Speaker:

>> Speaker A: Foreign.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You guys out there tuning in today and

Speaker:

just hit play. Welcome to this week's

Speaker:

episode of Chasing birdies. My man.

Speaker:

>> RB: J.P. what is shakin, dude?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It feels good to see you again, man. I feel like, you know, it's one of

Speaker:

those things I see every other day.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah. Between FaceTime and

Speaker:

all that. But, um, I cannot wait.

Speaker:

I mean, we are literally under three weeks

Speaker:

for our first golf trip.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I thought you were going to say Christmas, dude. We're, we're actually.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, we're actually under a week. Yeah, we're

Speaker:

about six days away. Um, my children,

Speaker:

Parker and Peyton, remind me every day what the count

Speaker:

is, which is. It's a little exciting in the house,

Speaker:

dude. I mean, got the kids running around, the elves are moving and

Speaker:

grooving around the house. I mean, it's pretty

Speaker:

cool.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Well, good. I'm happy, uh, one of us

Speaker:

feels that way. I'm happy. I'm happy. And maybe you get

Speaker:

some Red Valley for Christmas, because I know you need some.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yes. Yes.

Speaker:

And today's episode is brought to you by Red Vanley. So

Speaker:

make sure you go to redvanly.com check the boys

Speaker:

out. Uh, I haven't heard from Jimbo enough

Speaker:

in a little bit, so I hope that he's still kicking.

Speaker:

Um, you know, I saw him at the Rangers game

Speaker:

a few weeks ago, but I just

Speaker:

packed my bags for the golf trip, bud. No, as

Speaker:

you would imagine that I early packed, but I was just so excited

Speaker:

to lay the Red Valley shorts out and see

Speaker:

what, what I'm going to pair with it.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So, um, I've been swinging the, the, the

Speaker:

stack, you know, the speed stack thing, just to keep me loose. You know,

Speaker:

I'm not really doing the exercises at this point, but anyways, I'm just

Speaker:

singing swing, swinging it to keep loose and whatnot. Hitting some

Speaker:

balls in the net. But, uh, this past

Speaker:

weekend I was hitting balls and,

Speaker:

um, here, look. My. Oh,

Speaker:

man, that's the finger

Speaker:

interlocking. Grip my nail. I must not have cut

Speaker:

my nail. Like, absolutely, like clear

Speaker:

cut. So I had a little piece pointing out and it just started

Speaker:

rip. I'm like, what in the heck is like doing? And it's. It was that.

Speaker:

So I cut myself. But I'm thinking

Speaker:

about when I'm addressing the ball, I feel like

Speaker:

sometimes we as, uh, amateur golfers get

Speaker:

sloppy and sometimes our head position at

Speaker:

address sometimes goes a little behind the

Speaker:

ball, which in theory makes sense to think

Speaker:

that you can hit it easier, like if your head's behind the

Speaker:

ball. So I was, I Was really kind of

Speaker:

trying to keep my head right, you know, even

Speaker:

feeling a little in front of the ball and the ball striking was

Speaker:

good. What do you think about that?

Speaker:

>> RB: I don't even know what the. Yeah, I didn't, yeah, your

Speaker:

mind's blown. There's just too much going on there. So I, I

Speaker:

see y'all hit.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Ball doesn't matter, so. Yeah, right, okay, but

Speaker:

understood.

Speaker:

>> RB: Sounds good, man. I, I like what you're doing. Yeah.

Speaker:

So Prep preparation for 2025 is

Speaker:

underway officially.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, no, it is. And I

Speaker:

scooped up uh, Benny a little set of clubs here

Speaker:

recently and uh, you know, try

Speaker:

to get him swinging it a little bit. But

Speaker:

Ashley's been,

Speaker:

yeah, I got him a little set and

Speaker:

uh, you know, we'll see what happens.

Speaker:

But how was your weekend? How was your week been? You guys

Speaker:

busy at the jewelry store? I see you guys posting stuff everywhere. You got

Speaker:

jewelry in left, right, and the other.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, the, the, your line's been moving and grooving boys in

Speaker:

the backs, in the back side of the building. So that's been

Speaker:

nice. Um, it's exciting.

Speaker:

Um, I think it might be our biggest year ever,

Speaker:

bud.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, I mean, I'm m happy for you.

Speaker:

>> RB: Which, that's exciting for everyone involved.

Speaker:

Um, but yeah, dude, it's, it's great.

Speaker:

So I'm excited for uh, the new

Speaker:

year. Set some new goals. You know, last year I

Speaker:

had or 2024, I, I, I mean my year was

Speaker:

summed up with a bat and a Q tip.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, which, sorry, I don't think

Speaker:

we discussed the Q tip story.

Speaker:

Um, but I was leaving for a work trip about

Speaker:

two weeks ago and it was 4:30 in

Speaker:

the morning and I went to put a Q tip in

Speaker:

my ears just so I remember to clean my ears out. So I let it, I laid

Speaker:

a Q tip on in each like ear

Speaker:

canal. Just laid it in there

Speaker:

softly. And I went to throw my sport coat

Speaker:

on. Well, my right arm

Speaker:

hit the Q tip and drove it straight into my eardrum.

Speaker:

Punctured the eardrum. Oh,

Speaker:

Sounded m like I was in a tunnel for about two weeks.

Speaker:

But I feel like we're coming back a little bit, so.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Damn, dude. Um, at least it gives you excuse you

Speaker:

could tell somebody can't hear it. Tell.

Speaker:

>> RB: She's saying every time she talks to me, I go to, to like

Speaker:

where move her on my right side so I can't hear.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I'm sorry to hear that. And I'm naturally acting like

Speaker:

that's the first time I heard this story. But uh, I did know that. I'm

Speaker:

happy you're getting better. Um, you know, it's funny. Jewelry.

Speaker:

Everyone needs to buy it every year, no matter what. You get the. You get

Speaker:

the little uptick in inflation. Prices are going up.

Speaker:

That's just because of it. And you still get the

Speaker:

sale, man. So kudos to you and BK for

Speaker:

doing what you do. You know, it's fun. It's fun,

Speaker:

but we are.

Speaker:

>> RB: We're having fun doing it.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So today's episode, you

Speaker:

know, it's kind of a reconnecting episode, kind of a

Speaker:

weird episode. Not from a standpoint of,

Speaker:

you know, having someone on that that you all might know,

Speaker:

but we're connecting with a few buddies of

Speaker:

ours from the past and says, and

Speaker:

Sully, Ryan Sullivan actually plays on a Korn Ferry tour.

Speaker:

Really legitimate golfer, absolute smoke

Speaker:

and says is, uh, with acoustic net.

Speaker:

And, uh, the whole point of it was they had

Speaker:

a hell of a lot of stories to tell, man. And

Speaker:

I think that's. That's kind of why I

Speaker:

decided that this episode is just called Stories.

Speaker:

>> RB: Stories from Story.

Speaker:

We already had that. But, yeah, I mean, we've got some

Speaker:

cool stories from Michael Jordan to

Speaker:

Donald J. Trump, um,

Speaker:

that you guys are gonna love to hear that. Um,

Speaker:

but I think, too, man, whenever people start listening, you know,

Speaker:

Sully, uh, to tell you guys

Speaker:

how hard the game of golf is, um,

Speaker:

and talk about chasing birdies, he legitimately did

Speaker:

that in 2024. On

Speaker:

Monday, qualifiers for the PGA Tour, everybody asked, well, why

Speaker:

aren't you playing? Or, why don't you try? So this is going to

Speaker:

answer everyone's questions, all right?

Speaker:

Sully shot 64 under par

Speaker:

cumulative for all the Monday

Speaker:

qualifiers this year, and he did not qualify for

Speaker:

one PGA Tour event. So for all

Speaker:

you people that, oh, my buddy's really good. My

Speaker:

buddy's awesome at golf. No, Bud, no. He

Speaker:

shot 64 under. Your buddy hasn't shot 64

Speaker:

under in his life, let alone.

Speaker:

So, um, but again, it's

Speaker:

to tell you how hard it really is out there. And.

Speaker:

And he is the definition of chasing birdies.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So, yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, without further ado, I think that we should roll it on over

Speaker:

to Sez and. And Sully and let them tell us a

Speaker:

little bit about what's been shaken down in the last couple

Speaker:

years.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Yeah. Let's go. You guys enjoy this

Speaker:

one. All right, you guys

Speaker:

tuning in today? Uh, we're joined

Speaker:

by two long lost friends of

Speaker:

ours, Pep and I, Kyle, who's

Speaker:

working with Acushnet companies right now. Title is Footjoy

Speaker:

for you people out there that don't know the lingo.

Speaker:

And our boy Sully. Ryan Sul Sullivan, who, you

Speaker:

know, played a couple PGA events, um, a

Speaker:

couple US Opens under his belt. But, uh, we just

Speaker:

felt like we hadn't connected with these guys in quite some time.

Speaker:

And. And today, with it being around the Christmas

Speaker:

holiday season, New year, I just wanted to

Speaker:

rekindle this relationship with you boys

Speaker:

and get you in the pod. So come on with

Speaker:

it.

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: Let's go, man.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I know this is the first time. Yeah, no,

Speaker:

it's a. This is a weird. It's a fourth. This would be a great

Speaker:

foursome, actually, on the golf course. I feel like. Yeah, I was

Speaker:

gonna say threesome, but worse.

Speaker:

Be a great one. Be a great one.

Speaker:

>> RB: So, boys, it's good to see you.

Speaker:

Uh, um, I was just talking to Eric Childers, uh,

Speaker:

this morning, actually, and he. I said, I need some. Some extra

Speaker:

material here. And he didn't really give me much because he

Speaker:

said none of it's appropriate for the podcast. So

Speaker:

naturally, um, he didn't give me anything

Speaker:

other than asking you what your Tinder handicap

Speaker:

is. Um, do

Speaker:

you want to give me a plus minus on that, or.

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: I mean, Sully's for sure, like, a plus nine.

Speaker:

I might be tickling the scratch. The scratch area, but

Speaker:

Sully's definitely a plus.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: I'm like Scotty Scheffler at the hero

Speaker:

challenge.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, yeah, he just.

Speaker:

>> RB: That was thrown out. He said plus nine.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: So, yeah, with little, uh,

Speaker:

to no wind, you know.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Yeah. Well, good stuff,

Speaker:

man. So I'm happy you guys have handicaps outside of

Speaker:

golf. One, um, of you looks like a

Speaker:

Detroit Lions fan. Oh, yeah, you're still. You're still

Speaker:

the fan of the Detroit lines, buddy.

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: I was there through thick and thin, man. I started with

Speaker:

the 0 and 16 season. I lived in Detroit when I worked for

Speaker:

Nike back about 15, 16 years ago.

Speaker:

Um, I was in Detroit for a few years and then spent, uh,

Speaker:

another five years in Grand Rapids, and, uh, yeah, man,

Speaker:

adopted them then. So I was with them before. It was cool

Speaker:

to be with them. And now, like, everybody, obviously, is jumping on the

Speaker:

bandwagon, but it's fun, man. It's fun to have a

Speaker:

team that's. That's. That's, you know, in the playoffs, back to back years, and

Speaker:

has a chance to win it all.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: So you mentioned Nike, though. Our buddy Steve Piering, who's

Speaker:

a mutual friend of ours. Oh, yeah. He, um, told us he

Speaker:

was the CEO of Nike whenever he was there Is that, like,

Speaker:

part of the partially true or what?

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: Like, I think I told you, Pep. I think, like, I love Peering to death,

Speaker:

but I think, uh, you know, 90 of his

Speaker:

stories are a little fabricated. There's definitely not

Speaker:

all of them. But as we know, like, he gets a little bit

Speaker:

excited, and the. The story, like, just grows and

Speaker:

grows every year.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, you. Bash plays every year with him

Speaker:

at the Two man and Pronghorn, which that's actually

Speaker:

changing this year because Bash, uh, he won't say

Speaker:

it, but he just can't take it anymore.

Speaker:

There's just a letdown. It's every year to let down, dude.

Speaker:

Piering always tells us how good he's playing going into the

Speaker:

event, but he's not good enough to control that game

Speaker:

yet. And, like, so he's playing great. It's the

Speaker:

best golf I've ever played. And he gets there and makes, like, three pars and 18 holes

Speaker:

per batch.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, well, and now he's blaming it on me, you know, because

Speaker:

he. He tells me how well he's playing outside

Speaker:

of. Outside of me as his partner, you know, so he

Speaker:

thinks that the. The myus of his games

Speaker:

stems from me, which that might be true, but, you know,

Speaker:

peering has definitely been, um.

Speaker:

I mean, you just gotta laugh sometimes, man.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: Right?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You just gotta laugh.

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: Hey, there. There may or may not have

Speaker:

been an ask for me to come out this year. So I

Speaker:

don't know if y'all had a divorce yet, Bash, but he may have said,

Speaker:

like, he says, can you make it to Proghorn in September?

Speaker:

And I was like, I know this is. But I don't know if that's, you know.

Speaker:

You know, I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but

Speaker:

that may or may not have been talked about last week.

Speaker:

>> RB: It looks like you and I are partners. This looks like it's all shaping

Speaker:

into.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: What I tell you what.

Speaker:

Yeah, we gotta have a chat because, you know, it's. If

Speaker:

he wants to mutually part ways, I would do it.

Speaker:

Um, it wouldn't be the same. It would not be the same,

Speaker:

I can tell you that.

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: But, boy, that was pretty easy. That Bass was kind of ready for this.

Speaker:

He's like, oh, I dropped him for.

Speaker:

>> RB: A way out, and he got one, and you confirmed it, so we're good

Speaker:

now.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I think he just wants to play better, and I don't think

Speaker:

he, you know, does that with me.

Speaker:

>> RB: But with Sully's U.S. open appearances,

Speaker:

you might want to be taking him, bud, not me.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, I don't know, Sully. I mean, you know, it sounds like

Speaker:

you had, uh, some, some pretty good runs

Speaker:

in that era.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, I like to think I'm still

Speaker:

healthy and playing good golf right now.

Speaker:

I think as you get older, you try to play the

Speaker:

numbers game and look at certain instances like

Speaker:

Philly, Mick, right? Like, that cat wins the PGA

Speaker:

at 50 or 51.

Speaker:

And, you know, he's no exact

Speaker:

fitness, uh, uh, model himself. So if

Speaker:

you're doing the right things, I don't see why

Speaker:

you can't go out, you know, Bernhard longer. That Guy's

Speaker:

in his 60s, and he's like the Tiger woods of

Speaker:

the Champions Tour. I actually had a conversation with my

Speaker:

buddy Tim O'Neill last night, who won recently

Speaker:

on the Champions Tour, and he told me

Speaker:

that, um, Bernhardt hits a seven

Speaker:

iron, like 150 yards. Like, he's not that

Speaker:

short off the tee, but his irons

Speaker:

are unbelievably short. But the, the thing

Speaker:

that separates him, right, is he can get it in the hole

Speaker:

and his irons, uh, are straight and he's

Speaker:

accurate. So at the end of the day, it doesn't really

Speaker:

matter what club you're hitting. But I

Speaker:

think, you know, not to get off topic, but nowadays you hear a

Speaker:

lot about distance and hitting the ball

Speaker:

as far as you could possibly hit it. But there's definitely something to be

Speaker:

said about guys like Bernhard and

Speaker:

the Brendan Todd's of the world.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, yeah, 100%.

Speaker:

>> RB: I think Ryan falls into that. He doesn't hit it a long way, but he knows

Speaker:

where he's going.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I mean, I hit it long enough, but, yeah, I

Speaker:

don't hit it. I'm not a long hitter, but

Speaker:

I'm not necessarily a short knocker either.

Speaker:

>> RB: Bernard Langer, I mean, that guy defines time. Time.

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: Crazy.

Speaker:

>> RB: I mean, I went through a similar injury, not the

Speaker:

Achilles. Got hurt playing Wiffle ball.

Speaker:

Snapped my ankle. And

Speaker:

I hate to say it, and I actually

Speaker:

just. I mean, my demise this year, boys,

Speaker:

has been a Q tip and a Wiffle ball bat. I just blew

Speaker:

my eardrum out with a Q tip last week, so

Speaker:

stop it.

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: Oh, my God.

Speaker:

>> RB: So we're falling apart over here, boys. I'm ready for

Speaker:

20, 25. Um, but I mean,

Speaker:

Sully, you. You just got done with second round of,

Speaker:

uh, second stage, you know, Q school,

Speaker:

and you had 22 birdies and 72 holes. I mean, I

Speaker:

haven't made 22 birdies in a year.

Speaker:

That's exciting. You're obviously playing good golf.

Speaker:

And I guess for, for some of the Listeners, how do

Speaker:

you trying

Speaker:

to make. It is so much patience, right? Because

Speaker:

you're obviously playing well, but you're also probably making

Speaker:

some stupid mistakes that you're not. That you probably don't

Speaker:

make, right? And it's just like, how do you mentally

Speaker:

hold that together?

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: Oh, yeah. I mean, for. I'll give you. I'll give you.

Speaker:

I'll give you a little context. Like, this year, I played

Speaker:

maybe 16 tour Mondays, right?

Speaker:

And I was 64 under par.

Speaker:

So I'm averaging more than four under around.

Speaker:

And I missed. I didn't get into a single one. I missed

Speaker:

nine or 10 by one or two shots.

Speaker:

>> RB: So, I mean, you should 64 cumulative

Speaker:

under par and never got into one PGA

Speaker:

Tour.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: I think it's the first time in my career that I've, like, not

Speaker:

qualified for a tour event. And the weird thing

Speaker:

is, like, I felt like I played my most consistent

Speaker:

golf this year. I switched insane to me. I switched to the

Speaker:

lab putter, uh, last year. And that

Speaker:

was been. That's been a great transition, uh,

Speaker:

for me making, uh, that change because,

Speaker:

you know, if you're missing putts inside of six, eight

Speaker:

feet more than you should, there's just. There's no

Speaker:

making up for that. And so that's been a great

Speaker:

addition to my bag. And unfortunately, I wasn't

Speaker:

able to showcase that, uh, in an actual

Speaker:

tour event this year because I was just the bubble boy. I was the

Speaker:

poster child for bubble boy. I should start a

Speaker:

podcast, actually, called.

Speaker:

>> RB: The Bubble Boy Podcast

Speaker:

Talk or Two Guys, One Cup.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: Um, but, you know, it's a very.

Speaker:

I recently went on a podcast, and the guy was

Speaker:

congratulating me. The host was saying, you know, congrats on

Speaker:

a great year. And it's a weird feeling to hear that because

Speaker:

usually when you think of, like, success, you

Speaker:

can kind of have a little bit of a direct correlation to

Speaker:

compensation. But when your bank account goes the other

Speaker:

way and you feel like your golf game is getting

Speaker:

better, it's just a very weird emotion.

Speaker:

And, uh, you know, back to your point of staying

Speaker:

patient, I think that you have to really cliche.

Speaker:

Trust the process and know that the work that you're doing

Speaker:

is going to parlay success. You know, maybe

Speaker:

not immediately, but it's just like math, right,

Speaker:

guys? Like, if you are consistently knocking on the

Speaker:

door, uh, it's very likely that

Speaker:

you'll bust that door down sooner than later.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Is that what 64 under did?

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: Silly not to go, like, host mode here, but I just

Speaker:

curious, like, let's go.

Speaker:

What's the mentality like though on a Monday versus like a,

Speaker:

you know, four day Q school that you just got done doing. Like, I mean

Speaker:

obviously you're just gonna try to, you're trying to rip birdies, right? You know, you

Speaker:

gotta shoot 64, 65. But like, how does that

Speaker:

mindset, it's gotta be just gnarly.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: Yeah, no, that's a great question. Uh,

Speaker:

because in a Monday, right, like let's just

Speaker:

say for simplistic purposes, we have

Speaker:

150 guys in the field and there's

Speaker:

only four spots allocated, you know, that

Speaker:

you're going to have to put up a pretty low score on the board, right.

Speaker:

Like, assuming the golf course is

Speaker:

relatively benign, you're going to have to shoot six or

Speaker:

seven under par. So if you get off to a

Speaker:

slow start and you're even through six holes, you

Speaker:

really have to turn the jets on, otherwise you're burning

Speaker:

daylight. And whereas in a four

Speaker:

round tournament you might not be, you know, too

Speaker:

bad a shape being even par through six or seven holes because you got

Speaker:

a ton of golf left to play. So I actually, you know, I'm

Speaker:

full capable of going out and shooting nine under

Speaker:

par, but I would prefer to have a

Speaker:

four round tournament, uh, where I can, you

Speaker:

know, not be out of it after shooting a three

Speaker:

under par. Right, right. So Q

Speaker:

school for me is actually, I, I, I don't mind it

Speaker:

in terms of the structure, but it obviously

Speaker:

sucks when you have to go out and

Speaker:

perform that week, you know, and you could

Speaker:

play great perfectly all year long

Speaker:

and all of a sudden you have like one bad

Speaker:

round or one not. I kind of had a, a

Speaker:

middling week. I shot one under every single day.

Speaker:

I think I shot even the last day, but I missed by

Speaker:

five. The number to get out was eight. And I was

Speaker:

telling the guys before you got on, you know, it was 32

Speaker:

degrees three out of the four days, um,

Speaker:

you can't hardly feel your hands. I felt like an

Speaker:

arthritic geriatric out there trying to play for my

Speaker:

tour card. And you know,

Speaker:

uh, you can't, you know, you can make excuses, but

Speaker:

it's not going to do anything. Like it is what it is. Everybody had to

Speaker:

deal with it. And um, kudos to the

Speaker:

guys, the, I guess 17 guys that shot eight

Speaker:

under better. That's solid playing on a

Speaker:

7,600 yard golf course and the greens are rolling

Speaker:

like, uh, what did Gary McCord say?

Speaker:

Bikini wax on a swimsuit

Speaker:

stuff, something on a goal.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, it's the uh, the

Speaker:

jolly Trot, man, you. It sounds like you were doing a jolly trot a

Speaker:

lot this year, man. That's. That's the trot. You know, in

Speaker:

between the holes, when you're walking to your ball, you know, you're under par

Speaker:

your're trying not to think about it, but you're feeling really good, and you're just

Speaker:

kind of, you know, you just kind of grooving and moving a little bit. And I

Speaker:

think, you know, that's what separates so

Speaker:

many of the, I don't want to say

Speaker:

amateur, the. The top echelon of amateur golfers

Speaker:

to these pros, and then specifically from just

Speaker:

regular golfers to upper echelon amateur

Speaker:

golfers is the fact that people don't know how to

Speaker:

control that sometimes, you know, next thing you know, you.

Speaker:

You get in a situation, you're four, five under par, you're

Speaker:

feeling good, you're jolly right. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: But you're trying not to make mistake.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And then. Yeah, and then. Then bogey happens, and then it's the.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: Old, uh, uh, the

Speaker:

fu app, right? Like, it's all situational. There's levels

Speaker:

to it. There's guys that are, let's say, scratch

Speaker:

golfers, and they're two or three under par and they're

Speaker:

trying not to up versus, like, let's push.

Speaker:

Let's push the needle and get it to 4 or 5.

Speaker:

>> RB: Pedal the metal, boys.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: Yeah, absolutely. You know, um,

Speaker:

so, you know, again, back to the point of,

Speaker:

like, Kyle asking what the difference is.

Speaker:

When somebody back home that's supporting me sees

Speaker:

my scorecard, right, and they see I make a, uh. Let's just

Speaker:

say I hypothetically make a late double boge on a

Speaker:

par five. That's a risky par five. And they're like, well,

Speaker:

why didn't you lay up? It was like, well, listen here,

Speaker:

hobnob, if I lay up and make birdie,

Speaker:

I'm gonna miss by one. It doesn't do me any good,

Speaker:

right? If I need that situational eagle, I have

Speaker:

to do the tin cup and go for it and 2.

Speaker:

Otherwise, I'm trunk slam. And it doesn't make a difference if

Speaker:

I shoot two under par or five under par. When

Speaker:

you need six under par, that's what you need.

Speaker:

Um, you know, and there's a lot of

Speaker:

these idiosyncrasies and subtle nuances

Speaker:

to Monday qualifying versus

Speaker:

four. Ah, day tournament that people don't understand. It's a

Speaker:

very weird dynamic when you shoot

Speaker:

500 par bogey free, and you trunk slam

Speaker:

and you drive to the next town and you just cost yourself

Speaker:

fifteen hundred dollars. And it's like, man, I feel like a loser because

Speaker:

I didn't get one of those four spots. But at the

Speaker:

same time, I'm playing some really good golf

Speaker:

and I just need that break, right? And I've

Speaker:

had, you know, I don't know, 50 starts

Speaker:

maybe on the kornferry web.com so I've had my

Speaker:

opportunities, but I didn't have my lab

Speaker:

like snake killing broom putter in the past, which I

Speaker:

would have loved to have had because I, I may

Speaker:

have been on, you know, uh, the live or the

Speaker:

PGA Tour by now and.

Speaker:

>> RB: What, Scotty Cameron didn't make one for you, huh?

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: No, Scott.

Speaker:

>> RB: I know a guy by

Speaker:

Childers. But you know, we were just

Speaker:

with, we, um, were just with. And this

Speaker:

question was asked. It was. We were sitting around table at Old

Speaker:

Hickory and I never really thought of it, but,

Speaker:

um, what is the worst golf course you've ever

Speaker:

played? And there were two responses

Speaker:

that were hilarious at the table. One was from Tyler Reeve. He

Speaker:

said, I don't play bad golf courses

Speaker:

because he's just, he's a golf course snob. He

Speaker:

is. And John Daly said

Speaker:

anything that the usga,

Speaker:

anywhere the USGA puts a tournament on is the worst

Speaker:

golf course.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: I know. He hates pine earth number two.

Speaker:

>> RB: Oh, that, uh, 17, where he just

Speaker:

smashes it across the green. So for you guys,

Speaker:

are there any golf courses? You're just like this

Speaker:

dumb lady just.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Turned off the lights in the whole house. That's nice.

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: Nice. Nice. I mean, I'm always,

Speaker:

I don't know about like, yeah, like you guys, but I feel like I

Speaker:

always kind of rate. This is gonna sound maybe shallow, but I always like to

Speaker:

rate the golf course by like greens, greens and

Speaker:

green speed first. You know, I think I kind of, I start at the greens,

Speaker:

work my way back kind of thing. Um, I mean, layout

Speaker:

obviously is important, but for me, if I'm playing a golf

Speaker:

course and it's. If it might be, you know, I play some, some

Speaker:

like, amateur stuff, some higher level amateur stuff across kind of

Speaker:

the Midwest. And if I'm playing, uh, a, you know, mid AM

Speaker:

qualifier and you go out there and the greens are rolling

Speaker:

seven and a half. I've had that before where they're rolling seven, seven and a half and

Speaker:

you're just ripping putts all day and it's not what it should

Speaker:

be like. To me, that's just, that's, that's going to be in

Speaker:

the back of my mind, like, I don't like this golf course. And, um, it's nothing

Speaker:

to do maybe, with the layout, but that's the way I've always kind of

Speaker:

looked at them. But I don't know about you, Sully, but I'm sure, like,

Speaker:

you guys are always playing pristine, like, elevens, I'm sure on, um, the

Speaker:

green wise, but I'm always ranking kind of

Speaker:

greens first is how I look at it.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: But I would rather play a golf course that's a little rough

Speaker:

around the edges, that has good greens,

Speaker:

than vice versa, where a golf course is,

Speaker:

like, nice, but then the green suck. So I.

Speaker:

I agree with you in that point.

Speaker:

>> RB: In terms of looking basically Yakag.

Speaker:

You would love Yakagani. The greens are good. Everything

Speaker:

else is.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So that's a. Yeah, that's a good. That's a good point. And I

Speaker:

would agree with you. I think Pep would, too.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: Like, I don't. I don't know that I necessarily

Speaker:

directly agree with JD in terms of, like, just because it's

Speaker:

a usga, but I think that's something I do,

Speaker:

uh, find similar to. What he's probably getting at

Speaker:

is that he doesn't think the USGA sets golf courses up

Speaker:

fair for their championships. And I tend to

Speaker:

dislike courses that punish you

Speaker:

unfairly for, like, good shots. And I've played golf

Speaker:

courses like Fire Wheel. Fire Wheel is a

Speaker:

course near Dallas, Texas, that we've played for Q

Speaker:

school. And they've got holes out there where, like,

Speaker:

get hit a shot that's really not that bad, and then you find yourself out

Speaker:

of bounds. It's like, all right, this isn't fun. You know, like, this

Speaker:

is just not. This is not how golf is meant to be

Speaker:

played. And this is coming from a professional standpoint. So you can

Speaker:

imagine what a handicap golfer would feel like if

Speaker:

they're out there and they're going through a dozen golf

Speaker:

balls by the front nine.

Speaker:

>> RB: Sully, I. I, uh, have a question for you.

Speaker:

Um, you know, Donald J. Trump

Speaker:

was, uh, just named president a few weeks ago, and,

Speaker:

um, I understand that you've caddied in his

Speaker:

group, um, or caddy for him.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: No, I played with him.

Speaker:

>> RB: I played with him.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: I was. I was his partner.

Speaker:

>> RB: Oh, you were.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: I'd appreciate if you never disrespect me.

Speaker:

>> Speaker A: Like that, but I might have gave some bad

Speaker:

intel.

Speaker:

>> RB: I mean, but don't get mad at me, all right?

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: That was just secondhand information.

Speaker:

>> RB: So you've played with Donald Trump.

Speaker:

Okay. Fill me in on his putting and what

Speaker:

that round was like, because I think it's hysterical when he's playing

Speaker:

golf. Just the pants so far up everything.

Speaker:

>> Speaker D: Yeah. So I'll just give you the full

Speaker:

scoopy real quick. I was down in, um,

Speaker:

West Palm beach last year during the week of the

Speaker:

PGA tournament at pga, ah, national. And my

Speaker:

buddy Marcus Bird, um, was playing in

Speaker:

the event and he missed the cut. So he reached out to

Speaker:

me on Friday and asked if I

Speaker:

was in town still. And I told him I was and he goes,

Speaker:

well, let's go, let's go run it at Trump

Speaker:

International right near Mar a Lago. I was like, sick because

Speaker:

I've never, I played the one in Jupiter. I love that course

Speaker:

next to Bears. And so, uh,

Speaker:

we had a tee time for let's say 9:00am

Speaker:

So I mean I treat this shit serious. I get out there

at 8 00:26:23

00am um, warming up. I'm taking

at 8 00:26:26

it very serious. I want to play good.

at 8 00:26:29

And uh, Kyle Berkshire, the world number

at 8 00:26:31

one, uh, long driver is a guy, uh, that I've

at 8 00:26:34

been around a little bit. And he was going to play with us as well because him

at 8 00:26:37

and Marcus are both from Baltimore, right.

at 8 00:26:40

So they've played together in the past. So Kyle and I are

at 8 00:26:43

warming up on the range and uh, funny

at 8 00:26:46

little side story, while we're waiting on Marcus,

at 8 00:26:48

Kyle's launching eight irons into the stratosphere.

at 8 00:26:51

And I've got binoculars looking up and he's asking

at 8 00:26:54

me if he, I think he should chase

at 8 00:26:57

pro golf. And I'm like, I don't know how to

at 8 00:26:59

let him down nicely other than just say, look, you're

at 8 00:27:02

making a million dollars plus a year with Cobra

at 8 00:27:05

and all the stuff. Like, stick to doing what you do

at 8 00:27:08

best, right?

at 8 00:27:09

>> RB: Because stay in your lane.

at 8 00:27:10

>> Speaker D: You're not going to beat, you're not going to beat

at 8 00:27:13

me and you're definitely not going to beat Scotty

at 8 00:27:15

Scheffler, uh, in a

at 8 00:27:18

72 hole golf tournament, you know. But,

at 8 00:27:20

um, anyway, so Marcus

at 8 00:27:23

may or may not have had a little bit of too, too many

at 8 00:27:26

surveys on Friday night. So he was slow

at 8 00:27:29

getting out to the course on Saturday

at 8 00:27:31

morning. And apparently before

at 8 00:27:34

Marcus ended up finally getting out there, Trump and his

at 8 00:27:37

guys showed up on the front slab and

at 8 00:27:40

they got wind that Kyle was on property. And

at 8 00:27:43

Trump loves watching Kyle blast it, you know,

at 8 00:27:45

400 plus. So he sent a couple of guys

at 8 00:27:48

to the back to, to bring us to the front. And

at 8 00:27:51

you know, obviously, uh, with Secret Service,

at 8 00:27:54

well, I mean, actually maybe too soon, but with the

at 8 00:27:57

Secret Service he had at the time, they were able

at 8 00:28:00

to pull, uh, up my file and see, I Didn't have

at 8 00:28:03

any outstanding warrants, and I was a pro golfer. And

at 8 00:28:06

so when I met him, he asked me, you know, Sully, wait a minute.

at 8 00:28:09

>> RB: Real quick timeout. So they actually, like, they

at 8 00:28:12

knew.

at 8 00:28:13

>> Speaker D: They.

at 8 00:28:13

>> Speaker A: They.

at 8 00:28:14

>> Speaker D: Yeah, like, if you're on the property, they're

at 8 00:28:17

gonna vet you. They're gonna know, like, who's around, obviously.

at 8 00:28:20

Right.

at 8 00:28:20

>> RB: I wish they would have, like, pulled your Tinder profile. Like, is this you?

at 8 00:28:23

>> Speaker D: This guy?

at 8 00:28:24

>> Speaker A: This guy. He's definitely playing with Trump today.

at 8 00:28:27

>> Speaker D: Yeah. Uh,

at 8 00:28:30

from my vodka. Anyway, so

at 8 00:28:34

I, uh, I went up and shook his hand, and it was a.

at 8 00:28:37

It was a pretty surreal feeling, you know, because I've met a lot

at 8 00:28:40

of big time people like Kyle Sesniak and

at 8 00:28:43

so forth, and I've been, uh, I've been able to

at 8 00:28:46

handle it pretty well. And he said, all right, you're the

at 8 00:28:49

pro. Hit me an eight iron. So I pulled out my eight

at 8 00:28:51

iron, I striped it, dead straight. And then he said,

at 8 00:28:54

hit me a driver. I striped driver, dead straight. And he

at 8 00:28:57

goes, kyle, I got Sully. And

at 8 00:29:00

I'm, uh, like, holy crap. Like this. This is not what I

at 8 00:29:03

was expecting. So now me and Uncle

at 8 00:29:06

Donnie and one other guy is playing against,

at 8 00:29:09

uh, um, Kyle

at 8 00:29:11

Berkshire and three guys. And, you know,

at 8 00:29:14

I. Like we just mentioned earlier with,

at 8 00:29:17

uh, my buddy McGowan and first tee jitters at US

at 8 00:29:19

Open. Like, there's levels to this. So I've

at 8 00:29:22

been. I've been nervous, but this is a different kind of

at 8 00:29:25

nervous when you are being watched by

at 8 00:29:28

a very historical figure.

at 8 00:29:31

It's. It's a cool different feeling.

at 8 00:29:33

And I ended up bogeying my first hole. And.

at 8 00:29:36

And President Trump parted, and he ribbed

at 8 00:29:39

me going to the next tee. He said, uh, sully, I thought you were the

at 8 00:29:42

pro. And, uh, so I go And

at 8 00:29:45

I birdie seven of the next 11 and kind

at 8 00:29:48

of let, uh, him know what's up. And by the end of the

at 8 00:29:51

day, I think I shot

at 8 00:29:52

67. And he signed my

at 8 00:29:55

card. 45. 47. Right. He was

at 8 00:29:58

manifesting his, uh, next win. No, when was

at 8 00:30:01

this? And my dumb. This is last

at 8 00:30:04

March. And I had the scorecard, and

at 8 00:30:06

I left it in my rental car and.

at 8 00:30:09

>> Speaker A: Oh, no, you sent me a photo of

at 8 00:30:11

that.

at 8 00:30:12

>> Speaker D: Oh, yeah, I have a photo of it, but the card

at 8 00:30:15

is mia and,

at 8 00:30:17

uh, so we had lunch after, and

at 8 00:30:20

it was a really, you know, it was a presidential

at 8 00:30:22

table. Round table. Had a really good.

at 8 00:30:26

Yeah, exactly. And, uh,

at 8 00:30:28

Berkshire was really complimentary. He said that he's

at 8 00:30:31

played a lot of golf with, um, DeChambeau,

at 8 00:30:34

and he's never seen um, Bryson

at 8 00:30:37

hit his irons as well as I did that day, which was a nice, you

at 8 00:30:40

know, thing to hear, and especially in front of Trump. And

at 8 00:30:43

as you guys know, Trump really likes playing with good golfers and

at 8 00:30:46

being around pretty women. So I think that that round

at 8 00:30:49

of golf, uh, kind of spurred on

at 8 00:30:52

more interactions. So I ended up,

at 8 00:30:54

uh, getting an invite to, uh, Mar A

at 8 00:30:57

Lago. I had dinner, um, with

at 8 00:31:00

him there. I had another lunch with

at 8 00:31:03

Angelina Jolie's dad. Um,

at 8 00:31:05

and, uh, I met,

at 8 00:31:08

uh, some really prolific people in the political

at 8 00:31:11

realm. And then I ended up getting flown up to New York

at 8 00:31:14

City and going and meeting, uh, Greg

at 8 00:31:16

Norman at the live event at Bedminster with the hopes

at 8 00:31:19

of maybe getting a live start. You know, like, when we were

at 8 00:31:22

at dinner at Mar A Lago, Trump asked me, if

at 8 00:31:25

he were to, you know, make it happen, if I would go. And I. I

at 8 00:31:28

looked him right in the eye, and I said, I will convert, uh, to

at 8 00:31:31

Islam. You just show me where to sign.

at 8 00:31:35

>> Speaker A: Only with the only solely could infiltrate the

at 8 00:31:38

president and all the people that he's surrounded by. It's

at 8 00:31:41

amazing.

at 8 00:31:42

>> Jonathan: So that is. That. I mean, I can't

at 8 00:31:45

believe he lost the card.

at 8 00:31:47

>> Speaker D: Yeah, that's. That's probably one of my biggest

at 8 00:31:49

regrets, you know.

at 8 00:31:51

>> Jonathan: But so what happened? So, to live, they.

at 8 00:31:54

>> Speaker D: So I. Right around the time that I met

at 8 00:31:57

Greg, uh, out there at Bedminster,

at 8 00:32:00

um, it was when John Rom

at 8 00:32:03

went and kind of made the contractual

at 8 00:32:05

agreement. So when you've got, like, you know,

at 8 00:32:08

the world number one or two switching over, it becomes

at 8 00:32:11

a bit of a closed shop. Right? Like, it was. I was

at 8 00:32:14

really thankful that I got in front of Greg and had

at 8 00:32:17

a conversation with him and got my face to the name and all

at 8 00:32:20

that jazz. But at the same time, the

at 8 00:32:23

Lefties were, like, suing the. Out of Trump. And it

at 8 00:32:26

was not good timing because I. I couldn't

at 8 00:32:29

exactly, like, call him up and be like, hey, remember that

at 8 00:32:32

whole, like, live conversation? So,

at 8 00:32:35

um, yeah, like, I'm still.

at 8 00:32:37

>> RB: You still. Do you still communicate with him?

at 8 00:32:40

>> Speaker D: So I had his secretary's

at 8 00:32:43

email, and, um, I would reach

at 8 00:32:46

out to her and then coordinate that way.

at 8 00:32:49

And I also have his best friend's cell

at 8 00:32:51

phone number and a very prominent, uh,

at 8 00:32:54

CEO of a news station's

at 8 00:32:57

information. So with those contacts, that's kind

at 8 00:33:00

of how I, uh, quote, unquote, infiltrate

at 8 00:33:03

the, uh, president.

at 8 00:33:05

>> Speaker A: We still, uh, Sully.

at 8 00:33:06

>> Speaker D: We.

at 8 00:33:07

>> Speaker A: So just so you guys know, we little tie in. Uh, after Sully

at 8 00:33:10

did all this and show me pictures of the scorecard,

at 8 00:33:13

he actually sent me a photo that's actually Kind of

at 8 00:33:15

a, uh, lot. What Pep has in the background over his head,

at 8 00:33:19

um, a mural of Trump wearing, like, a Tommy

at 8 00:33:22

Hilfiger sweater, looking all young.

at 8 00:33:24

>> Speaker D: Oh, yeah, that was it. Ah, that was at Mar a Lago.

at 8 00:33:26

Yeah. Like, it was very, like, it was like a wedding

at 8 00:33:29

crashers, like, mural type thing.

at 8 00:33:32

>> Speaker A: It was amazing.

at 8 00:33:33

>> RB: But.

at 8 00:33:33

>> Speaker A: But because of this, I was like, hey, Sully, we got to, like, get Trump

at 8 00:33:36

a little thank you gift. And luckily, Obviously, working for

at 8 00:33:39

FootJoy was like, Sully, here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to order

at 8 00:33:42

a pair of my joys because I know he wears FootJoy shoes.

at 8 00:33:45

Um, he wears that all white upper right with, like, a black midsole.

at 8 00:33:48

I'm like, sully, I'm going to put together a little custom pair.

at 8 00:33:51

So this again, back a year ago, whatever it was, we did a

at 8 00:33:54

American flag on one heel because we can obviously, uh, do

at 8 00:33:57

some customized, uh, customization on the heel. And then on the

at 8 00:34:00

other heel, we put 45, 47.

at 8 00:34:03

And so, uh, I shipped them down to Sully's guy,

at 8 00:34:06

put a little thank you card in there for Sully. And. And, like, I

at 8 00:34:09

didn't. I never got him to him. So I've been looking for,

at 8 00:34:11

like, every time I see Trump on social media, I'm, like, looking down at the shoes, trying to

at 8 00:34:14

see if there's a little heel, American flag or a little.

at 8 00:34:17

>> Speaker D: Can you imagine? Can you imagine if, uh, that

at 8 00:34:20

nut job had, like, picked them off at the golf

at 8 00:34:22

course and they, like, found him on the fairway and he

at 8 00:34:25

was wearing those shoes?

at 8 00:34:27

>> RB: Right, Right.

at 8 00:34:29

>> Speaker A: Yeah, that was pretty cool, man. M. Yeah,

at 8 00:34:32

that's.

at 8 00:34:32

>> Jonathan: That's.

at 8 00:34:33

>> RB: That's the coolest part of this whole story, is that he signed the

at 8 00:34:35

scorecard a year and a half ago and put 45,

at 8 00:34:39

47.

at 8 00:34:39

>> Speaker A: Right?

at 8 00:34:40

>> Speaker D: Yes.

at 8 00:34:40

>> Jonathan: Poor Shadow.

at 8 00:34:41

>> Speaker D: Yeah, he was manifest, baby.

at 8 00:34:43

>> Speaker A: Yeah.

at 8 00:34:43

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

at 8 00:34:46

So, Kyle, you getting, uh, you and Sully,

at 8 00:34:49

I mean, it sounds like you guys are kind of yucking it up a little bit

at 8 00:34:51

together.

at 8 00:34:52

>> Speaker A: We. We go. We go a little ways back. We've had some,

at 8 00:34:54

uh, some late nights out.

at 8 00:34:56

>> RB: Uh, I got.

at 8 00:34:57

>> Speaker D: I got to play with Kyle in St. Louis years

at 8 00:35:00

back, and I didn't know him at the time, but I

at 8 00:35:03

was really impressed with his game. And then to find out

at 8 00:35:06

he works, you know, uh, a job, and

at 8 00:35:09

he's not out grinding like I am every day was

at 8 00:35:12

made it all the more impressive that he's able to just, you

at 8 00:35:15

know, go out there and ball strike it with the pros.

at 8 00:35:18

He definitely could have fooled me.

at 8 00:35:20

>> Speaker A: I appreciate that. We had fun. It was like, what,

at 8 00:35:23

the Missouri Open or whatever?

at 8 00:35:24

>> Speaker D: It was kind of the St. Louis Open. Our guy runs, uh,

at 8 00:35:28

a good tournament there at the Metropolitan. Kurt Rowe. Shout out

at 8 00:35:31

to Kurt Rowe.

at 8 00:35:31

>> Speaker A: Yeah, Kurt. Kurt is the best. So, yeah, it was cool. We met then. Met

at 8 00:35:34

then and, uh, kind of came fast friends. We're both kind of a

at 8 00:35:37

very similar personality that way. And, uh, yeah, we've had some,

at 8 00:35:40

uh, some other late, late, late days, late nights,

at 8 00:35:43

uh, outside the golf course, too.

at 8 00:35:44

>> Speaker D: So just a couple flaming heterosexuals

at 8 00:35:47

that are trying to make it, you know, I. I can.

at 8 00:35:50

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I. I hear you. So.

at 8 00:35:52

But your golf. I mean, I know you said you played a lot of high

at 8 00:35:55

Enameter events, um, but in your

at 8 00:35:58

capacity right now, with Footjoy and Titleists and

at 8 00:36:00

whatnot, I mean, what.

at 8 00:36:01

>> RB: What.

at 8 00:36:01

>> Jonathan: What are your main operations or what you're ahead

at 8 00:36:05

of?

at 8 00:36:05

>> Speaker A: I'm more. I'm more of, uh. Now I'm more on the member, uh,

at 8 00:36:08

guest circuit. I feel like that's like.

at 8 00:36:10

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

at 8 00:36:11

>> Speaker A: As you boys know, is there. I mean, is there literally anything better as,

at 8 00:36:14

uh, as an alpha male that is in his 40s

at 8 00:36:17

who's competitive as. Like, is there. Honestly, is there anything

at 8 00:36:20

better? You can't just go pick up a basketball and go run at the Y

at 8 00:36:23

and at a high level or, you know, go pick up a baseball bat

at 8 00:36:26

and go play baseball. But, I mean, you can compete with one of your

at 8 00:36:29

boys drinking, smoking, doing all that stuff, right?

at 8 00:36:32

Having a stogie, and you're out competing in member

at 8 00:36:35

guest play. And, like, for me, that there's nothing better. Like, that's

at 8 00:36:37

the one thing I'll. I still play in a few, you know,

at 8 00:36:40

amateur events around town. But, um, you know, if I want to get

at 8 00:36:43

my game sharp, it's around, like, member guest stuff because that's. There's nothing

at 8 00:36:46

better.

at 8 00:36:47

>> Jonathan: Yeah, the member guest gets circled on the calendar, like, a

at 8 00:36:50

year in advance. Like, hey, we just finished

at 8 00:36:53

Saturdays round, last nine hole match. Hey,

at 8 00:36:56

hey, Bob, you know when. When this is next year. What's the date?

at 8 00:36:59

>> Speaker A: Right? Say that day.

at 8 00:37:00

>> Jonathan: 21St, 24th. All right. Pep, do you hear that?

at 8 00:37:02

>> Speaker A: Get the misses locked up. You're telling her. This is an annual thing. You

at 8 00:37:05

sell once and you're all in. You're in forever. So that's. There's nothing better,

at 8 00:37:08

man.

at 8 00:37:09

>> Jonathan: But okay, I got a question for you. How do you, like,

at 8 00:37:13

when you're. Okay going back

at 8 00:37:16

to kind of the whole thing with Piering? You know, we played Pronghorn now

at 8 00:37:19

for, I don't know, five years, six years. But, like,

at 8 00:37:22

at what Point. And this is a question for

at 8 00:37:25

both you, so you can answer it separately. But at what

at 8 00:37:28

point do you

at 8 00:37:31

say, you know what? It might be time to get a new partner? I mean, this isn't a

at 8 00:37:33

perpetual thing. You know what I mean? So,

at 8 00:37:36

uh, at what point? Like, what is it, dude?

at 8 00:37:39

>> Speaker A: It's hard. I mean, I'll let Sully answer, too, but I think. I mean, it's

at 8 00:37:42

just one of those things you don't, you know, if you go three, four, five

at 8 00:37:45

years in a row not getting it done, and maybe you start having those,

at 8 00:37:48

like, weird bickering moments or those moments of, like,

at 8 00:37:51

where someone misses that four footer and they give you that look, and

at 8 00:37:54

you're like, that look means we need a divorce, man. You know what I'm saying? Like, we all

at 8 00:37:57

know that look, right? Like, somebody hit that. That foul

at 8 00:37:59

ball shot, and you're like, you look at that guy like, what the was that? Right? So,

at 8 00:38:02

like that.

at 8 00:38:03

>> Speaker D: If you're getting the same vibes of, like, tension you

at 8 00:38:06

have at home, um, with your wife when you're arguing, then it's time

at 8 00:38:09

to split.

at 8 00:38:10

>> Speaker A: I'm annoyed by my partner vibe. You know?

at 8 00:38:13

It's like, all right, man. Man, let's. Let's be done with this.

at 8 00:38:15

>> Jonathan: Right?

at 8 00:38:15

>> RB: Like, I don't think we Bash. I haven't gotten. I mean,

at 8 00:38:18

maybe you have, but I haven't gotten to that point with you yet.

at 8 00:38:20

>> Jonathan: Well, I don't.

at 8 00:38:22

>> Speaker A: That's good. Yeah.

at 8 00:38:23

>> Jonathan: I mean, I don't get it.

at 8 00:38:24

>> Speaker D: Y'all are still in the honeymoon phase.

at 8 00:38:26

>> RB: Yeah, we're still in love.

at 8 00:38:28

>> Jonathan: I don't ever bicker with Steve. We don't bicker. I. I

at 8 00:38:31

just shake my head. I'm like, what in the hell did you.

at 8 00:38:34

>> RB: He put this video collage together from last year.

at 8 00:38:37

You have to send it to them. It is the funniest

at 8 00:38:40

thing ever of Steve peering in the woods,

at 8 00:38:43

walking on the woods, hitting it out of the woods,

at 8 00:38:46

topping it, walking off the tee from his top tee

at 8 00:38:49

shot. Like, it is the funniest thing you've ever

at 8 00:38:51

seen.

at 8 00:38:52

>> Jonathan: I know.

at 8 00:38:52

>> Speaker A: Um, I think, too, like, it might get to a point, too. I

at 8 00:38:55

don't know if it's. You know, sometimes it gets to a point where, like, those vibes

at 8 00:38:58

start going kind of a little bit south or whatever. And then all of a

at 8 00:39:01

sudden, you know, that person kind of is losing confidence

at 8 00:39:04

now because he's thinking like, oh, man, my partner. I said, I've been

at 8 00:39:07

playing great, and I just made, you know, three straight doubles. And he's looking at

at 8 00:39:10

me like, what the fuck you know, and I think that's. That. That can add a little

at 8 00:39:13

bit of random pressure for no reason. That's just internal

at 8 00:39:16

shit that you do to yourself, right, with like a certain partner.

at 8 00:39:19

But, I mean, that's just. I don't know, it's just funny.

at 8 00:39:22

>> Jonathan: Um, no, it is. And I don't take offense.

at 8 00:39:25

You know what I mean? Like, in other words, if someone

at 8 00:39:28

was breaking up with me, I'd be like, yo,

at 8 00:39:31

good luck, man. I hope it works out for you.

at 8 00:39:34

That's great, you know,

at 8 00:39:37

but some people might not be like that. What do you think, Sully? I mean,

at 8 00:39:40

you think that's you probably on the same page as Kyle.

at 8 00:39:43

>> Speaker D: I mean, not again, not to veer off topic

at 8 00:39:46

here, but hearing that last bit kind of made me think of

at 8 00:39:49

something in that I play a lot of pro ams, right? So I

at 8 00:39:51

get a different variety of personalities

at 8 00:39:54

and egos and all that stuff. And

at 8 00:39:57

there's nothing more humbling than the game of golf, right? You

at 8 00:40:00

know, and I'll. And I'll meet some of these corporate bigwig

at 8 00:40:03

guys who, you know, if it's a pro am day, we're all supposed

at 8 00:40:06

to be on a team, so I'm obviously, obviously rooting. We're supposed to have a good

at 8 00:40:08

time. But there are just some epic douchebags that you'll meet

at 8 00:40:11

in the corporate world and in life. And it's almost

at 8 00:40:14

low key, hilarious to watch a guy like that

at 8 00:40:17

struggle and top a ball or play.

at 8 00:40:20

Like. And they'll always have an excuse,

at 8 00:40:23

right? Like, it's not them. It's. Something's wrong with

at 8 00:40:26

the club, um, or whatever. It's like, dude, you're

at 8 00:40:28

awful. Like, you're absolutely terrible. And if

at 8 00:40:31

you weren't such a douche, like, it wouldn't

at 8 00:40:34

be so funny. But, you know, because

at 8 00:40:37

you are the way that you are. I just feel like it's karma

at 8 00:40:40

or something. I don't know.

at 8 00:40:41

>> Jonathan: Yeah, right. I was playing once with some. Someone like

at 8 00:40:44

that, and, um, I remember it was a

at 8 00:40:46

fly. Do you guys see that fly? That fucking.

at 8 00:40:50

It was buzzing around. I should have backed off. I should have backed off,

at 8 00:40:53

right?

at 8 00:40:53

>> Speaker D: But, yeah, there's never any accountability

at 8 00:40:56

ever.

at 8 00:40:57

>> Speaker A: Yeah. This is the one game you cannot hide from, right?

at 8 00:40:59

You can. There's no. Nobody you can pass the ball to and say he missed the shot.

at 8 00:41:02

There's no. I mean, it's all on you, right? That's the best part about it. But these could.

at 8 00:41:05

Obviously there's a fly, you know, too.

at 8 00:41:06

>> Speaker D: But they kind of go back to the Trump

at 8 00:41:09

thing. I really. Kudos. To Trump,

at 8 00:41:12

because for a guy who's so

at 8 00:41:14

widely criticized and it's so

at 8 00:41:17

easy for the other side to hate on him. Like, he's

at 8 00:41:20

actually a good golfer. Like, I. I played

at 8 00:41:23

with him, right? And I was impressed with his

at 8 00:41:26

ball striking. Like, I know, uh, Pepe

at 8 00:41:29

was asking about his, um, short game and putting, and

at 8 00:41:32

that's something that I gave him a little tip on

at 8 00:41:34

midway through the round. If you watch his golf

at 8 00:41:37

swing, right, He's. He's a rounder individual. I don't know

at 8 00:41:40

if it's ozempic or what that fluctuates. But his

at 8 00:41:43

golf swing, he takes it inside,

at 8 00:41:46

and his short game is very similar. He whips

at 8 00:41:49

the wedge inside early, and he comes

at 8 00:41:52

in shallow and from the inside. And so

at 8 00:41:55

he struggles on that Florida Bermuda

at 8 00:41:58

with catching it, you know, heavy or riding up

at 8 00:42:01

the face. So I gave him a tip on how to be steeper

at 8 00:42:04

and more on plane. And the first chip he tried from

at 8 00:42:07

30ft, he made it. And he looked at me like,

at 8 00:42:10

you're my. You're my dude. And that was a really

at 8 00:42:12

cool moment for me, I think. Kind of like you were talking about with the

at 8 00:42:15

scorecard being a really memorable, uh,

at 8 00:42:18

piece like him chipping in after I helped him with it with

at 8 00:42:21

it was one of the coolest things I've, uh, I've

at 8 00:42:24

seen.

at 8 00:42:24

>> RB: That sucks. You lost that scorecard. I would have reached out to people and

at 8 00:42:27

be like, hey, I'm gonna send you a scorecard. I'm gonna fill it out. Can you have them

at 8 00:42:30

sign it again?

at 8 00:42:31

>> Speaker D: And, you know, I really went through a dark time,

at 8 00:42:34

Pepe, uh, for that. And so I, I. You know, for you to

at 8 00:42:37

bring it up like that right now is still too soon. But I

at 8 00:42:40

get what you're getting at.

at 8 00:42:41

>> RB: Yeah.

at 8 00:42:44

>> Speaker A: Boys, going on that. That humbling, not, uh, to

at 8 00:42:47

ramble on a story and say, let's go. I told Pep about a

at 8 00:42:50

story. Story, uh, back in the day, of me caddy and for Michael

at 8 00:42:53

Jordan. So, uh, the goat. Yeah,

at 8 00:42:56

so. So just maybe that's why I'm getting confused.

at 8 00:42:58

>> RB: So I apologize. I insulted you. I'm wrong.

at 8 00:43:01

I'm sorry. All right.

at 8 00:43:02

>> Speaker A: Hey, look at that. What a man.

at 8 00:43:03

>> Speaker D: Mistakes haven't worked in we're human.

at 8 00:43:06

>> Speaker A: So this is back, boys. This is back, like, 2003,

at 8 00:43:09

right? I had been, like, the longest tenured caddy at this really

at 8 00:43:12

great club in St. Louis called Old Warston Country

at 8 00:43:15

Club. I, uh, actually hosted the 71 Ryder Cup.

at 8 00:43:18

It's iconic. It's a Robert Trent Jones. Uh,

at 8 00:43:21

but anyways, like, I've been The longest tenured caddy, uh, at the

at 8 00:43:24

club. I've been there since I was 11 years old. My parents, which is probably

at 8 00:43:27

illegal, dropped me off with my brother when I was a little

at 8 00:43:29

kid. Did my time, did my, like 10, 11

at 8 00:43:32

years. And now it's 2003.

at 8 00:43:35

And we all know, everyone at the club knows Michael Jordan's

at 8 00:43:38

coming on Saturday because he had been in town for some, like, his, you know,

at 8 00:43:40

AAU basketball tournament for his son.

at 8 00:43:43

And, um, we know Michael Jordan to be there on Saturday.

at 8 00:43:46

And I'm on the bag, I get my name on the loop. Like, you're the guy

at 8 00:43:49

going with them. Figure it out. But as we all

at 8 00:43:52

know, boys, we've all played with celebrities, solely played

at 8 00:43:55

pro ams, all this stuff. Like, you get down to the first,

at 8 00:43:58

you know, to the driving range area, and in the green, you're trying

at 8 00:44:01

to, like, you know, you're trying to meet everybody. And people

at 8 00:44:04

are jockeying all over. Caddies are kind of jumping in like, hey, man, let me go

at 8 00:44:07

with you. Let me, let me be in the group also. I'm like, hey, boys,

at 8 00:44:10

like, stay the away. Like, this is my day. I've done my

at 8 00:44:13

time. You've been here, you've been here for a minute.

at 8 00:44:14

>> Speaker D: My moment.

at 8 00:44:16

>> Speaker A: Yeah, so. So anyways, like, shit's going on, you know, Guys are trying to get

at 8 00:44:19

their games ready. He's got like, Charles Oakley there. He's got like some

at 8 00:44:22

St. Louis guys, Ozzy Smith, they're all in this, like, group of like

at 8 00:44:25

16 guys are gonna go play. So finally

at 8 00:44:28

we get to the first tee. It's me and my buddy Austin gets in the group,

at 8 00:44:30

right? And so, like, I'm gonna, I'm gonna ride. We're

at 8 00:44:33

around the back of the carts, just do a little four caddy job, give them

at 8 00:44:36

distances, do all that, read their greens, break their bunkers,

at 8 00:44:39

right? So get out there. MJ's pretty

at 8 00:44:42

cool. He's got these like, you can imagine, like

at 8 00:44:44

2003 style. He's got this like, black mock turtleneck with like

at 8 00:44:47

these like, mustard yellow pants on six foot six

at 8 00:44:50

dude. And we're going around, we get, we

at 8 00:44:53

get, you know, it's kind of like whatever, feeling everybody out. They got their games

at 8 00:44:56

going, thousand a hole, whatever it is. We get to the fifth

at 8 00:44:59

hole and, uh, at old worst, it's a beautiful hole

at 8 00:45:01

off, off a bluff. And, uh, I'm with

at 8 00:45:04

mj and uh, we're in the fairway. So this is, this is so

at 8 00:45:07

classic. So we're down the Fairway. I'm like, AMJ, it's

at 8 00:45:10

155 middle, pins back. It's a long

at 8 00:45:13

green, figure eight green. I'm like, it's 165 to the

at 8 00:45:16

back. Back pin. Um, and wins in the face. Like,

at 8 00:45:18

wind always howls here a little bit, like, you need to get back there. I'm like,

at 8 00:45:21

it's probably playing 180.

at 8 00:45:23

And he, like, he's looking in the bag. He's like, wait, what'd you say about the

at 8 00:45:25

wind? And I'm like, yeah, it's probably like a 15,

at 8 00:45:28

you know, club and a half. Wind in the face. He's like, me

at 8 00:45:31

and Tiger, he goes, wind doesn't affect our ball.

at 8 00:45:34

I'm like, I don't know if y'all have ever seen MJ M swing

at 8 00:45:37

or his golf game at all, but you talked about Berkshire hitting moon balls.

at 8 00:45:40

I mean, MJ M is super steep, and I, you know, you can

at 8 00:45:43

recognize that on the, you know, by the first swing of the day.

at 8 00:45:46

So he spin the. Out of the ball. So he's like, hey, man. He's

at 8 00:45:49

like, kyle, give me the seven. And I'm like, oh, fuck, this is going to be good.

at 8 00:45:51

Usually I would walk away and go to the other guys, but I'm like,

at 8 00:45:54

oh, this is going to be good, Mike. I'm just hoping he flushes this, right?

at 8 00:45:57

So he flushes it. Ball's going up, and it's just in the

at 8 00:46:00

air forever. I think it, like hits the front of the green,

at 8 00:46:03

like, and spins off the front by 30 yards short, right?

at 8 00:46:06

Like, he should have hit maybe a knock down five or four.

at 8 00:46:09

And I just know he likes shit talking. So

at 8 00:46:12

I hit him on the arm as I'm walking by. And I

at 8 00:46:15

said, wind doesn't affect your ball, right? And he gave me

at 8 00:46:18

that look, right? That divorce look, like, who's this motherfucker? Uh,

at 8 00:46:21

so we go

at 8 00:46:24

up, whatever, and we get to the next hole, right? And,

at 8 00:46:27

uh, kind of get to the greens or whatever.

at 8 00:46:30

And again, this is like probably Michael Jordan's Mental

at 8 00:46:32

Warfare. I don't know if it's one. He was trying to just

at 8 00:46:35

make me look like an. Because I made him look like an. Just me

at 8 00:46:38

and him. Um, but you know, he has like a 10 foot

at 8 00:46:41

putt. It's one of those putts. It's a ball out. You know, you could pit it,

at 8 00:46:44

you could hit it, right edge, firm. I'm like, mj, it's ball out. You

at 8 00:46:47

know, if you want to hit a little harder, hit it on the edge. He blasts

at 8 00:46:50

it through the break, and he's like, oh, man, Kyle can't read the greens.

at 8 00:46:53

So the rest of the round, when he missed a putt, he would yell out like, kyle can't

at 8 00:46:56

read the greens.

at 8 00:46:57

>> Speaker D: Kyle can't read the greens.

at 8 00:46:58

>> Speaker A: So I don't know if it was mental warfare of like one, he wanted to

at 8 00:47:01

embarrass me or number two, he was also like, I

at 8 00:47:04

got money games with all these guys and if they hear me

at 8 00:47:06

saying Kyle can't read the greens, they're not going to want to read from him

at 8 00:47:09

and they're not going to trust what he says. So that's just like total

at 8 00:47:12

mj. We've all seen obviously like the last dance. He uh,

at 8 00:47:15

loves shit talking and obviously he'll get back at you

at 8 00:47:18

too. So it was a fucking classic day though.

at 8 00:47:20

>> Jonathan: Yeah. I mean, the guy probably definitely knows how to win the mental

at 8 00:47:23

battles, right?

at 8 00:47:24

>> Speaker A: For sure. And it's just so funny because like, you know, 03, like Tiger

at 8 00:47:27

was on top of the fucking world, right? I mean, nothing did affect

at 8 00:47:30

Tigers golf ball in that in those years. But, but

at 8 00:47:33

mj, like, you're, you're the goat of

at 8 00:47:36

the basketball court. But like, bro, like you're about a, uh, four or

at 8 00:47:39

five. Like, yeah, you're spinning like the

at 8 00:47:42

ball, the wind will affect your ball. It was just classic, dude. It was such a, it's

at 8 00:47:45

such a cool day.

at 8 00:47:46

>> Jonathan: I love it, man. We saw him, man. He was, he played behind

at 8 00:47:49

Pep and I when we were down at Grove. Him and Dwight

at 8 00:47:52

Freey and a couple other cats. That's sick in

at 8 00:47:55

his entourage.

at 8 00:47:56

>> RB: But we're, we're at Grove

at 8 00:47:58

having lunch and I said, bash, I got

at 8 00:48:01

it. I gotta get the restroom. So I'm staying in the restroom. I'm standing

at 8 00:48:04

there and you just feel like, you feel like

at 8 00:48:07

a ghost is coming in. You just felt it.

at 8 00:48:10

>> Speaker A: Isn't that crazy?

at 8 00:48:11

>> RB: And he comes in, bucket hat, cigar in his

at 8 00:48:14

mouth. He's like, what's up, big guy?

at 8 00:48:17

As I'm holding my.

at 8 00:48:20

I look over him, I said, oh, nothing. How about you?

at 8 00:48:24

I'm like, that's what you

at 8 00:48:27

today? Like, so that's what you

at 8 00:48:30

said. So he went in the stall,

at 8 00:48:33

closed the door. Naturally I popped my head under the stall. I'm

at 8 00:48:35

like,

at 8 00:48:38

camera. Hey man, let's try that again.

at 8 00:48:43

I mean, you talk about a guy like

at 8 00:48:46

he doesn't even have to be that good at golf. That's the thing that people

at 8 00:48:48

don't understand. It's his presence and the amount of

at 8 00:48:51

money that he will play for. Um,

at 8 00:48:55

and, and you know, I think people

at 8 00:48:58

too don't recognize he's not Going to play golf for fun. Like, he's got

at 8 00:49:01

to play for something. I had another buddy that played with him at Grove,

at 8 00:49:03

and he took MJ for 200 bucks,

at 8 00:49:06

and he said, when we're done drinking this

at 8 00:49:08

tequila, we can square up. Basically, he's saying, listen,

at 8 00:49:12

I'm gonna drink you so hard

at 8 00:49:14

that you're gonna forget that I owe you money. And my buddy said, I just

at 8 00:49:17

kept drinking and sitting there, saying to myself, I'm not drunk. I'm

at 8 00:49:20

not drunk, and got to it. And he's like, here's your 200

at 8 00:49:23

bucks. After they finished a bottle of tequila sinkora.

at 8 00:49:26

>> Speaker A: Oh, that's great.

at 8 00:49:26

>> Speaker D: Well, let me. Let me ask you guys, what did you think of

at 8 00:49:29

Grove? Because right after I played with President

at 8 00:49:32

Trump, I actually got to play Grove,

at 8 00:49:35

uh, the next week. And I think it's a good spot,

at 8 00:49:38

and the amenities are top shelf.

at 8 00:49:40

>> RB: I. I think I. I agree. Yeah. I would agree with everything.

at 8 00:49:43

You said that, like, the. There's

at 8 00:49:46

some holes that I think. Obviously, I think they're blowing it up

at 8 00:49:49

in March and they're redoing it, from what I've heard.

at 8 00:49:52

Um, but, I mean, did you look at, like,

at 8 00:49:55

15, 16, 17, 18. They call it

at 8 00:49:58

Jordan Alley for a reason, right? Like 15,

at 8 00:50:01

par, uh, 3, 150. The middle of the green,

at 8 00:50:03

16s. 280 to the middle of green, par, par 4.

at 8 00:50:06

17's a driver. 5 iron, 6 iron, par

at 8 00:50:09

5 and 18 is 495. Dead nuts into

at 8 00:50:12

the wind, par 4. So it's like, as

at 8 00:50:15

a gambling course, it's.

at 8 00:50:18

It's set up for Jordan. It is a thousand percent.

at 8 00:50:21

But as far as the amenities are concerned and everything else, dude,

at 8 00:50:24

15 out of 10. Like, 15 out of 10. Take the

at 8 00:50:27

golf carts. You literally take the golf cart in the

at 8 00:50:30

fringe. You. You. They go 30 miles an hour. The

at 8 00:50:33

pro shop, sick. The food's very good.

at 8 00:50:35

>> Speaker D: The clubhouse facilities,

at 8 00:50:38

unbelievable.

at 8 00:50:39

>> Jonathan: Oh, yeah.

at 8 00:50:40

>> Speaker D: That's why we pulled up the first day.

at 8 00:50:43

>> RB: All those guys. And we pull up the first day.

at 8 00:50:46

Uh, what kind of balls you use title?

at 8 00:50:49

>> Speaker A: Yeah.

at 8 00:50:49

>> RB: Well, probably one or probably one X. Probably one. All right, here's your

at 8 00:50:52

bag of balls. And it's just like, that touch

at 8 00:50:55

to an experience is incredible.

at 8 00:50:58

>> Jonathan: Yeah. And I. Everything he said. I

at 8 00:51:00

mean, he kind of just answered the question by himself there.

at 8 00:51:03

So we'll let him slide on that.

at 8 00:51:05

>> RB: And not to mention who you see and who's

at 8 00:51:07

there, which he loves.

at 8 00:51:09

>> Speaker A: That's so cool.

at 8 00:51:09

>> Jonathan: But I was a little under. I thought the pro

at 8 00:51:12

shop was really good, but this shoe thing kind of got me Thrown off.

at 8 00:51:15

Probably because I was thinking about it as like,

at 8 00:51:18

it's gonna have a wall.

at 8 00:51:19

>> Speaker D: Of just like his closet type stuff.

at 8 00:51:22

>> Jonathan: Yeah. And you're just gonna be able to see shoes that you can't see

at 8 00:51:25

anywhere else or whatever, you know. And, uh, that wasn't the

at 8 00:51:28

case. But I mean, yeah,

at 8 00:51:31

because you hear guys talk and they're like, yeah, you know, it's,

at 8 00:51:34

it's whatever, it's blah, blah, blah. But no, it's not

at 8 00:51:37

just whatever. It's. It's a phenomenal. Like if someone

at 8 00:51:39

invites me back because that's the only way I'm getting on

at 8 00:51:42

again, I mean, my answer is going to be,

at 8 00:51:44

uh, when? Yes.

at 8 00:51:46

>> Speaker D: Yeah. And the vibe is not stuffy at all.

at 8 00:51:49

You know, like you get the amenities and

at 8 00:51:52

everything that you would get at another top shelf

at 8 00:51:55

facility, but you don't have that walking on

at 8 00:51:57

eggshells feel.

at 8 00:51:59

>> Jonathan: How do you two handle stuffiness at clubs?

at 8 00:52:03

>> Speaker A: I mean, I, I deal with every day because I have to go into

at 8 00:52:06

some of these clubs for, for work, obviously. Um,

at 8 00:52:09

I'm way more of a vibe like you guys are talking about Whisper Rock,

at 8 00:52:11

for example, out in Scottsdale. I mean, what a hang that place is. It's

at 8 00:52:14

just like so chill, untucked polos, just like,

at 8 00:52:17

you know, you got tour pros hitting, you're hitting next to freaking whoever. Right.

at 8 00:52:20

I mean, I like vibes like that personally. I deal

at 8 00:52:23

with the stuffy clubs. You just kind of have to. But, um, I

at 8 00:52:26

way more prefer like the modern, like these new clubs like

at 8 00:52:29

you guys are talking about, like Grove and Whisper Rock, places like

at 8 00:52:32

that personally. And

at 8 00:52:35

I'm sure it's always the same, I assume.

at 8 00:52:37

>> Speaker D: Yeah, I, I got, I uh, got

at 8 00:52:39

fortunate this year to go out to Discovery

at 8 00:52:42

Properties a little bit where Melman,

at 8 00:52:45

um, owns those. And like, they've got

at 8 00:52:48

the one at Gazer Ranch in Idaho,

at 8 00:52:51

Coeur d'alene. And then there's one I went to

at 8 00:52:53

in the Dominican Republic called Playa Grande where

at 8 00:52:56

Ricky Fowler has a house. And I seriously

at 8 00:52:59

think that blew pebble beach out of the water. I

at 8 00:53:02

mean that place was phenomenal. I was

at 8 00:53:05

really surprised on the northern coast of the Dr.

at 8 00:53:08

Um, I had no idea that there was a place that

at 8 00:53:11

existed like that in the Dominican.

at 8 00:53:13

>> Jonathan: I think Discovery Properties are setting the new

at 8 00:53:16

standard. I mean, 100.

at 8 00:53:18

The, the vibe that it brings, the

at 8 00:53:21

plushness. I mean you look at these comfort stations,

at 8 00:53:23

dude, you could pull a stool

at 8 00:53:26

up and just chill there all day.

at 8 00:53:29

>> Speaker D: I literally, I literally bumped

at 8 00:53:32

into Kim Kardashian at the one in Gaza Ranch.

at 8 00:53:35

Like I turned around and her and her daughter

at 8 00:53:37

Northwest were right there. And I was like, you know, you never know

at 8 00:53:40

you're gonna meet at the Discovery Project. And they went back to

at 8 00:53:43

their cybertruck. They were like raiding Ramsack in

at 8 00:53:46

that comfort station and then taking off. You

at 8 00:53:49

know, it's just cool because I thought that you were talking

at 8 00:53:52

about there's so

at 8 00:53:55

many, uh, A listers and former,

at 8 00:53:57

uh, pro athletes and country musicians that are

at 8 00:54:00

hanging out at the quarter lane one that it really wasn't that

at 8 00:54:03

stuffy because everybody kind of feels like, hey, like, you've already

at 8 00:54:06

made it if you're out here. So there's no need to like, one up

at 8 00:54:09

anybody, you know, I, I,

at 8 00:54:12

um.

at 8 00:54:14

>> RB: I was a troubadour about a year and a half

at 8 00:54:17

ago, warming up on the range with

at 8 00:54:19

Thomas Archer and Ray Fulcher, who are big

at 8 00:54:22

songwriters and, and uh, my backs to where

at 8 00:54:25

people are coming on is a Tuesday afternoon, 4:00, we're gonna tee

at 8 00:54:27

off and. And I hear this guy, yo, yo, Ray. Ray.

at 8 00:54:30

I'm like, that name that sounds familiar, that voice.

at 8 00:54:33

And here it was Wallen. And I'm like,

at 8 00:54:36

oh, shit. Like, I don't get.

at 8 00:54:39

I don't get shocked by anybody, but like, yes, you do

at 8 00:54:42

right now. So,

at 8 00:54:45

you know, he's talking to Ray and he's like, you want to

at 8 00:54:48

play a little action today? And Ray's like, pep. What do you think? I said, I'll take

at 8 00:54:51

it. Whatever you want. So they go off, we get to

at 8 00:54:54

14, and they're at the comfort station of Troubadour, him

at 8 00:54:57

and his buddies. Actually, you might know Will Sellers.

at 8 00:55:02

>> Speaker D: Name sounds familiar. Okay.

at 8 00:55:04

>> RB: With J.T. uh, um, they're all playing,

at 8 00:55:07

so we all joined up. Dude, we played till

at 8 00:55:10

9pm and then we drank till 1am with this dude. And he

at 8 00:55:13

couldn't have been any cooler and, and nicer to

at 8 00:55:16

everyone, which obviously when you're

at 8 00:55:19

in a golf club where there's nobody at, they're going to be themselves,

at 8 00:55:22

right? So we absolutely tied one

at 8 00:55:25

on that night. It was.

at 8 00:55:27

>> Speaker A: I got. I got a buddy who's a member at Troubadour, and he said, sit.

at 8 00:55:30

Kind of along those lines. He said he had a club, um,

at 8 00:55:33

championship match against like one of the country stars. I don't know if it was,

at 8 00:55:36

if it was, uh, Morgan Wallen or

at 8 00:55:39

who, but he said he showed up, uh, you know, he's like buttoned up. He's

at 8 00:55:42

kind of a new member at the time he button. He's wearing his polo and tucked into his

at 8 00:55:45

shorts. Whatever he said. Homeboy pulls up with his,

at 8 00:55:48

like, golden retriever. He's wearing, like, his high school basketball

at 8 00:55:50

jersey and basketball shorts, and they go out. He's like, hey, let's have a match. I'm like,

at 8 00:55:53

holy. That's, like, what a vibe that is, right? Like,

at 8 00:55:56

just. Just do whatever you want. Have your dog running around.

at 8 00:55:59

>> RB: I mean, Wallen had this speaker that was as big as

at 8 00:56:02

a golf cart. It was in the back, and this music was

at 8 00:56:04

so loud, I don't even know how he sat in the cart. And it was

at 8 00:56:07

just rap the whole way around blaring. And

at 8 00:56:10

like you said, it's just, do what you want, right? Just respect the golf course

at 8 00:56:13

and do.

at 8 00:56:14

>> Speaker A: What you want, right?

at 8 00:56:15

>> Speaker D: There was actually a guy in the Dominican whose job

at 8 00:56:18

is director of Vibes. Super cool

at 8 00:56:21

guy. And he had the same setup you were

at 8 00:56:24

describing, uh, Morgan Wallen having with the speaker in

at 8 00:56:27

the car, and he had, like, the Dominican flags hanging out the back. And

at 8 00:56:30

so, like, if he knew. Knew, uh, we all were coming out there and we

at 8 00:56:33

were big country fans, he would have, like, country

at 8 00:56:35

music blaring from three fairways away.

at 8 00:56:38

Like, they just do that little attention to detail,

at 8 00:56:41

uh, really well, and make, uh, sure that everyone out

at 8 00:56:44

there feels like, you know, they're being tailored

at 8 00:56:47

to.

at 8 00:56:48

>> Jonathan: Yeah, it's smart. It's

at 8 00:56:50

definitely a vibe, man. And, yeah,

at 8 00:56:53

that's. That's my feeling, too. I mean, I can't

at 8 00:56:56

deal with the stuffiness because I don't like the egotisticalness

at 8 00:56:59

that comes with it. You know what I mean? I'm,

at 8 00:57:01

um. Yeah, I just want to play golf. At

at 8 00:57:04

the end of the day, I'll play golf. I want to have a good time. You know, I

at 8 00:57:07

definitely respect the course, certainly like playing

at 8 00:57:09

nice courses, but, uh, really, I don't really have.

at 8 00:57:13

I don't care. You know, a lot of these

at 8 00:57:16

clubs.

at 8 00:57:16

>> Speaker D: They'Re, like, one rule that they'll have is don't be

at 8 00:57:19

an. Right? Like, as long as you're not an. You're

at 8 00:57:22

not gonna get kicked out. Like, that's the only rule. Just respect the

at 8 00:57:25

course, Be. Be chill, and

at 8 00:57:28

you'll. You'll fit in fine. That's how it is at Old

at 8 00:57:31

Mo in Tampa.

at 8 00:57:32

>> RB: I love Old Mo.

at 8 00:57:33

>> Jonathan: It's a great course, great

at 8 00:57:36

track.

at 8 00:57:36

What about a Midwest cow? Where. Where you. What do you

at 8 00:57:39

oversee?

at 8 00:57:40

>> Speaker A: So I oversee, uh, just kind of across Missouri, Illinois.

at 8 00:57:43

Nothing. Nothing too crazy here. I've got some top

at 8 00:57:46

100 courses, but nothing like, y'all have kind of out.

at 8 00:57:49

Out north, you know, in the north, uh, east and down south

at 8 00:57:52

and. And all that, but no there's some good tracks here, for sure.

at 8 00:57:55

It's just, uh. It's so. It's so humid and hot here that

at 8 00:57:58

you just can't get golf courses maybe the way they should be.

at 8 00:58:01

Like, I know. You know, with peering. Some of those guys. We always talk

at 8 00:58:04

about golf up in Pittsburgh. I think that's like, the perfect climate.

at 8 00:58:07

Like Michigan when I live there. Some of the best golf courses ever, because you

at 8 00:58:10

could always get those courses. They were always pure with bent grass.

at 8 00:58:13

You could always get greens rolling quick. Little different here

at 8 00:58:15

across the Midwest because we get so hot and humid that it's like

at 8 00:58:18

there's a month window where they can kind of like, really

at 8 00:58:21

get them down and fast. Um, but. But,

at 8 00:58:24

uh, no, it's. It's. I'm in a good spot for sure. It's just,

at 8 00:58:27

uh. I don't have all the. Some of the clout clubs, uh,

at 8 00:58:30

that y'all are talking about.

at 8 00:58:31

>> Jonathan: Really. I got a buddy up at Rich Harvest Farms. How's that

at 8 00:58:34

place?

at 8 00:58:35

>> Speaker A: So I've not been up there yet.

at 8 00:58:37

>> Jonathan: I hear not, but freaking awesome from multiple people.

at 8 00:58:40

>> Speaker A: Yeah, there's some. I mean, there's some great golf across that. Like

at 8 00:58:43

that north part of the Midwest. I mean, you can. Wisconsin,

at 8 00:58:46

even, like, over into Nebraska, Minnesota. There's just. It's just.

at 8 00:58:48

It's plush up there, man.

at 8 00:58:50

>> Jonathan: We had Danny Woodhead on the podcast a while back,

at 8 00:58:53

and he's out in Nebraska, like, in the m. Middle of

at 8 00:58:56

nowhere.

at 8 00:58:56

>> RB: Yeah, but when I start, Nebraska's in the middle. Nowhere.

at 8 00:58:59

>> Jonathan: It is, but when you start peeling back the layers a little bit, you realize that,

at 8 00:59:02

like, there's some deep. Like, what is it? Is

at 8 00:59:05

it Bismol or,

at 8 00:59:06

um, Bismarck?

at 8 00:59:09

No, it's. It's something like that where you gotta take a helicopter

at 8 00:59:12

to get to it. I don't

at 8 00:59:15

know.

at 8 00:59:15

>> RB: Sandhills up there, isn't it?

at 8 00:59:17

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

at 8 00:59:19

Um. I forget the name of it. I want to say

at 8 00:59:22

Dismal or Bismore, something like

at 8 00:59:25

that. Well, it doesn't matter, obviously, because no one knows of it,

at 8 00:59:28

but I actually.

at 8 00:59:30

>> Speaker D: Played a golf course this summer in

at 8 00:59:32

Iowa called the Harvester. And

at 8 00:59:35

if, um, Butler national and

at 8 00:59:38

Oakmont had a baby, that would be this golf

at 8 00:59:41

course. It's the love child of the two. It was

at 8 00:59:43

incredible.

at 8 00:59:44

>> RB: Butler National. So hard.

at 8 00:59:47

>> Speaker A: Yeah, it's very hard. So.

at 8 00:59:49

Wish they had a better logo, but that. That golf course is

at 8 00:59:52

amazing.

at 8 00:59:53

>> Speaker D: Yeah.

at 8 00:59:55

>> Jonathan: One thing to pivot off of this golf talk real quick is

at 8 00:59:58

the fact that, um, coming

at 8 01:00:01

into this football playoff season with

at 8 01:00:04

college, it's. It's shaping to be a pretty

at 8 01:00:06

Exciting, you, uh, know, weekend. I mean, you got some games

at 8 01:00:09

going off, you got, got this new structure in place. I think

at 8 01:00:12

it's great for the game.

at 8 01:00:15

>> Speaker A: It's crazy. It's crazy too, that, uh, I mean, we've gone

at 8 01:00:17

so long seeing, you know, teams going undefeated

at 8 01:00:20

or you can only have one loss this year. I don't know if it's like

at 8 01:00:23

the, the parody just because of like the transfer portal and

at 8 01:00:26

stuff, but it's crazy to see, you know, Alabama, Georgia, these guys

at 8 01:00:29

losing two, three games. It's just, it's so out of the norm.

at 8 01:00:32

Uh, but it's fun because I feel like it needs to be more like that. Right. It's always

at 8 01:00:35

been the same three, four teams every year, and they're always arguing

at 8 01:00:38

who's going to get in and all that kind of stuff. So. So I'm excited for,

at 8 01:00:41

for this little playoff. I think it's gonna be fun.

at 8 01:00:43

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

at 8 01:00:43

>> Speaker D: Yeah. Unlike the PGA Tour, it seems like they're trying to

at 8 01:00:46

grow the game of football for college. So that's pretty cool.

at 8 01:00:49

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

at 8 01:00:49

>> RB: There's no gambling, though.

at 8 01:00:53

>> Speaker A: Sure about that?

at 8 01:00:56

>> Jonathan: What, what would football be without gambling? I

at 8 01:00:59

mean, really?

at 8 01:01:00

>> RB: I just don't like how, uh, uh, every pregame show is

at 8 01:01:03

brought to you by bet us or DraftKings. Uh,

at 8 01:01:06

yet if you gamble on your team,

at 8 01:01:10

you're splendid.

at 8 01:01:12

>> Jonathan: I get a kick out of the guys that are giving

at 8 01:01:14

your their pick of the day before the game goes off. You know,

at 8 01:01:17

like these analysts.

at 8 01:01:18

>> Speaker D: Right.

at 8 01:01:19

>> Jonathan: My pickup today is, is this guy over

at 8 01:01:21

75 and a half yards. And here's why.

at 8 01:01:25

I would love to see what their percentage is on hitting that

at 8 01:01:28

shit and versus not.

at 8 01:01:29

>> Speaker A: Because that's always what's so funny about like, the sports

at 8 01:01:32

media that like, you know, you can make, you can be

at 8 01:01:35

Colin Cowherd or whoever and make these loud

at 8 01:01:37

statements about, oh, uh, this, that, uh, and the other and just be so loud.

at 8 01:01:40

>> Speaker D: Annoying.

at 8 01:01:40

>> Speaker A: But those guys are, they're never held accountable, right? You can say

at 8 01:01:43

whatever you want.

at 8 01:01:44

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

at 8 01:01:44

>> Speaker A: You can be as loud as you want. You. You don't know if the Chiefs are going

at 8 01:01:47

to win at all this year, but you can just go out and say all that. And it's just

at 8 01:01:50

kind of funny because they're never, ever held accountable for what they say.

at 8 01:01:53

Right? Like, they never go back and say, you were wrong

at 8 01:01:56

about this or that. You know, it's so funny.

at 8 01:01:58

>> Jonathan: I was sweating for the guy.

at 8 01:02:00

>> RB: My wife she lets me know, but.

at 8 01:02:03

>> Jonathan: I was sweating for the cat that dumped 3 million on the

at 8 01:02:06

Eagles when they played, uh, Carolina.

at 8 01:02:09

>> Speaker D: Did he win that dude, he should.

at 8 01:02:11

>> Speaker A: Have lost that guy. That. That Leggette kid dropped a wide

at 8 01:02:14

open touchdown with, like, 10 seconds to go. He literally had no

at 8 01:02:17

one around him and just dropped it. It's almost like, was that fixed?

at 8 01:02:20

You always wonder. Sometimes I'm like, is this fixed? Like, I know these

at 8 01:02:23

referees. Sometimes it feels like the wwf, where you're just like,

at 8 01:02:26

you can't make this shit up, right? And I get it. It's like great

at 8 01:02:29

tv, right? When the Chiefs are winning every game by a

at 8 01:02:31

phantom call or doinking. Winning off the upright,

at 8 01:02:35

sometimes you're just like, how the hell does this happen?

at 8 01:02:37

>> Jonathan: I know, I know. It's. It's crazy,

at 8 01:02:40

but insane. That's what the. That's the world we live in,

at 8 01:02:43

and that's what it is. Especially if you have vested interests. You

at 8 01:02:46

got to live and die by the cause, the. And whatnot.

at 8 01:02:48

But. Right.

at 8 01:02:50

>> Speaker A: Are, ah, we gonna ever land this plane on the PGA Tour stuff? Sully, do you

at 8 01:02:53

have any intel on this? I mean, I got. I got a buddy who works down at the Tour, and

at 8 01:02:55

I'm just like. I always ask him, like, are they gonna, like, land this plane with

at 8 01:02:58

the live stuff with the going on? Like, it's just

at 8 01:03:01

like.

at 8 01:03:02

>> Jonathan: I don't know.

at 8 01:03:02

>> Speaker A: It just seems so. Just still just in. In just

at 8 01:03:05

like random flux, you know.

at 8 01:03:06

>> Speaker D: Just in constant litigation and not, uh, being

at 8 01:03:09

able to. I think. I think the thing with that

at 8 01:03:12

is Gary, uh, player,

at 8 01:03:15

uh, was talking about it and that, uh, in his opinion, that

at 8 01:03:18

PGA Tour dropped the ball early on by pushing back

at 8 01:03:21

so hard because if they had a play ball with

at 8 01:03:24

them a little bit, it would have made things way

at 8 01:03:27

smoother, right? So now you gotta. You got

at 8 01:03:30

a entity like the Live, the Saudis, Piff

at 8 01:03:33

or whatever it is that have way more money,

at 8 01:03:36

and in the end, they're probably gonna win.

at 8 01:03:38

You know, it's like the bigger fish is

at 8 01:03:41

gonna survive that financial, um,

at 8 01:03:44

battle. So who knows? But,

at 8 01:03:47

um. And I think the big thing here

at 8 01:03:50

is the spectators want to see the best

at 8 01:03:53

players play against each other on the same stage. And it's

at 8 01:03:56

unfortunate that Scottie, uh, Scheffler

at 8 01:03:59

and, you know, the Jon Rams are not squaring up

at 8 01:04:01

while they're both in their prime. And it

at 8 01:04:04

just hurts the. You know, it seems like the

at 8 01:04:07

overall mood right now from a

at 8 01:04:10

viewership standpoint is it's not as exciting

at 8 01:04:13

as it has been in the past. And that's un.

at 8 01:04:15

Unfortunate.

at 8 01:04:16

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

at 8 01:04:16

>> RB: Yeah, for sure. So

at 8 01:04:19

maybe next time we get on here, we'll have a little answer to that.

at 8 01:04:22

>> Speaker D: Yeah, maybe if you see Me next time with a

at 8 01:04:25

turban on and Titleist logo on the side.

at 8 01:04:28

That tells you everything you need to know.

at 8 01:04:37

>> RB: I love it.

at 8 01:04:39

>> Jonathan: Well, boys, it was a blast, man. Um,

at 8 01:04:42

I know we're kind of close here on the time, but,

at 8 01:04:44

uh, you know, glad we were able to rekindle our

at 8 01:04:47

relationship. Our long lost relationship.

at 8 01:04:49

>> Speaker A: Long and lost. Yep.

at 8 01:04:50

>> Jonathan: You know, kind of just yuck it up here a little bit. It was fun.

at 8 01:04:53

>> RB: I love it.

at 8 01:04:54

>> Speaker D: Absolutely.

at 8 01:04:55

>> RB: We gotta do it again.

at 8 01:04:56

>> Speaker D: Yeah, left off for sure.

at 8 01:04:58

>> Speaker A: And I hope to see you boys out in Oregon. I'll see Sully before that, but I hope to see you

at 8 01:05:01

boys out in Oregon. Maybe. I mean, I might have. Might or might have not have gotten

at 8 01:05:04

an invite. I know Bash didn't know this, but I may or

at 8 01:05:07

may not have gotten.

at 8 01:05:08

>> RB: This is. Now I know it's

at 8 01:05:11

gonna be like. This is awkward.

at 8 01:05:12

>> Jonathan: Well, I was supposed to have lunch with Steve, actually, you know, he

at 8 01:05:15

said it, and then he. He canceled.

at 8 01:05:17

But that's to be expected in some case. I

at 8 01:05:20

understand he's a busy guy, so that's not a knock, but, you

at 8 01:05:23

know, the chance of that happening was probably.

at 8 01:05:25

>> RB: Under shirts with

at 8 01:05:28

tunas and. And a clown. A clown riding a

at 8 01:05:31

tuna on a shirt.

at 8 01:05:33

>> Jonathan: But we'll have that discussion.

at 8 01:05:35

>> Speaker D: Do you guys make it to the PC PGA show, uh, at

at 8 01:05:38

all or down in Orlando? Not really.

at 8 01:05:42

>> Speaker A: I'll see you down there, silly.

at 8 01:05:43

>> Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, I know Kyle does. That's. That's. Maybe we can shut down.

at 8 01:05:46

>> Speaker A: I can shut down that little, uh. That little dance place we went to

at 8 01:05:49

last year like we did.

at 8 01:05:52

>> Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

at 8 01:05:54

Establishment.

at 8 01:05:55

>> Speaker A: Oh, it was.

at 8 01:05:57

>> RB: All right, boys. Well, with further ado,

at 8 01:05:59

we'll. We'll catch you on the flip side.

at 8 01:06:02

>> Speaker A: All right, uh, boys, good to see you guys.

at 8 01:06:03

>> Speaker D: Thanks for having us. Yeah, always.

at 8 01:06:04

>> Jonathan: Good.

at 8 01:06:09

>> RB: Boys. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for coming on,

at 8 01:06:12

telling some stories. I love the Donald Trump story

at 8 01:06:15

because DJT saw him

at 8 01:06:18

hitting some balls on the range and said, that's my guy. And he

at 8 01:06:21

ratted off seven birdies and, like, 11

at 8 01:06:24

holes.

at 8 01:06:24

>> Jonathan: A little nervy there, but, yeah, he was.

at 8 01:06:26

>> RB: Man, to lose that scorecard.

at 8 01:06:28

>> Jonathan: I know that's, like, the most.

at 8 01:06:30

>> RB: We're gonna post that so that everybody can see it because he only has a photo

at 8 01:06:33

of it. But to lose that scorecard. And the

at 8 01:06:35

best part of that story is it was a year and

at 8 01:06:38

a half ago, and he put 45 and 47.

at 8 01:06:41

He knew.

at 8 01:06:42

>> Jonathan: Yeah, it's wild,

at 8 01:06:45

but, yeah, that. That's, you know, kind of

at 8 01:06:48

getting back to what you said there in the beginning, you know, you listen

at 8 01:06:51

to somebody who actually has the game and the capabilities to take it

at 8 01:06:54

to that level, man. And, uh, it just shows you how tough

at 8 01:06:57

it is. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the

at 8 01:07:00

game, people. So as amateur golfers, we need to

at 8 01:07:02

embrace it and. And keep chasing. That's all. That's what we're

at 8 01:07:05

doing. Yeah. Every day. Chase every day.

at 8 01:07:08

>> RB: And I'll tell you, what I've been chasing, um, bud,

at 8 01:07:11

is the steak

at 8 01:07:13

pizziola that you've put me on.

at 8 01:07:16

>> Jonathan: Oh, God.

at 8 01:07:16

>> RB: Up at Neme. So make sure you go on to

at 8 01:07:18

nemecullon.com. check it out. The new restaurant,

at 8 01:07:21

Gusto, uh, which we had our little

at 8 01:07:24

friend dinner.

at 8 01:07:25

>> Jonathan: We did?

at 8 01:07:26

>> RB: Um.

at 8 01:07:27

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

at 8 01:07:28

>> RB: Wow, Man. I ate there two nights and three out

at 8 01:07:31

of three, so, um, it's amazing. So they're doing a

at 8 01:07:34

great job. The food's amazing, man.

at 8 01:07:37

Uh, the lights. It makes you feel like you're a kid

at 8 01:07:40

again. Uh, the Hardee's Village,

at 8 01:07:42

where Santa's cruising around a little

at 8 01:07:45

bit. Um, so make sure you go to

at 8 01:07:48

nemecolin.com, check them out, book your reservation,

at 8 01:07:51

tell them the boy sent you. Uh, they might give you

at 8 01:07:54

a free bubble bath or something.

at 8 01:07:56

>> Jonathan: Um, a free

at 8 01:07:59

pillow. Yeah, dude, I agree with you. It's.

at 8 01:08:02

It's phenomenal. So it was good. It was good to hang

at 8 01:08:05

out.

at 8 01:08:05

>> RB: Simulators. Yeah.

at 8 01:08:08

>> Jonathan: How'd that go?

at 8 01:08:10

>> RB: Um, probably out of the first eight wedge shots

at 8 01:08:13

I hit, three of them were hosel rockets right up Lee Jansen's

at 8 01:08:16

ass. Um,

at 8 01:08:18

but you know what? I'm

at 8 01:08:21

excited. I'm excited.

at 8 01:08:23

>> Jonathan: I'll tell you what I'm excited about. These college football playoffs

at 8 01:08:26

that are about to kick off, boys.

at 8 01:08:27

>> RB: And, I mean, I hear this week might be.

at 8 01:08:30

>> Speaker D: Well, there's town for one.

at 8 01:08:32

>> Jonathan: Yeah, there's. There's a good possibility there that I'm, you know,

at 8 01:08:35

know, gonna be able to go catch that night. Uh, game Saturday

at 8 01:08:38

night. Uh, Ohio State. At Ohio

at 8 01:08:41

State, uh, against Tennessee. Our

at 8 01:08:43

boys. You're the boys. So, you know,

at 8 01:08:46

I'm kind of torn in between who I'm gonna actually cheer for

at 8 01:08:49

in this capacity. But, um, at the end of the day, I'll

at 8 01:08:52

probably have some sliver of red on,

at 8 01:08:55

but that doesn't mean, you know, I'm an underdog better.

at 8 01:08:58

I like betting underdogs. Tennessee's an eight and a half point underdog

at 8 01:09:01

at this juncture, at this point. Yeah. So we'll see what

at 8 01:09:03

happens. But, uh, shaping up to be a

at 8 01:09:06

nice. It's gonna be.

at 8 01:09:08

>> RB: It's gonna be insane late December

at 8 01:09:11

in Columbus, Ohio. Is it the first playoff game of

at 8 01:09:14

the whole playoffs?

at 8 01:09:15

>> Jonathan: No, because they start at noon on Saturday.

at 8 01:09:19

2 12, 3 and 8. But it's the first nightcap

at 8 01:09:21

game of the playoffs.

at 8 01:09:23

>> RB: It's gonna be, that's gonna be. It's Columbus so high

at 8 01:09:25

is be Rocket boys.

at 8 01:09:27

>> Jonathan: Yeah, yeah, it's going to be, it's going to be, it's going to be good.

at 8 01:09:29

>> RB: So what's your take on the um, the old Pittsburgh Steelers

at 8 01:09:32

this past weekend against the Eagles?

at 8 01:09:34

>> Jonathan: Not kind of what, ah, expected. What would anyone

at 8 01:09:37

expect that to be? I mean you think they're going to go in there and actually

at 8 01:09:40

surprise the world and win? I mean they had opportunity to

at 8 01:09:43

keep it close there. I mean especially before that fumble.

at 8 01:09:46

But no, I mean you have two possessions

at 8 01:09:49

the second half, your defense can't get off the field.

at 8 01:09:51

Dude.

at 8 01:09:52

>> RB: How about in the fourth quarter? 11 minute drive they had at the

at 8 01:09:54

end.

at 8 01:09:55

>> Jonathan: Tough game. There's no doubt about it. Philadelphia's

at 8 01:09:58

loaded. But you know, I certainly

at 8 01:10:00

uh, thought that there might have been a

at 8 01:10:03

closer game, but. And then this weekend they got

at 8 01:10:06

the, the Ravens on

at 8 01:10:09

Netflix. Not on Netflix, on Fox.

at 8 01:10:11

>> Speaker D: Sorry.

at 8 01:10:11

>> Jonathan: Christmas. Christmas is on Netflix. But

at 8 01:10:14

yeah, it's gonna be uh, it's gonna be interesting, man.

at 8 01:10:17

So we'll see what happens.

at 8 01:10:19

>> RB: Well, with uh, that, you know,

at 8 01:10:22

I'm excited for the playoffs, the NFL playoffs. The

at 8 01:10:25

Steelers, um, they're

at 8 01:10:27

in. So that's the bright side.

at 8 01:10:31

And Tomlins got another winning season.

at 8 01:10:34

So with:

at 8 01:10:37

on the heels here. But

at 8 01:10:40

what are you looking Forward to? To

at 8 01:10:43

2025 or what's a goal of yours

at 8 01:10:46

that you're chasing?

at 8 01:10:48

>> Jonathan: Uh, I don't know. People ask me that recently, what do you want for

at 8 01:10:50

Christmas? All this. Jaz. And I just say simple one word answer.

at 8 01:10:53

Peace. That's it. I don't care what capacity that

at 8 01:10:56

comes. I just want more peace. You

at 8 01:10:59

know, I was reading and it's

at 8 01:11:01

crazy that I read this because I felt

at 8 01:11:04

this, I've felt this for years.

at 8 01:11:07

That in the morning, early hours,

at 8 01:11:10

say between 4 and 6:30, when that stillness

at 8 01:11:13

exists and if you're able to be conscious at those

at 8 01:11:16

hours, m. Your thought process

at 8 01:11:19

is so deep and clear.

at 8 01:11:22

Okay. And I've had that experience

at 8 01:11:25

multiple, multiple times. I used to do it on a regular.

at 8 01:11:28

Got away from it a little bit, I'll be honest.

at 8 01:11:30

>> RB: Mhm.

at 8 01:11:30

>> Jonathan: But that. Whether it's an hour or

at 8 01:11:33

45 minutes or whatever, but that hour

at 8 01:11:36

in the morning, if you can channel that energy

at 8 01:11:39

that establishes such a more prolific

at 8 01:11:42

and, and, and uh, peace filled

at 8 01:11:45

day, because your thoughts are so much more Intense.

at 8 01:11:48

I need to get back to that. Okay. And. And

at 8 01:11:51

incense, right?

at 8 01:11:51

>> RB: Uh, well, yeah, just burning those a little bit.

at 8 01:11:54

>> Jonathan: I got it burning. I had a burning this weekend. That. Definitely.

at 8 01:11:57

But the point is maybe that. And then maybe that'll carry

at 8 01:12:00

over to golf.

at 8 01:12:00

I don't know. Not that I care if it does or doesn't,

at 8 01:12:03

because ultimately, you know, golf's for fun, but

at 8 01:12:06

peace. That's what I'm chasing.

at 8 01:12:08

>> RB: What about 2025? Peace.

at 8 01:12:10

>> Jonathan: Uhhuh. Yeah, I know that was deep, but.

at 8 01:12:13

>> RB: That'S an answer expected from you.

at 8 01:12:16

With. Without further ado, um, everyone,

at 8 01:12:19

you know, thank you again for another wonderful

at 8 01:12:22

year.:

at 8 01:12:25

was fun. It was filled with a lot of

at 8 01:12:28

drama.

at 8 01:12:29

>> Jonathan: It was.

at 8 01:12:30

>> RB: Um. But with that being said,

at 8 01:12:33

I'm ready to turn the page of 2025. You

at 8 01:12:36

all have yourselves a merry little Christmas with your family.

at 8 01:12:39

Enjoy, um, the holidays.

at 8 01:12:42

Um, tell somebody you love them at the

at 8 01:12:45

holidays, okay? Because it's not. It's

at 8 01:12:48

something, you know, whatever. Life's short, so. So

at 8 01:12:51

tell them you love them. And, uh, have

at 8 01:12:53

a happy, happy New Year, too.

at 8 01:12:56

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

at 8 01:12:57

>> RB: Uh, and healthy New Year. And stay outside the wall

at 8 01:13:00

field. And be careful when using Q tips and be

at 8 01:13:03

careful when cutting a cigar. Um, but with

at 8 01:13:06

that being said, keep chasing. And

at 8 01:13:09

make sure you go over to chasing underscore birdies

at 8 01:13:12

on Instagram. Like, love. Tap it.

at 8 01:13:15

We appreciate all the support. Support. Yeah. Little

at 8 01:13:17

support.

at 8 01:13:18

>> Jonathan: No, absolutely, guys. We appreciate all the love. Support.

at 8 01:13:21

This year was a fun year,

at 8 01:13:24

even though I was without my partner for a majority of

at 8 01:13:27

it. But, uh, as always, you guys have

at 8 01:13:30

a blessed weekend, Merry Christmas,

at 8 01:13:32

and have a wonderful happy new Year. Safe

at 8 01:13:35

and sound. And we look forward to seeing y'all in

at 8 01:13:38

2025. And naturally, got to give a big shout

at 8 01:13:41

out over to Rachel London, Jacqueline de Paterio for helping us

at 8 01:13:44

out here, and Evo Ally Emily for putting

at 8 01:13:47

this thing together. You guys have a great weekend, Merry

at 8 01:13:50

Christmas, and we will catch y'all in two.
