Hello and happy Thanksgiving.
Karen Bigman:Just wanted to give you a little replay of one of my favorite
Karen Bigman:episodes, The Glorious Clitoris.
Karen Bigman:Now, one thing I will say about this episode while it is on
Karen Bigman:audio, it's much better watched on video and it's up on YouTube.
Karen Bigman:There should be a link in the show notes.
Karen Bigman:I actually do some visuals.
Karen Bigman:I have some graphics to show you exactly what is going on behind the vulva because
Karen Bigman:what you see is not all that you get.
Karen Bigman:So I hope you will learn a little bit more about your clitoris or clitoris,
Karen Bigman:whatever you want to call it and enjoy it.
Karen Bigman:Over the Thanksgiving holiday, happy holidays, welcome to the taboo to truth

Karen Bigman:I'm going to bring the often quiet into the light to create a safe space where
Karen Bigman:no question is too awkward or taboo.
Karen Bigman:Together we're creating a community of support and education where you
Karen Bigman:can learn, share, and laugh about the intricate beauty of sex in midlife.
Karen Bigman:So, grab your favorite drink and put me on speaker.
Karen Bigman:It's time we broke the silence.
Karen Bigman:This may be the best episode or the most useful episode of Taboo to Truth that
Karen Bigman:you hear because today I'm going to talk to you about your glorious clitoris.
Karen Bigman:You may call it a clitoris, clitoris, doesn't really matter what you call it.
Karen Bigman:You need to know it.
Karen Bigman:very well and you want your partner to know it very well because that clitoris
Karen Bigman:or clitoris or clit, which you will soon learn is not so little, has the most
Karen Bigman:nerve endings of any part of your body.
Karen Bigman:Somewhere between 85 and 90 percent of women need that area
Karen Bigman:stimulated to have an orgasm.
Karen Bigman:Contrary to popular heterosexual male belief, Just sticking that
Karen Bigman:penis in your vagina is not going to get you to orgasm, necessarily.
Karen Bigman:Now, you may really like having something inside your vagina, and when you have
Karen Bigman:that combined with clitoral stimulation, that may be the most awesome way that
Karen Bigman:you can enjoy sex and have an orgasm.
Karen Bigman:But you need to really know about this organ and why it exists.
Karen Bigman:And the more you understand it, the better, more enjoyable
Karen Bigman:your sex life will be.
Karen Bigman:The first thing I want to tell you about this beautiful clitoris is that
Karen Bigman:it is the only organ in the human body that is strictly for pleasure.
Karen Bigman:And ladies, we have one and he doesn't.
Karen Bigman:All right.
Karen Bigman:So if you have a vulva.
Karen Bigman:You have a clitoris, and its purpose is strictly for pleasure.
Karen Bigman:If you think about it, there is no male equivalent that only has the
Karen Bigman:purpose of pleasure, because the male penis does lots of things, right?
Karen Bigman:It ejaculates and, and gives semen so that you can Procreate, it pees, it does
Karen Bigman:all sorts of things, but the clitoris only is there to give you pleasure.
Karen Bigman:I have a video of this with diagrams on my website and on my YouTube channel,
Karen Bigman:so I'm going to try to describe it.
Karen Bigman:As best I can on the podcast.
Karen Bigman:What you see when you look in your vulva, which you should all
Karen Bigman:know what your vulva looks like.
Karen Bigman:Take a mirror and take a look down there.
Karen Bigman:Get to know your vulva.
Karen Bigman:The first little piece that's sticking out of your vulva, of the
Karen Bigman:inside of your vulva is the clitoris with the clitoral hood covering it.
Karen Bigman:So that is what you see.
Karen Bigman:May think if you do know where your clitoris is, you may think that's the
Karen Bigman:whole thing, but actually it's like a wishbone around the whole vulva area,
Karen Bigman:but surrounds the entire vul and vagina.
Karen Bigman:The reason that you get so much pleasure from the penetration part
Karen Bigman:is because it's actually stimulating the clitoris from the inside.
Karen Bigman:Add that with the external stimulation, and now you, you
Karen Bigman:see where I'm heading, right?
Karen Bigman:They didn't really know about the clitoris.
Karen Bigman:It was discovered more of the fact that it's that large that it actually
Karen Bigman:goes up into the female body was only discovered more recently.
Karen Bigman:Can't tell you exactly when, but in fact they didn't understand it.
Karen Bigman:But now that we do, we really want to get to know it, right?
Karen Bigman:It is a significant structure that surrounds your vulva and your vagina.
Karen Bigman:It also, when people talk about the G spot, They're actually referring
Karen Bigman:to an area, which is if you put your finger in your vagina and you kind
Karen Bigman:of hook it up under there and rub around there for some women, that is
Karen Bigman:particularly stimulating because it's also stimulating a good part of your clitoris.
Karen Bigman:Now, I'm not a doctor, so you know that my medical explanations are a little
Karen Bigman:simple, but that is where that comes from.
Karen Bigman:It's the upper wall of the vagina, and you're stimulating
Karen Bigman:the clitoris at the same time.
Karen Bigman:So that's why it feels so good.
Karen Bigman:Not everyone finds it enjoyable, but many vulva owners will get pleasure from
Karen Bigman:having something rubbed in that area.
Karen Bigman:And the same holds true of something penetrating your vagina because it's
Karen Bigman:also surrounded by the clitoris.
Karen Bigman:That's where the pleasure is coming from.
Karen Bigman:That's why that, that rubbing up and down feels good because it's in
Karen Bigman:a lubricated vagina because you are stimulating the clitoris around there.
Karen Bigman:If you were looking at your vulva in a mirror, you can see the
Karen Bigman:tip sticking out, which is the clitoris and the clitoral hood.
Karen Bigman:And then you've got an opening, that is the vaginal opening, and inside
Karen Bigman:the vagina, there are two holes.
Karen Bigman:There's the hole where urine comes out, and then there is the hole where
Karen Bigman:babies come out, and where the penis goes in, or where things go in when
Karen Bigman:you want to have sexual stimulation.
Karen Bigman:We have two holes.
Karen Bigman:The men only get one, we get two.
Karen Bigman:When someone is sticking their fingers inside of you, or sticking something
Karen Bigman:inside of you, when you are sticking something inside of you, And it's
Karen Bigman:also stimulating your clitoris.
Karen Bigman:It can just be an amazing feeling, right?
Karen Bigman:Because you've got it being stimulated from all different,
Karen Bigman:different parts of your body.
Karen Bigman:And again, this, remember this, this organ, it's all about
Karen Bigman:pleasure, simply pleasure.
Karen Bigman:And it's really important that you understand that you learn not only how
Karen Bigman:to stimulate yourself, If you know how you can help your partner stimulate you
Karen Bigman:so you can have a really great sex life.
Karen Bigman:And I will also say that most men, I would say most heterosexual men
Karen Bigman:don't know much about the clitoris.
Karen Bigman:They, they might know it exists.
Karen Bigman:Certainly not the young ones don't, but they don't teach that in sex education.
Karen Bigman:But the, the mature men, shall we say, may know a little bit about it.
Karen Bigman:But they may not understand that it is a really important piece
Karen Bigman:of pleasure in your intimacy.
Karen Bigman:In a 2022 study, they found that the human clitoris contains 10, 281 nerve
Karen Bigman:fibers on average, which is 2, 000 plus more than they used to think it did.
Karen Bigman:So it is a very, very sensitive area.
Karen Bigman:And it could also In addition to being a place where you can derive pleasure,
Karen Bigman:it can also be irritated just as easily because it's got all those nerve endings
Karen Bigman:and it's very, very important that it's working properly so that all the blood is
Karen Bigman:flowing and keeping those nerve endings healthy so that you can become aroused.
Karen Bigman:The female clitoris and the male penis are made up of the same erectile tissue.
Karen Bigman:I like to say that a male has the equivalent of a female clitoris in
Karen Bigman:the penis, as opposed to the clitoris being a female penis, because they are
Karen Bigman:both made of the same erectile tissue.
Karen Bigman:Now, when you get a rouse, like a penis, since we are likening the two
Karen Bigman:organs, it's not The clitoris gets very hard and for some women, especially
Karen Bigman:if you're taking certain hormones like testosterone, it can get very big and
Karen Bigman:it feels really good to be stimulated.
Karen Bigman:Just like you would stimulate a man's penis, obviously it's much smaller, but
Karen Bigman:stroking the clitoris as it gets hard can feel really, really good and help
Karen Bigman:you get to an orgasm really quickly.
Karen Bigman:Using a vibrator or any other, there are other kinds of sex toys that
Karen Bigman:can really stimulate the clitoris and produce unbelievable orgasms.
Karen Bigman:If you combine the rubbing on the vaginal wall, so whether it's intercourse, whether
Karen Bigman:it's It's manual, whether it's with a toy and the stimulation of the clitoris, you
Karen Bigman:can have like mind blowing orgasms, right?
Karen Bigman:Now, if you have a dry vagina as a result of menopause, you want to make
Karen Bigman:sure that you use lots of lubrication because the whole area, the vulva, the
Karen Bigman:vagina, the clitoris, those all can get very dry with the loss of estrogen.
Karen Bigman:So sometimes lubrication is really important, whether it's silicone
Karen Bigman:based, water based, or both.
Karen Bigman:You may need to keep your vagina moist with some hyaluronic acid
Karen Bigman:or a topical estrogen cream.
Karen Bigman:All those things are important as you age because that constant rubbing on the dry
Karen Bigman:vagina, first of all, it's super painful and it's You know, even if the clitoris
Karen Bigman:is dry as well, it's super painful.
Karen Bigman:And second of all, it can start to cause irritations and even UTIs as
Karen Bigman:I've talked about in other episodes.
Karen Bigman:So you want to make sure that your vulva, your vagina, your clitoris,
Karen Bigman:everything is very well lubricated and then the stimulation will be even better.
Karen Bigman:So ladies and gentlemen, you've got to get to know this clitoris.
Karen Bigman:I encourage you to go to my website so you can see the model.
Karen Bigman:That I talk about in the different diagrams where I really explain in depth
Karen Bigman:what the clitoris looks like and how it is placed in the female body so that
Karen Bigman:you can understand how to stimulate it, how to derive pleasure from it, so that
Karen Bigman:you can have mind blowing, amazing sex with that glorious clitoris of yours.
Karen Bigman:So, Do some research, take a mirror, take a look down there,
Karen Bigman:see what yours looks like.
Karen Bigman:Everybody is different, but every vulva owner has a glorious clitoris.
Karen Bigman:Where I'm spicing up midlife one episode at a time.
Karen Bigman:If you've been enjoying the sizzle, why not turn up the heat by giving
Karen Bigman:me a scorching five star rating and leaving a steamy review.

Karen Bigman:So don't be shy, show me some love and keep the midlife adventure alive.
Karen Bigman:And until next time, grab your favorite drink and put me on speaker.
Karen Bigman:It's time we broke the silence.
