Melissa Deally:

Welcome back to another episode of health hacks, and my quote of the day today is that health is your greatest asset. Think about it. When the engine light comes on in your car, you will take your car in to get the issue resolved before the car just stops working. When your house needs renovations, you do something about it. You when things break down, you fix them, you vacuum your house, you take out the garbage, you look after your house. And those are likely the largest investments you've ever made in your life, and you look after them. What about your body? You never had to invest in it in terms of a cash outlay, except it's the only body that you have to live in. And you can buy another car, you can buy another house, you can't buy another body, and that's why your health is your greatest asset, because you can't raise your family, build your career, live your dreams. If you don't have your health, that has to be your number one priority. Excuse me, so what happens when you instead of taking your health for granted, you choose to treat it as your greatest asset, and in doing so, you take steps such as ensuring you're well hydrated, ensuring you're get getting your seven to nine hours of sleep every night, Ensuring that 80% of your meals are healthy meals, and 20% of them might not be that nutritious for your body. However. They're fun, they taste good, you're celebrating, you're with family. They make you feel good. When it's 80% is healthy, your body can handle that. It's when 80% of the food is nutrient deplete fast food without much goodness in it that your body struggles to cope and it struggles to perform at the level that you want to perform. You're very demanding of your body in terms of the energy levels and the exercise that you want to do, etc, the mental energy that you require to go about every day. You have to treat it right. And when you prioritize your health and you treat it right, and you hide, you hydrate, as I've said, you ensure you're getting good nutrition, good sleep, and you need to detox it, take out the garbage, right every quarter, I run a seven day detox in order to make sure that the toxins coming in are getting out, and then the ripple effect of that, the benefit of that is that you feel great, which means you have a more positive mindset. You you're happier. And that has a positive benefit on your relationships, all the people around you, and how much joy you feel in life, which lifts you up further. And so that's why these small, consistent steps have such a profound impact on your physical health and your mental health. So what is one small habit that you can adopt today in order to protect your health, improve your health, that you're willing to start with and make it one small habit so that you can have a win? And if that's hydrating more. Maybe it's one less glass of alcohol a week. Maybe it's getting to bed earlier every night, etc, etc. Think of the thing that you can do for you as you start to honor the fact that your health is your greatest asset, and for you to live your best life and thrive, you have to honor the fact and respect the fact that your health is your greatest asset, and look after it.
