure, because I'm going to See other houses at the same time.
Speaker CAnd I kept coming back to this one.
Speaker CAnd every time I went back, it would get stronger and stronger till the third time when the realtor was talking to me and he was pulsating so strong that it became a sound and it almost tuned out the realtor.
Speaker CAnd I had to bend over and I was holding my chest and I had to shut it off.
Speaker CAnd I'm like, okay.
Speaker CAs I'm internally shutting off my heart center, I'm telling the lady, I'll take.
Speaker BIt, I'll take it.
Speaker CThis is the right house for me.
Speaker DI'll take it.
Speaker DYes.
Speaker CBecause I was aligning myself with the energy that I needed.
Speaker CNot so much as, oh, I just think this house is pretty right.
Speaker CBecause everything's got a vibe.
Speaker DYes, very.
Speaker CAnd people have vibes.
Speaker CAnd so I've been very fortunate to, to be able to see that.
Speaker CSo, I mean, anybody can, can pay attention.
Speaker CYou know, you're walking beside someone, you're like, ooh, that guy gives you the creeps.
Speaker CYou know, like, what's up with that?
Speaker BI've had those kind of vibes too.
Speaker BAnd you know, it's interesting, Kathy, When I looked for my house years ago, I remember going to a lot of different open houses, and there's a house that I'd always been intrigued by.
Speaker BI walked in, it's like, wow, people didn't like each other in this house.
Speaker DYou could feel it.
Speaker BOh, yeah.
Speaker BAnd actually what popped in my head was somebody didn't like their mother in law, which was funny.
Speaker BI have no idea.
Speaker BBut I was picking up vibes.
Speaker BAnd I do.
Speaker BI pick up that kind of information too, but I think everyone does.
Speaker BBut they don't always listen to it, do they?
Speaker DNo, they don't.
Speaker DThat is so well said.
Speaker DAnd that is, you know, I love it.
Speaker DThank you for sharing that, Kathy.
Speaker DAnd I'm the same way.
Speaker DAnd I actually don't always lead with it in interviews because there's so much to talk about.
Speaker DRight.
Speaker DI have a life story, but same as you, I always had that like, you know, clairsentience or Claire cognizance.
Speaker DI was a feeling of like, I just.
Speaker DYou feel the energy right before, before your mind can even catch up.
Speaker DYou're just like, yes or no.
Speaker DBut it did take me a while to trust it because sometimes I would just be like, oh, whatever, Right.
Speaker DThe mind comes in so quickly, like, like the body, like, comes in with something and then if our mind can just be like, nope, like, that doesn't make sense.
Speaker DIt's Even back to the story with me being engaged.
Speaker DA lot of times my body would just be like, this doesn't feel good.
Speaker DLike, I don't.
Speaker DLike, I wouldn't.
Speaker DI wasn't sleeping.
Speaker DI wasn't eating.
Speaker DAnd anyone who knows me, I love to eat.
Speaker DI love to sleep.
Speaker DLike, my two favorite things in life, basically.
Speaker DAnd I noticed that, like, after my fiance proposed, I couldn't.
Speaker DI had no appetite, I wasn't sleeping well, and my mind was just like, okay, just keep going.
Speaker DCheck off the box.
Speaker DYou're doing this.
Speaker DThis is great.
Speaker DEveryone says you should be happy, be happy.
Speaker DAnd that.
Speaker DThat moment where I, like, you know, finally let myself, like, come into my truth.
Speaker DI was like, you know, what body?
Speaker DYou know, something I don't know, right?
Speaker DAnd, like, my mind is so scared, but I have to listen to it.
Speaker DAnd that was like, my promise I made to myself after that day that I was going to trust all those nudges and that feelings and those inklings and, like, almost let the head follow them, like, which is like, you know, opposite of what I'm doing up to that point.
Speaker DAnd I think that you're speaking so articulately on this, and I have a chapter in my book about, like, how do you begin to really listen to that intuitive voice?
Speaker DBecause you have a very clear connection, and I love that you trust that.
Speaker DBut I think a lot of people would, like, maybe have that nudge about the house, then be like, oh, the head gets in the way really quickly, right?
Speaker DWith the monkey mind, the anxiety, the whatever.
Speaker DSo I love that you modeled that so beautifully, and I think that we could all learn a lot from that story.

Speaker AWelcome back to Women Road warriors with Shelly Johnson and Kathy Tucaro.
Speaker BIf you've ever been craving a breakthrough or a deeper sense of direction, you're in the right place.
Speaker BWe're talking with astrology expert And Cosmic RX founder Maddie Murphy, whose book in the cosmic Zone, helps women step into alignment by working with 12 archetypes.
Speaker BShe blends ancient wisdom with practical tools to help you decode your soul blueprint so you can finally move from stagnation to empowered action.
Speaker BAs she says, it's powerful to follow your intuition, listen to yourself, and trust in your alignment.
Speaker BMaddie, with our technology today, we're so connected, but I think we've stopped listening.
Speaker BAnd, Maddie, what you're doing with your book, I think, is opening up all of those senses again, because human beings, I think, get really kind of lazy if they got a device that can tell them how to think.
Speaker BI was gonna say lazy and distracted.
Speaker DYes.
Speaker DDisconnected.
Speaker DDistracted and, yes, a little lazy.
Speaker DYeah, absolutely.
Speaker BSo you talk about the 12 universal keys in your book.
Speaker BFirst chapter, where you really delve into this is why not me Move from stagnation to empowered action.
Speaker BI was wondering if you wanted to maybe touch on some of the highlights of your book, because you've got a lot of insight there.
Speaker DYes.
Speaker DSo it's basically the.
Speaker DThe 12 keys, and I took them from the 12 zodiac signs.
Speaker DAnd the zodiac sign astrology is basically the study of, like, a cosmic wheel of life that we go through over and over again.
Speaker DAnd we hope that in every passing, we learn something new.
Speaker DWe gain some kind of new awareness where we can live in more of that place of self trust and ease and joy.
Speaker DAnd so when I looked at these zodiac signs, I'm like, regardless if you're into astrology or not, these are just universal truths.
Speaker DI think there are keys that we need to unlock aspects of ourselves, especially when we're, you know, up against that next invitation for our own expansion.
Speaker DAnd the first key is a key that I've had to work with a lot.
Speaker DAs someone who I'm the oldest of four girls, I definitely grew up in a household where it's like, be a good girl.
Speaker DLike, you get, like, be grateful for everything you have.
Speaker DDon't ask for too much.
Speaker DAnd, like.
Speaker DAnd nothing wrong with that.
Speaker DI was raised to be very polite, and I appreciate that.
Speaker DBut I think I internalized that in some way where it was like, don't take up space.
Speaker DDon't do anything.
Speaker DAnything to rock the boat.
Speaker DDon't put yourself out there.
Speaker DDon't be too much.
Speaker DDon't be too this that.
Speaker DRight?
Speaker DAnd there's something in all of us.
Speaker DWhether you're daring just to live more boldly as your own person, own your identity more, or do something that feels like putting yourself out there entrepreneurially, creatively, or in love.
Speaker DA lot of people I work with have this first thought they share with me of like, why me?
Speaker DRight?
Speaker DAnd it's.
Speaker DSome people call it imposter syndrome.
Speaker DYou know, some people, it's like the self critic.
Speaker DIt's like, why, why am I going to write a book?
Speaker DWhy am I going to have a podcast or radio show?
Speaker DWhy me to do this right?
Speaker DWhy me to move across the world and live in my dream, you know, city.
Speaker DAnd it's.
Speaker DI actually think that imposter syndrome is actually a beautiful gift to embrace because I'm like, okay, that's good.
Speaker DThat means that you are actually humble and you're not an egomaniac.
Speaker DSo check, check.
Speaker DI like that first of all, that we're questioning a little bit, but I don't want questioning to stop anyone from doing the thing.
Speaker DAnd you know, you are here to live a life that is yours, that feels beautiful, that feels made on purpose, with purpose.
Speaker DAnd like you're here to have faith in yourself.
Speaker DSo the first question I had people ask is, like, why not me?
Speaker DWhy not me?
Speaker DLike, why, why does someone else get to do it, not you, right?
Speaker DLike, I think it's so easy to say why me?
Speaker DBut the flipping that is just this three words that just gives you permission, right?
Speaker DPermission to like, we have such unique things about us, but we're also all basically made up of the same things.
Speaker DYes, some of us are born into different positions in life or have different superpowers or talents that are a little bit, maybe like a little different than each other's.
Speaker DBut the core, you know, I think it's all of our birthrights to experience joy and creativity and to really like squeeze the juice out of, out of, out of this life.
Speaker DAnd so in that why not me?
Speaker DI really break down in this chapter, like, how do we begin to move from this place of stagnation?
Speaker DAnd like you said before about maybe even being asleep.
Speaker DLike this first step of why not me?
Speaker DMight not even be a big bold task.
Speaker DYou're doing it just maybe like, oh, looking around, like, I think I made for something more.
Speaker DI think there's more to life than going to work, paying my bills, eating the same dinner every night, sitting on my couch, scrolling while streaming, sleep, repeat.
Speaker DLike, what?
Speaker DIs there something else going on inside me?
Speaker DRight?
Speaker DLike, is there something else I'm meant to tap into?
Speaker DAnd, and so I think we have.
Speaker DA lot of.
Speaker DChances are a lot of us have, you know, negative self talk or old internalized programming.
Speaker DOr someone else's voice in our head that's saying that, you know, we're not mean to be in this space, in this arena.
Speaker DAnd I'm just here to tell you, you are.
Speaker DAnd I.
Speaker DThe first thing I like to say in the book is, like, plug into, like, passion again, like, what lights you up, what.
Speaker DI don't care what it is.
Speaker DI don't care how silly it is, how goofy it is, how quote unquote impractical or frivolous it is.
Speaker DIt's like, you know, does it.
Speaker DIs it crafting?
Speaker DIs it organizing?
Speaker DIs it watching old, like, cartoons from growing up?
Speaker DIs it like playing outside?
Speaker DIs it blowing bubbles?
Speaker DIs it napping?
Speaker DLike, I don't.
Speaker BWhat?
Speaker DLike, just beginning to tap back into your fire and into what connects you into that life force is such an important reminder of, like, oh, right.
Speaker DLike, there's something in me, There is a light in me.
Speaker DAnd that's the first step.
Speaker DIt's just remembering that.
Speaker DAnd then, you know, I share a few different practices in there, but one thing, and I'll, you know, keep it short, but our brain has a negativity bias.
Speaker DSo I just want to remind everyone of that, that if 4,000 good things happen to you in a day and one bad thing happens, you will remember that bad thing.
Speaker DIf you've gotten 4,000 compliments in your life on how you are so good at X, Y, Z, and one person plants a seed of doubt or comes in with their own, as my dad would call stinking thinking and rains on your parade, chances are we will remember word for word what that person says and not all the other compliments, exhortation and affirmation.
Speaker DSo a practice that I started, and I did this accidentally when I was in college, just going, getting through a hard breakup and going through a hard chapter in my life.
Speaker DI was studying abroad and I was having so much fun in this.
Speaker DThis change of scenery.
Speaker DIt allowed me to shed some of the old stories, allowed me to be a different kind of more me version of me.
Speaker DI remember thinking, I want to remember every good thing happening to me here for when I go back to campus in the fall.
Speaker DAnd I want to remember this me.
Speaker DSo I started to keep a journal of just, like, my happy moments, the moments where someone gave me a compliment, where I felt really alive.
Speaker DAnd I actually wrote it in a calendar for me to find, like, a random days.
Speaker DYou know, I was like, I want to just remember, like, these little morsels and remember, like, this is me.
Speaker DI am that girl.
Speaker DAnd I can come back there, even if, you know, my toxic ex is around or I'm feeling a little bit, like, not super inspired on my campus.
Speaker DAnd I realized this practice was so strong, I started doing it, like, in other, harder moments in my life.
Speaker DAnd I do it now, actually, all the time.
Speaker DBut I call it the hall of fame.
Speaker DSo instead of your hall of Fame, can we keep a journal?
Speaker DCan we keep an active record of the positive feedback we get from other people, from the universe, from ourselves?
Speaker DThe moments where someone says, wow, oh, Shelly, you're such a good listener.
Speaker DRight?
Speaker DKathy, you have an amazing way with words, my Gemini queen.
Speaker DThank you for breaking that down for me so far.
Speaker DRight.
Speaker DThank you for thinking right, Like, Shelly, like, you're such a Pisces.
Speaker DYou're so caring.
Speaker DYou're so there for me.
Speaker DThank you.
Speaker DI really needed that in that moment.
Speaker DOr maybe you're just like, damn, I put on those jeans today and I think I saw someone check out my butt in the grocery store.
Speaker DAnd, like, that also felt good because we want that too.
Speaker DPut it down.
Speaker DWrite it down in a journal.
Speaker DI also tell people, take screenshots, shots of, you know, the happy texts and emails you get.
Speaker DAnd first thing, just do a practice find one thing a day for 28 days and see what that does to your internal monologue.
Speaker DSee what that does.
Speaker DAnd then, you know, keep going after there.
Speaker DAnd then the next time you're having that moment of like, oh, who am I to do this?
Speaker DI'm not good enough.
Speaker DMaybe I got some harsher criticism or feedback or I'm just in my own head having a down day.
Speaker DGo back to this treasure trove to this hall of flame and let it reignite and spark the remembrance, really, of, like, who you are.
Speaker DBecause that is, like, that's the funny thing about being a human, right?
Speaker DLike, we really forget pretty quickly over and over again.
Speaker DOh, yeah.
Speaker DSo, yeah, so that's just some stuff from chapter one, but I love it, right?
Speaker DThe hall of Flame.
Speaker DIt's so fun, and it really works.

Speaker AWelcome back to Women Road warriors with Shelly Johnson and Kathy Tucaro.
Speaker BOur guest Today is Maddie Murphy, author of in the Cosmic Zone and founder of Cosmic Rx, a platform helping millions of people decode their birth charts and reconnect with who they really are.
Speaker BMaddie shows women how to move past old patterns, reclaim their confidence, and activate their authentic selves through the 12 archetypes to unleash their genius and activate their authentic selves.
Speaker BIf you've ever wondered why you're wired the way you are or why you feel called to evolve, she says the answers are written in your cosmic design.
Speaker BMaddie, you have so many good points in your book.
Speaker BWe have, like, maybe 12 minutes.
Speaker BCan you highlight maybe some of the 12 steps?
Speaker BYou talk about the 12 universal keys to maybe pique everybody's interest.
Speaker BWhat are some of the next universal keys that you'd like to cover?
Speaker DOkay, so the key.
Speaker DSo after we go from, you know, why not me?
Speaker DThe next step is I'm allowed to feel good.
Speaker DAnd this might be a real, like, aha for people out there.
Speaker DAnd I like to say even one key, I'm hoping can shift people's life and experience of it, because this is all about, hey, do you know that we're allowed to be motivated by pleasure in life instead of pressure?
Speaker DAnd that's a huge aha.
Speaker DRight?
Speaker DLike, we're actually here to enjoy our lives.
Speaker DSo that's key too.
Speaker DAnd as we move on from that, the journey takes us into the Gemini key.
Speaker DSo, Kathy, you might relate to this one, I call it.
Speaker BBut why?
Speaker DBecause Gemini is a really key part of ourselves to understand.
Speaker DWe're here to question things.
Speaker DThings aren't meant to stay the same forever.
Speaker DWe're meant to question the status quo.
Speaker DAnd this can relate to, like, but why can't I do it this way and the way I want to?
Speaker DRight?
Speaker DOr letting our curiosity guide us somewhere.
Speaker DAnd it actually helps us find and use our unique voice, which is really, really important, that we can learn to trust that.
Speaker DAnd then the fourth key brings us into a place of grounding, and it's the permission slip and the pep talk and the tools to claim I need what I need.
Speaker DAnd I know you both are focused on empowering women, and this one is so key, pun intended, for all women out there, because there is some huge struggle.
Speaker DI have never met a woman in my life, especially the ones who are holding a lot on their shoulders for everyone else who does not have a stickiness or a discomfort or some sort of guilt attached to just claiming I need something.
Speaker DI have needs, right?
Speaker DAnd this one.
Speaker DOof.
Speaker DThat is.
Speaker DThat is required reading.
Speaker DFor all the women, right, listening right now.
Speaker DAnd we want to feel at home.
Speaker DWe want to feel like nurtured and nourished so we can keep doing these things.
Speaker DBut we want to give to others from a place of overflow, right?
Speaker DNot feeling drained and depleted.
Speaker DAnd the key five after that is fun.
Speaker DSpicy.
Speaker DThis key is I need to be seen.
Speaker DThis is probably the next thing I deal with a lot of women on is a lot of women have a wound drawn visibility.
Speaker DEither they're scared to be seen, it feels really vulnerable, or that they feel like people in their lives don't see them in the way they want to be seen.
Speaker DSo this chapter helps coach you through what does it mean to be seen?
Speaker DHow can we show up more as our authentic self?
Speaker DHow can we have fun with it?
Speaker DAnd that was something I was working on for a long time for sure.
Speaker DAnd then the next key, key six, practice makes magic.
Speaker DThis helps us, whatever we're doing in life, shift from this idea of perfectionism and that we have to get it right on the first try and instead embracing progress over perfection.
Speaker DBecause again, so many things we're doing, whether it's cooking or doing something creative or, you know, running a business with technology.
Speaker DWe look around, right, and we compare people's day to day 12, 62 to our first day.
Speaker DAnd then we just give up right before we even start.
Speaker DSo this chapter is like, hey, can we just choose progress and showered movement versus perfectionism.
Speaker DAnd then for anyone who's looking to go deeper in their relationships and have more conscious relationships, key seven is we can create harmony, which really helps us master the art of collaboration and co creation and create more consciousness, romantic and platonic partnerships and relationships in our lives.
Speaker DAnd there's some, there's some juicy tips in there that I have helped clients manifest some really amazing partners with.
Speaker DAnd then key eight, this is a big one.
Speaker DThis is I will not be shamed.
Speaker DThis is a whole chapter about like, how can we go to the places that we want to hide and actually bring them into the light and help us overcome, you know, any shame that we might have from someone else or outside of ourselves.
Speaker DAnd by doing that, really take our power back and live in our wholeness.
Speaker DAnd then key nine, experience is my inspiration.
Speaker DThis is about helping us replace cynicism and the parts of us that get jaded and disconnected with sacred optimism and coming back into a place of buoyancy, which again, we all need all the time.
Speaker DBut especially I would say again, just being a human can get really heavy.
Speaker DThis is A chapter that helps you come back into hope, into faith.
Speaker DAll right, this is why I'm here.
Speaker DMy life is meant to be an adventure.
Speaker DAnd then key 10, my life is my legacy.
Speaker DJust this reminder that your life, like, you're meant to have great impact in whatever you're doing in your corner of the world.
Speaker DAnd this is an invitation in this chapter to really live in integrity, to take radical responsibility and really look at your life through that lens of leaving your legacy behind.
Speaker DAnd then key 11, which is very relevant into our current astrology.
Speaker DThe future is ours.
Speaker DThis is tips to thinking a little bit outside of the box, to helping us be a rebel with a cause and to kind of weave something in the joyful reimagining of a society.
Speaker DAnd how can we do things that are helping us move the needle more to, like, where we want to go as a collective in this moment in time.
Speaker DAnd then the last key, which is so, like, perfect.
Speaker DAnd it's the Pisces key, Shelly.
Speaker DAnd it brings us in.
Speaker DLike, we go through these journeys, and whether there's, you know, the cosmic zone journey of a lifetime or through achieving something in a moment or just sometimes in the course of a day, we might go through some of these.
Speaker DThese keys.
Speaker DI think the 12th key for me is the key that brings it all home, wraps it up with a bow.
Speaker DIt's I trust.
Speaker DBecause, you know, what Kathy was talking about and what we were talking about is this is the one that helps us lean back and let something higher hold you and guide you and protect you and direct you whether you call that, you know, God, spirit, source, the universe, your higher self.
Speaker DJust this reminder, like, that tingly feeling you were talking about, that feeling of, like, oh, we don't have to do it all ourselves.
Speaker DThere's actually something else that we can lean on and look to.
Speaker DAnd when we do that, we get to surrender and we get to allow and really, like, trust in the magic and miracles of our life and let ourselves actually be kind of delighted and surprised by how good things can be when we're not trying to control every little detail.
Speaker DSo Those are the 12 keys.
Speaker DA little taste, a little appetizer that I hope sort of, you know, you know, whets the appetite of anyone listening.
Speaker DAnd again, we go through all of them all the time.
Speaker DBut there might be one key that's resonating on your journey right now, and I would just encourage everyone to follow that and see what it wants to unlock.
Speaker BThat's really deep.
Speaker BI could see was, wow, dang.
Speaker CBut I connected with so many of them, so many.
Speaker CI'm like, okay, yeah, that's me.
Speaker CYeah, I got that.
Speaker DOh yeah.
Speaker BMaddie, you do so many things now.
Speaker DDo you work with people individually?
Speaker BCan they reach out to you in the cosmic Rx zone or.
Speaker DYeah, you know, I do.
Speaker DYou have all these beautiful channels for media, for content.
Speaker DA lot of it is free so people can interact us that way.
Speaker DAnd then I do, I don't do one on one birth chart readings at this moment in time, but I do work with certain people in an ongoing container, like a mentorship for people who are really like, hey, I want to really change my whole life in six months.
Speaker DLike let's go, let's really do this.
Speaker DBut I think in 2026 I'll be back to doing some, some one on one reading.
Speaker DSo yeah, come find me on my website.
Speaker DYou know, we'll, I'm sure send you all the link for things but anybody who's out there, who's curious and something here peaks something in them.
Speaker DI will make time and space to help navigate you to the next part of your cosmic zone journey.
Speaker BAnd you're@cosmicrx.com excellent.
Speaker BAnd you actually have a group, don't you?
Speaker BA community.
Speaker BDid you send out information to people so that they can always kind of stay on track?
Speaker DYes, exactly.
Speaker DIf you come find me on the website, there's so many ways to stay.
Speaker DYou know, we have a free newsletter that goes out every Monday with what you need to know, kind of like your astrology weather for the week, broken down to really easy to understand terms.
Speaker DAnd there's always updates in there, like things that we're opening, doing and then we have a private membership community, a couple thousand people in it right now.
Speaker DAnd we do, you know, we're just one big support group.
Speaker DWe like, we have a big group chat, we're hyping each other up and we also do live calls and I send out a really beautifully designed magazine every month that has rituals, inspiration, tips and just again ways to go deeper with this work.
Speaker DSo yeah, there's lots of different ways to interact with this.
Speaker DI really wanted to design all of this to meet people where they're at on their journey and let them know they have a place here.
Speaker BThis is just amazing.
Speaker BI mean you cover everything.
Speaker DI'm a Virgo.
Speaker DWe like to do it all.
Speaker DWe like to leave no stone unturned.
Speaker BI can relate.
Speaker BI was raised by two Virgos.
Speaker DYes, I knew that you were going to pick up on that.
Speaker DI'm like, hello, And I'm trying to live in the light of the Virgo energy, because Virgo at its best is here to be a helper and here to help other people.
Speaker BThe organizational skills of the Virgo, I think that was good for me because Pisces are creative and we can kind of meander.
Speaker BAnd my mother definitely was one who's like, you stay focused, you know, one thing at a time, Shelley.
Speaker BSo that was a good knowledge.
Speaker BIt also gave me some advantages when I dated some Virgos.
Speaker BIt's like, I knew how they think, and they were kind of freaked out.
Speaker BThey're like, you're Pisces.
Speaker BHow do you understand me?
Speaker BIt's like, I've had practice.
Speaker DOh, I love that.
Speaker DThat's where all of astrology is, right?
Speaker DIt's so great.
Speaker DIt's like we get this little cheat code to understand each other.
Speaker CLike, okay, both my ex husbands were Gemini, so that means four of us in the house.
Speaker DLike, who are you today?
Speaker DLike, what?
Speaker CBut the good thing is that we, number one, we always had fun.
Speaker CNumber two, we understood each other.
Speaker CYou know, we give each other our space because we know.
Speaker BYes, absolutely.
Speaker DLove that.
Speaker BSo, Maddie, where do people find you and where did they find your book?
Speaker DOkay, so, yeah, come find me@cosmicrx.com.
Speaker Dthat's a good jumping off point.
Speaker DYou sign up for the free newsletter, you'll get right in the community, in the flow there.
Speaker DAnd then the book in the Cosmic Zone is wherever books are sold.
Speaker DAmazon, Barnes and Noble, you know, the usual suspects.
Speaker DAnd I really infuse this book with, like, I wanted it to be a love letter to everyone's soul.
Speaker DSo if you buy it, just sit with it.
Speaker DLet it be what it needs to be for you.
Speaker DAnd I just thank you in advance for making one of my big Cosmic Zone dreams come true, of being someone who gets to put this out in the world.
